Since the trade for Vladimir Tarasenko, the New York Rangers seem to be almost unstoppable having gone on this six-game winning streak.
Despite the Rangers having some solid forward players already, they needed a player who was prepared to drive the play forward and not just hope for it to fall into place. Tarasenko brings that to the team.
Winning six games in a row still leaves the NY Rangers lingering down in 6th place in the Eastern Conference. They should be safe to make the playoffs this season but one does wonder how much trouble they could be in without this current winning streak.
Edmonton Oilers
The Edmonton Oilers have it easy in the Western Conference compared to their opponents. The Oilers sit in 6th position but find themselves only 5 points away from the top of the Conference. They could be almost top now had they won their previous two outings.
We all know the strength of this Oilers team offensively with Connor McDavid having his best year to date and Leon Draisaitl not far behind having had 80 points. McDavid is just one point shy of hitting 100 after scoring 7 points in his previous five games.
