The Mariners’ offense has collapsed over the last 30 days. The unit has hit a .153 ISO and wOBA of .315 with more than 30% of strikeouts against righties over the previous month.
That lineup will take on Ronel Blanco, who has already thrown a no-hitter this season. Blanco hasn’t been incredible yet, but he’s at least limited hard contact to 31.4% and has held teams to a .293 wOBA.
Even if the Mariners hit for some power, don’t expect many baserunners when they do.
Astros Can Create More Havoc
The Astros have hit a .341 wOBA against righties over the last month. They’ve ultimately got seven batters hitting an above-average wOBA against righties in the previous 30 days.
Meanwhile, they’ll face Bryan Woo of the Mariners. Woo has allowed a .486 wOBA to his last 34 batters and has given up 33.3% of line drives to those same batters.
The Pick
I acknowledged the Mariners won’t have many runners on base. The Astros should be the opposite. They should have way more opportunities to bring home runs.
