Calgary played and won last night as underdogs when they visited the Dallas Stars, coming away with a 5-4 victory, and maybe this will be a sign of things to come as Calgary went through a stage of generating a lot of offensive xG but losing games.
All around Calgary are ranked middle of the pack in terms of goals scored, allowed, penalty kill, and powerplay, ranking between 10th and 25th in all four categories.
Despite it looking like the Flames could possibly be in with a chance to make the playoffs as they are only 7 points away from 7th in the conference, we must remember they have played three games extra and would need to go on a crazy run like 15-3 to stand a legit chance of getting back into this year’s playoff.
Minnesota on 4-0 Run
The Minnesota Wild started to look a little stale a few weeks back when they went 4-8 and amazingly won all four games in overtime, meaning they went 13 games before they won a game in regulation.
Since then however the Wild have gone 8-1 and 4-0 in their previous few games, they still love an overtime win however having seen 4 of their last 9 head to overtime.
Minnesota is just four points away from the top team in the Conference and only three shies of leveling with the Dallas Stars for the division.

It’s not very often we get to praise this team, and although their opponents haven’t been some of the league’s best, they have managed to go 4-1 across their last five games, which is just the second time this season they managed to win three or more in a five-game span.
With that said, the Ducks still have the worst goals-against record and have allowed the most shots in the league. Offensively they have scored 4 more than the worst team Chicago and rank inside the bottom 3 for worst power plays and penalty kills in the league.
Seattle in Western Conference Battle
The Seattle Kraken might not have a star-studded team but they are a very hard team to beat and find themselves just two wins behind the Western Conference leaders, who just so happen to be the second most recent expansion team in Las Vegas.
Somewhat surprisingly this Seattle team has managed to score the 5th most amount of goals per game this season with 3.59, but they have had to as their defense has allowed over three goals per game this season and they have the 7th worst penalties kill in the league.
The Pick
Seattle should be too strong for Anaheim on home ice, the Ducks have gone 10-24 on the road this season, and surprisingly they have won their previous two road games whilst Seattle lost their previous two home matchups.
