The Cincinnati Reds will send out Brady Singer for tonight’s game against the Kansas City Royals. Singer began his career with the Royals and gave them some really good outings. But now he’ll want some revenge against his old team.
Singer has struggled against both sides of the plate over the last month. Yet, he’s limited his first 85 righties to a .130 ISO and wOBA of .309. It’s likely the Royals will have more righties than lefties in the lineup, which should help Singer manage this start well.
On the other hand, Daniel Lynch will pitch for the Royals. The lefty hasn’t had many reps, but so far, he’s looking great. The only issue is that he’s struck out 6.5% of his last 31 batters. The Reds will at least put the ball in play, and when you do that, good things happen.

These aren’t great numbers. However, over the last 30 days, Francis has limited line drives to 21.7% and has walked only 4.5% of batters. He’s even earned close to 23% of whiffs against righties and 12.1% of swinging strikes against righties in the last 30 days.
The strikeouts should be higher. He’s also limited line drives and isn’t walking many batters. He’ll improve over time, especially against a Rangers lineup that hasn’t hit consistent power against righties recently.
On the other hand, Nathan Eovaldi will get the call for the Rangers. He’s been electric this season. However, he’s facing a Blue Jays lineup that has hit a .205 ISO and wOBA of .353 against righties over the last month.
Toronto has a much better lineup and should be able to grind out at-bats to earn a tight win on the road.
