With the NBA’s regular season winding down, there are six games on the Thursday night schedule, and none have a spread larger than 6.5 points.
Our top NBA player props include a star player in the anticipated matchup between the Boston Celtics and the New York Knicks.
Let’s look at our favorite player props for tonight with the latest odds from top-rated sportsbooks.
Knicks’ Jalen Brunson Over 26.5 Points at Bovada
Boston Celtics vs. New York Knicks – 07:30 PM EDT
The Knicks and Celtics are meeting in a big game for momentum heading into the NBA playoffs next week, where these teams could meet in the Finals with the Title on the line, making this a key Celtics vs Knicks matchup to watch. The Knicks will rely on Jalen Brunson’s scoring after he had 30 points in his last game against Atlanta.
Brunson has actually been held under 17.5 points in five games since March, but this should be considered a big game and a playoff tune-up for both teams in the Eastern Conference. Brunson has faced Boston three times this year, and twice he scored 31 points, including 15 in the middle match.
Look for Brunson to make a statement at home with early scoring in a game where the Knicks are a 4.5-point favorite.
The Celtics actually rank higher on defense this season than they did last year, but Brunson has shown he can get his shots against them. Look for him to flirt with another 30-point game.
Bulls’ Tre Jones Over 19.5 Points at Bovada
Chicago Bulls vs. Washington Wizards – 07:00 PM EDT
With Josh Giddey expected to be out again for the Bulls, Tre Jones gets a great opportunity in a matchup against the poor Washington defense in a game where the Bulls are a 6-point road favorite, making this a favorable Bulls vs Wizards matchup for Chicago scorers.
The Wizards are 29th in points allowed and 29th in Defensive Rating this season, infamous for allowing Bam Adebayo to score 83 points in a single game. But the Wizards as a team are giving up huge points with 153 points last Wednesday and 152 points on Saturday, their two worst games this season.
The Bulls and Wizards just played in Washington on Tuesday, and this is a rematch in the same venue two nights later. Tre Jones scored 20 points in that blowout win to lead all Chicago starters in scoring. Trust him to hit 20 again, as the Wizards have mailed it in early on defense with a couple of games to go this season.
Lakers’ LeBron James Over 41.5 Points+Assists+Rebounds at Bovada
Los Angeles Lakers vs. Golden State Warriors – 10:00 PM EDT
Soak in every LeBron James vs. Steph Curry matchup since we don’t know how many more we’ll get to see. These teams met on opening night, with the Warriors winning that one, but James (sciatica) was out with injury. Both are expected to be in the lineup on Thursday night in Golden State, making this a must-watch Lakers vs Warriors prediction spot with playoff implications.
At 41 years old, James didn’t want to be the best player on the Lakers anymore, but after injuries to Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves, he has to be again. In fact, he has to do a ton more for the Lakers to have any chance to compete right now, going into the playoffs.
In two games against the Warriors this season, James has done his share with 37 and 38 total points+assists+rebounds (PAR) in those games. Very consistent numbers with 7 rebounds in each, just over 20 points in each, and 9-10 assists in each.
But James is going to have to do even more here, and he showed in his last game without Doncic and Reaves that he can still do it with 30 points, 9 rebounds, and 15 assists. He may not get that high in the stats, especially if the game gets away from the Lakers, but he should go over 41.5 PAR for the night.
