Done for season
Head coach Bret Bielema indicated Saturday that Feagin (shoulder) will miss the rest of the season and will undergo season-ending surgery, Joey Wagner of 247Sports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Feagin suffered a shoulder injury last week that will force him sit out the remainder of the season. In his absence, Reggie Love is expected to see a spike in usage as he is the only healthy running back for the Illini. The freshman running back finishes his 2023 campaign with 95 carries for 438 yards, two touchdowns and one fumble.

Out Saturday at Iowa
Feagin (shoulder) will not play Saturday at Iowa.
ANALYSIS
Feagin will not be available Saturday as he deals with a shoulder injury he suffered last Saturday versus Indiana. He did not practice during the week, so his absence is not surprising. Reggie Love is the only healthy running back for the Illini, so he is likely to see a significant workload versus the tough Hawkeyes defense.

Absent from practices this week
Feagin (shoulder) has not practiced this week, Bret Beherns of WCIA3 reports.
ANALYSIS
Feagin not having this week does not make his status good for Illinois' upcoming game at Iowa. With just two days before the Week 12 clash, it seems more likely that his availability status is doubtful instead of questionable.

Status uncertain vs Iowa
Head coach Bret Bielema indicated Monday that Feagin (shoulder) is questionable for Saturday's game against Iowa, Bret Beherns of WCIA3 reports.
ANALYSIS
Feagin left the game early against Indiana with an apparent shoulder injury. The freshman running back's status is to be determined, as he is not 100 percent functional, per Bielema. In his absence, Reggie Love filled in as the primary back.

Departs after possible aggravation
Feagin left the field again holding his right shoulder during the fourth quarter of Saturday's game against Indiana, Joey Wagner of 247Sports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Feagin left the contest in the first quarter due to injury, but he briefly returned in the fourth before leaving the field with an apparent injury again. It seems unlikely the staff will send the freshman back on to the field again, which would leave Reggie Love as the primary back the rest of the way.

Returns to action
Feagin (undisclosed) rejoined the action during the fourth quarter of Saturday's game versus Iowa, Joey Wagner of 247Sports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Feagin departed the contest in the fourth quarter and didn't take another tote until the fourth, so he is clearly not 100 percent healthy. It remains to be seen if the issue will have any lingering effects on next week, but he's at least been able to gut it out a bit Saturday late in a close game.

Leaves Saturday's game
Feagin departed Saturday's game in the first quarter due to injury, Joey Wagner of 247Sports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Feagin went to the medical tent after just three carries for nine yards. While he's reportedly returned to the sidelines, the freshman back has yet to return to the contest. Reggie Love continues to handle most of the totes in his absence and will likely continue to do so if Feagin isn't cleared to return.
Nov 6, 2023
Solid day in victory
Feagin compiled 22 carries for 89 yards and gathered in all three targets for 59 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 27-26 win versus Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Feagin put together a productive day against Minnesota, putting up 148 total yards and a score for the Illini. The touchdown came in the third quarter, when Feagin raced past defenders for a 54-yard touchdown catch-and-run. Feagin will get an opportunity to put up another productive outing next week against Indiana.

Logs season high in carries
Feagin totaled 24 rushes for 97 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 25-21 loss to Wisconsin.
ANALYSIS
Feagin found his way into the end zone for the second week in a row, as he continued to serve as the premier back in the Fighting Illini's banged-up backfield. With junior running back Reggie Love (lower leg) still sidelined, the freshman logged career highs in rushing attempts and yards, and he also found the end zone for the second week in a row. While Feagin had to temporarily exit while dealing with a leg issue, redshirt freshman Aidan Laughery was the only other Illinois running back to log any carries (three) in this run-oriented offensive game plan. Feagin has now totaled 43 carries for 181 yards and two touchdowns over the last two games. With Illinois on bye Week 9, it's possible Feagin's workload could take a hit if Love is able to return for the team's next game against Minnesota on Saturday, Nov. 4.

Expected to play
Head coach Bret Bielema indicated Monday that Feagin (shoulder) is a full-go this week and is expected to play during Saturday's matchup against Wisconsin, Jeremy Werner of 247Sports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After coming out of the game with a shoulder injury, Feagin will be active for this week's upcoming matchup. The freshman running back filled in admirably for starter Josh McCray as he averaged over 4 yards-per-carry and scored a crucial touchdown on a 2-yard run. He will continue to share the backfield with Aidan Laughery.

Suffers injury in win
Feagin came out of Saturday's victory versus Maryland with a shoulder injury, Jeremy Werner of 247Sports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Feagin seems to have gotten banged up during the Fighting Illini's win. The freshman running back had totaled 19 carries for 84 yards and one touchdown as he was able to get more opportunities in wake of Josh McCray's season-ending injury.
Oct 8, 2023
Tallies eight touches in loss
Feagin compiled five rushes for 15 yards and hauled in 3 of 5 targets for 11 yards during Friday's 20-7 defeat to Nebraska.
ANALYSIS
Feagin logged the Fighting Illini's second-most rushing attempts behind starting running back Reggie Love, who tallied seven carries before exiting the game with a leg injury in the third quarter. The true freshman backup wound up with a team high in rushing yards despite his meager final stat line, and he has now totaled 16 carries for 100 yards over the last two games. The 250-pound Illinois native could be in line for even more playing time moving forward with sophomore running back Josh McCray now slated to undergo a season-ending neck surgery. Feagin's workload could increase even more if Love is unable to suit up Week 7 against Maryland.
Oct 4, 2023
Gets double-digit carries in loss
Feagin had 11 carries for 85 yards during Saturday's 44-19 loss to Purdue.
ANALYSIS
Feagin logged all 11 of his carries after the midway point of the second quarter, as he handled the Fighting Illini's rushing workload down the stretch after starting running back Josh McCray accumulated 35 yards on 10 carries in the first half. The backup running back finished as Illinois' leading rusher in terms of carries and rushing yards, though he was not responsible for the team's lone rushing touchdown, which instead went to McCray. Feagin's first significant usage of the season is an encouraging sign for his potential future role with the Fighting Illini; yet, his short-term fantasy relevance should remain obsolete with usual No. 1 running back Reggie Love likely to return Week 6 after missing this loss with an ankle injury.
