First things first, and before United continues its Europa League tenure, they must contend with the Premier League, where Southampton awaits on the matchday 27 calendar.
Returning to Old Trafford, United will feel confident extending their 15 EPL wins this season. However, keeping a clean sheet may not be obtainable, as they’ve allowed 35 goals in domestic action this term. With only 41 scored, they boast the worst goal difference in the Premier League top 10 – despite sitting in third position.
Southampton
Fighting relegation has been the story of Southampton’s season thus far. Still, after a disappointing loss to Leeds United and a shocking FA Cup exit at the hands of League Two’s Grimsby Town, the Saints finally returned to the win column with a 1-0 success over Leicester City last time out.
Ruben Selles hasn’t settled in as the new Southampton boss, and with a trip to Old Trafford, we shouldn’t expect him to get comfortable this weekend either – United has lost just two games on home soil this term.

It was a heavy defeat for United last weekend, the worst losing scoreline in 91 years, in fact. However, with a 19th-placed struggling Southampton at the opposite end of the pitch and a 4-1 midweek success in European action, the confidence has already been reignited for a squad that’s undoubtedly the more talented squad of the two.
Take the United -1 handicap and expect them to prove a point this Sunday afternoon.

However, 2023 has shone some light in their favor, and behind a six-game undefeated streak, hope remains. Unfortunately, facts are facts, and Schalke has still won just 4 of their last 23 Bundesliga games this term – seven tie games and 12 defeats.
Borussia Dortmund
Dortmund delivered a 10-game win streak in all competitions following the German winter break and are now level on points with Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga. A midweek Champions League exit at the hands of Chelsea did, however, break their winning streak.
Nevertheless, a loss to Chelsea shouldn’t hinder their domestic spirit, particularly versus a lackluster Schalke squad. The head-to-head meetings between Dortmund and Schalke have seen the latter collect just two wins from 14 Bundesliga clashes.
Pick and Prediction
The Bundesliga odds are supplying an excellent price on Dortmund to return to winning ways. With 10 wins from 11 games in all competitions, it isn’t easy to envision any other result besides an away win.
