There’s nothing bad about going 1-2 with your baseball props; you just need your winner to pay out at more than +200. That’s what happened for us last Tuesday when Anthony Santander (+230) found the RBI column during Toronto’s 9-6 win over the New York Yankees, helping the Blue Jays stamp their ticket to the American League Championship Series.
Turning our attention to the National League, we’re once again left with just one game for our MLB props today: Game 2 of the NLCS between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers. It should be very exciting indeed, judging by Monday’s 2-1 win by the Dodgers as -155 road faves. Let’s see if we can take advantage with some sharp baseball picks.
MLB Best Props Today
We settled for the three MLB props for Tuesday: one game prop featuring the Dodgers, and two player props featuring LA’s finest.

The Best Live Baseball Lines Are at OddsTrader
The reports we’re looking at showed sharp action landing on the Dodgers for Game 1; that result has just come in as we go to press, but we’ve already had some indication that the sharps will stick with Los Angeles for Game 2, after they opened at –120 on the early overseas moneylines.
The plan as always: Turn that moneyline into a profitable First 5 Innings bet, then package it with two player props from the same team we’ve chosen. Los Angeles Dodgers 1st 5 ML (-135) at Caesars
It looked for a while there like the Dodgers wouldn’t even need to go to their bullpen Monday night. Blake Snell held Milwaukee to one hit over eight innings before giving way to Roki Sasaki, who nearly coughed up the lead before Blake Treinen saved Game 1 for L.A.
There’s no need to be too concerned about the Dodgers in Game 2. Their bullpen ranked No. 4 overall on the FanGraphs WAR charts during the regular season. Be that as it may, it’s good to know for the purposes of our bet that Yoshinobu Yamamoto (3.05 xFIP) allowed one earned run or fewer in each of his last six trips to the mound before that less-than-stellar performance against Philadelphia in Game 3 of the NLDS – and even then, the Phillies were only up 3-1 after five innings.
Shohei Ohtani Over 0.5 Hits (-193) at Caesars
Betting projections for Game 2 are still being compiled at the time of this writing, but it’s hard to go wrong betting on Shohei Ohtani. At the very least, you’ll look like a standard “recreational” bettor supporting your favorite team and player – but there should be some value as well, given Ohtani’s career line versus expected Brewers starter Freddy Peralta (3.85 xFIP):
- 3-for-9 (.333 BA)
- 2 HR
- 4 RBI
- 2 BB
- 1.500 OPS
Will Smith Over 0.5 Hits (-159) at Caesars
Chances are you’ll get even more betting value from Smith – still a 3-time MLB All-Star and a beloved Dodger, but not quite in Ohtani’s public orbit. Here are Smith’s key numbers off Peralta:
- 4-for-13 (.308 BA)
- 1 HR
- 2 RBI
- 3 BB
- .976 OPS
The Brewers bullpen finished just behind Los Angeles in fifth place on the FanGraphs WAR chart, so offense will presumably be harder to come by in the later innings, especially when neither Ohtani (left) nor Smith (right) is a switch-hitter. That will make higher variance baseball props like home runs and RBIs even more volatile – but it will only take one measly hit apiece off Peralta for each of these picks to come true. Bet accordingly.

Tips for MLB Props
Before we go, here’s our standard checklist of things to keep in mind before you hammer Tuesday’s props:
- Wind conditions are especially sensitive for betting on baseball; always get the latest forecasts before rushing to the ticket window.
- Official starting lineups and bullpen availability notes are typically available 60-90 minutes before game time, so you might want to protect your wagers by waiting for that information.
- Different sportsbooks will have slightly different totals, either with the over/under number itself or the vigorish that comes attached. The more books you sign up for, the easier it will be to shop around for the best MLB props.
- Size your bets according to how big your potential profit margin is. Small edge, small bet; big edge, big bet. We see some tasty edges available at press time for the three baseball props listed above, so manage your bankroll to boost your bottom line, and we’ll see you on the diamond.
