The San Diego Padres will face Hunter Brown of the Astros tonight. While Brown has been excellent over the last month, he’s still allowed more than 30% of fly balls to lefties and has given up more than 28% of line drives to righties.
There are ways to attack him to earn some runs.
The Padres’ projected lineup has also hit a .190 ISO and wOBA of .330 with just 18.5% of strikeouts. They’ll be able to put the ball in play and potentially make stuff happen.
Michael King’s Struggles Against Lefties
The Padres will counter with Michael King. While he’s been consistently good this season, he’s still allowed a .182 ISO and wOBA of .321 to his last 63 lefties.
Beyond that, King has allowed 28.6% of fly balls and 26.2% of line drives to lefties in the last month.
To hit the Over 7, both teams don’t need a ton of runs. Lefties like Yordan Alvarez, Jason Heyward, Kyle Tucker, and Jon Singleton can do severe damage against King.
