The cover for this NFL offensive player of the year article shows Jonathan Taylor #28 of the Indianapolis Colts tackled by Kyle Dugger #29 of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Patrick Queen #6 of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Since the MVP is typically saved for quarterbacks, the NFL Offensive Player of the Year Award is typically given out to an offensive player who isn’t a quarterback.

Last year, Saquon Barkley won the award after a remarkable first season in Philadelphia. But he’s not even close to the top of the list this year. For most of the season, it’s been the same one guy at the top of the list.

I’ll share the 2025-26 NFL Offensive Player of the Year Award odds below.

2025-26 NFL Offensive Player of the Year Players to Watch

We’re already two-thirds of the way through the NFL season. We’ve had some intriguing stars break out. But we’ve also seen some of the league’s most consistent stars continue their dominance this year.

Jonathan Taylor is currently the super-favorite among Offensive Player of the Year Award betting odds. But guys like Jaxson-Smith Njigba and Christian McCaffrey still have a fighting chance.

Indianapolis Colts Jonathan Taylor (-400)

The Colts running back has added 189 carries for 1,139 yards and 15 touchdowns. He’s second in the NFL in carries, but first in the NFL in yards and touchdowns.

Jonathan Taylor is currently rushing for six yards a carry, which is the highest average he’s ever had in his career. He’s also protected the football this year and has added two more touchdowns receiving.

Not only is Taylor playing incredibly well, but the Indianapolis Colts are performing well above expectations and are playing for a playoff spot. This offense is deep and it starts with Taylor.

There’s no better offensive player than Taylor right now. Even at -400, Taylor is the play to win the award.

Seattle Seahawks’ Jaxon Smith-Njigba (+280)

It’s been a monster season for Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

The Seahawks receiver ranks fourth in receptions and first in receiving yards with 1,146 yards. However, he’s only caught five touchdowns and has averaged below 16 yards per catch.

He’s become a legitimate star wide receiver this season. But his impact hasn’t been nearly as high as Taylor’s has been to the Colts.

The receptions and yards are there. But the touchdowns aren’t. That’s a major factor and reason why Taylor will likely win the award over Smith-Njigba. Unless Smith-Njigba has multi-touchdown games to close out the season, it’ll be hard for him to win.

San Francisco 49ers’ Christian McCaffrey (+3000)

Christian McCaffrey has added the most carries in the NFL with 193. However, he’s only earned 707 yards rushing, which is 3.7 yards per carry.

Of course, he’s also a major in the passing game. McCaffrey has recorded 74 catches for another 732 yards. He’s also added 11 touchdowns total this season.

But as long as his rushing stats stay below four yards a carry and his touchdowns are lower than Taylor’s, there’s a very small chance he’ll be able to win the award.

What We’ve Covered, and Next Steps

There’s a big drop from the players we’ve just mentioned to guys like Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown at +2200, so chances are you’ll see the media conversation grow even tighter around the top favorites.

Smith-Njigba might have the most betting value within the NFL Offensive Player of the Year Odds, before the larger national media catches on; make sure you sign up for multiple sports betting accounts so you can grab JSN while he’s still available at a bargain price.
