Fantasy managers that deployed Griffin were pleasantly surprised by the high tackle count, although it's a bit concerning for his real-life value. Keep in mind that the matchups have been tough, however, as he's faced the Falcons, Patriots and Cowboys to start the campaign. He'll look to get back on track in Week 4 against the Dolphins.

The Seahawks have inquired about the Jets' disgruntled safety, Jamal Adams, in an attempt to further beef up their defense, CBS Sports' Patrik Walker reports, which would add extra help for Griffin and whoever starts across from him, either Quinton Dunbar or Tre Flowers.

Other teams have inquired about Adams as well, and now there's talk from some Jets members that the Pro Bowl safety isn't going anywhere. The Seahawks are also thought to be interested in Chiefs star defensive lineman Chris Jones, while Dunbar is going through a slew of off-field legal issues. All of this will have an effect on Griffin, a Pro Bowler in his own right. The more support he gets around him, the greater chance he'll have to build on last season's 65 tackles and 13 passes defended.

Griffin is expected to be one of the more interesting players on the Seahawks' final roster bubble heading into 2020, Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times reports.

Griffin has yet to carve out a starting role at linebacker since being selected in the fifth-round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Since then, the teams has added three draft picks at that position in Jordyn Brooks, Cody Barton and Ben Burr-Kirven. That is in addition veteran Bruce Irving and stalwarts Bobby Wagner and K.J. Wright. Griffin is a bit of a wild card, as he began playing a pass-rush role during the latter portion of the 2019 season and even played 14 snaps across two playoff games in a specialty pass-rush package.

Griffin, who made seven tackles and a pass breakup over two playoff games, finished the 2019 season with 65 tackles and 13 pass breakups over 14 regular-season games.

Griffin improved in coverage this season, as he yielded 7.3 yards per target and 39.9 receiving yards per game with just four touchdowns allowed. He served as the team's No. 1 corner opposite Tre Flowers, and Griffin earned an alternate bid to the Pro Bowl. Griffin -- a 2017 third-round pick -- is heading into the final year of his contract in 2020, and he'll look to prove to be a true lockdown corner against the strong NFC West.
