Xavier Tillman Injury News & Updates
Keep up with the latest injuries from the Knicks vs Celtics game today with our National Basketball Association injury report.Nov 30, 2025
Season-high three steals in start
Tillman posted nine points (4-9 FG, 1-5 3Pt), six rebounds, one block and three steals over 30 minutes during Sunday's 117-115 win over the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
In his first appearance since the Nov. 18 win over the Nets, Tillman filled in for the injured Neemias Queta (ankle) with a serviceable effort in the starting lineup. Tillman hadn't even reached the 20-minute threshold in any of his first eight games of the year, so it's hard to imagine he'll hang onto much fantasy relevance once Queta is healthy. The three steals were a season high for Tillman on Sunday, though.
Nov 19, 2025
Back in rotation Tuesday
Tillman ended with one assist in five minutes during Tuesday's 113-99 win over the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Tillman was back in the rotation, albeit in a very limited role. Although the center depth in Boston is far from glamorous, Tillman has been unable to carve out a consistent spot in the lineup. Through eight appearances, he has averaged just 2.5 points and 2.1 rebounds in 8.2 minutes per game.
Nov 8, 2025
Off injury report for Sunday
Tillman (personal) is off the Celtics' injury report for Sunday's game against the Magic.
ANALYSIS
Tillman missed Friday's loss to the Magic due to personal reasons, though he'll return to action Sunday. Over seven regular-season appearances thus far, the 26-year-old has averaged 2.9 points and 2.4 rebounds in 8.7 minutes per contest.
Nov 6, 2025
Out for personal reasons
Tillman (personal) Justin Turpin of WEEI.com Friday against Orlando.
ANALYSIS
Tillman has appeared in seven of Boston's nine games to open the season for an average of 8.7 minutes per contest, so his absence won't carry many fantasy implications.
Nov 3, 2025
Muted role continues
Tillman provided zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt), two rebounds, one assist and one steal in six minutes during Monday's 105-103 loss to Utah.
ANALYSIS
Tillman played fewer than 10 minutes for the fifth time in the past six games, continuing his slow start to the season. At this stage, it appears as though both Neemias Queta and Luka Garza are ahead of him in the rotation, while Chris Boucher is also spending some time at the five. Barring injuries to multiple players, Tillman is likely to serve as nothing more than a depth piece, at least for the foreseeable future.
Oct 23, 2025
Plays 16 minutes in opener
Tillman closed Wednesday's 117-116 loss to the 76ers with four points (2-8 FG, 0-3 3Pt), seven rebounds, one assist, one block and two steals in 16 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Tillman's 16 minutes of run could be used as Exhibit A to demonstrate the talent difference between last year's top-notch Celtics squad and this year's team. Tillman averaged only seven minutes per contest last season, though he was battling knee issues. Neemias Queta started at center for Boston, but was quickly pulled by Coach Mazzulla after Queta allowed Philly to grab an offensive rebound. Tillman then provided some much needed rebounding, but struggled offensively. Expect Boston to experiment with different front court lineups throughout the season.
Oct 1, 2025
Fully healthy of preseason
Tillman (knee) enters training camp fully healthy and ready to play.
ANALYSIS
Tillman dealt with left knee issues throughout the 2024-25 campaign, resulting in playing in only 33 regular-season games. If he's able to stay healthy this season, there's a chance he could be in line for more minutes off the bench, sharing time with Sam Hauser, Chris Boucher, Luka Garza and Neemias Queta in the frontcourt.
Apr 2, 2025
Back to bench role
Tillman will come off the bench during Wednesday's game against the Heat, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After getting the starting nod for Monday's win against the Grizzlies, Tillman will return to the second unit for Wednesday's matchup against Miami. The 25-year-old big man hasn't made much of a fantasy impact this season while playing for the Celtics, averaging 7.2 minutes per game.
Mar 31, 2025
Falls flat in start
Tillman scored two points (0-5 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and added three rebounds and one steal across eight minutes in Monday's 117-103 loss to the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Tillman has largely been outside of the Boston rotation this season, but he got the chance to make a rare start Monday with Jaylen Brown (knee) sitting out. He was limited to two brief shifts at the beginning of both halves and didn't make much of an impact during his time on the court while missing all five of his field-goal attempts. Tillman is likely to drop back out of the rotation if Brown returns for Wednesday's game against the Heat.
Mar 31, 2025
Starting Monday against Memphis
Tillman is in the Celtics' starting lineup against the Grizzlies on Monday, Brian Robb of MassLive.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman has been a healthy DNP for the majority of the season and the last time he saw the floor was March 6. With Jaylen Brown (knee) out, Tillman will make his first start of the season Monday against Memphis, whom he started his NBA career with in the 2020-21 campaign.
Mar 29, 2025
Set to return Saturday
Tillman (knee) has been cleared to play in Saturday's game against the Spurs, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman has missed the last 10 games for the Celtics due to a knee issue, but he will return to the floor Saturday in San Antonio. However, he 25-year-old big man likely won't make much of an impact from a fantasy perspective, as he averages 7.1 minutes per game off the bench for Boston this season.
Mar 28, 2025
Questionable for Saturday
Tillman is questionable for Saturday's game against the Spurs with a left knee joint sprain, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Although Tillman has missed four straight games, he'll at least have a chance to return Saturday. With Kristaps Porzingis, Al Horford and Luke Kornet all healthy in Boston's frontcourt, however, Tillman wouldn't be a lock to see the floor even if he's available against San Antonio.
Mar 25, 2025
Another absence coming
Tillman (knee) won't play in Wednesday's game versus the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Tillman's absence streak will extend to four games Wednesday due to a left knee joint sprain. Tillman's next chance to suit up is Saturday's matchup with San Antonio.
Mar 24, 2025
Still out Monday
Tillman (knee) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Kings, Jay King of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman hasn't played since March 6 and has made only three appearances since the beginning of February. His next chance to suit up will come Wednesday in Phoneix, but the veteran doesn't have a return timetable.
Mar 22, 2025
Remains out Sunday
Tillman (knee) is out for Sunday's game against the Trail Blazers, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman will miss an eighth consecutive game with a left knee sprain, and the big man doesn't have a timetable for his return. Tillman doesn't see regular minutes when the Celtics' frontcourt is at full strength, however, so his absence shouldn't affect many fantasy decisions.
Mar 20, 2025
Ruled out for Friday
Tillman (knee) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Jazz, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman will miss a seventh straight game for Boston while dealing with a knee issue. The next opportunity for the 25-year-old big man to get back on the floor for the defending NBA champions will be Sunday against the Trail Blazers.
Mar 2, 2025
Assigned and recalled Saturday
The Celtics assigned Tillman to the G League's Maine Celtics before he was later recalled to the NBA on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Tillman likely joined the G league Celtics for Saturday's practice ahead of their game against the Grand Rapids Gold on Tuesday. The 26-year-old appeared in only two outings for the parent club during February, and he averaged 5.5 minutes per contest.
Feb 27, 2025
Gets garbage-time run in blowout
Tillman (knee) recorded zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt), two rebounds and one steal across five minutes in Wednesday's 117-97 loss to the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Tillman missed three straight games due to knee inflammation before being cleared to play Tuesday, but he didn't see the floor in the Celtics' 10-point win over the Raptors. He remained out of the rotation for the second leg of the back-to-back set, as Tillman didn't check into the game until the Pistons already had the victory well in hand. After re-signing with Boston on a two-year deal over the summer, Tillman has endured the worst season of his five-year career; he's averaging just 7.1 minutes per game over his 28 appearances and is shooting just 23.8 percent from the field.
Feb 25, 2025
Good to go Tuesday
Tillman (knee) is available for Tuesday's game against Toronto.
ANALYSIS
Tillman is available to return from a three-game absence Tuesday due to left knee inflammation. The big man has received little playing time of late, though he could see a bump in minutes with Al Horford (toe) and Luke Kornet (personal) sidelined.
Feb 24, 2025
Probable for Tuesday
Tillman (knee) is probable for Tuesday's game against the Raptors, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Following a three-game absence with left knee inflammation, Tillman is expected to return to action Tuesday. Luke Kornet (personal) has already been ruled out against Toronto, so Tillman could be in line to share the backup center minutes with the probable Neemias Queta (illness) if Al Horford (toe) sits out.
Feb 22, 2025
Won't play Sunday
Tillman (knee) is out for Sunday's game against the Knicks, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman will miss a third straight game due to inflammation in his left knee, and it remains to be seen when the big man will be able to return to the hardwood. However, his absence won't generate a big impact in fantasy, as he's averaging a mere 7.3 minutes per game in 2024-25. His next chance to play will come against the Raptors on Tuesday.
Feb 19, 2025
Ruled out for Thursday
Tillman (knee) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the 76ers, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman continues to deal with inflammation in his left knee, which will force him to miss a third straight game. However, the absence of the 25-year-old big man won't have much of an impact from a fantasy perspective, as he has rarely seen the floor for Boston this season, averaging 7.3 minutes per game.
Feb 12, 2025
Won't play Wednesday
Tillman will not play Wednesday against the Spurs due to left knee inflammation.
ANALYSIS
Tillman was not on Boston's initial injury report, so this is apparently a new issue for the forward. Tillman has played just six minutes in one February appearance, however, so this news won't impact the rotation much.
Dec 20, 2024
Not listed on injury report
Tillman (illness) is not listed on the injury report for Saturday's game against the Bulls, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman missed Thursday's 117-108 loss to the Bulls with a non-COVID illness, but the big man should be ready to go for Saturday. He'll add some much-needed depth in the frontcourt, but he shouldn't see a lot of minutes if both Al Horford and Kristaps Porzingis are available.
Dec 19, 2024
Unable to play Thursday
Tillman (illness) has been ruled out for Thursday's matchup against Chicago, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman is slated to miss Thursday's game, though his absence shouldn't cause too many waves in the rotation. With the big man and Sam Hauser (back) both sidelined, Neemias Queta and Jordan Walsh are candidates to see a slight uptick in playing time. Tillman's next chance to play will come Saturday against the Bulls.
Dec 18, 2024
Questionable to play Thursday
Tillman is questionable for Thursday's game against the Bulls due to a non-COVID illness.
ANALYSIS
A decision on Tillman's status will be made closer to Thursday's 7:30 p.m. ET tipoff. That said, his potential absence isn't expected to move the needle too much in terms of fantasy purposes. With Al Horford (rest) ready to go Thursday, Tillman would be in line to have a backup role -- at best -- while battling with Neemias Queta and Luke Kornet for minutes at center.
Dec 5, 2024
Muted role continues
Tillman totaled two rebounds and one steal over eight minutes during Wednesday's 130-120 victory over the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Tillman suited up for just the second time in the past four games, failing to score in eight minutes. It's been a rough start to the season for Tillman, typically utilized as the third or even fourth-string center. To this point, he is averaging a mere 1.2 points and 2.1 rebounds in 9.4 minutes per game.
Nov 18, 2024
Assigned to G League
Boston assigned Tillman to the G League's Maine Celtics for practice on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Tillman was assigned to the G League along with Kristaps Porzingis (foot), but both players will be recalled to Boston at the conclusion of the practice.
Nov 10, 2024
Not starting Sunday
Tillman won't start Sunday's game against the Bucks, Sean Grande of NBC Sports Boston reports.
ANALYSIS
With Jaylen Brown (hip) returning to action, Tillman will revert to his usual backup role. He's averaged 12.3 minutes per game over seven appearances as a reserve this season.
Nov 8, 2024
No stats in spot start Friday
Tillman played six minutes and logged zero points (0-3 FG, 0-3 3Pt) in Friday's 108-104 overtime win over Brooklyn.
ANALYSIS
Tillman got his first start of the 2024-25 regular season Friday alongside Al Horford as Luke Kornet was sidelined due to a left hamstring injury. Tillman only saw playing time in the first quarter, during which he missed all three of his three-point attempts before being subbed out by Sam Hauser. Despite the spot start, Tillman's six minutes were the least amount on the Celtics as Neemias Queta played 27 minutes off the bench. Tillman isn't expected to produce much fantasy value on a talented Boston squad.
Nov 8, 2024
Starting vs. Brooklyn
Tillman is in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Nets, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Celtics are switching things up in the frontcourt and Tillman will get the nod alongside Al Horford. This will be his first start of the campaign. He's averaging 2.1 points and 2.9 rebounds per game this season.
Oct 25, 2024
Sees 15 minutes of run in win
Tillman delivered eight points (3-4 FG, 2-3 3Pt), one rebound and one assist across 15 minutes in Thursday's 122-102 win at Washington.
ANALYSIS
Expect Tillman, Luke Kornet and Neemias Queta to receive significant minutes when the Celtics face struggling opponents such as the Wizards. Kristaps Porzingis is out until at least early December and 38-year-old Al Horford needs to pace himself to be ready for the playoffs. That said, none of the three Boston big men reserves will ever produce gaudy stats. The Celtics are very deep and don't need reserve centers to produce on the offensive end.
Sep 24, 2024
Good to go for camp
Brad Stevens said Tillman had a knee scope during the offseason, but he will be a full go for training camp, Jared Weiss reports.
ANALYSIS
Stevens did not specify which knee it was, but the good news is that the issue is apparently behind Tillman. With Kristaps Porzingis (foot) sidelined to begin the season, Tillman will have an opportunity to earn some rotation minutes early on. In 20 regular season games in 2023-24, Tillman averaged 4.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 13.7 minutes.
Jul 2, 2024
Intends to reunite with Boston
Tillman agreed on a two-year deal to return with the Celtics on Tuesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman stepped up in Kristaps Porzingis' (foot) absence throughout the 2023-24 NBA Playoffs, and he will return to the club as they aim to repeat their success form last year. The 25-year-old was acquired by the Celtics via trade Feb. 7. Tillman averaged 4.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.0 assists across 13.7 minutes in 20 regular-season appearances with Boston.
Jun 13, 2024
Plays 11 minutes in Game 3 win
Tillman closed with three points (1-1 FG, 1-1 3Pt), four rebounds and two blocks in 11 minutes during Wednesday's 106-99 win over Dallas in Game 3 of the NBA Finals.
ANALYSIS
It was Tillman, not Luke Kornet, who picked up the slack at center with Kristaps Porzingis (ankle) out. Coach Joe Mazzulla clearly preferred Tillman switching on Mavericks star Luka Doncic on pick-and-rolls and the move paid off. Tillman got multiple stops when forced to guard Doncic. Tillman also hit a clutch corner three during a key second-half Boston scoring run. His four boards and two blocks were just what the Celtics needed while resting 38-year-old Al Horford. Tilman and his teammates will look to finish the Finals Friday in Dallas.
May 23, 2024
Available for Game 2
Tillman (personal) is available for Thursday's Game 2 against the Pacers, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The reserve big has seen limited action throughout the playoffs, appearing in just three games -- one against Miami and two against Cleveland. With Kristaps Porzingis (calf) expected to be sidelined until at least Game 4, Al Horford has been seeing extended minutes. It's possible Tillman will be thrown into action in hopes of giving Horford some more rest time.
May 22, 2024
Questionable for Game 2
Tillman (personal) is questionable for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Pacers on Thursday, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman missed the series opener Tuesday, and while his availability for Thursday's contest is uncertain, his absence shouldn't impact the rotation, as he's featured just three times in the current postseason. Al Horford and Luke Kornet should continue to handle the minutes at center for Boston regardless of whether Tillman returns Thursday or not.
May 21, 2024
Won't be available for Game 1
Tillman (personal) has been ruled out for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Pacers on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Tillman will join Kristaps Porzingis (calf) as unavailable, but the former's absence shouldn't impact Boston's rotation, as he's appeared in just three of Boston's first 10 postseason contests. Al Horford and Luke Kornet should continue to handle all meaningful minutes at center in Game 1.
May 20, 2024
Questionable for Game 1
Tillman is questionable for Tuesday's Game 1 against the Pacers due to personal reasons, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman hasn't been a consistent part of the rotation during the playoffs, appearing in just three matchups and averaging 1.3 points and 2.0 rebounds in 8.3 minutes per game. While it's unclear whether he'll be available to begin the Eastern Conference Finals, his status shouldn't significantly impact the rotation.
Apr 11, 2024
Moves back to bench role
Tillman is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Tillman returns to the bench with Kristaps Porzingis (hamstring) in the starting unit. Tillman is averaging
Apr 11, 2024
Good to go for Thursday's matchup
Tillman (knee) is available for Thursday's game against the Knicks, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman was questionable for Thursday's matchup, but he'll be able to suit up once again. He started Tuesday against Milwaukee but will likely retreat to the bench Thursday since Kristaps Porzingis (hamstring) has been cleared to return.
Apr 10, 2024
Questionable for Thursday
Tillman is questionable for Thursday's game against the Knicks due to right knee tendon irritation, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman is being listed as questionable for the first game of a back-to-back set, along with Al Horford (toe) and Kristaps Porzingis (hamstring), so the Celtics could be very thin up front Thursday night. If all these guys are out, Luke Kornet and Oshae Brissett could be forced into major minutes. Check back for another update on Tillman following Thursday's shootaround.
Apr 9, 2024
Starting vs. Milwaukee
Tillman is in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Bucks, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman will move to the starting lineup Tuesday and anchor the frontcourt in a game where Boston will miss Al Horford (toe) and Kristaps Porzingis (hamstring). Tillman is averaging 7.4 points and 6.1 rebounds per game as a starter this season.
Mar 28, 2024
Good to go Thursday
Tillman (knee) is available for Thursday's game versus the Hawks, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman has been upgraded from questionable to available Thursday after missing Boston's previous contest due to left knee inflammation. With Al Horford (toe) out, Tillman could receive increased playing time.
Mar 28, 2024
Participates in shootaround
Tillman (knee) was active in shootaround ahead of Thursday's game versus the Hawks, Bobby Manning of CelticsBlog reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman is officially listed as questionable for Thursday's contest due to left knee inflammation. However, Tillman's participation in shootaround is a good sign of his availability against Atlanta.
Mar 27, 2024
Questionable for Thursday
Tillman (knee) is questionable for Thursday's game against the Hawks, John Karalis of BostonSportsJournal.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman is in danger of missing a second straight game due to a swollen left knee. If he's sidelined again, Luke Kornet and Oshae Brissett would be candidates for a few extra minutes off the bench.
Mar 25, 2024
Ruled out for Monday
Tillman (knee) has been ruled out for Monday's game against Atlanta, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman appeared in the last seven games but will be unavailable Monday due to his knee injury. He'll have a few days to rest before Thursday's rematch against Atlanta, but it's unclear whether he'll be ready to return by then.
Mar 24, 2024
Questionable for Monday
Tillman is questionable Monday against Atlanta due to left knee swelling, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Left knee issues have plagued Tillman throughout this season, so a resurfacing of the injury designation is notable. He logged just 11 minutes in Saturday's win over Chicago after averaging 18.5 minutes across six prior appearances, so his status for Monday's game is very murky.
Mar 23, 2024
Coming off bench
Tillman will return to a reserve role in Saturday's game against the Bulls, Sean Grande of NBC Sports Boston reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman will come off the bench in favor of Luke Kornet. The 25-year-old has averaged 4.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists across 16.2 minutes in 30 games as a reserve this season.
Mar 22, 2024
Joins starting lineup
Tillman is starting Friday's game against the Pistons, Sean Grande of NBC Sports Boston reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman is set to make his first start as a member of the Celtics due to the absence of Al Horford (toe) and Jayson Tatum (ankle). The Michigan State product has logged double-digit minutes off the bench in five straight matchups, averaging 3.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.0 assists over this stretch.
Mar 13, 2024
Grabs eight boards in win
Tillman amassed seven points (3-5 FG, 1-1 3Pt), eight rebounds, one assist and one steal over 27 minutes in Tuesday's 123-107 road win over the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Tillman's 27 minutes of run were driven by the absence of both Kristaps Porzingis (hamstring) and Al Horford (toe). Still, the big man produced solid numbers off the bench, which led to a plus-14 point differential rating. Since Boston acquired Tillman at the deadline, minutes have been erratic for both Tillman and Luke Kornet. But both were able to shine in what was the last game of a five-match road trip. Expect Tillman's minutes to decrease Thursday when the Celtics return home to face the Suns.
Mar 8, 2024
Carving out bench role
Tillman had two points (1-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt), four rebounds and one assist across 13 minutes during Thursday's 115-109 loss to Denver.
ANALYSIS
Tillman has played double-digit minutes in three of Boston's last four contests after being out of the rotation to start his Celtics tenure. His lack of playing time early on with the Celtics may have been due to a knee injury, but now that he's 100 percent healthy, the veteran forward appears to have surpassed Luke Kornet in Boston's rotation. While Tillman has carved out a bench role, he's not playing enough to warrant attention in fantasy.
Feb 23, 2024
Gets light run in blowout
Tillman (knee) tallied two points (1-1 FG) and one block in three minutes Thursday in the Celtics' 129-112 win over the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Tillman made his Celtics debut Thursday after he hadn't been available since being acquired from the Grizzlies on Feb. 7 while he continued to recover from a left knee injury. He found himself outside of head coach Joe Mazzulla's rotation, however, as Tillman didn't check into the game until 2:33 remained in the fourth quarter, when the Celtics were up by 18 points. Tillman looks like he'll need at least one or two of Boston's regular rotation players to be out for a given game in order to play meaningful minutes.
Feb 21, 2024
Available for Thursday's game
Tillman (knee) is available for Thursday's game against Chicago, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman has been dealing with a left knee injury in recent weeks and hasn't yet been able to make his debut for the Celtics after being traded from Memphis to Boston in early February. However, he'll be able to suit up as the Celtics resume play following the All-Star break. The 25-year-old should compete with Luke Kornet for reserve center minutes now that he's healthy.
Feb 14, 2024
Won't play Wednesday
Tillman (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Nets, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman continues to deal with a knee injury and will be unable to suit up for his new team before the All-Star break. It's not yet clear when he'll be able to return to action.
Feb 12, 2024
Won't play Tuesday
Tillman (knee) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Nets, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman was traded from the Grizzlies to the Celtics on Wednesday but hasn't yet been able to make his team debut due to his knee injury. It wouldn't be surprising to see him remain sidelined for Wednesday's rematch against the Nets to give him additional time to rest before the All-Star break.
Feb 10, 2024
Not playing Sunday
Tillman (knee) won't play against the Heat on Sunday, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman was traded to the Celtics from the Grizzlies, but it remains to be seen when he'll be able to make his Boston debut, as the big man acknowledged earlier this week that he doesn't have a timetable for his return from a nagging left knee injury. His next chance to play will come against the Nets on Tuesday, but it wouldn't be surprising if Tillman is sidelined for a few more games after Sunday.
Feb 9, 2024
No timetable to return
Tillman (knee) said Friday that he doesn't have a timetable to return, John Karalis of BostonSportsJournal.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman was traded from the Grizzlies to the Celtics on Wednesday, but he's been dealing with a left knee injury recently. He participated in Boston's morning shootaround ahead of Friday's game against the Wizards, but his comments afterward imply that he'll be sidelined against Washington. Once Tillman is healthy, he should operate as the Celtics' primary backup at center behind Kristaps Porzingis.
Feb 7, 2024
Dealt to Boston
The Grizzlies traded Tillman (knee) to the Celtics for two second-round picks Wednesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman is currently dealing with a left knee injury, but there is no indication he should be sidelined for a lengthy period. The 24-year-old big man is averaging 6.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.0 blocks in 20.6 minutes across 34 appearances in 2023-24 for Memphis. With the Celtics, Tillman will likely serve as frontcourt depth alongside Al Horford and Luke Kornet behind Kristaps Porzingis.
Feb 6, 2024
Ruled out Tuesday
Tilman (knee) is out for Tuesday's game against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Tillman and Jaren Jackson (hip) will leave behind a shallow Memphis frontcourt featuring Santi Aldama, Trey Jemison and a myriad of small-ball options. Tillman's next opportunity to take the court comes Thursday against Chicago.
Feb 5, 2024
Doubtful for Tuesday
Tillman (knee) is doubtful for Tuesday's game against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Tillman has already missed the last three games due to injury and is in danger of missing a fourth Tuesday. If he is unable to go, Trey Jemison and Matthew Hurt will likely see big minutes again.
Feb 4, 2024
Officially ruled out
Tillman (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Boston.
ANALYSIS
Tillman was considered doubtful for Sunday's matchup and will officially be unavailable for a third consecutive game due to a left knee injury. The Grizzlies will be extremely shorthanded against the Celtics, so Trey Jamison and Matthew Hurt could see additional run in the frontcourt.
Feb 3, 2024
Unlikely to play vs. Boston
Tillman (knee) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Tillman is in danger of missing his third straight matchup as a result of a left knee injury. With the Michigan State product not expected to go and Jaren Jackson (hip) ruled out, Memphis will likely rely on Santi Aldama, Vince Williams (wrist) and David Roddy to eat up a good chunk of the frontcourt minutes.
Feb 2, 2024
Officially out
Tillman (knee) will not play in Friday's matchup with the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
No surprise here, as Tillman was considered doubtful going into the evening. His absence will mark his second straight missed game. The big man's next chance to return will come Sunday in Boston.
Feb 2, 2024
Unlikely to play Friday
Tillman (knee) is doubtful for Friday's game against the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Tillman was a late scratch for Thursday's matchup due to his knee injury, and he'll likely remain sidelined for the second half of the back-to-back set. If he remains out, Santi Aldama and Jaren Jackson are candidates to see increased run.
Feb 1, 2024
Not expected to play
Tillman is doubtful to play in Thursday's game against the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
This injury was reported a few minutes after tipoff. Santi Aldama started in the frontcourt next to Jaren Jackson and is likely going to see a hefty workload Thursday evening.
Feb 1, 2024
Back to bench Thursday
Xavier Tillman has been relegated back to the bench for Thursday's game against Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
Tillman has been replaced by Vince Williams, who missed Monday's game against the Kings due to a knee injury. He will likely return to his role as the big man among the second unit, backing up Jaren Jackson.
Jan 30, 2024
Serviceable performance in start
Tillman contributed 10 points (5-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt), five rebounds, three assists and three steals across 37 minutes during Monday's 103-94 loss to Sacramento.
ANALYSIS
Tillman moved back into the starting lineup, turning in his best performance in almost two weeks. Since returning from a one-game absence, Tillman had been coming off the bench. A plethora of injuries allowed him to up his playing time, eclipsing 30 minutes. While there is no certainly regarding his role, Tillman is worth grabbing, just in case he can stick in a larger role, at least for the foreseeable future.
Jan 29, 2024
Enters starting five
Tillman is starting Monday's game against the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Tillman will draw his first start since Jan. 18 due to the absence of multiple key rotation players, including Vince Williams (knee), Luke Kennard (knee), John Konchar (ankle) and Marcus Smart (finger). Tillman gets the nod at center, while Jaren Jackson bumps over to power forward and Santi Aldama starts at small forward.
Jan 27, 2024
Passive performance in win
Tillman finished Friday's 107-106 win over the Magic with five points (2-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds, two blocks and one steal over 13 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Tillman continues to play limited minutes off the bench, ending with just five points in 13 minutes. Since returning from injury, Tillman has been unable to find any rhythm on the offensive end. His defensive production is offering a small amount of upside, albeit in slightly deeper formats.
Jan 22, 2024
Active but not starting Monday
Tillman will come off the bench for Monday's game against the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Tillman will come off the bench behind Jaren Jackson and Santi Aldama as the Grizzlies' starting frontcourt. Monday will mark his first game off the bench since Jan. 9 and just his second since Dec. 31.
Jan 22, 2024
Good to go Monday
Tillman (knee) is cleared for Monday's game against Toronto.
ANALYSIS
Tillman returns from a one-game absence due knee soreness. The 25-year-old will likely slot back in as Memphis' starting center alongside Jaren Jackson in the frontcourt, resulting in dips in roles for Santi Aldama, David Roddy and GG Jackson.
Jan 21, 2024
Listed as questionable
Tillman (knee) is questionable for Monday's matchup against the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Tillman joined Memphis' long injury report Saturday and was sidelined for a loss to the Bulls, but he'll have a chance to return Monday. He has started four straight appearances and is averaging 11.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.6 blocks in 32.2 minutes over his last five games.
Jan 20, 2024
Will not suit up
Tillman (knee) will not play in Saturday's game against the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
This is a tough blow for a Memphis team that has already been devastated by injuries. With Tillman sidelined, the Grizzlies could turn to guys like Santi Aldama and David Roddy to soak up some frontcourt minutes. Tillman's next chance to play will be Monday against Toronto.
Jan 20, 2024
Late addition to injury report
Tillman is listed as questionable for Saturday's game versus the Bulls due to left knee soreness.
ANALYSIS
Tillman's late addition to the injury report is a bad sign for his availability Saturday. If Tillman is ruled out, Santi Aldama will likely receive increased playing time.
Jan 14, 2024
Impresses defensively Saturday
Tillman racked up 12 points (6-15 FG, 0-2 3Pt), five rebounds, five assists, one block and six steals in 36 minutes during Saturday's 106-94 loss to New York.
ANALYSIS
Tillman made his presence felt on both ends of the court Saturday despite the loss, as he started for the third time over Memphis' last four games, but there's no question the most impressive aspect of his stat line was the six steals, a season-high mark for him and the seventh time he registers two or more steals in a game. Tillman could move back to the bench once the Grizzlies return to full strength, and if that's the case, then his fantasy upside will be minimal outside of very deep formats.
Jan 13, 2024
Scores season-best 20 points
Tillman accumulated 20 points (8-10 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-7 FT), nine rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal over 31 minutes during Friday's 128-119 loss to the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Tillman found himself in the starting lineup alongside Jaren Jackson to form a big frontcourt, but he wasn't able to do much to stop the Clippers. Tillman left his mark on offense, however, and his 20 points were a season-high mark by a wide margin. This was the sixth time he scored in double digits this season, and three of those outings have come when he's deployed as a starter.
Jan 12, 2024
Starting against Clippers
Tillman will start against the Clippers on Friday.
ANALYSIS
Jaren Jackson (knee) is back from a one-game absence, and Tillman will start alongside him in the frontcourt. The Grizzlies waived Bismack Biyombo to sign Vince Williams to a standard contract, so Tillman could see more consistent workloads going forward if he plays well.
Jan 10, 2024
Double-doubles Tuesday
Tillman notched 14 points (6-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 11 rebounds, two assists and two blocks over 28 minutes during Tuesday's 120-103 victory over Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Tillman was impressive off the bench and delivered arguably his best outing of the season Tuesday, notching his second double-double of the season and just his fifth outing with more than 10 points. The lack of players available in the frontcourt should translate in more minutes for Tillman going forward, but his upside will remain limited as long as he continues to play off the bench.
Jan 8, 2024
Plays three minutes in win
Tillman supplied zero points (0-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and three rebounds in three minutes during Sunday's 121-115 win over the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Tillman wasn't announced as a starter for Sunday's matchup but wound up joining the starting unit while Bismack Biyombo came off the bench. Tillman saw minimal playing time despite the surprise start, and he's now played under 10 minutes in three of his last five appearances. During that time, he's averaged just 1.4 points and 3.0 rebounds in 9.2 minutes per game.
Jan 5, 2024
Back to bench
Tillman will move to the bench for Friday's game against the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Tillman replaced Bismack Biyombo on Wednesday versus Toronto, but he didn't make the most of his opportunity. In 23 minutes, Tillman was held to four points, five rebounds and two assists.
Jan 3, 2024
Lands starting nod
Tillman will start Wednesday's game against the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Tillman will make his seventh start of the campaign -- but just his second since Nov. 2 -- in place of Bismack Biyombo. In his six starts, Tillman averaged 7.7 points and 7.3 rebounds over 26.5 minutes.
Dec 27, 2023
Blocks five shots in victory
Tillman ended Tuesday's 116-115 overtime win over New Orleans with two points (1-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt), eight rebounds, five blocks and one steal across 28 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Tillman racked up a season-high five blocks in the victory, a surprising number for sure. Before Tuesday, Tillman had blocked a combined 13 shots across the first two months of the season. Taking this into account, managers should not be expecting this sort of defensive performance again any time soon. The Grizzlies are likely to be fluent with their center rotation, meaning Tillman is not someone who needs to be rostered outside of deeper formats.
Dec 19, 2023
Returns to bench
Tillman isn't in the starting five for Tuesday's game versus the Pelicans, Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman will be replaced by Bismack Biyombo in the starting lineup Tuesday. Tillman is averaging 5.9 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.3 steals in 15.9 minutes across his previous seven appearances coming off the bench this season.
Dec 18, 2023
Starting at center
Tillman is starting Monday's game against Oklahoma City.
ANALYSIS
Tillman will get the nod at center after it was announced that Bismack Biyombo (back) would miss Monday's contest. This marks Tillman's first start since Nov. 1, when he was held scoreless across 14 minutes against the Jazz.
Dec 2, 2023
Delivers defensively in return
Tillman (knee) scored four points (2-6 FG, 0-3 3Pt) and added two rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks across 22 minutes in Friday's 108-94 win over Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Tillman made his return to action after sitting out the Grizzlies' previous six games while recovering from a left knee injury. Though his season-long shooting struggles continued -- he's now converting at just a 41.4 percent clip from the field through eight appearances -- Tillman was able to offset the poor offensive output by shining on the defensive end. Bismack Biyombo remains the Grizzlies' starting center for now, but Tillman could eventually overtake him for the top spot on the depth chart once the knee injury is further in the rear-view mirror.
Dec 1, 2023
Set to play Friday
Tillman (knee) is available for Friday's game versus the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Tillman has been upgraded from questionable to available Friday after missing the previous six games with a left knee injury. Tillman is averaging 9.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.6 steals in 25.9 minutes across his first seven appearances this season.
Dec 1, 2023
Questionable for Friday
Tillman (knee) is questionable for Friday's game against the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Tillman has missed six straight games due to a left knee injury but has a chance to suit up Friday. Even if the Michigan State product is cleared, he'll presumably handle a reserve role behind Bismack Biyombo, who's drawn 11 straight starts in the Grizzlies' depleted frontcourt.
Nov 28, 2023
Remains out Wednesday
Tillman (knee) won't play in Wednesday's game versus the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Tillman will miss his sixth straight game Wednesday while dealing with a left knee injury. Bismack Biyombo should continue to start in his absence. While the Grizzlies are treating Tillman as week-to-week, his next chance to suit up is Friday's matchup with Dallas.
Nov 20, 2023
Return not imminent
Tillman is considered week-to-week in his recovery from a left knee injury.
ANALYSIS
Details have been scarce on Tillman's knee injury, but he has missed six of the Grizzlies' past seven games. Bismack Biyombo has supplied 7.6 points and 8.4 rebounds in 24.3 minutes per game in his stead, while Jaren Jackson continues to produce at a career-high offensive volume in Memphis' shorthanded rotation.
Nov 19, 2023
Remains out Sunday
Tillman (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup against the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Tillman returned to action Tuesday after a four-game absence, but he'll miss both halves of the Grizzlies' weekend back-to-back set. It's unclear if he aggravated the issue or if Memphis is simply being cautious. With Steven Adams (knee) and Brandon Clarke (knee) likely out for the season, Tillman's ongoing absence has created more opportunities for Bismack Biyombo and Kenneth Lofton.
Nov 17, 2023
Sitting out Saturday
Tillman won't play in Saturday's game versus the Spurs due to left knee injury recovery.
ANALYSIS
Tillman returned to action Tuesday after missing the previous four contests with a knee injury. It doesn't appear that the 24-year-old big man has aggravated his injury, but the Grizzlies are playing it cautiously on the first night of the team's back-to-back Saturday. Bismack Biyombo and Kenneth Lofton will likely receive increased minutes in his absence.
Nov 15, 2023
Offers efficient scoring in return
Tillman (knee) played 22 minutes in Tuesday's 134-107 loss to the Lakers, finishing with 15 points (6-7 FG, 3-3 3Pt), two rebounds, two assists and one steal.
ANALYSIS
After Steven Adams (knee) was ruled out for the season just days before the Oct. 25 opener, Tillman served as the Grizzlies' starting center for five of the team's first six games before missing four straight contests with left knee soreness. While Tillman got the green light to return to action Tuesday, he ended up coming off the bench, but he still split the playing time at center fairly evenly with starter Bismack Biyombo (23 minutes). The Grizzlies haven't outlined their plans for the center spot moving forward, but Tillman would represent a higher-ceiling fantasy option than Biyombo if he ends up getting the majority of the minutes at the position. Biyombo is probably the superior per-minute producer in terms of field-goal percentage, rebounds and blocks, but Tillman doesn't lag far behind him in those categories and offers more upside in the other categories.
Nov 14, 2023
Available Tuesday
Tillman (knee) is available for Tuesday's game against the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
This will be Tillman's first game back since Nov. 3, but there's no word of any restrictions. Bismack Biyombo has fared really well in Tillman's absence, and it's possible that Biyombo continues to hold onto the starting job.
Nov 13, 2023
Questionable Tuesday
Tillman (knee) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Tillman hasn't taken the court since Nov. 3 while tending to a knee injury. Bismack Biyombo would be in line for another start at center if Tillman is unable to go in LA.
Nov 12, 2023
Downgraded to out
Tillman (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Tillman has been downgraded from doubtful to out and will miss a fourth straight game due to a left knee injury. Bismack Biyombo and Kenneth Lofton remain candidates for increased playing time in Tillman's absence.
Nov 11, 2023
Unlikely to go Sunday
Tillman (knee) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Tillman has missed his team's last three contests while tending to a left knee injury, and he appears on track to miss a fourth. Bismack Biyombo and Kenneth Lofton should continue to see an uptick in opportunities at center assuming Tillman is ultimately confirmed as out for Sunday's matchup.
Nov 9, 2023
Still out Friday
Tillman (knee) is out for Friday's game against the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Tillman is still recovering from a left knee injury and will miss a third straight game. Bismack Biyombo should continue starting at center for the time being.
Nov 7, 2023
Downgraded to out
Tillman (knee) won't play in Wednesday's game versus the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Tillman will miss his second straight game Wednesday while dealing with left knee soreness. Bismack Biyombo will likely draw another start in his absence. Tillman's next chance to suit up is Friday's matchup with Utah.
Nov 7, 2023
Questionable Wednesday
Tillman (knee) is regarded as day-to-day, Drew Hill of The Daily Memphian reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman is dealing with left knee soreness. He was a late scratch for Sunday's win over Portland and his next opportunity to take the court is Wednesday versus Miami.
Nov 5, 2023
Late scratch Sunday
Tillman has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Trail Blazers due to left knee soreness.
ANALYSIS
Tillman was initially listed among the starters for Sunday's matchup but was scratched after the scheduled tipoff time. Bismack Biyombo will take his place in the starting lineup.
Nov 5, 2023
Back in starting lineup
Tillman is starting Sunday against the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Tillman came off the bench Friday against Portland, but he'll reclaim a starting role Sunday while David Roddy operates as a reserve. Tillman has averaged 8.8 points and 7.6 rebounds in 27.0 minutes per game over five starts to begin the season.
Nov 3, 2023
Moves to bench
Tillman will come off the bench for Friday's game against Portland.
ANALYSIS
The Grizzlies are mixing it up Friday, as they are looking to snap their 5-game losing streak. Tillman is coming off a major dud against the Jazz on Wednesday, as he finished scoreless in 14 minutes.
Oct 28, 2023
Solid effort against Nuggets
Tillman logged 13 points (5-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-4 FT), eight rebounds, two assists, two blocks and three steals in 34 minutes during Friday's 108-104 loss to Denver.
ANALYSIS
Matched up against Nikola Jokic, Tillman held his own and delivered some impressive defensive stats, although he also committed five turnovers and five fouls. The 24-year-old will continue to see big minutes at center with Steven Adams (knee), Brandon Clarke (Achilles) and Santi Aldama (ankle) all sidelined, although the latter should be back on the court quickly. Even once Aldama is back in the frontcourt rotation, Tillman figures to remain the starter in the middle for the Grizzlies, although he may not keep seeing over 30 minutes a night.
Oct 26, 2023
Dominant against New Orleans
Tillman finished with 17 points (7-16 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 12 rebounds, four assists, one block and three steals across 34 minutes during Wednesday's 111-104 loss to New Orleans.
ANALYSIS
Tillman had some struggles with efficiency Wednesday, but he still had a high shot volume and managed to open the season with a double-double while also leading the team in steals. The 24-year-old averaged 7.0 points and 5.0 rebounds in 19.3 minutes per game last year but should have plenty of opportunities to contribute during the 2023-24 campaign since Steven Adams (knee) has been ruled out for the season.
Oct 20, 2023
Gets the start
Tillman will start Friday's preseason game against the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Steven Adams is getting another night off, but Tillman will get a look in the first unit this time around at the expense of Santi Aldama. Tillman will need a big performance if he wants to win the backup center job over Aldama.
Oct 12, 2023
Won't start against Hawks
Tillman is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Tillman got the nod in the preseason opener, but he will make way for Steven Adams in this one. Tillman notched six points, eight rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block across 19 minutes against the Bucks on Tuesday.
Oct 10, 2023
Gets starting nod Tuesday
Tillman is in the starting five for Tuesday's preseason game against the Bucks, Damichael Cole of The Commercial Appeal reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman will replace Steven Adams in the starting lineup Tuesday. However, this move is unlikely to trickle over into the regular season, as the Grizzlies seem to be testing out different lineups during the preseason.
Jun 26, 2023
Sticking in Memphis
The Grizzlies exercised the $1.93 million team option for 2023-24 on Tillman's contract Monday.
ANALYSIS
With Steven Adams (knee) and Brandon Clarke (Achilles) sidelined, Tillman saw an expanded role at the end of the 2022-23 campaign and finished with career highs in points (7.0), rebounds (5.0), assists (1.6) and steals (1.0) per game. The 24-year-old started 12 of Memphis' 18 playoff games, averaging 5.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 18.9 minutes. Even if Adams and Clarke are back to full strength next year, Tillman should still carve out a solid reserve role.
Apr 20, 2023
Impresses against Lakers
Tillman logged 22 points (10-13 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 13 rebounds and three assists over 32 minutes during Wednesday's 103-93 victory over the Lakers in Game 2 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals.
ANALYSIS
Tillman delivered one of the best performances of his career when the Grizzlies needed him the most, as he outplayed Anthony Davis and looked dominant on both ends of the court en route to a huge Game 2 win. It was Tillman's first double-double since March 18, and he figures to remain in the starting unit going forward with Steven Adams (knee) and Brandon Clarke (Achilles) out.
Apr 16, 2023
Officially starting
Tillman will start Sunday's Game 1 tilt against the Lakers, Harrison Faigen of SBNation.com reports.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Tillman will start at center with Steven Adams (knee) and Brandon Clarke (Achilles) out. The Michigan State product figures to be a vital part of the Grizzlies postseason rotation, but Memphis is also expected to feature a smaller lineup with Jaren Jackson at the five.
Apr 16, 2023
Expected to start Game 1
Head coach Taylor Jenkins said Tillman will likely start Sunday's Game 1 tilt against the Lakers, Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.
ANALYSIS
With Steven Adams (knee) and Brandon Clarke (Achilles) both out for the season, Tillman figures to be a vital part of the Grizzlies' rotation during their postseason run. Across 29 regular-season starts, the Michigan State product averaged 9.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 steals in 27.2 minutes.
Apr 6, 2023
Not on injury report
Tillman (ankle) isn't on the injury report for Friday's game against Milwaukee.
ANALYSIS
Tillman sat out Wednesday against the Pelicans due to an ankle issue, but he'll be back in action two days later. Over his last five appearances, he's averaged 11.2 points and 7.6 rebounds in 28.2 minutes per game.
Apr 5, 2023
Out Wednesday
Tillman (ankle) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game in New Orleans.
ANALYSIS
With Tillman watching from the sidelines Wednesday night, Santi Aldama will likely get a spot start and Kenneth Lofton might be able to get into the rotation. Considering Tillman is only skipping this game due to some soreness in his ankle, there's a decent chance he'll be able to return for Friday's game in Milwaukee.
Apr 5, 2023
Status uncertain Wednesday
Tillman is questionable for Wednesday's game versus the Pelicans due to right ankle soreness.
ANALYSIS
Tillman is in danger of missing his first game since Jan. 22 on Wednesday. Santi Aldama would likely receive an increased workload if Tillman is ultimately ruled out.
Mar 30, 2023
Continues strong play
Tillman posted 16 points (7-8 FG, 2-3 FT), nine rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal across 31 minutes during Wednesday's 141-132 loss to the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Tillman was one rebound away from a double-double in his second straight game. However, he was able to tie his season high for assists Wednesday. Tillman is averaging 11.4 points, 9.2 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.4 steals in 29.2 minutes across his last five outings.
Mar 29, 2023
Available Wednesday
Tillman (ankle) will play in Wednesday's game against the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Tillman was tabbed questionable with right ankle soreness but has been cleared to play in Wednesday's tilt. He should be expected to maintain his starting center spot, a role in which he has averaged 9.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.5 rebounds and 1.4 steals over 27.4 minutes.
Mar 29, 2023
Questionable Wednesday
Tillman is questionable for Wednesday's game versus the Clippers due to right ankle soreness.
ANALYSIS
Tillman has started in Memphis' last 17 games, so his potential absence could move Santi Aldama into the starting lineup, or force the Grizzlies to go small. If Tillman is unable to suit up, his next chance to do so will be Friday's rematch with the Clippers.
Mar 29, 2023
Nears double-double in win
Tillman ended Tuesday's 113-108 win over the Magic with 20 points (10-12 FG), nine rebounds, one assist and one steal across 35 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Tillman has had limited production on the scoreboard in recent weeks, but he reached the 20-point threshold for the first time this season Tuesday while also coming within one rebound of a double-double. Over 15 appearances this month, he's averaged 10.2 points and 6.4 rebounds in 27.0 minutes per game.
Mar 27, 2023
Back on track Sunday
Tillman finished Sunday's 123-119 win over the Hawks with 15 points (7-10 FG, 1-2 FT), eight rebounds, three assists, two blocks and three steals over 31 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Tillman turned in a strong two-way effort Sunday, rewarding anyone who snapped him up off waivers. After a stretch of mediocre performances, Tillman eclipsed 30 minutes for the first time in over a week. While he is locked in as the starting center, the Grizzlies are not afraid to run with Jaren Jackson to close games, making Tillman a viable, yet unpredictable streaming option.
Mar 19, 2023
Bounces back with double-double
Tillman finished with 14 points (6-10 FG, 2-2 FT), 10 rebounds, five assists and two steals in 32 minutes during Saturday's 133-119 win over the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Despite sticking in a starting role, Tillman had cooled off in his previous three games, averaging just 9.3 points and 4.7 rebounds across 22.7 minutes. The big man bounced back with a strong effort Saturday, recording his first double-double since March 7 and his fourth overall this season. Tillman should remain a starter with Steven Adams (knee) expected to be out several more weeks, and he's doing enough to be worthy of a roster spot in most fantasy formats despite some inconsistency.
Mar 16, 2023
Unproductive Wednesday
Tillman posted eight points (4-6 FG), three rebounds and three assists in 23 minutes during Wednesday's 138-119 loss to Miami.
ANALYSIS
Tillman failed to shine in the heavy loss, continuing what has been a somewhat underwhelming week. Despite having both hands on the starting role, he has been unable to make the most of the favorable situation. He remains a viable option based on his role, but for anyone needing immediate production, his upside doesn't appear high enough to warrant a must-roster tag.
Mar 14, 2023
Chips in across the board
Tillman had eight points (3-4 FG, 2-3 FT), five rebounds, two assists, one block and three steals in 24 minutes during Monday's 104-88 win over the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Tillman played just 24 minutes in the win, limited as a result of a dominant team victory. With the Grizzlies very thin on center options for the remainder of the season, Tillman has quickly catapulted himself into must-roster territory. While there will be nights where his playing time is limited, there is certainly enough meat on the bone for him to be viable across a range of team builds.
Mar 9, 2023
Increased role to continue
Tillman will be in line for increased minutes through the end of the regular season after the Grizzlies announced Thursday that Steven Adams (knee) will miss at least four more weeks.
ANALYSIS
While this is a major blow for the Grizzlies, and fantasy managers holding Adams in an IR spot, it's a significant windfall for Tillman, who's started 12 of the last 14 games and averaged 27.3 minutes per contest in the absence of Adams. With both Adams and Brandon Clarke (Achilles) done for the season, Tillman should have no trouble holding onto his increased role down the stretch, making him a viable option in most fantasy leagues. Since the All-Star break (seven games), Tillman is averaging 11.0 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.9 blocks in 30.3 minutes per game.
Mar 8, 2023
Records double-double in loss
Tillman recorded 11 points (5-9 FG, 1-2 FT), 10 rebounds, two assists, one block and four steals in 32 minutes during Tuesday's 112-103 loss to the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Although Steven Adams (knee) is expected back soon, Tillman has been excellent in relief, logging three double-doubles in six starts. He's averaged 11.5 points, 8.0 rebounds ands 3.0 assists during his recent tenure with the starting five.
Mar 4, 2023
Double-doubles in loss
Tillman amassed 11 points (4-8 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 10 rebounds and four assists in 30 minutes during Friday's 113-97 loss to the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
With Steven Adams (knee) out, Tillman continues to garner a sizable role in the Grizzlies frontcourt and is averaging 8.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.7 blocks in 26.2 minutes over his past 13 appearances (10 starts). Brandon Clarke (lower leg) left Friday's matchup early, so if he joins Adams on the sidelines moving forward, Tillman's grasp on top center position would only grow tighter. However, regardless of how many minutes he plays, Tillman figures to remain a plug-and-play option as opposed to a must-start player in fantasy.
Mar 4, 2023
Double-doubles against Denver
Tillman closed Friday's 113-97 loss to Denver with 11 points (4-8 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 10 rebounds and four assists across 30 minutes.
ANALYSIS
This was the second double-double of the season for Tillman and more could be on the horizon. Steven Adams (knee) still doesn't have a return date set in stone, and Brandon Clarke suffered a potentially serious leg injury Friday. Tillman can produce across the stat sheet and is likely to be scooped up in a lot of fantasy leagues after this performance.
Mar 1, 2023
Posts double-double Tuesday
Tillman finished with 18 points (9-17 FG, 0-1 3Pt), 11 rebounds, two assists, one block and two steals in 32 minutes during Tuesday's 121-109 win over the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Tillman made his second straight start and posted his best performance of the campaign, leading Memphis with 11 boards and finishing second with 18 points. The double-double was just the third of his career, with the others coming during his rookie campaign two seasons ago. While the big man has looked great in each of his past two contests, his fantasy value will likely dissipate whenever Steven Adams (knee) is able to return to action, which could happen within the next two weeks.
Feb 26, 2023
Perfect from field Saturday
Tillman accumulated 12 points (6-6 FG), seven rebounds, four assists and one block across 25 minutes during Saturday's 112-94 victory over the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Tillman made the most of the opportunity here and was extremely efficient while coming close to posting a double-double. Tillman has started in seven of Memphis' nine games in February and is averaging 7.3 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game in that span.
Feb 25, 2023
Starting Saturday
Tillman will start Saturday's game against the Nuggets, Rob Fischer of Bally Sports Southeast reports.
ANALYSIS
After a two-game stint as a reserve, Tillman returns to the starting five while Brandon Clarke comes off the bench. In Tillman's past six starts, he's averaged 7.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.3 steals in 26.3 minutes.
Feb 24, 2023
Snags 12 boards
Tillman accumulated eight points (2-6 FG, 4-6 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists, one block and two steals over 32 minutes during Thursday's 110-105 loss to the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Tillman led Memphis in rebounding despite coming off the bench in this one. He saw a sizeable uptick in playing time coming out of the All-Star break and outplayed starter Brandon Clarke 32 minutes to 15. Tillman has fared well across the board when given the opportunity, as he's now averaging 7.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.4 steals in his last seven contests with 20-plus minutes logged.
Feb 15, 2023
Moves to bench
Tillman isn't in the starting five for Wednesday's game versus the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Brandon Clarke will replace Tillman in the starting lineup Wednesday. The 23-year-old big man is averaging 4.4 points and 3.2 rebounds in 11.2 minutes across his 29 previous games coming off the bench.
Feb 6, 2023
Solid game as starter
Tillman contributed 12 points (4-7 FG, 4-7 FT), nine rebounds, three assists and one steal over 32 minutes during Sunday's 106-103 loss to the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Tillman got his third straight start Sunday and made the most of it, ending just one rebound away from a double-double and leaving his mark on both ends of the court. Steven Adams remains out due to a knee injury and is not expected to return until next week at the earliest, so Tillman should remain in the first unit when the Grizzlies take on the Bulls on Tuesday.
Feb 1, 2023
Solid showing in start
Tillman closed with four points (1-4 FG, 2-3 FT), 10 rebounds, five assists and four steals across 28 minutes during Wednesday's 122-112 loss to the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
While he didn't add much offense, Tillman's overall line delivered some value. In the five games Steven Adams (knee) has missed so far, Tillman has started two games at center while Brandon Clarke has gotten the nod in three, and the duo will likely continue swapping between the first and second units depending on matchups until Adams returns.
Feb 1, 2023
Rejoins starting unit
Tillman is in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game versus Portland, Rob Fischer of Bally Sports Southeast reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman will replace Brandon Clarke in the starting five Thursday. The 23-year-old big man will get the starting nod after posting a season-high 11 rebounds in his previous contest.
Jan 29, 2023
Season high in rebounds off bench
Tillman provided nine points (4-7 FG, 1-2 FT), 11 rebounds and two assists in 25 minutes during Sunday's 112-100 victory over the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Tillman posted a team-high rebounding total while finishing one point short of a double-double outing Sunday. Tillman set a season-high mark in rebounds, having hauled in five or more boards in four straight games.
Jan 25, 2023
Slides back to second unit
Tillman will come off the bench in Wednesday's matchup with the Warriors, Anthony Slater of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman saw the spot start Monday against Sacramento with Steven Adams (knee) sidelined but will return to the bench in favor of the smaller Brandon Clarke. Clarke's appearance in the first unit could be a counter to the Warriors' small ball lineup that features Draymond Green at the five considering Tillman saw the start against the much larger Domantas Sabonis. Considering Adams is slated to miss 3-to-5 weeks, Tillman should see plenty of action moving forward.
Jan 24, 2023
Scores 10 points in spot start
Tillman provided 10 points (5-6 FG), six rebounds, two assists, one block and two steals over 30 minutes during Monday's 133-100 loss to Sacramento.
ANALYSIS
Tillman didn't play in any of Memphis' previous three games, but he was pressed into action as a starter Monday with Steven Adams (knee) unable to play. Tillman wasn't aggressive on offense, but he tied his season high with 10 points on the strength of an efficient 5-for-6 shooting mark. The third-year big man could see an uptick in production if Adams misses more time, but otherwise Tillman isn't likely to see the court enough to have viable fantasy value.
Jan 23, 2023
Draws start Monday
Tillman is starting Monday's contest against the Kings, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman will slide into Memphis' starting lineup with Steven Adams on the sidelines with a knee injury. Tillman has started one game this season, recording nine points (4-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-3 FT), nine rebounds, three assists and three steals across 33 minutes of play.
Jan 18, 2023
Back with parent club
The Grizzlies recalled Tillman from the G League's Memphis Hustle on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Tillman will be available for Wednesday's game against the Cavaliers following a one-day stint in the G League. He suited up for the Hustle in Tuesday's 140-131 win over the Santa Cruz Warriors, finishing with 14 points (5-9 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six assists, five rebounds, one steal and one block in 25 minutes.
Jan 9, 2023
Spot start garners solid production
Tillman supplied nine points (4-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-3 FT), nine rebounds, three assists and three steals in 33 minutes during Sunday's 123-118 win over Utah.
ANALYSIS
Tillman replaced Steven Adams (illness) in the starting lineup Sunday, walking away with one of his better performances of the season. He fell agonizingly short of his first double-double of the season, while also adding a season-high three steals. The Grizzlies will face the Spurs on Monday, meaning Adams could once again be given the night off. Should that be the case, Tillman would make for a viable streaming option across most formats.
Jan 8, 2023
Will make first start of season
Tillman will start Sunday's game against the Jazz, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
With Steven Adams (illness) sidelined, Tillman will draw a spot start at center next to Jaren Jackson in the Grizzlies' frontcourt. This will mark Tillman's first start of the season and just his third since his rookie campaign in 2020. Santi Aldama figures to garner a sizable role off the bench in Adams' absence as well, so despite starting, Tillman's role may not change all that drastically. Tillman is averaging 4.2 points and 2.6 rebounds in 10.4 minutes over 22 appearances off the bench this season.
Dec 31, 2022
Recalled by Grizzlies
Tillman was recalled from the G League's Memphis Hustle on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Tillman was sent to the G League on Friday but will rejoin the parent club a day later. He's averaging 3.9 points and 2.3 rebounds in 9.8 minutes per game with the Grizzlies this year and should be available Saturday against the Pelicans.
Dec 28, 2022
Impressive in limited run
Tillman had nine points (4-4 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 0-2 FT) and three rebounds in seven minutes during Tuesday's 125-108 loss to Phoenix.
ANALYSIS
All seven of Tillman's minutes came in garbage time, so his production should be viewed in that context. Still, this was one of his better games of the campaign, as he was perfect from the field and scored over a point per minute while also grabbing three boards. Tillman had played just seven combined minutes over Memphis' previous four games, so there's no expectation that he'll suddenly become a key part of the team's rotation.
Dec 4, 2022
Gets chance off bench
Tillman recorded six points (2-4 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, one assist, two blocks and two steals in 18 minutes during Sunday's 122-112 victory over Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Tillman appeared in just his second game since Nov. 7, but he shot well in limited chances and also contributed across the board. He recorded his first block since the first matchup of the season and turned in his best rebounding performance since Oct. 31. Tillman typically doesn't play much of a role within his Memphis rotation, but he received a chance Sunday with Steven Adams (hip) sidelined.
Nov 27, 2022
Available to play Sunday
Tillman (illness) is available for Sunday's game against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Tillman isn't a regular part of the rotation and shouldn't play a regular role here, as he's failed to take the court in seven of the team's last eight games.
Nov 26, 2022
Questionable Sunday
Tillman (illness) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Tillman isn't a regular part of the rotation. His potential absence won't affect fantasy.
Nov 25, 2022
Ruled out Friday
Tillman (illness) will not suit up Friday against the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Tillman joins fellow big Santi Aldama (illness) as out for the Grizzlies, leaving the frontcourt minutes to Steven Adams (illness), Jaren Jackson and Brandon Clarke Friday. His next opportunity to suit up will come Sunday against the Knicks.
Nov 25, 2022
Added to injury report
Tillman is listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Pelicans due to a non-COVID illness.
ANALYSIS
Tillman has split time between the NBA and the G League this season and with Jaren Jackson back doesn't seem to hold a steady role with the Grizzlies. However, considering Steven Adams (illness) and Santi Aldama (illness) may not play Friday Tillman could be thrust into the rotation if he were to suit up. If not, look toward Jake LaRavia and Brandon Clarke to receive more run.
Nov 21, 2022
Will rejoin Hustle for one game
Tillman was assigned to the Memphis Hustle of the G League on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Tillman will join the Hustle for their home game Monday, then will head right back up to the Grizzlies roster for their game Tuesday against Sacramento. Tillman has appeared in just nine games thus far, averaging 3.3 points and 2.6 rebounds across 10.4 minutes per game.
Nov 18, 2022
Recalled to Grizzlies
The Grizzlies recalled Tillman from the Memphis Hustle of the G League on Friday.
ANALYSIS
Tillman will be available for Friday's game against the Thunder. The third-year big man has appeared in eight games this season for the Grizzlies but is only averaging 11.4 minutes per game.
Nov 16, 2022
Assigned to G League
The Grizzlies assigned Tillman to the Memphis Hustle of the G League on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Tillman joins Kennedy Chandler on the Hustle for Thursday's game at Rio Grande Valley. However, both will be recalled to the Grizzlies for Friday's game versus the Thunder. Tillman is averaging 3.5 points and 2.9 rebounds in 11.4 minutes across eight games this season.
Oct 23, 2022
Logs nine minutes in heavy loss
Tillman racked up seven points (3-4 FG, 1-2 3Pt), two rebounds and one assist over nine minutes during Saturday's 137-96 loss to the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Tillman, along with a host of other fringe players, saw additional run Saturday as the Grizzlies were soundly beaten by the Mavericks. Even with Jaren Jackson on the shelf due to a knee injury, Tillman has been unable to carve out a consistent role. Outside of injuries to other players, he can be safely left on waivers.
Oct 1, 2022
Won't face Milwaukee
Tillman (rest) won't be available for Saturday's preseason game against the Bucks, according to Eric Nehm of The Athletic.
ANALYSIS
While Tillman is not a key component of the rotation, the coaching staff decided to rest him. He is not expected to miss any time once the regular campaign kicks in.
Oct 1, 2022
Won't face Milwaukee
Tillman (rest) won't be available for Saturday's preseason game against the Bucks, according to Eric Nehm of The Athletic.
ANALYSIS
While Tillman is not a key component of the team's rotation, the coaching staff decided to rest him for this postseason game. He is not expected to miss any time once the regular season kicks in, though.
May 9, 2022
Takes seat for Game 4
Tillman isn't starting Monday's Game 4 against the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Tillman has started the last six contests for the Grizzlies, but Memphis will switch up the starting five with Ja Morant (knee) ruled out for this one. The Michigan State product should still see a sizeable workload Monday evening.
Apr 23, 2022
Starting Game 4
Tillman will start Game 4 against the Timberwolves on Saturday, Alan Horton of the Timberwolves Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman didn't play in the series opener, but he averaged 9.0 points and 5.0 rebounds in 18.5 minutes over the past two games. Kyle Anderson started in Game 3 but will now come off the bench.
Apr 20, 2022
Efficient off bench
Tillman provided 13 points (6-7 FG, 1-1 FT) and seven rebounds in 21 minutes during Tuesday's 124-96 win over Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Tillman recorded his second-highest scoring output of the season. The second-year center has seen a huge uptick in minutes since the end of March and he's been making the most of them. Look for him to stay productive in Game 3.
Apr 11, 2022
Meager output in loss
Tillman closed with five points (2-10 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds, two assists and two steals over 35 minutes during Sunday's 139-110 loss to the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
With Steven Adams (ankle) out and Brandon Clark (thigh) only available in an emergency, Tillman drew his second start of the season. The second-year big man struggled from the field but made the most of his increased opportunity by registering multiple steals. Tillman finished the regular season with averages of 4.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 13.2 minutes across 53 appearances.
Apr 10, 2022
Starting Sunday
Tillman is starting Sunday's game against the Celtics, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman came off the bench in each of his last three appearances and averaged 4.3 points in 9.3 minutes per game. He'll start in Sunday's regular-season finale since Steven Adams (ankle) is out.
Apr 1, 2022
Garners first start of season
Tillman is in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Suns, Rob Fischer of Bally Sports Southeast reports.
ANALYSIS
Starting center Steven Adams (calf) will not play Friday, so Tillman will join the starting lineup for the first time all season. Tillman has made some noise of late, averaging 9.7 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists over his last three appearances.
Mar 25, 2022
Posts season-best point total
Tillman contributed 16 points (6-9 FG, 4-6 FT), five rebounds, one block and one steal over 24 minutes during Thursday's 133-103 victory over the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Memphis built a 26-point lead by halftime and extended the margin to 36 entering the fourth quarter, giving Tillman a chance to see more than his usual share of playing time. The second-year center responded with one of his best performances of the season, posting a season-high 16 points. Tillman entered the game averaging only four minutes over his previous eight appearances, so he doesn't figure to play a big role for the team down the stretch.
Mar 7, 2022
Absent from injury report
Tillman (personal) isn't on the injury report ahead of Tuesday's game against New Orleans.
ANALYSIS
Tillman was unavailable for Sunday's game against Houston while tending to a personal matter, but he'll be back if needed for Tuesday's matchup. He hasn't played much of a role in the Grizzlies' rotation of late, averaging 2.9 points and 1.6 rebounds in 6.1 minutes over his last seven matchups.
Mar 6, 2022
Unavailable Sunday
Tillman is unavailable for Sunday's contest due to personal reasons.
ANALYSIS
Tillman has played 11 total minutes over his last four appearances, so his absence shouldn't impact Memphis' rotation. His next chance to suit up will come Tuesday against the Pelicans.
Feb 23, 2022
Not on injury report
Tillman (thigh) is not listed on the Grizzlies' injury report ahead of Thursday's game at Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
A thigh injury kept Tillman out of the final five games before the break, but he'll return to availability Thursday as the Grizzlies look to stay hot. Even before the injury, the Michigan State product's role had begun to slip, so it's unclear if he'll be a part of the regular rotation down the stretch.
Feb 16, 2022
Out again Wednesday
Tillman (thigh) has been ruled out for Wednesday's contest against the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Tillman is set to miss a fifth straight contest due to right thigh soreness. His next chance to suit up will be when the Grizzlies return to action following the All-Star break against the Timberwolves on Feb. 24.
Feb 14, 2022
Remains out Tuesday
Tillman (thigh) won't play Tuesday against the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Tillman is set to miss his fourth straight contest due to right thigh soreness. His next chance at a return arrives Wednesday against Portland.
Feb 11, 2022
Still out Saturday
Tillman (thigh) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Tillman will be unable to suit up once again. His next chance to play will be Tuesday against New Orleans.
Feb 9, 2022
Won't play Thursday
Tillman has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Pistons due to right thigh soreness.
ANALYSIS
Tillman has appeared in just two of the last seven games, but he'll be unable to suit up Thursday. His absence won't impact the Grizzlies' rotation.
Jan 24, 2022
Small role off bench
Tillman contributed six points (3-3 FG), three rebounds and one steal over 16 minutes during Sunday's 104-91 loss to Dallas.
ANALYSIS
With Brandon Clarke (back) and Kyle Anderson (COVID-19 protocols) sidelined, Tillman saw a slightly increased role off the bench. However, it still wasn't sizable enough to produce a stat line worthy of fantasy consideration. Over his last eight games, Tillman has averaged 3.6 points and 2.5 rebounds in 11.4 minutes.
Jan 9, 2022
Lifted from injury report
Tillman (COVID-19 health and safety protocols) isn't included on the injury report ahead of Sunday's game against the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Tillman has missed Memphis' last five contests while in the protocols, so he likely won't be asked to play major minutes in his first game back in action. The second-year big man hasn't been a big contributor when active this season, as he cleared the 20-minute mark only four times in his last 13 appearances before entering the protocols.
Jan 8, 2022
Out vs. Clippers
Tillman (COVID-19 protocols) is out Saturday against the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Tillman was initially questionable but remains in protocols. His next chance to play is Sunday against the Lakers.
Jan 7, 2022
Questionable Saturday
Tillman (COVID-19 protocols) is questionable for Saturday's game against the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Tillman has been in the league's health and safety protocols since Dec. 30 but has a chance to return Saturday. Even if he's available, he could face a minutes restriction against the Clippers.
Dec 30, 2021
Enters protocols
Tillman entered health and safety protocols Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Tillman has been a consistent rotation presence this season. In his absence, more minutes could go to Killian Tillie and Brandon Clarke.
Dec 21, 2021
Logs 20 minutes as Grizzlies fall
Tillman provided eight points (4-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt), two rebounds and one steal over 20 minutes during Monday's 102-99 loss to the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Tillman continues to see regular minutes off the bench for the Grizzlies but is yet to make the most of his opportunity. Despite the odd flash, he is really only a deeper league commodity, outside of potential streaming value on nights when the team is well down on troops.
Nov 2, 2021
Posts solid line Monday
Tillman totaled 12 points (5-7 FG, 2-3 FT), five rebounds and one steal across 17 minutes in a 106-97 win against Denver on Monday.
ANALYSIS
The former Michigan State Spartan made the most of his time on the court, scoring in double figures for the first time this season and chipping in five boards. Though Tillman isn't playing enough minutes to warrant much interest in fantasy, he has flashed some potential with per-36-minute averages of 11.1 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.9 steals.
Oct 21, 2021
DNP in season opener
Tillman did not play due to a DNP-Coach's Decision during Wednesday's season-opening victory over the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Tillman was a meaningful part of the Grizzlies' rotation last season, with the rookie averaging 6.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 18.4 minutes. However, coach Taylor Jenkins kept the frontcourt rotation tight with Jaren Jackson, Steven Adams, Brandon Clarke and Kyle Anderson.
May 15, 2021
Notches double-double in start
Tillman posted 16 points (7-8 FG, 2-4 FT), 10 rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block across 31 minutes in Friday's win over the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Tillman has started five games since the beginning of April and has experienced an uptick in his playing time, He's averaging 12.6 points and 9.6 rebounds per game in five starts over the last two months.
May 11, 2021
Starting vs. Mavs
Tillman will start Tuesday's contest against the Mavericks, Chris Herrington of The Daily Memphian reports.
ANALYSIS
With Jonas Valanciunas (back) and Jaren Jackson (knee) sidelined, Tillman will draw the start at center. In his 10 previous starts, he's averaged 10.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.0 blocks in 26.4 minutes.
May 7, 2021
Off injury report
Tillman (illness) is off the injury report for Saturday's contest against the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
After sitting out Thursday's game against the Pistons due to an illness, Tillman will be back in action Saturday. Over his past five appearances, he's averaged 5.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 15.4 minutes.
May 6, 2021
Out vs. Pistons
Tillman is out for Thursday's contest against the Pistons due to an illness.
ANALYSIS
Tillman will miss just his second game since March 27. In his absence, more minutes will be available for Brandon Clarke, Killian Tillie and Jaren Jackson.
Apr 25, 2021
Plays 18 minutes off bench
Tillman finished Sunday's win over the Blazers with two points (1-1 FG), four rebounds and one block in 18 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Tillman had a productive three-game run with Jonas Valanciunas (concussion) out of the lineup, but, as expected, his role decreased with the big man making his return Sunday afternoon. As long as Valanciunas is healthy, Tillman is only a deeper-leagues consideration when it comes to fantasy.
Apr 25, 2021
Back to bench
Tillman will come off the bench for Sunday's game against Portland, Rob Fischer of Fox Sports Southeast reports.
ANALYSIS
With the return of Jonas Valanciunas (concussion), Tillman will head back to the bench after three-consecutive starts. It was fun while it lasted for the 22-year-old in the starting lineup, as he averaged 12.7 points, 10.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.7 steals per game over the last three outings.
Apr 22, 2021
Grabs 12 boards in loss Wednesday
Tillman had eight points (4-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt), 12 rebounds, two assists and two steals in 28 minutes during Wednesday's 117-105 loss to the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Tillman had himself another productive game as a member of the starting lineup. Jonas Valanciunas (concussion) continues to ride the pine and until such time as he is ready to return, Tillman is likely to hold onto the starting center spot. Those considering picking him up should stay glued to the injury report ahead of Friday's matchup with the Blazers.
Apr 20, 2021
Scoring well of late
Tillman has scored in double figures in each of his last three games, averaging 15.7 points on 64.3 percent shooting in that stretch.
ANALYSIS
The rookie scored 14 and 15 points, respectively, in two games off the bench over the weekend, but he was inserted into the starting five for Monday's game against Denver with Jonas Valanciunas (concussion) sidelined. Tillman took full advantage of the game going into double-overtime, as he posted career highs in points (18), rebounds (14) and minutes (41), in addition to contributing two steals, two threes, a block and an assist. Obviously, Tillman won't be touching 40 minutes -- or even 30 minutes -- on most nights, but if Valanciunas misses Wednesday's game against the Clippers, Tillman makes for an appealing streaming option.
Apr 19, 2021
Drawing spot start
Tillman will start Monday against Denver, Evan Barnes of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.
ANALYSIS
Tillman joins the starting five with Jonas Valanciunas (concussion) ruled out. The Michigan State product's last start dates back to Feb. 20 against Phoenix, when he finished with nine points and four boards in 24 minutes of action.
Apr 17, 2021
Scores 14 points off bench
Tillman registered 14 points (4-6 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two rebounds, two steals and a block across 17 minutes off the bench in Friday's win over Chicago.
ANALYSIS
Tillman was one of six Memphis players that scored in double digits in this one, and while he didn't produce much in other categories, the scoring figures were decent considering the second-round pick rarely scores in double digits. He has registered only four games with at least 10 points since the beginning of February.
Apr 3, 2021
Scores 12 points
Tillman totaled 12 points (4-7 FG, 1-2 3PT, 3-5 FT), four rebounds, one steal and one block in 22 minutes during Friday's 120-108 win over the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Tillman's 12 points were the most he's had since Feb. 12 against the Kings. The scoring outburst came in the absence of Justice Winslow (quadriceps). The 22-year-old has seen his minutes increase in each of the last four games after recording four straight DNPs. The rookie remains planted behind a talented frontcourt that consists of Kyle Anderson, Brandon Clarke and Jonas Valanciunas.
Apr 1, 2021
Fails to produce despite opportunity
Tillman had just two points (1-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and six rebounds in 16 minutes during Wednesday's 111-107 loss to Utah.
ANALYSIS
With Brandon Clarke (personal) ruled out prior to tipoff, Tillman was given some additional run but failed to capitalize. Despite a short period of relevance earlier in the season, Tillman is yet to establish himself as a reliable option in both fantasy and reality. He possesses an intriguing skill set and while he could eventually become a valued contributor, his time is simply not here yet.
Mar 3, 2021
Minimal output off bench
Tillman posted three points (1-2 FG, 1-2 3Pt), two rebounds, two steals, one assist and one block over 17 minutes in Tuesday's 125-111 win over the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Tillman has returned to a bench role over the past five games, and he's had a minimal impact for the Grizzlies. While he recorded 10 rebounds during his return to the bench against the Mavericks on Feb. 22, he hasn't scored over five points in any of the last five contests. During that time, Tillman is averaging 4.2 points and 4.6 rebounds over 18.4 minutes per game.
Feb 20, 2021
Starting Saturday
Tillman will start Saturday against the Suns, Rob Fischer of Fox Sports Southeast reports.
ANALYSIS
A variety of injuries are forcing Tillman into the starting five alongside Jonas Valanciunas. In six previous starts this season, Tillman has averaged 9.0 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.2 blocks and 1.0 steals in 24.7 minutes.
Feb 20, 2021
Solid all-around line off bench
Tillman had eight points (4-8 FG, 0-2 3Pt), eight rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block in Friday's win over Detroit.
ANALYSIS
The rookie continues to hold down a consistent role of 17-to-20 minutes off the bench on most nights. His fantasy upside is fairly limited as long as Jonas Valanciunas is healthy, but Tillman is capable of providing well-rounded value across a number of categories. During his six-game run as a starter earlier in the season (Jan. 18 through Feb. 6), Tillman averaged 9.0 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.0 steal and 1.2 blocks in 24.7 minutes.
Feb 5, 2021
Flirts with first double-double
Tillman tallied nine points (3-7 FG. 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 10 rebounds, an assist and a steal across 23 minutes in Thursday's 115-103 loss to the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Tillman and Gorgui Dieng have been holding down the fort in the paint during Jonas Valancuinas' absence, with varying results. Overall, the two backups harm the other's fantasy relevance, but the younger and more versatile Tillman possesses the edge in this injury scenario. At 6-8, he could have an increased role in the offense even after Valanciunas returns, as he can play the four and stretch the floor with better mid-range shooting than Dieng can provide.

Puts up 12 in loss
Tillman recorded 12 points (5-10 FG, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, two assists and two blocks Tuesday in a 134-116 loss at Indiana.
ANALYSIS
Tillman received yet another start with Jonas Valanciunas out (COVID-19 protocols). He has averaged 10.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocks across four starts so far. This is quite impressive progress considering Tillman only debuted in the NBA only a month ago.

Fills out stat sheet nicely in win
Tillman totaled 10 points (4-6 FG, 2-3 FT),
ANALYSIS
Tillman has essentially split the playing time at center with Gorgui Dieng while starting the past three games in place of Jonas Valanciunas (COVID-19 health and safety protocols), but both big men churned out productive lines in Monday's blowout victory. The rookie's output in the defensive categories in particular makes him interesting, and he's now averaging 1.6 steals and 1.0 blocks in his last eight contests. Though Tillman's value will take a hit once the Memphis frontcourt is back to full strength, the 22-year-old should be in store for a 20-plus-minute role for at least one more game, as Valanciunas has been ruled out for the second half of the back-to-back set Tuesday versus the Pacers.

Puts up 12 points in first start
Tillman started at center and posted 12 points (5-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, one assist and one steal in 29 minutes Monday in the Grizzlies' 108-104 win over the Suns.
ANALYSIS
The rookie second-round pick moved up to the top unit for the first time in his young career while Jonas Valanciunas (COVID-19 health and safety protocols) was sidelined. Given the bump in playing time he received, Tillman's output was slightly underwhelming, but he'll have some short-term streaming value if he continues to approach 30 minutes in any future games Valanciunas might miss. The Grizzlies have yet to comment on Valanciunas' availability beyond Monday's contest, so consider him questionable for Wednesday's game in Portland.

To start Monday
Tillman will start Monday's game against the Suns, Rob Fischer of Fox Sports Southeast reports.
ANALYSIS
With Jonas Valanciunas (COVID-19 protocols) ruled out, Tillman will make the first start of his young NBA career. The 2020 second-round pick saw a season-high 28 minutes against the Sixers on Saturday, and he finished that contest with 15 points, four rebounds, four steals and two assists.

Hitting stride in bench role
Tillman posted a career-high 15 points (7-13 FG, 1-5 3Pt) to go with four rebounds, four steals and two assists across 28 minutes Saturday in the Grizzlies' 106-104 win over the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Since making his NBA debut Jan. 3 after a delayed start due to left patellar tendinitis, Tillman hasn't needed long to establish himself as the Grizzlies' backup center. In less than two weeks, the rookie has knocked out Gorgui Dieng out of the rotation, and he cut into starter Jonas Valanciunas' playing time Saturday. While Valanciunas battled foul trouble, Tillman stepped up to deliver the best stat line of his young career, establishing new career highs in points and steals. Tillman remains an interesting asset in dynasty leagues, but his ceiling in redraft formats will likely be suppressed while he's part of a frontcourt that includes Valanciunas, Brandon Clarke and soon, Jaren Jackson (knee).

Makes NBA debut
Tillman (kneecap) logged 17 minutes off the bench Sunday in the Grizzlies' 108-94 loss to the Lakers, contributing six points (3-3 FG) and six rebounds.
ANALYSIS
The rookie second-round pick was sidelined for the Grizzlies' first five games of the season while recovering from left patellar tendinitis, but he finally received clearance to make his NBA debut Sunday. Working as the backup to starting power forward Brandon Clarke, Tillman turned in a solid outing, though he'll likely have a difficult path to earning more minutes. Playing time will be even more difficult to come by for Tillman once the Grizzlies get the likes of Jaren Jackson (knee) and Ja Morant (ankle) back from injury.

Lands four-year contract
Tillman agreed Saturday with the Spurs on a four-year contract, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
After dealing away some draft capital to move up in the 2021 NBA Draft to select Tillman with the No. 35 overall pick, the Grizzlies opted to use a portion of their mid-level exception to give the Michigan State product more than the two years that are typically allowed for rookie contracts. During training camp, Tillman will likely have to compete with Gorgui Dieng for the fourth spot in a big-man rotation that includes Jonas Valanciunas, Jaren Jackson (knee) and Brandon Clarke.
