Horn was 0-for-1 passing for zero yards during Friday's 48-14 win versus Arkansas.

The redshirt freshman threw just six passes all season, though one went for a touchdown. Starting quarterback Brady Cook is only a junior, so it remains to be seen what Horn's role will look like in 2024.

Horn will not start in Thursday's game against South Dakota, Matt Zenitz of On3 reports.

Though he is not the official starting quarterback, Horn is still expected to receive some playing time in Thursday's season opener. Horn is the No. 2 quarterback from Brady Cook, who was the Tigers' starter last season. The starting competition is expected to continue into the season, though Cook appears to be the clear favorite to eventually win the job.

Horn is listed as a co-starter for Missouri's game Thursday against South Dakota.

Missouri listed Horn and Brady Cook as co-starters for Week 1. The news is not too surprising, considering both quarterbacks were expected to split snaps Saturday. All in Week 1, Horn has the opportunity to surpass his 2022 numbers, which include only two passing attempts (both incompletions) and one carry for 10 yards across a game.

Horn is expected to take snaps under center alongside Brady Cook in Missouri's season opener against South Dakota on Aug. 31, Eli Hoff of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Horn took first-team reps alongside Brady Cook during Saturday's practice and head coach Eli Drinkwitz stated that he expects to use both quarterbacks in the season opener. Drinkwitz has expressed his openness to using multiple quarterbacks throughout the duration of the offseason, but many expected Jake Garcia to slot in behind Brady Cook on the depth chart heading into the season.
