Picks off pass in overtime loss
Wagner finished Sunday's overtime loss to Denver with eight tackles (three solo) and an interception.
ANALYSIS
Wagner paced Washington in stops in the loss, and he's now recorded at least seven tackles in all 12 of the team's contests this season. The veteran linebacker also notched his second pickoff of the campaign when he intercepted Bo Nix on the third play of the fourth quarter. Wagner has shown no signs of slowing down in his 14th NFL season, recording 115 tackles (including 2.0 sacks) and three defensed passes (including the pair of picks).
Nov 17, 2025
Leads team in tackles again Sunday
Wagner logged eight tackles (four solo) and a defensed pass Sunday in a Week 11 overtime loss to Miami.
ANALYSIS
Wagner continues to provide steady output as a tackler, as he's recorded at least seven stops in all 11 of Washington's games so far this year. He has slowed down from a torrid season-opening pace, though -- Wagner has finished with single-digit tackles in five of his past six contests after reaching the double-digit mark in each of the first five weeks of the campaign. That's nitpicking his big-time production, though, as the veteran linebacker ranks second in the NFL with 107 stops through 11 weeks.
Nov 9, 2025
Paces team in tackles in loss
Wagner recorded nine total tackles (six solo) in Sunday's 44-22 loss to the Lions.
ANALYSIS
Wagner was able to pace the team in tackles once again in Week 10, reaching at least nine stops for the eighth time this season. The 35-year-old is now just one tackle short of posting his 14th consecutive campaign with 100-plus tackles. Wagner is up to 99 total tackles (49 solo), including 2.0 sacks, while also adding an interception over 10 contests this year.
Nov 3, 2025
Seven stops in loss
Wagner recorded seven total tackles (three solo), including a tackle for loss, in Sunday night's 38-14 loss to Seattle.
ANALYSIS
Wagner finished with a season-low seven takedowns in the defeat, failing to reach double-digit tackles for just the third time this season. The 35-year-old remains one of the most consistent tacklers in the league still, recording 90 total tackles (43 solo), including 2.0 sacks, while also adding an interception over nine contests this season.
Oct 28, 2025
Gets first interception of year
Wagner recorded 10 tackles (seven solo) and an interception during Monday's 28-7 loss at Kansas City.
ANALYSIS
There weren't too many causes for celebration for the Commanders in Week 8, but Wagner certainly provided one when he came down with a pass tipped up by Travis Kelce early in the second quarter, recording his first interception since 2022. He is second in the league only to Miami's Jordyn Brooks in total tackles going into a Week 9 matchup versus the Seahawks.
Oct 20, 2025
Eight stops in loss
Wagner recorded eight total tackles (three solo) in Sunday's 44-22 loss to the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
Wagner was able to lead the team in takedowns once again in Week 7, but the eight stops were actually a season low for the 35-year-old. The linebacker has remained incredibly productive in his 14th season in the NFL, racking up 73 total tackles (33 solo), including 2.0 sacks, over seven games to this point.
Oct 14, 2025
Tallies nine tackles in Week 6 loss
Wagner logged nine tackles (four solo) during the Commanders' 25-24 loss to the Bears on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Wagner played every single snap and led the Commanders in tackles, one of which resulted in a loss. He's recorded at least nine tackles in each of the first six games of the regular season, and his 65 stops is second most in the NFL behind Jordyn Brooks (66). Wagner is well on track to extend his streak of 100-plus tackles to 14 seasons.
Oct 6, 2025
Continues to rack up stops
Wagner totaled 14 tackles (eight solo) in Sunday's 27-10 win against the Chargers in Week 5.
ANALYSIS
Wagner again led Washington in tackles and has now recorded double-digit stops in all five of the Commanders' contests this season. Through five weeks, he ranks second in the NFL with 56 total tackles.
Sep 29, 2025
Reaches double-digit stops again
Wagner totaled 10 tackles (four solo) Sunday in a Week 4 loss to Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Wagner was again the Commanders' leading tackler and finished with double-digit stops for the fourth straight game to begin the campaign. He's been incredibly consistent so far with either 10 or 11 tackles each of the first four weeks. Wagner entered Monday tied atop the NFL leaderboard with 42 tackles on the season.
Sep 22, 2025
Dominant in Week 3 win
Wagner tallied 11 tackles (six solo), including 2.0 sacks, in Sunday's 41-24 win against the Raiders.
ANALYSIS
Wagner not only paced the Commanders in stops, he also recorded 2.0 sacks, equaling the amount he posted in 17 regular-season contests last year. The veteran linebacker has never recorded more than 6.0 sacks in a season, so he's typically not prolific in terms of bringing down the QB. Wagner has continued to thrive in his age-35 campaign, registering 32 tackles through three weeks.
Sep 13, 2025
Leads Washington in tackles Week 2
Wagner tallied 11 tackles (three solo) during the Commanders' 27-18 loss to the Packers on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
It's the second straight game in which Wagner has logged at least 10 total tackles, and his efforts Thursday brought his total for the season up to 21. The veteran linebacker has registered at least 100 total tackles in all 14 seasons he's played in since being selected by the Seahawks in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft, and he is on track to extend that streak to 15 seasons.
Sep 8, 2025
Tallies 10 stops Week 1
Wagner registered 10 tackles (five solo) in Sunday's 21-6 Week 1 victory versus the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Wagner led Washington with 10 tackles, one of which went for a loss. The veteran linebacker also had 10 stops in Week 1 last year and finished with 132 total tackles over 17 regular-season contests. Wagner has never recorded fewer than 104 stops in any season over his 13-plus year NFL career.
Mar 6, 2025
Remains in nation's capital
The Commanders and Wagner agreed to a one-year contract Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
After spending 11 of the first 12 seasons of his career in the NFC West (11 in Seattle, one with the Rams), Wagner didn't miss a beat in Washington in 2024 while working with a familiar face in coach Dan Quinn, who was the Seahawks' defensive coordinator in 2013 and 2014. In 20 games between the regular season and playoffs for the Commanders, Wagner racked up 157 tackles, including 2.5 sacks, four pass defenses, three fumble recoveries and one forced fumble. His new deal has $8 million in guarantees with a maximum value of $9.5 million.
Feb 6, 2025
Shines in first year with Washington
Wagner finished the 2024 regular season with 132 tackles (75 solo), four pass defenses, two sacks, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble in 17 games.
ANALYSIS
Wagner's IDP value took a hit relative to recent seasons, but his real-life performance remained strong, with the Commanders more than getting their money's worth on a one-year, $6.5 million contract. The 34-year-old was a Second Team All-Pro and earned his 10th Pro Bowl nomination, with he and fellow linebacker Frankie Luvu quickly emerging as the top players on Washington's defense under new coach Dan Quinn. The Commanders presumably will try to re-sign Wagner, but they'll have healthy competition for his services if a contract isn't completed before the start of the new league year.
Jan 24, 2025
Cleared to face Washington
Wagner (ankle) was limited in practice Friday and does not carry an injury designation for Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
Wagner missed practice Wednesday and Thursday, as it appears the Commanders have limited his activity level due to a lingering ankle issue. He's played 100 percent of defensive snaps in nine consecutive games, however, so there's no true reason for concern regarding his workload for Sunday's road matchup against Philadelphia. Wagner has tallied eight stops in three straight appearances, and he's also made a half-sack, one pass breakup and a fumble recovery in that span.
Jan 22, 2025
Misses Wednesday's practice
Wagner (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
The veteran inside linebacker powered through his ankle injury in Saturday's divisional-round win over the Lions, tallying eight total tackles while playing 100 percent of the Commanders' defensive snaps. Wagner registered a DNP/DNP/LP practice schedule before playing in the divisional round, so Wednesday's DNP is likely precautionary. However, if the Utah State product can't practice in a limited fashion Thursday or Friday, he could be in jeopardy of missing Sunday's NFC Championship Game in Philadelphia.
Jan 16, 2025
Good to go Saturday
Wagner (ankle) does not carry an injury designation into Saturday's NFC divisional-round game against Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Wagner registered a DNP/DNP/LP practice log this week due to an ankle injury. Despite not logging a full practice, head coach Dan Quinn told reporters Thursday that there is "no concern" about Wagner's ankle for Saturday's contest, per Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post. Wagner played every single defensive snap during the Commanders' NFC wild-card win over the Buccaneers this past Sunday and finished with eight tackles (five solo), including 0.5 sacks, and one fumble recovery.
Jan 14, 2025
Dealing with ankle injury
Wagner (ankle) didn't practice Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Wagner played every defensive snap in Sunday's wild-card win over the Buccaneers, but he appears to have suffered an ankle injury in the contest. Given what's at stake, it's likely the veteran linebacker will do everything he can to suit up Saturday in the NFC divisional round versus Detroit, though his practice status Wednesday and Thursday should shed light upon whether he's in danger of missing that game. If Wagner were to be unable to suit up against the Lions, Nick Bellore could be asked to step up.
Dec 30, 2024
Six tackles in win
Wagner recorded six total tackles and a pass defensed in Sunday's 30-24 overtime win against the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
Wagner remained busy in Week 17, producing at least six tackles for the 14th time in 2024. The linebacker has now played 100 percent of the team's defensive snaps in six consecutive games and he's compiled 124 total tackles (71 solo), including 2.0 sacks, while also adding a forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and three paseses defensed over 16 contests this season.
Dec 23, 2024
Leading tackler in win
Wagner recorded nine total tackles (eight solo) and one pass defended in Sunday's 36-33 win over the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
The veteran linebacker leads the Commanders' defense in total tackles (118) and forced fumbles (one), while ranking third in tackles for loss (eight) through 15 games this season. Wagner has posted 100-plus total tackles in all 13 of his years in the NFL, and he's expected to remain the Commanders' defensive leader as the Falcons travel to Washington in Week 17.
Dec 2, 2024
Reaches 100 tackles
Wagner logged five tackles (four solo) in Washington's win over the Titans on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Wagner had his lowest tackle total of the season but still managed to surpass 100 tackles on the year. The 2012 second-round pick has now recorded at least 100 tackles in all 13 seasons of his career.
Nov 25, 2024
Solid outing in loss
Wagner recorded eight total tackles (five solo), including one tackle for loss, in Sunday's 34-26 loss to the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
The 13th-year pro played 100 percent of the Commanders' defensive snaps for the second consecutive game and tied Frankie Luvu as the team's leading tackler Sunday. Wagner has continued to produce in his first season in Washington, recording 99 total tackles, including 2.0 sacks, and defending one pass through 12 games. He's expected to remain one of the NFL's top tacklers as the Commanders host the Titans in Week 13.
Nov 18, 2024
Collects eight tackles in loss
Wagner recorded eight tackles (four solo) during Thursday's 26-18 loss at Philadelphia.
ANALYSIS
Wagner played all 70 of the Commanders' defensive snaps in Week 11, and he tallied seven-plus tackles for the ninth time this season. He's on the precipice of achieving his 13th consecutive season with at least 100 tackles and projects as a high-floor IDP option for Week 12 versus the Cowboys.
Nov 12, 2024
Seven tackles in loss
Wagner recorded seven total tackles (three solo) in Sunday's 28-27 loss to the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
Wagner was able to reach seven tackles for the third game in a row, finishing tied for third on the team in stops versus Pittsburgh. The linebacker has produced at least seven tackles in eight of 10 games this season and he's now up to 83 total tackles (47 solo), including 2.0 sacks, while also adding a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a pass defensed in 2024.
Nov 5, 2024
Tacks on another seven stops
Wagner posted seven tackles (three solo) and a fumble recovery in Sunday's 27-22 win over the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Wagner led the league in tackles last season but ranks 13th this year with 76 through nine games, trailing far behind the leader, Colts LB Zaire Franklin. Nevertheless, Wagner will comfortably surpass 100 tackles for the 13th time in his career as long as he stays healthy, and he continues to be a must-start IDP option down the stretch.
Oct 29, 2024
Logs seven tackles vs. Chicago
Wagner registered seven tackles (five solo) during Sunday's 18-15 win over the Bears.
ANALYSIS
Wagner has logged six or more tackles in each of the Commanders' first eight games of the regular season. He's up to 69 combined tackles on the year, which is the most on the Commanders and tied with Zack Baun for 11th in the NFL.
Oct 14, 2024
Racks up 12 stops in loss
Wagner recorded 12 tackles (six solo) in Sunday's Week 6 loss to Baltimore.
ANALYSIS
Wagner led Washington in stops with a season-high mark. The veteran linebacker has recorded double-digit tackles in three of his six games so far this season. Wagner continues to be an excellent IDP option coming off a career- and NFL-high 183 stops with Seattle last year.
Oct 7, 2024
Productive versus Browns
Wagner recorded six tackles (three solo), including 1.5 sacks, and forced a fumble during Washington's win versus Cleveland on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Wagner was one of five defenders to sack Deshaun Watson in what was a dominant performance for the defense as a whole. The 2012 first-round pick has now amassed 44 tackles (27 solo), with 2.0 sacks, across his first five games with the Commanders.
Oct 1, 2024
Leads Commanders in tackling
Wagner registered 11 tackles (seven solo), including 0.5 sacks, during Sunday's 42-14 win over Arizona.
ANALYSIS
Wagner once again led the Commanders in tackles Sunday as he managed to reach double digits in that category for the second time this season. He also recorded his first sack of the regular season, as he combined with Daron Payne for an 11-yard sack on quarterback Kyler Murray early in the third quarter. Wagner leads Washington with 38 total tackles through four regular-season games, and his 24 solo tackles is tied for eighth in the NFL with Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson.
Sep 24, 2024
Eight tackles vs. Cincinnati
Wagner tallied eight total tackles in Monday's 38-33 win over the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
Bobby was the leading tackler for the Commanders on Monday, and he played 100 percent of the defensive snaps for a third straight game. He was brought in by head coach Dan Quinn to lead Washington's defense, and he has done so in convincing fashion. Wagner leads the Commanders with 27 total tackles through the first three games of the year, and his 18 solo tackles is tied for 10th-most in the NFL.
Sep 16, 2024
Nine takedowns in win
Wagner recorded nine total tackles (five solo) and a pass defensed in Sunday's 21-18 win over the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Wagner played 100 percent of the defensive snaps for the second straight week, finishing second on the team in tackles behind Frankie Luvu. Wagner has been nothing but a tackling machine throughout his NFL career and he's now produced 19 total tackles (10 solo) over two games in 2024.
Sep 9, 2024
Double-digit tackles Sunday
Wagner logged 10 total tackles (five solo), including three tackles for loss during Sunday's 37-20 loss to the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
Wagner impressed in his first game with the Commanders despite Washington's poor defensive effort as a unit, logging double-digit tackles and leading the team in tackles for loss. The All-Pro linebacker spent his 2023 campaign with Seattle, logging 183 total tackles, including 3.5 sacks, across 17 regular-season games. Expect Washington's new tackling machine to continue making plays as the Commanders take on the Giants in Week 2.
Mar 13, 2024
Slated to join Commanders
The Commanders signed Wagner on Wednesday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Wagner will head to Washington where he will instantly help reinforce a thin linebacking core. In his second stint with the Seahawks last season, the 33-year-old compiled a career-high 183 tackles (96 solo) and will now look to repeat that level of production for the Commanders during the upcoming campaign.
Mar 10, 2024
Not expected to return to Seattle
Wagner is expected to test the free agency market this week, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Wagner is viewed as unlikely to return to the Seahawks in 2024 after having a resurgent 2023 campaign in Seattle, recording a career-high 183 tackles, including 3.5 sacks, while deflecting three passes and recovering a fumble over 17 games. The linebacker will turn 34 years old in June, but he'll likely still have an abundance of teams interested in him on the open market.
Jan 9, 2024
Leads league in tackles once again
Wagner finished with 183 tackles (96 solo), 3.5 sacks, three pass breakups and a fumble recovery across 17 games in the 2023 season.
ANALYSIS
For the third time in his career, Wagner led the NFL in tackles, setting a career high in the category this season. Wagner will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, and with no major signs of decline and a clear leadership role on this team, the Seahawks will likely try to bring him back for a 12th season with the team and his 13th in the league.
Jan 2, 2024
Continues dominance in loss
Wagner finished Sunday's 30-23 loss to the Steelers with 14 tackles (four solo).
ANALYSIS
Wagner reached double-digit tackles for the third straight game and has played every single defensive snap since Week 10. His 168 total tackles is second in the NFL behind Zaire Franklin (170) and the former is two stops away from matching his career high set in 2021.
Dec 25, 2023
Another productive game
Wagner finished with 11 tackles (eight solo), including a sack and two tackles for a loss, in the Seahawks' 20-17 win over the Titans on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
The nine-time All-Pro has recorded double-digit stops in nine different games this season. Wagner is third in the NFL in tackles with 154. The 12th-year pro also has three passes defensed and a fumble recovery in 2023.
Dec 1, 2023
Racks up 14 stops against Dallas
Wagner registered 14 tackles (seven solo) in Thursday's Week 13 loss to the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
Wagner led Seattle in stops in the defeat, posting his third double-digit tackle total over the past four weeks. The veteran linebacker has had some big tackle totals this season, finishing with 13 or more stops on four different occasions. Wagner is currently tied for the NFL lead with 127 tackles on the campaign.
Nov 24, 2023
Records eight stops Week 12
Wagner totaled eight tackles (four solo) in a loss to San Francisco on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Though Wagner's tackle total was very respectable, he actually finished with his lowest number in that category since making just four stops Week 6 versus Cincinnati. That speaks to his elite level of production this season -- through 11 contests, he leads Seattle and ranks fifth in the NFL with 113 total stops. Wagner is on pace to reach 150 tackles for the fourth time in his career.
Nov 14, 2023
Stays productive in win
Wagner logged 10 tackles (six solo), 0.5 sacks and two pass deflections in the Seahawks Week 10 victory over the Commanders.
ANALYSIS
It was the first time Wagner made a mark in the sack department since Week 4, and he brought his season total up to 2.5 in the process. It was also the fifth time in 10 games this year in which the veteran linebacker reached double-digit tackles. He was on the field for all 61 defensive snaps plus five on special teams (14 percent). He has now pitched six complete defensive games this season. He will look to maintain his reliability in Week 11 versus the Rams.
Nov 6, 2023
Continues racking up stops
Wagner registered nine tackles (six solo) and recovered a fumble in a Week 10 loss to the Ravens on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Wagner finished second on Seattle in stops in the defeat, trailing only Jordyn Brooks, who had 11. Wagner has at least nine tackles in each of his past three contests and is up to 85 on the season, fifth-most in the league. He's on pace to challenge the career-best mark of 170 tackles he established in 2021.
Oct 31, 2023
Double-digit tackles in win
Wagner had 13 tackles (three solo) in Sunday's 24-20 win over the Browns.
ANALYSIS
Wagner continues to be a tackling machine in his 12th season in the league and had 10 assisted tackles for the second time this season. He was dealing with an ankle injury that kept him from practicing Wednesday and Thursday, but it didn't seem to hamper him Sunday as he played in 100 percent of the defensive snaps. He leads the team in tackles with 76 in seven contests and will look to pad to that total in Week 9 against Lamar Jackson and the Ravens.
Oct 27, 2023
Cleared to play Week 8
Wagner (ankle) doesn't have an injury designation heading into Seattle's Week 8 matchup against Cleveland, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
Wagner sat out practice Wednesday and Thursday while tending to an ankle injury, but he was able to participate in full Friday and appears set to suit up Sunday. The star linebacker has played in each of the Seahawks' six games so far this season and leads the team with 63 tackles (including two sacks).
Oct 26, 2023
Misses practice Thursday
Wagner (ankle) did not participate at Seattle's practice Thursday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Wagner missed a second straight practice to open the week while he continues to nurse an ankle injury. He'll look to at least log a limited session Friday ahead of Sunday's game against the Browns. If Wagner is ultimately unable to play, Drake Thomas could draw a start at interior linebacker.
Oct 25, 2023
Misses practice Wednesday
Wagner (ankle) missed Seattle's practice Wednesday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Wagner popped up on the injury report Wednesday with an ankle injury, forcing him to miss practice. With Jordyn Brooks (calf) also on the injury report, Drake Thomas and Nick Bellore could be in line for increased playing time if either Wagner or Brooks can't play versus the Browns on Sunday.
Oct 24, 2023
Nine tackles in win
Wagner registered nine tackles (six solo) in Sunday's 20-10 win over the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
Wagner bounced back from a four-tackle performance last week against the Bengals and tied with Jordyn Brooks for the most tackles on the team Sunday. Wagner continues to lead the Seahawks with 63 total tackles (35 solo) with two sacks in six games this season. He'll look to add to his stats in Week 8 at home against the Browns, who could be without quarterback Deshaun Watson (shoulder).
Oct 3, 2023
Racks up two sacks
Wagner logged 17 tackles (nine solo) including two sacks in the Seahawks' 24-3 win against the Giants on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Wagner's strong start to the season continues as he recorded his first two sacks of the year as well as finishing with double-digit tackles for the third time in four games. The 33-year-old currently has 50 tackles this season, good for third most in the NFL and will look to add to that total following Seattle's Week 5 bye.
Sep 18, 2023
Posts another big tackle total
Wagner finished Sunday's Week 2 overtime win against the Lions with 10 tackles (seven solo).
ANALYSIS
Wagner wasn't quite as prolific as he was in Week 1, when he erupted for 18 stops against the Rams. Still, the veteran linebacker picked up his second straight double-digit tackle effort after notching four such performances over 17 regular-season contests last season. Wagner has tallied at least 130 stops in seven consecutive campaigns and appears well on his way to hitting that mark again given his output so far in 2023.
Sep 12, 2023
Tackling machine in loss
Wagner registered 19 tackles (nine solo) in Sunday's 30-13 loss to the Rams.
ANALYSIS
12 of Wagner's 19 tackles came in the second half, eight of which were in the fourth quarter alone as the Rams opted to run the ball more with their lead. Wagner continues to be a leader for the Seahawks' defense since being taken by the team in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft. His gang tackling and veteran leadership will be crucial for Seattle as they look for their first win in Week 2 against the Lions.
Aug 30, 2023
Calling plays in 2023
Wagner will call defensive plays for the Seahawks in 2023, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Dugar, Wagner is expected to be an every-down player while Jordyn Brooks, who is coming off a torn ACL, may come off the field in clear passing situations to make room for a sixth defensive back. Wagner is 33 years old but has missed just one game since the 2018 season despite playing nearly every snap in that stretch. With an every-snap role ahead, Wagner has a good chance to match the 140-tackle total he posted last season.
Mar 25, 2023
Back in Seattle
The Seahawks and Wagner agreed to a one-year, $7 million contract Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Last offseason, the two sides parted ways after 10 seasons together, with Wagner eventually signing with the NFC West rival Rams. He remained a tackle machine in L.A., racking up 140 in 17 games while also recording a career-high six sacks. In his return to Seattle, Wagner likely will team with newcomer Devin Bush in the middle of the defense until Jordyn Brooks recovers from the torn ACL that he sustained Week 17.
Feb 23, 2023
Leaving the Rams
The Rams and Wagner mutually agreed to part ways Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Wagner's tenure in Los Angeles will now conclude after just one season in which he led the team with 140 tackles and set a new career high with six sacks. The 32-year-old also ranked as PFF's highest-graded linebacker this past campaign and was voted All-Pro for the ninth consecutive year, so he should draw plenty of interest in free-agent market.
Jan 9, 2023
Seven tackles against former team
Wagner logged seven solo tackles, a quarterback hit and a tackle for loss during the Rams' 19-16 overtime loss to the Seahawks.
ANALYSIS
Wagner led the Rams in tackles, but his return to Seattle was a much more demure affair than his stat-stuffing Week 13 matchup against them, when he notched three tackles for loss, two sacks and an interception. Wagner had a productive first season with the Rams, logging 140 tackles (81 solo), a career-high six sacks, and two interceptions, and he will again be one of the anchors of the defense in 2023.
Jan 2, 2023
Modest numbers in defeat
Wagner recorded seven tackles (five solo) during Sunday's 31-10 loss to the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
A week removed from a monster performance against the Broncos, Wagner and the Rams defense as a whole fell back to Earth against a playoff-bound Chargers offense. Wagner currently sits 13th in the league in tackles on the season with 133, and faces the Seahawks in the Week 18 finale, a team that Wagner also stuffed the stat box against in their prior Week 13 matchup with seven combined tackles, two sacks, a pass defense and an interception in the contest.
Dec 26, 2022
Fills stat sheet in dominant win
Wagner recorded eight tackles (five solo), a sack, two quarterback hits, one tackle for loss, an interception and a pass defended during Sunday's 51-14 victory against the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
Wagner spent much of his Christmas Day sending former teammate Russell Wilson into fits, starting by stepping in front of a pass intended for Greg Dulcich to notch the second of four Rams' interceptions on the day. Wagner tacked on a sack on Wilson late in the second quarter, and was his usual dominant self on all aspects of the defense. Week 17's matchup against the Chargers will be a tougher task than the anemic Broncos offense, but the elite linebacker comes to Los Angeles on an absolute tear (36 combined tackles, three sacks, and two interceptions in the past four games) and should be primed for another monster performance.
Dec 9, 2022
Records new season high in tackles
Wagner recorded 14 tackles (six solo) during Thursday's 17-16 win against the Raiders.
ANALYSIS
Wagner has continued a stretch of elite play with another stat stuffing game, and the 14 total tackles moved him into the top 10 in all-time regular season combined tackles, ahead of Kyle Clifton's 1,484. Wagner, who now sits at 1,494, will likely pass Donnie Edwards for ninth in Week 15's contest against Green Bay, as he needs just eight more tackles to overtake the former linebacker for the Chiefs and Chargers.
Dec 5, 2022
Does it all against former team
Wagner recorded seven tackles (five solo) including three for a loss, two sacks, and an interception during Sunday's 27-23 loss to the Seahawks.
ANALYSIS
In Wagner's first game against Seattle since signing a five-year deal with the Rams in the offseason, the veteran linebacker put on a show, taking down Geno Smith on a pair of sacks and ripping the ball straight out of the hands of Tony Jones for an interception. Wagner's third career two-sack game was still not enough to push the Rams into the win column, but his elite play has been one of the lone bright spots for the Rams in a lost season.
Nov 21, 2022
Leads team in tackles
Wagner recorded 11 tackles (four solo) in Sunday's 27-20 loss to the Saints.
ANALYSIS
Wagner easily led the team in tackles, with Jalen Ramsey coming in second with just six. The veteran linebacker has been stuffing the stat sheet in recent weeks, with 33 total tackles and a sack in his last three contests combined.
Nov 14, 2022
Nets third sack of the season
Wagner recorded nine tackles (four solo) and a sack in Sunday's 27-17 loss to the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
Wagner was able to notch his first sack since Week 2 with a fourth-quarter takedown of Colt McCoy. The veteran linebacker was one of two Rams, along with Nick Scott, that never left the field on defense, and his nine combined tackles were tied for second most on the team, one behind Ernest Jones.
Nov 7, 2022
Records season-high in tackles
Wagner recorded 13 tackles (eight solo) and blocked a field goal in Sunday's 16-13 loss to the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
Wagner's blocked field goal in the second quarter was a highlight reel affair, as the linebacker leapt over two offensive linemen, then bounced back up and spiked down the incoming ball, stuffing Ryan Succop's 52-yard attempt. Wagner, who was on the field for every snap on defense for the seventh time in eight games, also stuffed the stat sheet with a team-leading 13 tackles, more than his previous two games combined.

Oct 4, 2022

Sep 27, 2022
Season-high nine tackles
Wagner recorded nine tackles (six solo) during Sunday's 20-12 win over the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
Wagner posted a season-high nine tackles, but he fell short of recording a sack in three straight games to start the campaign. Across his first three appearances with the Rams, the veteran linebacker has 25 tackles and two sacks. He'll look to maintain his strong play against the 49ers in Week 4.
Sep 19, 2022
Records a sack in win
Wagner recorded seven tackles (three solo) and a sack during Sunday's 31-27 win against the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
Wagner's stat line looked very similar to his Week 1 performance, and for the second straight week the top linebacker for the Rams was on the field for 100% of the team's defensive snaps, which should be the theme for Wagner throughout the season. Wagner will look to make it three straight weeks with a sack against the Raiders in Week 3.
Sep 9, 2022
Solid performance in team debut
Wagner recorded seven tackles (five solo) and one sack during Thursday's 31-10 loss to the Bills.
ANALYSIS
Wagner finished one tackle behind Troy Hill for the team lead and tied three other players with seven. He also recorded just one of the team's two sacks during the season opener. The veteran linebacker signed a five-year, $65 million deal with the Rams after being released by Seattle this offseason. He's recorded at least 100 tackles in each of his first 10 seasons in the NFL and will look to continue that streak during his first campaign with Los Angeles.
Mar 31, 2022
Added to Rams defense
The Rams have agreed to terms with Wagner, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Per the report, Wagner's deal is for five years and worth up to $65 million. The Seahawks released the linebacker earlier this month, but the 31-year-old remains productive at this stage of his career and is coming off a career-high 170-tackle season. With the Rams, Wagner -- who's presumably past the knee issue that caused him to miss Seattle's season finale -- slots in as a starting inside linebacker alongside Ernest Jones, with his addition representing a boost to the team's defense against the run as well as in coverage.

Parting ways with Seattle
The Seahawks informed Wagner (knee) that he's being released Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Seattle agreed to send quarterback Russell Wilson to Denver earlier Tuesday, and the departure of Wagner even further signifies a changing of the guard for the Seahawks. The veteran linebacker has a cap hit of $20.35 million in 2022 for the final year of his contract, but Seattle can cut him with a dead cap charge of only $3.75 million. Wagner has at least 133 total tackles in each of the past six seasons, and in 2021 he totaled 170 tackles, one sack, one interception and one forced fumble in 16 games.
Jan 7, 2022
Ruled out Sunday
Wagner (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Wagner was unable to practice Wednesday and Thursday, and he'll be held out for Sunday's regular-season finale. He appeared in 16 games during the 2021 campaign before sustaining a sprained MCL and PCL in Week 17, and he totaled 170 tackles (93 solo), a sack, an interception, a forced fumble and five pass defenses.
Jan 6, 2022
Still not practicing
Wagner (knee) didn't practice Thursday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Wagner hurt his knee on the first defensive play of this past Sunday's game against the Lions and didn't return. Eventually, he was diagnosed with MCL and PCL sprains after an MRI, threatening his availability for a Week 18 visit to Arizona. According to Boyle, Wagner said Wednesday that his knee is receiving treatment and he'll play the waiting game to see if he'll be able to suit up Sunday. With no on-field work to speak of yet, Wagner may be trending in the wrong direction, but he at least has one more practice to prove to the Seahawks training staff that he can play through the injuries.
Jan 5, 2022
No activity Wednesday
Wagner (knee) was held out of Wednesday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
After lasting just one defensive play due to MCL and PCL sprains sustained Week 17 against the Lions, Wagner was believed to be trending toward an absence this Sunday in Arizona, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Wagner wouldn't commit to such a fate Wednesday, telling Boyle that he's receiving treatment on his knee and will see how the rest of the week plays out to see if he may be able to play this weekend. Wagner has missed just one game since the start of the 2016 campaign, but it remains to be seen if he'll log a second Sunday.
Jan 3, 2022
Set to miss Week 18
Wagner was diagnosed with sprains to the MCL and PCL in his knee Monday and shouldn't require surgery, but he's expected to be sidelined for Sunday's game at Arizona, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Wagner suffered the injury during Sunday's win over the Lions, though it was initially described as a sprained kneecap. Regardless, the 31-year-old is likely to be sidelined for the final game of the season, which would be his first absence since 2018 and only his second game missed since 2015. Assuming he's unable to play Week 18, Wagner would finish the the campaign with a career-high 170 tackles (93 solo) to go along with one sack, one interception and one forced fumble in 16 contests.
Jan 3, 2022
Avoids major injury
Wagner (knee) suffered a sprained kneecap in Sunday's 51-29 victory over the Lions, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Wagner underwent an MRI following Sunday's contest, which fortunately revealed he did not suffer any major damage. He was able to walk off the field under his own power but was ultimately kept from returning. His status for Week 18 is undetermined. Given the Seahawks have been eliminated from the playoff picture, it would not be surprising if they err on the side of caution with their starting middle linebacker.
Jan 2, 2022
MRI coming up
Wagner sprained his knee in Sunday's 51-29 win over the Lions and will get an MRI on the injury, per coach Pete Carroll, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Wagner was able to walk off under his own power and immediately tried to get back into the game, but Seattle's staff kept him off the field with the team up big. Carroll responded, "I don't know," when asked about Wagner's availability for next week's season finale against the Cardinals, but the results of the MRI should paint a clearer picture regarding the linebacker's chances of suiting up.
Jan 2, 2022
Suffers knee injury Sunday
Wagner (knee) is questionable to return Sunday against the Lions, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Wagner was injured on the Seahawks' first defensive play of the game. The star linebacker had totaled 170 tackles through the first 15 games of the season, so his potential absence would be a huge blow to Seattle's defense.
Dec 7, 2021
Big day all around
Wagner totaled nine tackles (six solo) along with an interception in Sunday's 30-23 divisional win over San Francisco.
ANALYSIS
Wagner intercepted his first pass since Week 15 of the 2019 season as he picked off Jimmy Garoppolo early in the first quarter. With six more solo tackles in this contest, the star linebacker is now second in the NFL in solo tackles. The 31-year-old has recorded double-digit tackles in eight of 12 games this season. Wagner and the Seattle defense get a much easier matchup next Sunday against Houston.
Nov 30, 2021
Piles up 14 stops
Wagner recorded 14 tackles (10 solo) and a pass breakup in Monday's 17-15 loss to Washington.
ANALYSIS
Wagner lost the league lead in tackles for a few days before regaining it on primetime. He's now up to 128 stops (71 solo) through 11 games, and he has added three pass breakups, a sack and a forced fumble as well. Wagner will probably earn All-Pro honors yet again this season as he looks to surpass his personal best of 167 stops, which he recorded in 2016.
Nov 22, 2021
Leads league in tackles
Wagner made 14 tackles (five solo) and forced a fumble in Sunday's 23-13 loss to the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
Wagner hit double-digit tackles for the seventh time in 10 games, and he leads the league with 115 tackles. The 2012 second-round pick has registered triple-digit tackles in each season since entering the league. He's a top-five IDP option once again.
Nov 15, 2021
Totals eight tackles
Wagner had eight tackles (four solo) during Sunday's 17-0 loss at Green Bay.
ANALYSIS
Wagner has yet to miss a defensive snap this season and finished third on the team in tackles versus the Packers. With one game remaining in Week 10, the 31-year-old ranks second in the NFL with 101 total tackles (56 solo) and also has one sack and two passes defensed this season.
Oct 27, 2021
Leads team with seven tackles
Wagner posted seven tackles (five solo) during Monday's loss to the Saints.
ANALYSIS
Wagner's seven tackle performance was a modest output for him, as it was just the second time this season that he failed to reach double-digit tackles in a game. The 31-year-old linebacker has 79 tackles through the Seahawks' first seven contests of the 2021 campaign and is well on his way to registering his 10th straight season with 100-plus tackles. Wagner remains an elite option in all IDP leagues.
Oct 18, 2021
Huge effort on SNF
Wagner posted 14 tackles (eight solo) in Sunday's 23-20 overtime loss to the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
Wagner is now tied with Denzel Perryman (Raiders) for the league lead with 72 tackles through six games. As long as he stays healthy, he'll comfortably reach 100 tackles for the 10th time in his 10-year career, and it wouldn't be surprising if he tests his current career high of 167 stops from back in 2016.
Oct 15, 2021
Clears injury report Friday
Wagner (knee) was removed from the injury report after logging a full practice Friday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Wagner injured his knee during Thursday's Week 5 matchup against the Rams, but he is ready to go for Week 6. The 31-year-old has been dominant for the Seahawks this year, totaling 58 tackles through the first five games of the season.
Oct 14, 2021
Gets back on practice field
Wagner (knee) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Wagner suffered a bruised knee in Thursday's Week 5 matchup against the Rams. He was held out of practice Wednesday but was able to retake the field Thursday to give him a chance to be active Sunday against Pittsburgh. As expected, Wagner has been the heart of the Seahawks' defense by racking up 58 tackles across five contests.
Oct 13, 2021
Nursing bruised knee
Wagner (knee) was a non-participant at Wednesday's practice, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Wagner bruised his knee during last Thursday's loss to the Rams, and he's not practicing to begin the week. Coach Pete Carroll previously said the team wasn't concerned about the availability of the star linebacker, so he should be expected to play at Pittsburgh this weekend until the team indicates otherwise.
Oct 4, 2021
Logs double-digit stops again
Wagner notched 10 tackles (five solo) and one pass deflection during Sunday's 28-21 win over the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
Wagner is a perennial tackling machine, so it's not exactly surprising to see him beginning the 2021 season on fire, but four straight games with double-digit stops is impressive nonetheless. With another divisional matchup on deck Week 5, against the Rams, Wagner will remain a must-start IDP option.
Sep 28, 2021
Third straight double-digit outing
Wagner posted 11 tackles (four solo) in Sunday's 30-17 loss to the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
This was a season low for Wagner, who has racked up a league-high 44 stops through three contests. He also has added a sack and a pass breakup. Wagner is a must-start in IDP leagues in what could be a record-setting season.
Sep 19, 2021
Sets record with 20 tackles
Wagner recorded 20 tackles (16 solo) and a sack in Sunday's 33-30 loss to the Titans.
ANALYSIS
Wagner set a franchise record and a career high in Week 2 with this massive tackling performance. Through two weeks, Wagner has produced 33 tackles, a sack and a pass breakup. He's a surefire IDP starter as long as he's healthy.
Sep 12, 2021
Massive performance
Wagner recorded 13 tackles -- one for a loss -- and a pass breakup in Sunday's 28-16 win over the Colts.
ANALYSIS
Wagner hit double-digits in the tackle department six times last year, and he's off to another hot start in 2021 after leading the Seahawks in stops during the season opener. He's a surefire starter in Week 2 when Derrick Henry and the Titans come to town.
Sep 8, 2021
Ready for Week 1
Wagner (knees) wasn't listed on the Seahawks' injury report Wednesday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
After a preseason in which Wagner didn't see a snap, he underwent a blood-spinning treatment in his knee joints, which apparently is something he's done before each of the past five campaigns. With his ability avoid the first Week 1 injury report entirely, he's set to face the Colts on the road Sunday. During the aforementioned quintet of seasons, he averaged nearly 149 tackles and 2.6 sacks per 16 games played.
Sep 2, 2021
Receives knee treatment
Wagner isn't practicing this week after receiving a blood-spinning treatment in his knee joints, but he's expected to be back at practice next week, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
Wagner has apparently undergone the procedure each of the past five years, so there isn't much concern regarding his availability for the Sept. 12 opener at Indianapolis. The 31-year-old was a machine in the middle of Seattle's defense again last season, racking up 138 tackles (81 solo), three sacks and one fumble recovery in 16 games.
Jan 11, 2021
Piles up 138 stops in 2020
Wagner recorded 138 tackles, three sacks and eight pass breakups over 16 games during the 2020 season.
ANALYSIS
Wagner enjoyed his best performance of the season during the 30-20 wild-card loss to the Rams, registering 16 stops and a sack. This was Wagner's fifth straight season with more than 130 tackles, and he was named first-team All Pro in each of those campaigns. The 30-year-old linebacker has two years remaining on his contract; he'll carry a $17.5 million cap hit in 2021. Wagner will nevertheless be a focal point in Seattle next season, if not one of the only bright spots on this defense if the team doesn't bring in reinforcements.
Jan 4, 2021
Caps off season with six stops
Wagner made six tackles (three solo) in Sunday's 26-23 win over the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
Wagner put together yet another dominant season. The All-Pro linebacker posted 138 tackles, marking the fifth straight season where he exceeded 130 stops. Wagner added three sacks, eight pass breakups and a fumble recovery as well. A focal point of Seattle's defense, Wagner shows no signs of slowing down with a playoff game against the Rams on deck.
Dec 21, 2020
Piles up 13 tackles
Wagner posted 13 tackles and a pass breakup in Sunday's 20-15 win over Washington.
ANALYSIS
Wagner compiled double-digit stops for the first time since Week 8. The veteran linebacker is now up to 126 tackles this year. He'll likely fall short of the 159 stops he posted last season, but Wagner is sixth in the league in the category, making him a top-tier IDP player for fantasy championships.
Dec 10, 2020
Back to full practice
Wagner (hamstring) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Wagner has played 100 percent of Seattle's defensive snaps this season, and it doesn't look like there are any more questions surrounding his status for Sunday's game against the Jets. The veteran linebacker already has 107 total tackles on the year, making this his ninth straight season above the century mark.
Dec 9, 2020
Limited during Wednesday's session
Wagner (hamstring) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Wagner has been quite durable in his career; he has missed just one game since the start of the 2016 season. However, a soft-tissue injury always causes concern. It's encouraging that he was still able to practice in some capacity, but it's worth monitoring his status for the rest of the week leading up to Sunday's game against the Jets.
Dec 1, 2020
Slows down in tackling department
Wagner posted five tackles (three solo) and a pass breakup in Monday's 23-17 win over the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
This was Wagner's fourth straight game with fewer than 10 stops, and he recorded his lowest tackle count of the season in Week 12. Nevertheless, the All-Pro linebacker reached another milestone in this game, eclipsing the 100-tackle threshold, a feat he has achieved in each of his nine NFL seasons.
Nov 2, 2020
Breaks out for two sacks
Wagner tallied 11 tackles (six solo), two sacks and three tackles for loss Sunday against San Francisco.
ANALYSIS
Wagner continues to rack up tackles this season, recording 36 tackles over his last three contests. He was also able to get pressure on the quarterback in Week 8, picking up his first two sacks of the 2020 campaign.
Oct 12, 2020
Season-high 14 stops
Wagner posted 14 tackles in Sunday's 27-26 win over the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
Kirk Cousins threw the ball just 22 times, so Wagner was quite busy clogging up running lanes and posting a season-high 14 stops. The 30-year-old linebacker has a whopping 52 tackles through five games, making him a high-end IDP contributor once again.
Oct 8, 2020
Lands on injury report
Wagner (ribs) was a limited participant during Thursday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear how Wagner suffered the injury, as he was coming off 12 tackles in Sunday's win over the Dolphins. The team could be electing to rest their star linebacker, as it's too early to worry about Wagner's status for Week 5. If he is forced to sit out, however, it's unclear who would handle middle linebacker duties with Cody Barton (quadriceps) also missing practice.
Oct 5, 2020
Paces squad in tackles
Wagner posted 12 tackles and a pass breakup in Sunday's 31-23 win over the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
This is Wagner's first time leading the team in tackles this season, and it's no coincidence that he accomplished the feat with All-Pro safety Jamal Adams (groin) out of the lineup. Wagner averaged 8.6 tackles per game through the first three weeks, but he'll be counted on even more until Adams returns, which might not be until after the team's Week 6 bye.
Sep 28, 2020
Posts nine tackles
Wagner recorded nine tackles (four solo) and a pass breakup in Sunday's 38-31 win over the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
Wagner's off to another solid start in 2020, as he's notched 26 tackles through three games, putting him on track to reach 138 stops this season. The addition of All Pro safety Jamal Adams could cap Wagner's ceiling a bit, but Wagner is an All Pro himself and will get his regardless. Confidently deploy him as an IDP in Week 4 against the Dolphins.
Sep 14, 2020
Registers seven stops
Wagner recorded seven tackles and two pass breakups in Sunday's 38-25 win over the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
Wagner is accustomed to leading the Seahawks in tackles, but there could be a new sheriff in town, as All-Pro safety Jamal Adams made his presence known Sunday with 12 tackles and a sack. Still, Wagner logged seven games last year with single-digit tackles and still finished with 159 stops, but it's worth keeping an eye on it in IDP settings, as Adams could take over as the team's top tackler.
Jan 21, 2020
Likely won't need surgery
Head coach Pete Carroll said Wagner (knee) won't play in the Pro Bowl but shouldn't need surgery, Andy Patton of USA Today reports. "He's just going to rest up," Carroll said. "He doesn't have to do anything for it, but he needs to miss this game."
ANALYSIS
While surgery was on the table after Wagner's injury popped up in exit interviews, the All-Pro linebacker should be fine with simple rest and rehab. This was Wagner's sixth straight Pro Bowl bid after racking up a league-high 159 tackles this season. Wagner should be good to go for the 2020 campaign.
Jan 13, 2020
May need surgery
Wagner (ankle/knee) informed the media that his status for the Pro Bowl is uncertain, as he may need to undergo offseason surgery, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune
ANALYSIS
Wagner indicated both his knee and ankle could potentially need surgery, so that will be something to keep an eye on. He played and started all 16 regular season games for the Seahawks this year. In the process, he recorded 159 sacks (86 solo), three sacks, one interception, and a forced fumble.
Dec 20, 2019
No injury designation for Week 16
Wagner (ankle) does not have an injury tag for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Wagner did not practice Wednesday or Thursday but will nevertheless suit up against Arizona. The 29-year-old has yet to miss a game this season.
Dec 19, 2019
Not practicing Thursday
Wagner (ankle) was absent during Thursday's practice session, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
A second straight day of missed practice is certainly not ideal, but head coach Pete Carrol has already gone on record saying he expects Wagner to be available Sunday against Arizona. If that's true, we'd expect the linebacker to make an appearance during Friday's practice, so keep an eye out to see how Seattle manages the linebacker's workload on the team's final day of practice before Sunday's divisional clash.
Dec 18, 2019
Sitting out practice Wednesday
Wagner (ankle) didn't participate in Wednesday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Wagner missed his first defensive snaps of the year after sustaining a sprained ankle in this past Sunday's win over the Panthers, but coach Pete Carroll said earlier in the week that he expects Wagner to play Week 16 versus the Panthers. Carroll reaffirmed his optimism by deeming Wagner "probable/questionable" Wednesday. We'll know more about the six-time Pro Bowler's status following Thursday's practice.
Dec 16, 2019
Not expected to miss time
Coach Pete Carroll said Monday that Wagner (ankle) is expected to suit up against the Cardinals in Week 16, Liz Matthews of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Wagner was forced out of Week 15's win over the Panthers in the fourth quarter due to a sprained ankle. It appears as though the star linebacker is trending toward availability for Sunday's divisional tilt against the Cardinals, though a final decision on his availability could come down to what he's able to do in the week's trio of practices. Wagner has secured double-digit tackles in five of the last six contests.
Dec 15, 2019
Suffers sprained ankle
Wagner sustained a sprained ankle during Sunday's 30-24 win over the Panthers, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Wagner managed to produce his third straight double-digit tackling performance before the injury, bringing him to 139 tackles on the season -- his best mark since 2016. Safety Quandre Diggs also suffered a sprained ankle in this contest, but coach Pete Carroll said Wagner's isn't as severe as Diggs' injury. While that doesn't provide much in regards to the severity of Wagner's condition, his status will be monitored closely during the practice week leading up to Week 16's game against the Cardinals.
