Seattle’s First Post Season
Although its only year two of the franchise, the Seattle Kraken have turned this ship around following their last-place finish in the Pacific division last season, they now lead the Wild Card race for this year’s playoffs, currently ahead of 2nd placed Winnipeg by three points and 3rd placed Calgary by seven points as well as having played two games less than both teams.
At the time of writing Seattle’s playoff chances are 99.2%, but significantly much lower odds to actually hoist the Stanley Cup at just 2.9%.
Minnesota Have Battened Down the Hatches
This Minnesota team has been very strong defensively in recent games having allowed just 2.4 goals per game over their previous 15 outings. Their impressive run has seen them now allow their season-low of 2.64 goals per game, which is the 3rd best in the league right now.
The Wild have taken control of a very inconsistent Central division and have started getting hot towards the end of the season, can they bring this form into the playoffs?
First things first, the Minnesota Wild are without their top points scorer this season, which is very significant for a team who only scores 2.9 goals per game, which amazingly is the 10th worst in the entire NHL. Yet, Minnesota still sits atop the central division.
Our computer is predicting a five-goal game here, this makes a lot of sense in our eyes and although laying -140 juice here with the current NHL odds, we love the under 6.5 total.
The under 5.5 goals at +115 is also worth considering as these teams combine for 5.75 goals overall and only one of their five previous meetings has seen 7+ goals and the previous two ended in a shut-out win each.
OddsTrader Final Score Prediction: Seattle Kraken 2 – Minnesota Wild 3
OddsTrader Pick: Under 6.5 Goals (-140) at FanDuel

Avalanche Finishing Strong
Colorado are pushing for a strong finish to the season in hopes of retaining their Stanley Cup having now gone 8-2 over their previous 10 games.
The current cup holders had been lingering outside the top four in the Western Conference for much of the season but are now within one win of jumping into 3rd in the Conference and first in the Central division.
Colorado allow only 2.74 goals per game, which is ranked as the 7th best this season, making up for the lack of offense which sees them having just the 15th-best overall. On the flip side, their offense has the 4th best powerplay whilst defensively they have the 15th-best penalty kill.
Aimless Ducks Continue to Lose
With nothing left to play for this season, Anaheim have all but downed tools, having now lost 8 of their previous 10 games. Although their overall record now sits at a very poor 23-40-10, they had a small resurgence a few weeks back where they won 5 out of 6 games and scored a point in all six games having lost one in overtime.
Our computer is predicting a high-scoring game between these two teams, with the Ducks being so poor defensively allowing the most shots per game this season as well as 4.03 goals per game we must suspect Colorado will be able to score a few goals tonight.
The Ducks have allowed 4.2 goals per game in their previous seven but have also scored 3.1 in the same number of games. If the Ducks can’t score three goals to aid us over here, don’t be surprised if Colorado scores five or six alone.
OddsTrader Final Score Prediction: Colorado Avalanche 4 – Anaheim Ducks 3
OddsTrader Pick: Over 6.5 Goals (-114) at BetRivers
