Atwell has one year remaining on his rookie contract, but with Nacua and Kupp now entrenched as the top two targets for Matthew Stafford, it'll be difficult for the Louisville product to carve out a role beyond the third or fourth option at wide receiver.

Atwell is being evaluated for a concussion and is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Ravens.

Prior to his departure from the contest in the second quarter, Atwell drew one target and didn't record a catch. If Atwell is shut down for the day, Demarcus Robinson will be the next man up to play alongside Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua in three-receiver sets.

Atwell secured one of two targets for nine yards during Sunday's 36-19 victory against the Browns.

For the second straight week, Atwell took the field for just over a third of the Rams' snaps on offense, the fourth most among the Rams' wideouts behind Cooper Kupp, Puka Nacua and Demarcus Robinson. Atwell's nine receiving yards ties his lowest output of the season, and notably, Robinson had a big day with four catches for 55 yards and a touchdown, which may be more evidence that the speedster's role on offense truly is shrinking to more of a backup role alongside Ben Skowronek and Austin Trammell. A stingy Ravens pass defense lies next in Week 14, which will make a rebound performance for Atwell a tall order.

Atwell secured all three targets for 76 yards during Sunday's 37-14 victory against the Cardinals.

Atwell's role actually shrunk considerably compared to his typical usage, as he only took the field for around a third of the contest; less than starters Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua and notably Demarcus Robinson, as well. Despite the stark drop in playing time, Atwell was actually the most productive of the Rams' wideouts, with a game-long 42-yard catch on the Rams' first drive, and his 76 receiving yards were more than Kupp (3-18-0), Nacua (4-27-0) and Robinson (2-13-0) combined, The reduced snap count may just be a blip on the radar given Atwell's quality play, but a repeat performance may be a tall task in Week 12 against a Browns defense allowing a league-low 142 passing yards per game.

Atwell caught just one of his three targets for 17 yards in Sunday's 17-16 win over Seattle.

Cooper Kupp (ankle) went down to injury in the first half and did not return to Sunday's contest. Puka Nacua dusted off his Kupp mask from earlier this year and went to work in the star's absence (5-70-1), but Atwell actually saw his targets decrease from the seven he received last week while Kupp was playing. The Rams will likely provide an update on the latter's status early in Week 12 after the medical staff examines his ankle. If Kupp is sidelined for next Sunday's matchup against Arizona, then Atwell will elevate into the starting lineup and receive a bump in value for as long as that scenario sticks.

Atwell secured four of seven targets for 13 yards during Sunday's 20-3 loss to the Packers.

The speedster saw as many targets in this contest as he had in his last three games combined, but with Brett Rypien under center instead of Matthew Stafford (thumb), Atwell posted his lowest yardage total since Week 5. The Rams have a bye week next on the docket, which will give Stafford time to heal his sprained thumb. If Rypien is still starting for the Rams in Week 11 against the Seahawks, it'll be hard for fantasy managers to trust any Rams pass catcher, let alone Atwell, who hasn't produced more than 31 receiving yards in a game since all the way back in Week 3 against the Bengals.

Atwell secured two of four targets for 21 yards and rushed twice for eight yards during Sunday's 43-20 loss to the Cowboys. He also threw a two-point conversion.

Atwell's biggest contribution in the passing game was a leaping 20-yard catch on third down late in the second quarter, which extended a drive that led to a Royce Freeman touchdown. The wideout later threw a pass to Matthew Stafford on a successful two-point conversion attempt early in the third quarter, which would prove to be Stafford's last action of the game. Backup Brett Rypien would only target Atwell once the rest of the contest, and the biggest contribution for the speedster from that point on was an eight-yard rush. Rypien doesn't have the arm to stretch the field like Stafford does, and any missed time for the veteran signal-caller would further depress Atwell's already downward trending stock.

Atwell caught one of two targets for 31 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Steelers.

The big touchdown catch by Atwell may or may not have been an errant pass directed to Cooper Kupp late in the first half, but the speedster happened to be in the right place at the right time and was able to walk into the end zone untouched after snagging the pass at the 1-yard line in front of a double-covered Kupp. For the third straight game, Puka Nacua and Kupp dominated Matthew Stafford's attention with a total of 19 targets to the rest of the team's 10, and perhaps more tellingly, Atwell's usage dipped to a season-low 71 percent of snaps on offense. With Atwell now looking like he's reverted to his usage patterns of 2022, he'll be hard to trust in lineups with a stout Cowboys pass defense up next in Week 8.

Atwell secured his only target for 30 yards during Sunday's 26-9 victory against the Cardinals.

Atwell's only action of the contest came on a third-quarter pass from Matthew Stafford, and the speedy wideout managed to escape a tackle after the catch and extended the play for an additional 10-yard gain. The third-year receiver has shown a knack for making explosive plays when on the field, but Cooper Kupp's return has put a serious dent in Atwell's opportunities to produce; he's fallen from an average of nearly nine targets per game in Weeks 1-4 to just three in Weeks 5-6. Atwell will try to reverse the downward trajectory he's been on since his hot start to the year against the Steelers in Week 7.

Atwell secured two of five targets for nine yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 23-14 loss to the Eagles.

Atwell turned out to be the player seemingly most affected by the return of Cooper Kupp, as his number of targets fell substantially from his previous four games. In fact, Atwell's three-yard touchdown grab in the first quarter was his only target of the game until the Rams' first drive of the fourth quarter. Matthew Stafford just missed connecting with the third-year wideout on a deep shot that would've been a 63-yard score, but with Kupp and rookie Puka Nacua commanding the vast majority of Stafford's attention in the passing game, Atwell may need to connect on those big plays to continue to be fantasy relevant. He'll look to utilize his field-stretching speed against a vulnerable Cardinals defense in Week 6.

Atwell secured five of nine targets for 24 yards during Sunday's 29-23 overtime victory against the Colts.

Atwell's yardage totals have dropped every week since his explosive 6-119-0 performance in Week 1, a troubling trend with another target hog in Cooper Kupp (hamstring) likely to return soon. The third-year wideout still enjoyed a healthy target share, third on the team behind rookie breakout Puka Nacua and Tyler Higbee, and through four weeks has already matched his target total from 2022 with 35. The speedster will look to bounce back against an Eagles defense that has shown to be susceptible to the pass in Week 5.

Atwell caught four of nine targets for 50 yards and a touchdown during Monday's 19-16 loss to the Bengals. He also rushed once for 22 yards.

A late fourth-quarter drive was capped by a one-yard score by the speedster, the only touchdown of the day for a Rams offense that mustered little traction up until their final drive of the contest. Atwell led the team in targets and tacked on a nifty 22-yard rush on the Rams' first drive that led to a field goal. The third-year wideout has posted a healthy 17-246-1 line through three games, and will look to keep his early-season momentum going in a Week 4 contest against the Colts.

Atwell had seven receptions (nine targets) for 77 yards while adding five yards on a rushing attempt in Sunday's 30-23 loss to San Francisco.

Puka Nacua (15-147-0) stole the show for the Rams in Week 2, but Atwell quietly posted a solid fantasy line following last week's 119-yard performance. He has received 17 targets through two games, and appears to have surpassed Van Jefferson on the depth chart to claim the No. 2 role for the Rams. The 23-year-old also logged his first carry of the season, a role he is accustomed to after seeing nine carries as a backup receiver in 2022. If you missed out on Puka on the waiver wire, Atwell appears to be a decent consolation prize where available.

Atwell had six receptions on eight targets for 119 yards in Sunday's 30-13 win over the Seahawks.

Atwell was elevated into the starting lineup following Cooper Kupp's (hamstring) placement on injured reserve this week. The 2021 second-round pick took full advantage of the opportunity and teamed up with rookie Puka Nacua to tie for the team lead in receiving yards. Veteran Van Jefferson also started (4-24-0) but failed to impress, dropping a potential long gain that hit him in the hands. It looks like Atwell and Nacua will be quarterback Matthew Stafford's preferred targets heading into a Week 2 matchup against San Francisco.

Atwell will act as the Rams' No. 2 wide receiver with Cooper Kupp (hamstring) downgraded to out for Sunday's game against the Seahawks, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Atlantic reports.

Van Jefferson will take over as the Rams' No. 1 wideout in Kupp's absence, which could potentially extend through the first four weeks of the 2023 campaign if the Rams choose to put Kupp on IR. Atwell saw no action during the preseason, a sign that coach Sean McVay was protecting the speedster for the regular season. Atwell and promising rookie standout Puka Nacua will serve as the secondary options behind the veteran Jefferson.

Atwell and rookie Puka Nacua are currently in a competition for the No. 3 wide receiver role in the Rams' offense, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.

Although veteran Demarcus Robinson has played well in training camp and may have an outside shot of earning the tertiary spot in the wideout room, Atwell and Nacua are the most likely players to earn the role, but the Rams "ideally" would like Atwell to be their No. 3. Atwell can stretch the field with 4.35 speed but lacks size, and last year the speedster's appearance on the field generally meant a play-action deep shot towards him was incoming. In training camp, Atwell has been placed in a variety of roles in the offense and has worked on his blocking as well, giving him more flexibility than in 2022 and helping increase the odds he will earn a more permanent role in the Rams' offense behind starters Cooper Kupp (hamstring) and Van Jefferson.

Atwell is also getting practice reps on special teams as a returner, competing with RB Kyren Williams and WR Austin Trammell.

Atwell caught two of three targets for 27 yards and rushed once for 11 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 19-16 overtime loss to the Seahawks.

Atwell's second career touchdown came on a bit of trickery from Sean McVay, with Baker Mayfield faking a handoff to Cam Akers before flicking the ball to Atwell, who was able to navigate his way in for the score to give the Rams a 13-7 lead. Atwell was thrust into an expanded role with the Rams' receiver corps decimated by injury, and in the final eight weeks of the season, he put up a 17-244-1 line with a revolving door of mediocre quarterbacks at the helm that were mostly unable to unlock the true potency of Atwell's game-breaking speed. Atwell will return for the third year of his rookie deal with optimism that he can carve out a role in the offense alongside Cooper Kupp, Allen Robinson, Van Jefferson and Ben Skowronek.

Atwell secured two of five targets for 10 yards in the Rams' 31-10 loss to the Chargers on Sunday.

Atwell couldn't parlay his game-breaking speed into any fantasy-relevant numbers on a day when Baker Mayfield netted only 111 passing yards. The second-year wideout does have at least one reception in seven straight games, but he hasn't topped 14 receiving yards since Week 14 going into the regular-season finale against the Seahawks.

Atwell caught both of his targets for 14 yards in Sunday's 51-14 win over Denver.

Atwell failed to gain any traction in Baker Mayfield's second start with the Rams, finishing with a mediocre stat line despite the crooked score. The speedy wideout didn't receive a rushing attempt after losing yardage on the ground in his last two outings. Atwell's recent struggles should keep him off the fantasy radar for Sunday's matchup against the Chargers.

Atwell caught one of four targets for 10 yards and rushed once for minus-four yards during Monday's 24-12 loss to the Packers.

Despite being on the field for a nearly identical amount of snaps as he was last week, his six total yards of offense had to be a disappointment to fantasy managers after he displayed plenty of chemistry and put up a respectable 5-50-0 line in Baker Mayfield's debut against the Raiders. Atwell's attempt at a jet sweep was snuffed out by Adrian Amos, and a 10-yard reception in the second quarter would be all the offense the speedster would muster on the day. The Rams seem intent on using Atwell more as the season nears an end, but an imposing Denver defense will make relying on him difficult in Week 16.

Atwell brought in five of nine targets for 50 yards and rushed twice for minus-5 yards in the Rams' 17-16 win over the Raiders on Thursday night.

Atwell finished second in receptions and receiving yards on the night for the Rams while pacing the team in targets, displaying impressive chemistry in his first game with Baker Mayfield as his quarterback. Atwell's catch total was a career high, and he's clearly carving out a larger role in the offense with a 10-183-1 line over his last four games. Given his rapport with Mayfield, the receiver's game-breaking speed and the team's injury-decimated wideout corps, Atwell's fantasy outlook is exceedingly bright going into a Week 15 Monday night road matchup versus the Packers on Dec. 19.

Atwell caught two of five targets for 48 yards in Sunday's 27-23 loss to the Seahawks.

The 48 yards led the Rams on the afternoon, as the team's passing game couldn't get much going with John Wolford under center in place of Matthew Stafford (neck). Atwell has seen his role grow with Cooper Kupp (ankle) and Allen Robinson (foot) also on the shelf, but no Rams receiver will be an appealing fantasy option in Week 14, even against the Raiders.

Atwell caught both of his targets for 23 yards in Sunday's 26-10 loss to the Chiefs.

Despite a relatively pedestrian receiving line for the speedy wideout, the two receptions actually doubled Atwell's total catches on the year. More encouraging for fantasy managers, Atwell was on the field for 28 of the Rams' 54 total snaps on offense, a massive increase over his previous career high of nine snaps in Week 5. With Allen Robinson (foot) out for the season and Cooper Kupp (ankle) likely done for the year as well, Atwell should see plenty of time on the field for the remainder of the 2022 campaign, with Brandon Powell, Jacob Harris and Lance McCutcheon (shoulder) sharing tertiary receiving duty behind starters Van Jefferson and Ben Skowronek.

Atwell caught his only target for 62 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-20 loss to the Saints.

Atwell saw the field for the first time since Week 6 and quickly made an impact, burning down the left sideline past Saints safety Chris Harris for an explosive first-quarter touchdown. Atwell's field-stretching ability and game-breaking speed may force the Rams to give the second-year wideout more time on the field, and with the Rams playing the Chiefs in Week 12, Atwell's big play ability may be more necessary than ever in hopes of keeping up with one of the most dynamic offenses in the league.

Atwell (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the Cardinals.

Atwell hasn't suited up since Week 6, as last year's second-round selection has yet to find a consistent role with the team. He'll work to earn a chance to suit up again in Week 11 against the Saints.

The speedy second-year wideout made the most of his time on the field, ending the first quarter with a nine-yard rush, but Atwell's limited snap share may be completely erased with the impending return of Van Jefferson (knee) after the Rams return from their bye week.

Atwell caught one of two targets for 54 yards in Sunday's 22-10 loss to the Cowboys.

A week after being a healthy scratch, Atwell made the most of his nine snaps on offense, getting in front of cornerback Trevon Diggs and snagging an over-the-shoulder dime from Matthew Stafford for 54 yards to help set up a Matt Gay field goal. Atwell wouldn't see another target after the big play, but the speedster proved that he has the field-stretching speed that Los Angeles needs with Van Jefferson (knee) on IR. In Week 6, the Rams take on a Carolina squad that just axed head coach Matt Rhule and defensive coordinator Phil Snow, which could provide Atwell with more big play opportunities before the Rams go on bye in Week 7.

Atwell (coach's decision) is inactive for Monday's game at San Francisco, Gilbert Manzano of The Orange County Register reports.

Atwell was available for the Rams' first three contests of the season, failing to haul in either of his targets on 12 offensive snaps. Now that he's donning street clothes Week 4, the team will turn to Brandon Powell and Lance McCutcheon as the reserve wide receivers behind the top trio of Cooper Kupp, Allen Robinson and Ben Skowronek.

Atwell failed to bring in his only target during Sunday's 20-12 win against the Cardinals.

Even with Van Jefferson (knee) out for at least the first two months of the regular season after being put on injured reserve, Atwell has failed to earn much of a role on offense, and was only on the field for three offensive snaps Sunday. Atwell logged two snaps on offense in Sunday's 31-27 victory against the Falcons.

Atwell has seemingly fallen behind Brandon Powell on the depth chart, and the speedy second-year wideout wasn't targeted on either of his two snaps on offense. With Van Jefferson (knee) likely to return to action soon, Atwell has an uphill battle ahead to find playing time barring injuries.

Atwell didn't catch his only target in the Rams' 31-10 loss to the Bills on Thursday night.

Atwell and Ben Skowronek were expected to be a committee in replacing the production of injured No. 3 wide receiver Van Jefferson (knee), but Atwell took just seven snaps and dropped his only target from Matthew Stafford. Skowronek worked as the No. 3 receiver with Atwell and Brandon Powell both receiving minimal playing time, and Skowronek was on the field for nearly the entire game on offense and turned six targets into four catches for 25 yards, seemingly relegating Atwell to a clear tier behind Skowronek on the depth chart for now. Atwell will look to get back on track in a Week 2 showdown against the Falcons.

Atwell and Ben Skowronek will likely see additional reps during Thursday's game against Buffalo with Van Jefferson (knee) ruled out, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.

During the preseason, both Atwell and Skowronek worked in a committee of wideouts while Jefferson sat out, and the duo emerged as the top two options to slot in as the No. 3 wide receiver for the Rams, complete with two different skill sets. Offensive coordinator Liam Coen noted that, "Tutu is a guy that you look at (as) a little guy, maybe just (a downfield guy), but he knows our offense. He can play a few different positions. He just gives us some flexibility that Ben does, as well, but just in a different way." Skowronek and Atwell will likely split time behind Cooper Kupp and Allen Robinson on Thursday, which will make it difficult to trust either player for fantasy outside extremely deep leagues.

Coach Sean McVay told reporters on Sunday that Atwell's absence in Saturday's preseason game against the Chargers was "a credit to what (Atwell has) done, but it's also in response to Van Jefferson's availability," Gilbert Manzano of The Orange County Register reports.

McVay's comments, combined with neither Atwell nor Ben Skowronek seeing the field on Saturday, make it seem like Jefferson may not be ready in time for Week 1. Atwell has also seemingly locked up a spot on the final 53-man roster with his coach's insistence on keeping him out of action, and he and Skowronek could split reps as the No. 3 wide receiver until Jefferson's return.

Atwell did not play in the Rams' 29-22 preseason win over the Chargers on Saturday night.

Jordan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports that head coach Sean McVay, who'd previously stated he wanted to see Atwell get some snaps in the preseason, said after the game that he opted not to play the speedster Saturday night because he feels the second-year wideout has shown enough in practice already. The 2021 second-round pick never logged a target over eight games in his rookie campaign, but he could have a meaningful role to open the season if Van Jefferson (knee) is unavailable to begin the campaign.

Atwell was listed as a backup on the Rams' first unofficial depth chart released on Wednesday, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports.

Ben Skowronek earned the No. 3 wide receiver role on the initial depth chart behind Cooper Kupp and Allen Robinson, but Atwell has impressed during camp, showing off his blazing speed and sure hands during a pair of big plays in this week's practice. One potential hiccup for Atwell could be durability, however, and he told coaches he weighed 150 pounds, which is 15 pounds lighter than his already tiny official roster playing weight of 165. After missing the latter half of last year with shoulder surgery, Atwell will need to be able to prove he can stay on the field to earn the trust of coaches and supplant Skowronek and Van Jefferson (knee) on the depth chart to start the regular season.

Atwell is part of a group of players currently serving as the No. 3 wide receiver while Van Jefferson misses time due to knee surgery, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.

Atwell's biggest asset as a receiver is his blistering 4.35 speed, which matches one of Jefferson's best attributes. Atwell is very undersized at 5-foot-9, 155 pounds, however, and missed more than half of the 2021 season due to shoulder surgery, which likely puts him behind Ben Skowronek in the current pecking order, with Jacob Harris and Brandon Powell also jockeying for playing time. The Rams are giving Atwell the opportunity to perform in a variety of routes during training camp, however, so the possibility of a carved out role for the 2021 second-round pick is there if Jefferson's recovery from surgery is slower than expected.

Since the undersized wideout's return to the practice field this offseason, though, Stafford noted that "everything" Atwell does appears "much more intentional." As a rookie, Atwell handled a key role on special teams and as a kick returner, but he was limited to just 10 offensive snaps. Though Kupp, Allen Robinson and Van Jefferson are cemented as the Rams' top wideout trio, Atwell could earn more chances to contribute in four-wide sets Year 2.

Per Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site, Atwell will need season-ending surgery to address a shoulder issue. Atwell -- who the Rams took with the 57th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft -- thus finishes his rookie campaign with 10 punt returns for 54 yards and five kick returns for 87 yards in eight games. Once he recovers from his surgery, the speedy Louisville product will set his sights on carving out a role in the team's offense in 2022.

Although coach Sean McVay reportedly criticized Atwell for his lack of urgency recently, the receiver could potentially see a larger role Sunday, especially if the Rams' starting receivers face any injuries. With DeSean Jackson not playing Sunday, the only other receiver on the Rams' roster behind Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods and Van Jefferson is Ben Skowronek. Expect Atwell to see some offensive snaps Sunday against the Texans.

While scarce playing time is nothing new for Atwell, it was fellow rookie Ben Skowronek returning kicks for the Rams on Sunday, and not Atwell. Fantasy settings where either Atwell or Skowronek are factors are probably few and far between, but this is still a minor development of note.

It was a quiet debut for the rookie, and it's particularly telling that he wasn't utilized in a kick- or punt-returning role. Atwell projects to establish a specialty role in the offense over the course of the season because of his elite speed and game-breaking potential in space. However, it's clear he's not being rushed into action. The Rams have four capable receivers ahead of him on the depth chart, including proven speedster DeSean Jackson.

Atwell recorded eight receptions on 12 targets for 62 yards in Saturday's preseason game against the Broncos.

Atwell has been absent from large portions of training camp, first as a result of being on the reserve/COVID-19 list. More recently, he was sidelined by a back issue. However, neither impacted his ability to rack up plenty of targets in the preseason finale. Atwell made the majority of his catches around the line of scrimmage, contrasting with his expected usage based on his 4.44 40-yard speed. His longest reception of the day went for 16 yards, though that was his only double-digit gain of the day. In addition to his duties as a wide receiver, Atwell served as the Rams' punt returned. Though his roster spot is secure, it's unlikely that Atwell will see a lot of targets to begin the regular season in a Week 1 matchup against Chicago.

The rookie second-round pick may be only fourth or fifth on the depth chart to start his career, but his 4.35 speed could be useful off the bench for occasional deep shots. It doesn't sound like Atwell's back injury is too serious.

The rookie snared a co-team-high 20-yard reception and tied with several players for third in catches on the night. Atwell is an intriguing but slight speedster that the Rams thought highly enough of to invest a second-round pick in last April, and he'll look to make an impact as a likely No. 5 receiver and special-teams asset this season.

Atwell's wheels are undeniable, but at a listed 5-foot-9, 165 pounds, it make take some time for Louisville product to earn steady enough snaps to make a fantasy splash.

Atwell's rookie training camp will get a late start because of the move, putting him behind the eight ball in terms of learning everything he needs to learn prior to his debut season. He will have to play catch-up with the other rookies and teammates once he's cleared from the list.
