The second half of the MLB season is set to start, making this an ideal time to look for value in the updated World Series odds before the market tightens. Can anyone stop the Los Angeles Dodgers from winning another World Series? Will the Mariners surge after the All-Star break and take control of the American League? Could a surprise team make an unexpected October run?

World Series Odds 2026: Favorites, Contenders & Best Longshot Bets

With the playoff race heating up, the World Series futures market offers plenty of betting opportunities, whether you’re backing the favorites, targeting value contenders, or taking a chance on a longshot capable of making a deep October run. Let’s break down the latest World Series odds from the most trusted online sportsbooks.

  • San Diego Padres (+6600)

Every other MLB team is priced at +8000 odds or longer.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are overwhelming favorites to win the 2026 World Series, and it’s not difficult to understand why. Few teams can match their combination of superstar talent, lineup depth, and pitching, making them the most complete roster in baseball entering the second half of the season. Los Angeles has consistently played like a championship contender and remains the team everyone else is trying to catch.

But can anyone unseat the Dodgers as they try to get a three-peat?

2026 World Series Favorites

The Dodgers are in their own tier at the top of the board.

Los Angeles Dodgers (+190)

The Dodgers deserve to be overwhelming World Series favorites after posting a 61-36 record despite receiving minimal production from two of their biggest offseason additions, Kyle Tucker and Edwin Díaz. Even without major contributions from those prized free-agent acquisitions, Los Angeles has remained the class of Major League Baseball thanks to its loaded lineup, deep pitching staff, and championship-caliber depth. The Dodgers are also widely viewed as the most likely landing spot for Tigers ace Tarik Skubal, which would make this team truly insane.

I usually don’t like laying heavy chalk on a futures bet, but I might make an exception in this case. What would these odds look like if they land Skubal, as expected? Probably +150 or shorter. To that end, if you like the Dodgers, the time to take them is now.

2026 World Series Contenders

I’ve nailed down two World Series contenders at +1000 odds or longer.

Seattle Mariners (+1000)

The Mariners have all the ingredients to make a serious World Series run, starting with one of the deepest and most talented starting rotations in baseball. Seattle’s pitching staff has consistently given it a chance to win every series, and the outlook could improve even further once top pitching prospect Kade Anderson joins the club down the stretch. Adding another high-end arm to an already elite rotation would make the Mariners a dangerous postseason opponent.

There’s also reason to believe the offense has another gear. Cal Raleigh remains one of baseball’s premier power hitters and is capable of carrying the lineup for extended stretches, while the supporting cast has enough talent to provide more consistent production over the second half. At +1000, Seattle offers excellent value for a team with legitimate championship upside and one of the strongest pitching staffs in the majors.

Tampa Bay Rays (+1800)

The Rays continue to outperform expectations and look like one of the best values on the World Series futures board. Junior Caminero has emerged as an American League MVP candidate, giving Tampa Bay the middle-of-the-order superstar every contender needs entering the stretch run. As usual, the Rays have maximized their roster through player development while remaining firmly in the postseason picture.

Tampa Bay is also expected to be aggressive ahead of the trade deadline, with additional pitching and lineup help potentially on the way. The Rays have consistently shown they know how to build winning rosters despite operating with fewer resources than most contenders. At +1800, you’re getting an experienced organization with an MVP-caliber player and the flexibility to improve even further before October, making the Rays one of the most appealing value plays among legitimate contenders.

2026 World Series Longshots

I’m going with one intriguing longshot to win the World Series.

Toronto Blue Jays (+5000)

The Blue Jays have been one of the most disappointing offensive teams in baseball, but there’s plenty of reason to believe a second-half turnaround is possible. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has yet to produce at the elite level fans have come to expect, but if he performs at career norms over the final few months, Toronto’s lineup could look significantly more dangerous. The pitching staff already has a Cy Young frontrunner in Dylan Cease, while Louie Varland has emerged as a lockdown closer.

The ingredients for a playoff run are still in place. An ace at the top of the rotation, a dominant bullpen arm, and the potential for the offense to improve give Toronto a much higher ceiling than its current record suggests. At +5000, the Blue Jays are a nice price right now.

Final Verdict: Lay the Chalk on the Dodgers

The Dodgers deserve to be overwhelming World Series favorites, and while +190 isn’t the most exciting price on the board, it still offers value for the team with the highest championship ceiling in baseball. Los Angeles owns one of the deepest rosters in the majors, has managed a 61-36 record despite receiving limited production from Kyle Tucker and Edwin Díaz, and could become even stronger if it lands Tigers ace Tarik Skubal before the trade deadline.

There are certainly intriguing longshots capable of making a deep October run, but none combine elite talent, roster depth, and upside quite like the Dodgers. If Tucker and Díaz begin producing at the level they’re capable of, this lineup becomes even more dangerous. Add another frontline starter, and Los Angeles could separate itself from the rest of the field.

At +190, the number may not last much longer. If the Dodgers strengthen their roster at the deadline or begin playing closer to their full potential, expect the odds to shorten. Lay the chalk now before the market moves even further in Los Angeles’ favor.
