Dealt to Atlanta
Bummer was traded from the White Sox to Atlanta on Thursday in exchange for Michael Soroka (forearm), Jared Shuster, Nicky Lopez, Braden Shewmake and Riley Gowens.
ANALYSIS
Bummer was commonly used in high-leverage situations by the White Sox in 2023, as he managed 15 holds in 61 appearances. While he maintained only a 6.79 ERA and 1.53 WHIP, his 78:36 K:BB across 58.1 innings suggests there's plenty of upside in his profile. Bummer could emerge as one of Atlanta's top setup men for Raisel Iglesias in 2024.
Aug 19, 2023
Getting looks in high leverage
Bummer has recorded three holds in his last five appearances for the White Sox.
ANALYSIS
Bummer has had an up-and-down season, but the White Sox gutted their bullpen at the trade deadline. In turn, he's been asked to pitch in a higher-leverage role of late, and he's maintained a 1.09 WHIP with an 18:8 K:BB across 15.2 innings since the All-Star break. Gregory Santos is the team's preferred closer at this point, though Bummer could get a look if Santos stumbles in the role.

Scheduled to pitch Friday
Bummer (lat) is scheduled to appear in Friday's Cactus League game against the Athletics, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Bummer will be making his Cactus League debut against Oakland after missing the start of the year with soreness in his right lat. The right-hander isn't a lock to make the Opening Day roster because of how much time he'll have missed, but his stint on the injured list would likely be short if he isn't available for the beginning of the year. Bummer could be in line for save chances for the White Sox at some point in 2023 with no defined closer for Chicago to begin the campaign.
Mar 9, 2023
Throws first bullpen session
Bummer (lat) threw a bullpen session Thursday, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
It's the first time he's thrown off a mound since he went down with some left lat soreness in early February. The White Sox will wait to see how Bummer recovers Friday before deciding the next step. The team remains hopeful that Bummer will be ready for Opening Day, but he can't afford any missteps.

On track with shoulder/lat issue
White Sox manager Pedro Grifol said Wednesday that Bummer (shoulder/lat) is on track to be ready for Opening Day, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Bummer came down with some discomfort in his left shoulder/lat in early February and is behind the other relievers in White Sox camp, but there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of concern. "I think he's on pace. I haven't heard anything different," said Grifol. "He's feeling good ... the last time I spoke to our trainers, he's on pace." Bummer, 29, could get a share of saves this season on the South Side of Chicago given the uncertainty around Liam Hendriks following his Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma diagnosis in January.
Sep 18, 2022
Saves game in extra innings
Bummer picked up the save Saturday against the Tigers, allowing one run on one hit while striking out one and walking none over one inning.
ANALYSIS
Although Bummer gave up a run in the 11th inning of Saturday's contest, the White Sox had already given him two runs of wiggle room. Bummer was credited with the save, his second of the season. In five innings this month, the reliever has a blown save and two wins in addition to Saturday's save.
Sep 5, 2022
Reinstated from 60-day IL
Bummer (shoulder) was reinstated from the 60-day injured list Monday.
ANALYSIS
Bummer sustained a left lat strain in mid-June, but he's been throwing off a mound for several weeks and began a rehab assignment last week. The southpaw allowed two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out two in two innings over two rehab appearances and has now been cleared to rejoin Chicago's bullpen, where he should factor into some setup duties down the stretch.
Sep 2, 2022
Shifts to 60-day injured list
Bummer (shoulder) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Friday.
ANALYSIS
The move creates space for the White Sox to select Mark Payton's contract. It should have minimal impact on Bummer's return timeline, as he's eligible to return as soon as Saturday. He might not return quite that soon, but he shouldn't be out too much longer, as he began a rehab assignment Tuesday.
Aug 27, 2022
Nearing rehab assignment
Bummer (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Bummer has been throwing off a mound over the last several weeks and will now return to game action with the minor-league club. The southpaw expects to be at Charlotte for approximately a week, which would likely put him on track to rejoin the White Sox at some point during their road trip in Seattle that begins Sept. 5.
Aug 18, 2022
Steps back on mound
Bummer (shoulder) completed a 26-pitch bullpen session Thursday, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The side session was Bummer's second since he was placed on the injured list June 12 with a left lat strain, but he incorporated his full arsenal Thursday for the first time. Bummer will still require another bullpen game and a simulated game or two as he works to build up his velocity, but if he remains free of setbacks during the ramp-up process, he could be ready to embark on a minor-league rehab assignment before the end of August. Before landing on the IL, the lefty reliever posted a 3.06 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 21:9 K:BB in 17.2 innings while collecting one save and nine holds.
Jul 7, 2022
Not yet throwing off mound
Manager Tony La Russa said Thursday that Bummer (shoulder) isn't yet throwing off a mound, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Bummer has been on the injured list since June 12 due to a left lat strain but has made slow progress in his recovery over the past month. He's unlikely to have a return timetable until he's able to progress in a throwing program.
Jun 21, 2022
Recovery moving slowly
Bummer (shoulder) has yet begin a throwing program, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
General manager Rick Hahn expanded upon Bummer's injury Monday, noting that the issue was in the tendon connecting his shoulder and lat. The left-hander continues to progress, but the team is playing his return cautiously to ensure the area is fully healed.
Jun 12, 2022
To IL with lat strain
Bummer was placed on the 15-day injured list Sunday with a left lat strain.
ANALYSIS
It had not negatively impacted his performance, as Bummer has a 10-inning scoreless streak going over his last 12 appearances. Tanner Banks was recalled to take his place in the bullpen.
May 22, 2022
Activated from injured list
Bummer (knee) was activated from the 15-day injured list and will serve as the 27th man for Sunday's doubleheader against the Yankees.
ANALYSIS
Bummer has been sidelined the last couple weeks by a right knee strain, but he'll rejoin the active roster without requiring a minor-league rehab assignment. The 28-year-old is likely to remain on the big-league roster beyond Sunday, so the White Sox will need to send down another player after the twin bill.
May 21, 2022
Expected back Sunday
Bummer (knee) is expected to return from the injured list when first eligible Sunday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Bummer has been out with a sore knee since early May, but it looks as though he won't need more than a minimum-length absence. He wasn't at his best prior to the injury, posting a 4.91 ERA over 11 innings, but he recorded a 2.63 ERA over the previous three seasons and should be one of the White Sox's top bullpen options going forward if he can get back to that level.
May 14, 2022
Throwing but not running
Bummer (knee) has thrown a bullpen session but has yet to resume sprinting, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Bummer has been on the injured list with a strained right knee since Monday. The fact that he's been able to throw is undoubtedly a good sign, but whether or not he'll be back when first eligible remains to be seen.
May 9, 2022
Anticipates short stay
Bummer (knee) believes he can return from the injured list in the minimum 15 days, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Bummer will be eligible to return May 22 and seemingly has a chance to do so, but it's unclear whether his optimism is shared by the White Sox organization. He wasn't at his best prior to the injury, as he struggled to a 4.91 ERA and 1.73 WHIP in 11 innings.
May 9, 2022
Hits injured list as expected
Bummer (knee) was placed on the 15-day injured list as expected Monday.
ANALYSIS
Bummer hadn't pitched since Friday, so the transaction can be backdated two days, leaving him eligible to return May 22. It's not entirely clear whether or not he'll be able to do so, especially with the White Sox now referring to his injury as a strain rather than merely soreness. Joe Kelly (biceps) returned from the injured list to take his place in the bullpen.
May 8, 2022
Ticketed for IL with sore knee
White Sox manager Tony La Russa said after Sunday's 3-2 win over the Red Sox that Bummer is slated to land on the injured list with a sore knee, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Bummer presumably picked up the injury during his most recent relief appearance Friday, when he tossed a scoreless inning en route to notching his seventh hold of the season. The White Sox will likely make the transaction official prior to Monday's series opener with the Guardians.
Apr 29, 2022
Records loss in extra innings
Bummer (0-1) recorded the loss, allowing a hit, three runs and two walks with two strikeouts over 1.2 innings in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Royals.
ANALYSIS
Although Liam Hendricks (back) is the team's incumbent closer, Bummer is next in line, although his four holds indicate his utility as a set-up man. If Hendricks' back injury lingers, Bummer should continue to show up in save situations, although his overall fantasy value in Chicago's bullpen is somewhat limited.
Apr 9, 2022
Secures save Saturday
Bummer tossed a scoreless ninth inning, allowing two hits and striking out three on the way to a save in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Tigers.
ANALYSIS
With Liam Hendriks unavailable after blowing the save in Thursday's loss to the Tigers, the left-hander was called upon to get the save Saturday.Bummer allowed back-to-back singles to Miguel Cabrera and Jonathan Schoop to open the bottom of the ninth inning, but he was able to dance out of trouble and strikeout the next three batters he faced to end the game and pick up the save. The 28-year-old has been shakey to open the 2022 season, allowing two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out five batters in 1.2 innings.
Oct 8, 2021
Charged with Game 2 loss
Bummer (0-1) allowed three runs on three hits and no walks while striking out one in a third of an inning to take the loss against the Astros in Game 2 of the ALDS on Friday.
ANALYSIS
Bummer entered Friday's postseason matchup to preserve a tie in the bottom of the seventh inning, but he gave up singles to three of the four batters he faced prior to his removal. The southpaw finished the regular season by tossing 11 scoreless innings across his final 13 appearances but was unable to generate the same success in Game 2.
Sep 15, 2021
Credited with win
Bummer (3-5) did not allow a hit or walk while striking out one over a scoreless seventh inning to pick up the win over the Angels on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Starter Lucas Giolito came off the injured list and was removed after 87 pitches and four innings with the White Sox leading 7-3. That left the door open for a reliever to pick up the win, but the official scorer bypassed two relievers to credit Bummer with the win. The two relievers prior to Bummer combined to allow five baserunners over two scoreless innings. Bummer has pitched well of late, giving up one run with no walks and seven strikeouts over the last six innings.
Aug 25, 2021
Takes fifth loss
Bummer (2-5) took the loss Wednesday versus Toronto. He allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits while striking out two in two-thirds of an inning.
ANALYSIS
Bummer fanned Marcus Semien and Vladimir Guerrero to open the eighth inning, but he allowed a run on three straight singles before Jose Ruiz relieved him. Ruiz then allowed an inherited runner to score after an error and a walk, but it was Bummer who took the loss. The southpaw has a 4.36 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 62:28 K:BB across 43.1 innings this year. He's added 16 holds, two saves and six blown saves in a high-leverage role, although he's now allowed runs in consecutive outings for the first time since late May.
Jul 17, 2021
Wild in return
Bummer allowed four runs on two hits, one walk and two wild pitches over two-thirds of an inning in Friday's 7-1 loss to the Astros.
ANALYSIS
Bummer, who was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Friday, had issues with control and needed 29 pitches without finishing the inning. On the plus side, he hit 96.3 mph.
Jul 16, 2021
Returns from injured list
Bummer (hamstring) was activated from the 10-day injured list Friday, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Bummer has been on the shelf since late June with a strained hamstring, but he'll rejoin the White Sox for the start of the second half. The left-hander has 10 holds and two saves with a 3.26 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 43:17 K:BB over 30.1 innings this season and should return to a high-leverage role for Chicago.
Jun 30, 2021
Placed on IL with hamstring strain
Bummer was placed on the injured list Wednesday with a strained right hamstring, retroactive to June 28.
ANALYSIS
It's not clear how or when Bummer injured his hamstring, but the left-hander last pitched Sunday against the Mariners. His move to the injured list is retroactive to Monday, leaving him eligible to come off the injured list July 8, though it's very possible that he'll need additional time to recover.
Jun 23, 2021
Shines in 10th hold
Bummer struck out two in 1.2 perfect innings, earning the hold in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Pirates.
ANALYSIS
The lefty has held opponents scoreless in six consecutive appearances and nine of his last ten. Bummer is one of the White Sox's most trusted late-inning relievers and will have opportunities to continue earning holds as long as the team continues winning.
Jun 12, 2021
Closes out Tigers
Bummer picked up his second save, walking one and striking out two over a scoreless 10th inning in Friday's 5-4 win over Detroit.
ANALYSIS
White Sox closer Liam Hendriks allowed a game-tying, two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth, setting up the need for a save opportunity in the 10th for Bummer.
Jun 10, 2021
Tough luck in loss
Bummer (0-4) allowed three runs on two hits, a walk and a wild pitch to pick up the loss against the Blue Jays on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Bummer entered a clean eighth inning after Lance Lynn cruised through seven innings of one-run ball. After getting the first out, Bummer struck out Riley Adams on a pitch in a dirt that got by catcher Yasmani Grandal. That was followed by an infield hit, a single and a botched double play, and the White Sox were down 4-2. The right-hander has allowed runs in six of his last nine outings, allowing 10 runs (nine earned) over 7.2 innings.
May 31, 2021
Notches first save
Bummer allowed one unearned run and issued a walk in one inning of work in Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader against Cleveland. He struck out one and earned the save.
ANALYSIS
Bummer came in with a three-run lead in the eighth inning and allowed the inherited runner on second to score on a double play. He earned his first save of the season after blowing his first four opportunities. The 27-year-old lowered his season ERA to 3.48 through 20.2 innings.
May 23, 2021
Charged with third loss
Bummer (0-3) allowed one run on three hits and a walk while striking out two in 1.1 innings to take the loss against the Yankees on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Bummer tossed a scoreless eighth inning Sunday and remained in the contest to preserve a tie game in the bottom of the ninth. However, the lefty loaded the bases with one out before he was replaced by Liam Hendriks, who walked in the winning run. Bummer has now been charged with losses in each of his last two outings, and he's posted a 3.06 ERA in 17.2 innings this year.
May 19, 2021
Loses lead, game
Bummer (0-2) was tagged with the loss to Minnesota on Wednesday. He allowed three runs on two hits and one walk while striking out two in one-plus innings.
ANALYSIS
Bummer came on in the eighth inning with Chicago holding a 4-2 lead and served up a two-run home run to Miguel Sano, the first homer he had allowed over his previous 36 appearances dating back to 2019. The left-hander came out to start the ninth and was removed after allowing a leadoff single to Andrelton Simmons, who came around to score the winning run with Liam Hendriks on the bump. Bummer entered the night having not been scored upon over his previous 10 innings, spanning nine outings.
May 10, 2021
Retires all five batters
Bummer struck out three over 1.2 scoreless innings in Sunday's 9-3 win over the Royals.
ANALYSIS
Bummer retired all five batters faced has sorted out the mechanical issues that bedeviled him early in the season. He's thrown six straight scoreless outings, spanning six innings, and hasn't walked a batter during that stretch. The setup man had opened the season with six walks over 5.1 innings (seven appearances).
May 2, 2021
Fighting mechanics
Bummer struck out two over a scoreless inning in Saturday's 7-3 win over Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
The White Sox's bullpen, projected as a strength entering the season, posted a 4.50 ERA and blew seven saves during April. Bummer was no exception to the struggles. He told Jared Wyllys of the Chicago Sun-Times that a drop off in his performance this season is due to a mechanical issue. Bummer's strikeouts are down and walks up thus far in 2021, but he still has a respectable 2.08 ERA over 8.2 innings.
Apr 2, 2021
Tagged with OD loss
Bummer (0-1) allowed two unearned runs on two hits and one walk while striking out one over two-thirds of an inning and was tagged with the Opening Day loss to the Angels.
ANALYSIS
Holding a one-run lead entering the eighth inning, the White Sox were set up for a season-opening win and the debut of new closer Liam Hendricks, but Bummer couldn't work around a couple of fielding miscues. On a fielder's choice, Nick Madrigal's throw to second base drew Tim Anderson off the bag, then a Yasmani Grandal passed ball advanced runners. A single, a walk and a sacrifice fly later, and Opening Day went from a delight to a bummer. Bummer's been stellar out of the bullpen for the White Sox the previous two seasons and has earned the role as a setup man.
Mar 12, 2021
Makes Cactus League debut
Bummer allowed two runs on one hit and two walks while striking out two in two-thirds of an inning in Thursday's spring game against the Reds.
ANALYSIS
This was Bummer's debut in Cactus League play. The left-hander has been a high-leverage contributor out of the bullpen, emerging as the team's primary setup man during a breakout 2019 campaign. A biceps injury limited him in 2020, but he returns as a setup option from the left side for closer Liam Hendriks.
Mar 8, 2021
Throws in B game
Bummer threw a perfect inning in a "B" game Sunday against the Dodgers, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Bummer faced opponents for the first time this spring in what turned out to be a bullpen day against the Dodgers. "I was happy to get out there and face their hitters, work on things, throw to Lucroy and get more familiar with him," Bummer said. "Overall a good day for the first time. Hopefully getting into a game soon." Bummer arrived to camp late after staying back for the birth of a child. That put him slightly behind others, but the left-hander has plenty of time to get ready for the regular season. He's expected to be the primary setup man for closer Liam Hendricks.
Feb 25, 2021
Arrives late to camp
Bummer arrived late to spring training but is not behind, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Bummer was his wife for the birth of their first child and missed the beginning of camp, but knowing his daughter's delivery date was scheduled near the start of camp, he went to Arizona during January and worked out a specific routine with the training staff. "Everything feels good. I feel pretty confident with where I'm at, that I'm not behind and I'm really right where I want to be," said the pitcher. Bummer, who had a biceps injury that limited him to nine games in 2020, is expected to serve as a top setup man in the White Sox's bullpen.
Sep 25, 2020
Scoreless in return
Bummer allowed a hit and struck out one over a scoreless eighth inning in Thursday's 5-4 loss to Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
Bummer was activated from the injured list earlier in the day and resume his role as the White Sox's eighth-inning bridge to closer Alex Colome. Unfortunately, two relievers conspired to give away Chicago's three-run lead in the seventh inning, and Bummer's appearance took on less significance.
Sep 24, 2020
Back from biceps injury
Bummer (biceps) was reinstated from the 45-day injured list prior to Thursday's game against Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
This is encouraging, as there were no guarantees Bummer would make it back this season. He last pitched in a game Aug. 7 and had an impressive 1.23 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 12:4 K:BB in 7.1 innings before suffering the injury. Look for him to quickly work his way back into the setup mix in advance of the postseason.
Sep 19, 2020
Looks good in throwing session
Bummer (biceps) threw 20 simulated pitches Saturday, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Manager Rick Renteria said that Bummer looked good during his throwing session in Cincinnati on Saturday. Assuming his biceps respond well, Bummer could make his return prior to the end of the regular season as the White Sox gear up for a playoff run.
Sep 11, 2020
Could return next weekend
Bummber (biceps) could be activated off the injured list during the White Sox's final road trip of the season, which begins Sept. 18 in Cincinnati, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The left-hander has been on the shelf since early August due to the left biceps strain and subsequent nerve issue, but he appears to be closing in on a return. Bummer allowed only one run with a 12:4 K:BB over 7.1 innings to begin the season and had a 2.13 ERA and 0.99 WHIP with 27 holds in 2019, so he could provide a significant boost to the bullpen for the closing stretch.
Sep 5, 2020
Transferred to 45-day IL
Bummer (biceps) was transferred to the 45-day injured list Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Bummer will shift to the 45-day IL to clear a spot on the 40-man roster as he deals with a nerve issue near his biceps. The southpaw could still return prior to the end of the season, but his status depends on how his nerve issue responds to his throwing program.
Sep 1, 2020
Has nerve issue
Bummer's biceps muscle has healed, but he's now dealing with a nerve issue near the biceps, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
White Sox general manager Rick Hahn explained that this is not a long-term issue but acknowledged the possibility that Bummer may not return in the shortened 2020 season. "It really comes down to getting that nerve calmed down and then as we ramp him up, which we have started to do on a throwing program, how the nerve responds. It's quite possible, based on how the throwing program lays out, that you see us at some point put him on the 45-day IL," said Hahn. With Bummer sidelined, Evan Marshall has picked up a majority of the setup work in front of closer Alex Colome.
Aug 29, 2020
Playing catch
Bummer has progressed to playing catch at the team's alternate training site, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Bummer has been on the injured list since Aug. 8 with left biceps soreness so the report that he is starting to throw is very encouraging in terms of his rehab progress. There is still no timeline for his official return and one likely won't be set until he starts throwing off a mound.
Aug 12, 2020
Not throwing yet
White Sox manager Rick Renteria said Tuesday that Bummer's biceps is "loosening up," but the lefty has yet to begin a throwing program, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The White Sox have been encouraged with how Bummer has bounced back from the left biceps strain after landing on the 10-day injured list Saturday, but a target date for his return probably won't be established until he's cleared to resume mound work. Before getting shut down with the injury, Bummer had served as Chicago's top setup man, giving up one earned run on four hits and four walks over 7.1 innings while striking out 12 and collecting three holds.
Aug 8, 2020
Placed on 10-day injured list
Bummer (biceps) was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Bummer was removed from Friday's win against Cleveland after throwing 30 pitches and will miss several games as a result of a left biceps strain. The southpaw had been dominant out of the bullpen for the White Sox to begin the season, recording a 1.23 ERA and 12:4 K:BB over 7.1 innings across seven appearances. Evan Marshall and Steve Cishek could see an uptick in higher-leverage opportunities while Bummer is sidelined.
Aug 7, 2020
Dealing with left biceps soreness
Bummer was diagnosed with left biceps soreness following his removal from Friday's game.
ANALYSIS
Bummer is set to be re-evaluated by the White Sox on Saturday, after which the team could get a better idea of the severity of the issue. The southpaw pitched 1.2 scoreless innings Friday prior to his removal, allowing one hit and two walks while failing to record a strikeout.
Aug 7, 2020
Exits with apparent injury
Bummer was removed from Friday's game with an apparent injury, Scot Gregor of the Chicago Daily Herald reports.
ANALYSIS
Bummer entered in the sixth inning of Friday's contest and threw 30 pitches over 1.2 innings, but he was examined by the training staff and removed from the game. The nature and severity of the injury are unclear.
Jul 30, 2020
Picks up first win
Bummer (1-0) struck out two over a scoreless eighth inning and was credited with the win in a 4-0 win over Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
Bummer was the pitcher of record when the White Sox plated four runs in the top of the ninth inning. The left-hander was one-fourth of the White Sox's best-pitched game of the season. No. 1 starter Lucas Giolito gave them six strong innings followed by Evan Marshall, Bummer and Alex Colome. Bummer earned his role as a setup man in 2019 when he posted a 2.13 ERA over 67.2 innings.
Mar 20, 2020
Nails down bullpen spot
Bummer is considered a lock to make the White Sox's bullpen, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Bummer is the poster child for spring-training stats don't matter. After surrendering nine runs and 11 hits in six spring innings during the 2019 Cactus League, he became the White Sox's most reliable reliever in the regular season. He claimed the setup role from Kelvin Herrera and earned 27 holds while posting a 2.13 ERA. The White Sox were so impressed, they re-signed the left-hander to a five-year deal in February. Bummer from the left and Steve Cishek from the right give opposing batters different looks in the late innings.
Feb 22, 2020
Lands extension with White Sox
Bummer signed a five year, $16 million contract extension with the White Sox on Saturday, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Bummer was effective in 2019 while serving as the set-up man for the White Sox as he recorded a 2.13 ERA and 0.99 WHIP over 67.2 innings. While the southpaw's fantasy impact could be limited behind closer Alex Colome and newly-acquired Steve Cishek, Bummer will look to build on his impressive campaign in 2020.
