Aranda went 2-for-6 with a grand slam, a double and six RBI in Sunday's 12-8 win over the Blue Jays.

Aranda kicked things off with an RBI-single in the first and followed up with a grand slam off Wes Parsons in the second. He added an RBI-double later on for his sixth run driven in of the day. Aranda only had seven RBI and one home run through 33 games coming into Sunday and finishes the year slashing .230/.340/.368. Overall, the 25-year-old struggled at the plate in limited action, but it was certainly encouraging to see him end the regular season on a high note as he looks to help the Rays make a postseason run.

Aranda went 3-for-4 with a double, one RBI and one run scored in Tuesday's victory over the Red Sox.

It was an encouraging performance from Aranda, who began the day in a 2-for-28 (.071) slump with no extra-base hits in that span. The 25-year-old infielder is now slashing .211/.330/.316 with just one homer, 12 runs scored and seven RBI through 91 plate appearances on the campaign. While he won't offer much offensively, Aranda should see fairly regular at-bats against right-handed pitching with Brandon Lowe (knee) out.

Aranda got the scoring started in the second inning Tuesday after Wilyer Abreu lost a flyball in the Tropicana Field catwalks, resulting in an RBI triple. The 25-year-old Aranda, who got the start at DH, would reach base three more times via walks in the contest, scoring a pair of runs. Aranda's playing time's been sparse since he was called up on Aug. 15. He's gone 5-for-22 (.227) with one home run in that span. He did post eye-popping numbers in the minors, however, batting .339 with 25 homers and a 1.063 OPS across 95 Triple-A games.

Aranda went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two walks Saturday across both games of a doubleheader against the Angels.

Aranda started at first base in the matinee and slugged a 430-foot solo shot in the sixth inning for his first major-league long ball of the campaign. He came off the bench in the nightcap and added a walk over two plate appearances. Aranda has gotten into just six big-league games this season, going 4-for-18 with three RBI. He's pounded minor-league pitching, though, slashing .339/.449/.613 with 25 homers and 81 RBI over 434 plate appearances at Triple-A Durham.

Aranda has played in just four games across his two stints in the majors this season, going 3-for-15 with a double, two RBI and two runs. Manuel Margot (elbow) was placed on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move.

Aranda will return to Durham after getting called up Thursday, going 2-for-7 with a run scored while appearing in the first two games of the Rays' series with Kansas City. With Yandy Diaz returning from the paternity list Monday, Tampa Bay no longer needed Aranda on the big-league roster.

Aranda was just optioned Tuesday but is already back on the roster with Yandy Diaz going on paternity leave. The 25-year-old could get a start or two at first base while Diaz is away. Aranda is 1-for-8 at the plate during his brief time in the majors this season and has a 1.044 OPS this year at Durham.

With Opening Day right around the corner Thursday, Aranda is one of the final major-league roster cut-downs for the Rays this spring. The 24-year-old batted .192 with one homer, five RBI and two runs scored over 26 at-bats during spring training, failing to impress enough to crack the big-league roster. Considering his positional flexibility and his prior experience in the MLB from last season, Aranda seems like a top candidate to earn a call-up early this year.

Aranda has three extra-base hits and three walks across 17 plate appearances in Grapefruit League action.

Aranda is in competition for a bench spot on the Rays' Opening Day roster, and he's made the case with his performance this spring. In addition to a .924 OPS, he's struck out only four times. Aranda struggled in limited playing time during his MLB debut in 2022, posting a .192/.276/.321 line across 87 plate appearances.

Aranda is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Guardians, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Aranda will sit in favor of Taylor Walls for the second game in a row. While Aranda has a strong track record as a hitter in the minors, his defense is below average, so he needs to be hitting to justify getting at-bats. He is slashing .100/.273/.259 over the last 10 games.

Aranda is not in Sunday's lineup against the Blue Jays.

Aranda has been playing regularly over the last week, hitting .125 with a .276 OBP and one home run in 24 at-bats over that stretch. Taylor Walls is starting at second base and hitting ninth.

The promising rookie is hitting a solid .278 with two homers and six RBI through 22 games this season, while also drawing six walks.

Aranda is not in Friday's lineup against the Rangers.

Aranda's strong hit tool has translated well in the majors, but his defensive shortcomings have also been apparent. He is hitting .316/.409/.579 with one home run, five strikeouts and three walks in 19 at-bats this month. Taylor Walls is starting at second base while Christian Bethancourt starts at first base.

Aranda started the last four games and went 4-for-13 with a homer, two runs, two RBI, a walk and five strikeouts. He'll get a breather while Isaac Paredes takes over at the keystone and bats eighth.

Aranda went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader split with the Blue Jays.

He took Alek Manoah deep in the seventh inning for his first career big-league homer, briefly giving the Rays a 2-1 lead before the bullpen imploded in the bottom of the frame on the way to a 7-2 loss. Aranda has started four straight games, getting the nod at first base in the matinee and going 1-for-4 before sliding over to second base for the nightcap, and with Brandon Lowe (back) on the IL once again, the 24-year-old could see a significant role in the short term. Aranda has hit safely in six straight appearances, and since rejoining the big-league roster in September he's batting .353 (6-for-17) with two doubles and Tuesday's homer.

Aranda will start at second base and bat seventh in Monday's game at Toronto, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Rays manager Kevin Cash suggested over the weekend that Aranda might pick up more playing time, and the skipper will stay true to his word while the rookie receives his second start in a row. In a limited sample of 26 plate appearances in the majors this season, Aranda has produced a .462 on-base percentage. He'll need to continue to rack up walks and make contact at a high clip to ensure he maintains steady at-bats.

Aranda, 24, is one of Tampa Bay's best hitting prospects, having amassed a .319/.394/.521 slash line this year at Triple-A. He has 20-plus starts at first base, second base and third base, while also getting a handful of starts at designated hitter and in left field. With Brandon Lowe and Isaac Paredes banged up, Aranda may be able to get a few starts per week down the stretch.

The 24-year-old's first stint in the big leagues lasted only five days, with Aranda appeared in two games over that stretch and going 2-for-3 with an RBI. Though Aranda doesn't have much left to prove in the minors, the Rays want him to play on an everyday basis, and that opportunity won't be afforded to him in Tampa Bay after shortstop Wander Franco (quadriceps) was cleared to return from the 10-day injured list Sunday.

Aranda is starting at second base and will bat seventh in Friday's contest versus the Pirates, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Aranda is set to make his major-league debut Friday after being called up Tuesday. The 24-year-old will likely work in a reserve role for the time being, but due to his positional versatility, he'll likely crack the lineup relatively often. He'll look to build upon the .310 average with 11 homers, 40 RBI, 45 runs and three stolen bases he produced over 63 games with Triple-A Durham this season.

Aranda joins the 26-man active roster as a replacement for outfielder Manuel Margot (knee), who was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday along with fellow outfielder Kevin Kiermaier (hip). Since he had seen work at three infield spots (third base, second base and first base) this season, Aranda won't be a candidate to directly replace either Kiermaier or Margot in the Rays' regular lineup, but the versatile Vidal Brujan could begin seeing more work in the outfield to facilitate playing time for Aranda. The 24-year-old slashed .310/.386/.512 with 11 home runs and three stolen bases in 280 plate appearances for Durham prior to receiving his first big-league call-up.

Aranda is batting .326/.404/.521 with nine homers, three steals and a 26:49 BB:K through 57 games for Triple-A Durham.

With Brandon Lowe hurt and Vidal Brujan struggling at the dish, it's a little surprising Aranda hasn't gotten the call to Tampa yet. All he's done in Triple-A is essentially replicate his fine work in Double-A from last season (.325/.410/.540). Of course, his defense is not great and probably never will be, which may be all the difference for the Rays, but at least Aranda offers some versatility by virtue of his experience -- he's played first, second and third this year, and left field previously. As an excellent hitter with no clear position, he's an obvious fit for the DH slot.

Aranda was added to the 40-man roster in the offseason after racking up 322 plate appearances at Double-A Montgomery in 2021. He experienced plenty of success there, delivering a .325/.410/.540 line with 10 home runs and three stolen bases. Aranda could begin the season at Triple-A, though it's unclear where he'd fit on the big-league roster without injuries at any point in 2022.
