College Football Player Props for Week 9: Oct 20-26

CJ Williams and Ben Gulbranson celebrate after a touchdown against the Florida State Seminoles.

It’s getting harder and harder to find any edges for our NCAAF prop bets. As we get further into the 2025 campaign and we learn more and more about what these teams and players are capable of, the betting market tightens around those college football player props. Still, Still, for our NCAAF player props Week 9 breakdown, if we dig a little deeper, we can still harvest a tasty bet or three.

NCAAF Prop Bets Week 9 At-a-Glance

We’re sticking with the Over again for this week’s NCAAF player props, and we’ll be hammering skill players from the major conferences as usual – but two of our targets come from schools that might not qualify as “recreational” from a betting perspective. Size your bets accordingly.

Alabama’s Jam Miller (Over 68.5 Rushing Yards -114)

Alabama Crimson Tide vs. South Carolina Gamecocks – Saturday, October 25, 3:30 PM EDT

No worries about our featured pick coming across as sharp action. Alabama (6-1 SU, 5-1-1 ATS) has returned to the graces of the betting public after six straight wins in the mighty SEC; our sources tell us there’s sharp money landing on South Carolina (3-4 SU and ATS), enough to bump them down from +13.5 at the open to as low as +11.5 at press time. Check out our live college football odds to see if they’ve gotten even shorter.

We’ve already had Miller in our player props this year, and successfully as well. That was to score a touchdown; Miller is remains a value pick at –145 to do the same this week, but the projections look even better for this Rushing Yards prop – and better still to take the Over for TE-H Josh Cuevas and back-up WR-H Lotzeir Brooks when it comes to Receiving Yards. Those are deeper cuts on Alabama’s depth chart, so package them with the Miller props if you want to appear plausibly recreational.

Stanford’s Ben Gulbranson (Over 138.5 Passing Yards -114)

Stanford Cardinal vs. Miami (FL) Hurricanes – Saturday, October 25, 7:00 PM EDT

Stanford (3-4 SU, 2-5 ATS) is where the smart kids go, but there doesn’t seem to be any particular edge for either side of their ACC matchup with the publicly-adored Hurricanes (5-1 SU, 4-2 ATS), even with the Cardinal getting 30 points at press time. Maybe that will keep our player props from looking too suspicious.

As with those Alabama props, our cunning plan is to package some side bets on the Over for Receiving Yards; WR-X CJ Williams is a viable choice as Stanford’s leading receiver, but TE Sam Roush looks even better. The difference here is that Gulbranson projects to have the biggest edge of them all for his passing yards prop, as these players prepare to face a Miami defense that only ranks No. 21 on the F+ Ratings at BCF Toys.

BYU’s LJ Martin (To Score a Touchdown -165)

BYU Cougars vs. Iowa State Cyclones – Saturday, October 25, 3:30 PM EDT

Is BYU a party school in disguise? Maybe so; the public money charts show the Cougars (7-0 SU, 5-2 ATS) raking in even more action than Alabama this year, although Iowa State (5-2 SU, 3-3-1 ATS) isn’t far behind. Neither side looks all that sharp with the Cyclones laying three points at home, so we should be in the clear for this Big 12 battle.

Fittingly enough, we could just as easily have picked Iowa State RB Carson Hansen to score a touchdown or two-plus, alongside TE-H Benjamin Brahmer going Over 29.5 receiving yards. But while the projected edges are a bit smaller for LJ Martin compared to Hansen, the former is also a very compelling candidate to go Over 88.5 rushing yards. Throw in WR-SL Parker Kingston going Over 52.5 receiving yards to give your player prop bets that added veneer of BYU fandom.

Bet on Week 9 Player Props Now!

If you’re only putting our three featured props in your NCAAF picks, Week 9 has been arranged for you into three separate categories (rushing yards, passing yards, touchdowns), so it doesn’t look like you’ve found a specific stat to exploit. The Miller prop is our favorite because he’s an Alabama player, and it’s an SEC matchup; see the full list of what’s available this week on our live college football player props board.
