The Tigers don’t have the most efficient lineup against lefties, but if they’re patient, they’ll get Snell out of the game early.

Justin Steele Will Be Fine?
The Cubs played two games in Japan and had Justin Steele pitch the second game of that series.
Steele finished with an 11.25 ERA and a loss. He didn’t look great against the Dodgers. But he was also pitching against the Los Angeles Dodgers in another country.
That’s not the ideal spot to debut.
Therefore, the Cubs are rolling with Steele again tonight in a little redemption game for himself. Steele added 24.3% of strikeouts and limited teams to a .117 ISO and wOBA of .269 last year. He was a stud and should be able to keep walks down against a Diamondbacks group that walked only 7.5% of the time against lefties last season.
Zac Gallen Had His Ups & Downs
The Diamondbacks will roll with Zac Gallen tonight. Gallen had his ups and downs last season but ultimately still struck out 25.1% of batters.
The main concern was the fact that he allowed 46.7% of hard contact when players made contact. That was super high. He’ll want to keep that number down. But against the Cubs, it’s unlikely.

Luis Severino’s First Start With Oakland!
The Oakland Athletics actually spent some money this off-season. They brought in former Mets’ starter, Luis Severino.
Severino only struck out 20.8% of batters last season. He also allowed a .172 ISO and wOBA of .341 to lefties last year.
He’ll have to face Cal Raleigh and Luke Raley, who both destroyed right-handed pitching last season with super high ISO numbers.
Additionally, Oakland’s bullpen is a major question mark. They’ve got Mason Miller, but what about the rest of the group?

Logan Gilbert Will Start For Seattle
The Mariners will send out former All-Star starter Logan Gilbert. Gilbert gave up a .169 ISO to 359 lefties last season and will battle lefties like Lawrence Butler, JJ Bleday, and Tyler Soderstrom.
All three of these lefties had legitimate success against righties last year.
