Bradish will start Saturday in Game 1 of the ALDS versus the Rangers, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Bradish seemed to be the clear choice for the Orioles following a breakout 2023 campaign which saw him post a 2.83 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 168:44 K:BB over 168.2 innings covering 30 starts. That includes a 2.34 second-half ERA and a 16-inning scoreless streak to end his regular season. The Rangers have not yet announced a Game 1 starter, but it's expected to be Dane Dunning. Grayson Rodriguez will get the ball in Game 2 for the O's.

Bradish did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing just one walk over two scoreless innings against Boston. He struck out five.

Bradish took a big step forward in his sophomore season, improving upon every major pitching category and finishing with a 12-7 record, 2.86 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, 163:43 K:BB and a 49.3 percent ground ball rate, currently the eighth-highest in the MLB among qualified starters.

He's currently lined up for a home matchup with the Nationals in his next outing.

After giving up three runs on four hits in the third inning, the 27-year-old righty retired 13 consecutive Rays before Luke Raley's decisive solo homer in the seventh inning handed Bradish his first loss since July 26. In seven starts between losses, he went 5-0 with a 2.38 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 50:12 K:BB across 41.2 impressive innings. Bradish is currently lined up to face another tough lineup when the Orioles travel to Houston next week.

He's won two of four starts in August, allowing five runs with 27 strikeouts across 23.2 innings for the month. Overall, the 26-year-old is at a 3.03 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 122:35 K:BB through 127.2 innings across 23 starts this season. Bradish is lined up to make his next start at home against the Rockies.

Bradish walked a season-high five batters last Sunday versus the Mets, but he bounced back well for his fourth quality start in six outings since the All-Star break. While fantasy managers should be excited to see the right-hander healthy and pitching well, it's worth noting that the Nationals rank just 27th in team OPS (.650) through Wednesday's games. The Arizona native tentatively lines up to face the Red Sox in his next outing, who could provide steeper competition. Boston currently ranks 13th with a .732 team OPS.

The Orioles reinstated Bradish (foot) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday in Washington.

Baltimore optioned reliever Logan Gillaspie to Triple-A Norfolk to clear room on the 26-man active roster for Bradish, who is set to make his second start of the campaign after exiting his April 3 season debut in Texas with a right foot contusion. Bradish's messy outing comes at an awful time for the right-hander, as the Orioles have started paring down their rotation candidates. Prior to Monday, he'd given up just two earned runs over nine innings, and it's encouraging he wasn't immediately optioned out after the poor start. He'll likely have one last audition before the Orioles break camp, but it's quite possible he ends up on the outside looking in. Whether that's at Triple-A Norfolk or as part of the big-league bullpen is to be determined.

Bradish and fellow teammate Dean Kremer worked out together during the offseason for the season year in a row, giving each other tips on their pitches. Bradish leaned on his slider versus right-handed hitters late last season. Both Kremer and Bradish are vying for spots in the back half of the Orioles' rotation, though their major-league experience and relative success compared to other candidates should give them an edge if they pitch well in the spring.

After a bumpy start to his major-league career, the 26-year-old rookie has kept the opponent off the board while throwing seven innings or more during three of his last six starts, turning in a 1.64 ERA and 0.78 WHIP and allowing only one homer during that span.

The 25-year-old rookie right-hander lowered his ERA to 5.63 with the unexpected performance and has a K:BB of 79:29 in 80 innings this season. It is worth monitoring to see if Bradish can build on this career-best start his next time on the mound which tentatively lines up for next week at Cleveland.

Despite striking out six batters and walking none, Bradish was tagged with the loss after allowing nine hits and three Boston runners to cross the plate. Bradish has not gone six innings or more since May 10 and has only done it twice on the year, limiting his opportunities to earn both wins and quality starts. He also has allowed three or more runs to score in nine of 15 games. Bradish's three-run outing actually lowered his ERA to a still lackluster 6.25.

Before being placed on the 15-day injured list June 24 with right shoulder inflammation, Bradish compiled a 7.38 ERA, 1.77 WHIP and 46:18 K:BB across 46.1 innings. Both Austin Voth and Spenser Watkins have recently found success at the back end of the rotation, and if the two are able to deliver respectable showings Monday and Tuesday versus the Rays, respectively, the Orioles could choose to option Bradish at Norfolk upon activating him from the IL.

The 25-year-old tentatively lines up to face the Yankees on Monday.

Bradish has posted a 2.02 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 17:8 K:BB in 13.1 innings in his three starts for Triple-A Norfolk since being promoted from Double-A Bowie on May 22.

Bradish's control has been a bit shaky in his first three starts for Norfolk, but he's continued to miss bats a steady clip much like he did at Bowie during his first three outings of 2020. One of the prospects the Orioles received from the Angels in the December 2019 trade that sent Dylan Bundy to Anaheim, Bradish should have a chance to make his MLB debut later this summer if he remains on his current trajectory.
