Will there be baseball in November this year? Not if the Toronto Blue Jays win Game 6 of the 2025 World Series this Friday. The Jays took a 3-2 series lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers by winning two of the three games at Dodger Stadium; now they’ll have two cracks at Rogers Centre to beat the defending champions and claim Toronto’s first title since 1993.
Do the Jays belong in our World Series picks today? All will be revealed in what could be our last batch of expert World Series picks for 2025 here at OddsTrader.
World Series Picks Today At-a-Glance
While the Jays have the lead in this series, outscoring L.A. 29-18 along the way, it’s basically an even matchup on paper. Toronto has slightly better hitting; the Dodgers have the slightly better starting rotation, and both teams have some question marks in the bullpen.
Those questions didn’t need any answers the last two times Los Angeles sent Yoshinobu Yamamoto (3.05 xFIP) to the mound.
Yamamoto went the distance in Game 2 of the National League Championship Series versus the Milwaukee Brewers, and he did it again in Game 2 of the World Series, holding each of his opponents to one earned run while allowing a combined seven hits and striking out 15 with just one walk.
No wonder some of today’s MLB picks are reportedly hammering L.A. in early betting.
Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Toronto Blue Jays (TOR +118)
Friday, October 31, 2025 – 08:00 PM EDT
We’ve already seen Toronto knock down the other three pillars in the Dodgers’ rotation.
Blake Snell, Tyler Glasnow and Shohei Ohtani all got dinged up, but the Jays have yet to solve Yamamoto. The AI predictions have L.A. winning Game 6 by a final score of 4.9 runs to 3.9, giving the Dodgers a 1.7% betting edge as –140 road faves.
We’ll run with that as our official World Series Game 6 pick for Friday night.
It’s a somewhat tepid recommendation, mind you. That small edge isn’t enough to warrant placing any really big bets – save those for all the tasty baseball props you’ll find on the World Series odds board, which we’ll touch on in a moment.
Total: 7.5 (Over –110, Under –110)
While the predicted combined score of 8.8 runs is well over the posted total of 7.5, it’s not high enough to deliver any expected value – quite the opposite, at minus-5.4% EV.
But we’re still dealing with two of the top five hitting teams on the FanGraphs WAR charts:
- Toronto: 32.6 WAR (No. 2)
- Los Angeles: 29.0 WAR (No. 5)
Current Dodgers have also had some historical success against projected Jays starter Kevin Gausman (3.77 xFIP), racking up a combined .741 lifetime OPS with 10 home runs in 180 at-bats – including a pair of dingers in Game 2.
We’ll make Over 7.5 our official pick, but only for a token bet size; we should also point out that some big bets have come in on the Under, although it’s not considered sharp action by our sources.
What We’ve Covered and Next Steps
There’s a small projected betting edge on the Dodgers at –140 and no edge at all on Over 7.5; the good stuff is with those MLB player props, especially with Yamamoto going Under 4.5 hits allowed (–115).
