Purdue Won’t Get Anything Easy
The Purdue Boilermakers won’t get anything easy on the offensive end.
Purdue is a quality offense, shooting a 56.1% effective field goal percentage. However, the Boilermakers are in line to face a Houston defense that ranks No. 1 in the nation.
Houston has limited teams to 30.6% from deep and 44.3% from inside the arc. While Houston fouls at a higher rate, the Cougars have limited teams to 28.7% of offensive rebounds and have gained more than 21% of turnovers per game.
Purdue can shoot lights out when it gets open looks. But open looks will be hard to come by in this game.
Houston Will Find a Way
The Houston Cougars aren’t the most efficient offense inside the arc. After all, they’ve shot 48.8% from inside the arc this season.
That said, Purdue has watched teams shoot 56.2% from inside the arc this season. Additionally, Purdue has allowed a 52% effective field goal percentage, earned fewer turnovers, and allowed more offensive rebounds.
Give me Houston at -7.5. People thought Gonzaga had a chance against Houston last weekend, and that didn’t go well. Ultimately, Gonzaga matched up better than Purdue will.
