Reverts to IR with New Orleans
Pline (upper body) reverted to injured reserve with the Saints on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Pline left Sunday's 27-13 preseason loss to the Chargers a little worse for wear, sustaining an undisclosed upper body injury in the contest. The injury will now cause the tight end to miss the entirety of the 2025 campaign while on injured reserve, unless he's able to reach an injury settlement with New Orleans.

The 49ers signed Pline (undisclosed) to a reserve/future contract Monday.
ANALYSIS
Pline first latched on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent in May. He was waived just before the start of the regular season but then rejoined the organization as part of the practice squad. Pline was placed on the practice squad injured list due to an undisclosed issue in mid-December but now appears to be past that issue. He'll have the opportunity to compete for a roster spot during training camp next summer.

ANALYSIS
After playing both basketball and football at Ferris State University, Pline transferred to Furman for his graduate senior season. He ultimately tallied 282 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 31 receptions. Although it figures to be an uphill battle, the rookie projects to compete with the likes of Cameron Latu (knee), Eric Saubert, Brayden Willis and Jake Tonges for a depth tight end role behind George Kittle in the upcoming season.
