Heads back to bullpen
Soriano struck out six and allowed two hits and three walks over 3.2 scoreless innings out of the bullpen in Friday's 9-4 loss to the Yankees.
ANALYSIS
Soriano made a three-inning start in his prior appearance Aug. 5 in Texas, but he ended up moving back to the bullpen with the Marlins calling up Eury Perez from Double-A Pensacola to fill out the No. 5 spot in the rotation. Because starter Jesus Luzardo was roughed up for seven runs in 3.1 innings before departing the contest, Soriano ended up making an extended mop-up appearance to help save the rest of the Miami bullpen. The 24-year-old right-hander is expected to continue serving in a multi-inning relief role, though he's pitched well enough this season to garner consideration for higher-leverage spots.

Hits wall in first start
Soriano did not factor into the decision Saturday in the Marlins' 9-8 loss to the Rangers, giving up three runs on three hits and three walks over three-plus innings. He struck out four.
ANALYSIS
Making his first career start in the majors, Soriano blanked Texas for three innings before Robbie Grossman crushed a three-run homer to right field in the fourth to chase the rookie right-hander from the game. Soriano was likely due to get lifted even if he had escaped that jam however, as his 59 pitches on the afternoon (36 strikes) was just two short of his season high. Ryan Weathers wound up working 95 pitches in relief, and it's not clear which of the two will fill the fifth starter spot for the Marlins next time around, or if they will work as a tandem. Soriano has the better numbers on the season with a 2.67 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 30:13 K:BB through 30.1 innings.

Starting Saturday
Soriano will take the ball to start Saturday's game against the Rangers, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
ANALYSIS
Soriano has been excellent in 11 appearances out of the Miami bullpen this season, posting a 1.98 ERA and 1.10 WHIP over 27.1 innings, and he will be rewarded with his first career start in the big leagues. The 24-year-old has thrown as many as four innings in an appearance this season and will be well rested, but it's a stretch to think he could pitch deep enough into Saturday's game to qualify for a win.

Recalled from Triple-A
Soriano was recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
ANALYSIS
Soriano will replace Andrew Nardi (triceps) in the Marlins' bullpen ahead of Tuesday's game against the Cardinals. Soriano, 24, has registered a 1.98 ERA and 9:5 K:BB in 13.2 major-league innings this year.

Returns to Triple-A
The Marlins optioned Soriano to Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
After tossing 3.2 scoreless innings of long relief in Saturday's 7-0 loss to Atlanta, Soriano will be rewarded with a demotion to the minors. The move back to Triple-A is less about the Marlins' dissatisfaction with Soriano's performance than it is a desire for the big club to add a fresh arm to the bullpen for Sunday's series finale with Atlanta. The Marlins called up right-hander Jeff Lindgren from Jacksonville to replace Soriano in the bullpen and on the 26-man active roster.

Back in big leagues
Soriano was recalled by the Marlins on Saturday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
ANALYSIS
Soriano is now on his third stint with the big-league club this season. During his previous time with the team, he recorded a 2.70 ERA in 10.0 innings despite a modest 6:4 K:BB. Archie Bradley was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

Optioned to Jacksonville
The Marlins optioned Soriano to Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
ANALYSIS
Just four days after being promoted, Soriano will return to Triple-A. The 24-year-old reliver made one appearance in his latest stint -- a three-inning, 61-pitch performance in which he gave up one run on four hits and two walks while striking out three. A.J. Puk (elbow) will return from the injured list as Soriano's replacement.

Goes three innings, nabs first save
Soriano picked up the save Saturday against the Athletics. He allowed one run on four hits and two walks while striking out three over 3 innings.
ANALYSIS
Soriano was called upon for three innings of work after being promoted from Jacksonville on Friday, entering the game in the seventh inning with nine runs of cushion and closing out the rout to earn his first career save. After making three appearances (7.0 innings) in April as a middle reliever and posting a 2.57 ERA, the 24-year-old could receive an extended look with Matt Barnes (hip) on the 15-day injured list.

Returns to big leagues
Soriano was recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
ANALYSIS
Soriano has pitched well during his brief time in the majors this season, allowing three runs (two earned) over seven innings. He did some starting in the minors, so he could provide the bullpen with a little length.

Optioned to Triple-A
Soriano was optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville by the Marlins on Monday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
He's a victim of the Marlins needed a bullpen reinforcement, as he wasn't going to be available for a bit after throwing 47 pitches Sunday in Cleveland. Soriano pitched well in his first taste of the majors, though, so he should be back.

On cusp of MLB debut
The Marlins recalled Soriano from Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Soriano, who was added to the Marlins' 40-man roster over the winter, will join the MLB club for the first time in his young career, replacing the injured J.T. Chargois (oblique) in the bullpen. The 24-year-old right-hander could be available as a multi-inning option after compiling a 2.72 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 85:40 K:BB across 76 frames between Jacksonville and Double-A Pensacola in 2022.

Optioned to Triple-A
Soriano was optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville by the Marlins on Tuesday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
ANALYSIS
Soriano was knocked around during his two relief appearances this spring, but he seems to have found a home in the bullpen after moving there midseason in 2022. He should push to debut in 2023.
