Can Reese Olson Achieve a Win?
Detroit’s starter, Reese Olson, has a 0-4 record but an ERA of 2.09. That’s almost unheard of. However, tonight, I think the Tigers can get Olson a win.
For one, Olson has held batters to a .036 ISO and wOBA of .229 with 54.6% of ground balls. On the other hand, the offense pairs up nicely against Michael Wacha of the Royals.
Wacha’s Regression Incoming
Michael Wacha has a 4.71 ERA this season. Yet, he’s only allowed a .173 ISO and wOBA of .327. Those are bad numbers, but not incredibly bad. However, he’s allowed more fly balls and line drives to lefties this season. That’s what makes me believe that it can get worse for Wacha tonight.
The Tigers have Riley Greene, Wenceel Perez, and Kerry Carpenter hitting well against righties as left-handed bats.
