One of those was a solo shot to center field in the second inning that temporarily put the Rays up 2-0. Lowe Kristie Ackert of the Tampa Bay Times for Sunday's game against San Diego, Kristie Ackert of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Lowe's .281/.329/.512 season slash line represents a very encouraging step forward, as do his 11 homers and 17 steals. It hasn't made him immune to Tampa Bay's policy of heavy rotation, however, so he'll hit the bench after falling into a 1-for-16 slump over his last six games. Manuel Margot will take over in right field.

Lowe went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in Friday's 6-5 loss to the Yankees.
ANALYSIS

Sits against righty in finale
Lowe is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
While he's upholding a robust .989 OPS on the season while also contributing on the basepaths (five steals in six attempts), the lefty-hitting Lowe should play against right-handers more often than not, though he'll occasionally be the odd man out of the lineup due to the Rays' logjam in the outfield and at designated hitter. He'll find himself on the bench Sunday while the Rays deploy Harold Ramirez at DH and roll out an outfield of Randy Arozarena, Jose Siri and Manuel Margot from left to right against Yankees ace Gerrit Cole.
May 2, 2023
Sitting out Tuesday
Lowe is absent from the Rays' lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Pirates, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

ANALYSIS
Lowe managed to go hitless for just the second time over his last 12 games but still found ways to make an impact after walking to lead off the eighth and ninth innings and coming around to score on both occasions. The 25-year-old failed to deliver to the hype around him a season ago, but seems to have figured things out in the early going, slashing .342/.398/.632 with five homers, 18 RBI, 17 runs, five steals and a 7:17 BB:K over 83 plate appearances.

Apr 26, 2023
Sitting versus righty
Lowe is not in the Rays' lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Astros.

The knock also extended his hitting streak to six games, during which he's hit .409 with two homers, nine RBI and six runs scored. Lowe has also been active on the basepaths, as his stolen base in the fifth inning was his fourth of the season. He appears to be in the midst of a breakout, as he currently has a 228 wRC+ and .492 wOBA with a 16.4 percent strikeout rate across his first 55 plate appearances of the campaign.
Apr 16, 2023

Apr 15, 2023

Lowe went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Friday against the Blue Jays.
ANALYSIS
Lowe took Yimi Garcia deep to straightaway center field to tally his third homer of the season. He's limited to a large-side platoon role but has been in the lineup eight of nine times the Rays have faced a right-handed pitcher. Lowe has earned that playing time, as he's tallied four multi-hit performances and also has seven RBI, seven runs scored and one stolen base through 36 plate appearances.
Apr 12, 2023
Idle versus lefty
Lowe is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Red Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
ANALYSIS
After going 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a stolen base in Tuesday's 7-2 win, the lefty-hitting Lowe will take a seat while southpaw Chris Sale takes the hill for Boston. Apr 12, 2023
Flashes skills in win
Lowe went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a second run scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's 7-2 win over the Red Sox.
ANALYSIS
The 25-year-old launched his second homer of the year off Caleb Ort in the seventh inning, while his second-inning steal was his first of the season. Lowe has started three of four games since Jose Siri (hamstring) was injured, and he's making a strong case for consistent playing time even after the Rays' outfield is fully healthy, batting .385 (10-for-26) with four doubles, five runs and six RBI in seven games.
Apr 10, 2023
Sitting against righty
Lowe is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Red Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
ANALYSIS
For the first time all season, the lefty-hitting Lowe will take a seat versus a right-handed starting pitcher (Nick Pivetta). While Jose Siri (hamstring) is on the 10-day injured list and the rest of Tampa Bay's regulars are available, Lowe looks like he'll have to battle the likes of Harold Ramirez and Luke Raley for one spot in the lineup against righties. Ramirez will serve as Tampa Bay's designated hitter Monday, while Raley gets the nod in right field.
Apr 10, 2023
Drives in pair
Lowe went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double and two RBI on Sunday against the Athletics.
ANALYSIS
Lowe drew a two-out walk with the bases loaded in the sixth inning, and he followed that up with an RBI single two frames later. He has been a key part of the Rays' lineup early on this season, starting in four of five games against right-handed pitching. Lowe has delivered with that opportunity by collecting eight hits in 24 plate appearances while most importantly striking out only three times in that span.

Seeing steady time versus righties
Lowe is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Lowe has started in just three of the Rays' first six games, but each of those starts have come against right-handed pitchers, while each of his absences have come versus lefties. It's not yet clear whether Lowe is truly viewed as a strong-side platoon player, but his usage thus far has been encouraging. He's helped his case for continuing to see regular playing time versus righties by getting off to a 6-for-14 start to the season while collecting four extra-base hits (one home run, three doubles).

Swats first 2023 homer
Lowe went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 10-6 win over the Nationals.
ANALYSIS
Getting the start at DH and hitting sixth, Lowe's ninth-inning homer off Nats closer Kyle Finnegan put the Rays in the lead for good, although they tacked on three more runs in the frame before they were done. The blast was Lowe's first of the season but he's looked good at the plate in the early going, batting .429 (6-for-14) with three doubles through four games. The 25-year-old disappointed last year in his first full look at big-league pitching, but he could prove to be a classic post-hype sleeper in 2023.

Delivers in season debut
Lowe went 2-for-4 with two doubles, a walk, two RBI and a run scored Saturday against the Tigers.
ANALYSIS
Lowe made his first start of the season while playing right field and hitting eighth. He hit a double in each of the second and third innings, the latter of which drove in two. While his production was positive, Lowe also struck out twice to continue a troubling trend of an inability to make consistent contact. So long as Manuel Margot and Harold Ramirez remain healthy, Lowe may find it hard to earn consistent playing time.

Makes Opening Day roster
Lowe has made the Rays' Opening Day roster, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
ANALYSIS
That's the way it was headed and manager Kevin Cash confirmed Lowe's inclusion on the roster Monday. Lowe might not have a set starting job, but he should see plenty of action between all three outfield spots and designated hitter. The 25-year-old has struggled in the majors to this point, but there's some post-hype sleeper appeal here if he can make enough contact.
Mar 26, 2023
Likely to make roster
Lowe is likely to make the Rays' roster as a bench outfielder, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Lowe is in competition with the likes of Jonathan Aranda, Vidal Brujan and Luke Raley for a bench spot, though he's helped his cause by slugging three homers and a double across 43 plate appearances this spring. He's still struggled to make consistent contact, striking out 12 times in that same span. The Rays have yet to make an official announcement as to Lowe's status, so his place on the roster is not certain.

Putting together good at-bats
Lowe went 1-for-2 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base Friday against the Blue Jays.
ANALYSIS
Per Kristie Ackert of the Tampa Bay Times, Lowe had a few impressive at-bats and saw a total of 22 pitchers in his three plate appearances. He led off the game with a single, stole second base and ultimately came around to score to account for the majority of his production. Through 10 at-bats this spring, Lowe has three hits, including a home run and a double.
Feb 25, 2023
Set for lots of reps
Lowe went 1-for-2 with a double in Saturday's Grapefruit League game against the Twins.
ANALYSIS
Lowe started in left field and led off the team's first spring training game, and he began the contest with a double that went 101.4 mph off the bat. Prior to the game, Rays manager Kevin Cash noted that Lowe will get a lot of at-bats during spring training as the team seeks to evaluate his adjustment to big-league pitching, per Dawn Klemish of MLB.com. Lowe was a touted prospect entering the 2022 campaign, though he struck out at a 33.3 percent clip across 198 appearances with the Rays last season.
Sep 22, 2022
Raking, whiffing in Triple-A
Lowe is hitting .310/.399/.538 with 12 homers, 21 steals and a 32.5 percent strikeout rate through 74 games with Triple-A Durham.
ANALYSIS
He's been drawing a good amount of walks (12.9 percent), but Lowe continues to strike out at a horrendous pace. The last couple weeks are particularly illustrative of Lowe's ways, as he's hit .367 with a 1.078 OPS and eight steals over 13 games (49 plate appearances), and yet he's struck out 23 times in that span (a 39.7 percent clip). As impressive as Lowe's production has been in Triple-A over the last two seasons, his swing-and-miss tendencies continue to damage his potential of developing into an everyday major-league outfielder. The 20-20 upside is tantalizing, but we've seen other players with similar profiles fail to realize it before.

Headed back to Durham
Tampa Bay optioned Lowe to Triple-A Durham on Sunday, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
With Tampa Bay needed to clear room on the 26-man active roster and in the outfield for new trade acquisition David Peralta, Lowe and Luke Raley -- both of whom have minor-league options remaining -- were the most likely candidates to head back to the minors. The Rays ultimately elected to keep Raley with the big club over Lowe, who slashed .239/.299/.342 with a home run, two stolen bases, 15 runs and seven RBI in 33 games since his June 20 promotion from Triple-A Durham. Lowe will end his stint with the big club with an active seven-game hitting streak, but he had still struck out at an elevated 30.7 percent clip during his latest run with the Rays.
Jul 26, 2022
Not starting Tuesday
Lowe is on the bench for Tuesday's game against the Orioles, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Lowe has hit .232 with seven doubles in 69 at-bats this month. Roman Quinn will start in center field Tuesday.
Jul 12, 2022
Heads to bench against lefty
Lowe is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Red Sox, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Though Lowe will head to the bench after a seven-game stint in the starting lineup during which he supplied a modest .660 OPS, he still appears to have a fairly clear runway to a near-everyday role in the outfield while Kevin Kiermaier (hip) is out indefinitely. Rays manager Kevin Cash likely viewed Tuesday as a good opportunity to give the lefty-hitting Lowe a day off with a tough southpaw (Chris Sale) on the mound for Boston.
Jul 11, 2022
Tallies second homer
Lowe went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored Sunday against the Reds.
ANALYSIS
Lowe took Joel Kuhnel yard in the eighth inning to tally his second home run of the season. He has lowered his strikeout rate to 13.9 percent while tallying four extra-base hits across his last nine starts and 36 plate appearances. Lowe has also been in the Rays' lineup for each of the last six games and should have a more secure role with Kevin Kiermaier (hip) sidelined.
Jul 7, 2022
Smacks two doubles
Lowe went 2-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored Wednesday against the Red Sox.
ANALYSIS
In an apparent effort to get Lowe going at the plate, the Rays shifted him to the leadoff spot Wednesday. He responded with his second multi-hit effort across 14 starts since being recalled June 20. Lowe has struggled to a .170 average and a 29.1 percent strikeout rate across 55 plate appearances in that span, though he remains a regular in the lineup.
Jul 3, 2022
Losing work to Harold Ramirez
Lowe is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
ANALYSIS
The lefty-hitting Lowe is on the bench for a second straight game against a right-handed starting pitcher (Ross Stripling), after he was excluded from the lineup for the second game of Saturday's twin bill when righty Thomas Hatch took the hill for Toronto. Prior to sitting out, Lowe had gone 2-for-11 over his previous three starts, which actually raised his season-long batting average to .179. The rookie looks as though he could be moving into more of a part-time role in favor of the righty-hitting Harold Ramirez, who is starting for the eighth game in a row.
Jul 2, 2022
Not starting Game 2
Lowe isn't starting the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Blue Jays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Lowe went 1-for-4 with a strikeout in the first game of the twin bill and will get a breather in the matinee. Randy Arozarena is shifting to left field while Harold Ramirez starts in right.
Jun 29, 2022
Hits bench Wednesday
Lowe is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
ANALYSIS
The rookie will take a seat for the first time since being called up from Triple-A Durham on June 20. While starting in each of the past seven games, Lowe went 5-for-28 with a double, a stolen base, three runs and an RBI while striking out 12 times. Top center fielder Kevin Kiermaier (hip) is expected to return from the 10-day injured list this weekend, and Lowe's lack of production in a full-time role thus far could put him in danger of being returned to the minors.
Jun 25, 2022
Swipes bag in Friday's win
Lowe went 1-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base in Friday's 4-3 extra-inning win over the Pirates.
ANALYSIS
The rookie also struck out three times, continuing the contact issues that originally got him demoted in early May. Lowe has gone 2-for-15 with seven Ks over four games since returning to the Rays' lineup, but with Kevin Kiermaier (hip) and Manuel Margot (knee) both out of action for Tampa Bay, the 24-year-old top prospect will be given a chance to figure things out in the majors.
Jun 21, 2022
Punches out twice in return
Lowe went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts and a walk Monday against the Yankees.
ANALYSIS
Lowe was recalled from Triple-A Durham on Monday and started in left field while hitting eighth. His trouble making contact -- regardless of level -- continued Tuesday and marked the eighth time in 20 big-league games that he struck out multiple times this season. However, with Manuel Margot (knee) and Kevin Kiermaier (hip) expected to land on the injured list, Lowe should get regular run in the Rays' outfield.
Jun 20, 2022
Promotion official
The Rays recalled Lowe from Triple-A Durham on Monday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
ANALYSIS
With Tampa Bay needing to pare down its pitching staff to 13 men ahead of Monday's MLB-imposed deadline, reliever Luke Bard will cede his spot on the 26-man active roster to Lowe. After breaking camp with the big club as a starting outfielder, Lowe was sent to Triple-A just three weeks later when he slashed .181/.250/.325 with a 38 percent strikeout rate over 71 plate appearances at Tampa Bay. The 24-year-old has since righted the ship at Triple-A with a .929 OPS at Durham, but he's still struck out in 31.2 percent of his 157 plate appearances. In spite of his high pedigree as a prospect, Lowe may still have to initially settle for fourth-outfielder duties behind Manuel Margot, Randy Arozarena and Kevin Kiermaier as he rejoins the big club.
Jun 19, 2022
Expected to rejoin Rays on Monday
Lowe is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Durham on Monday, Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lowe wasn't in the lineup for the Triple-A club Sunday, and he'll ultimately head to Tampa Bay to rejoin the Rays ahead of their series opener against the Yankees. The 24-year-old had a 38.0 percent strikeout rate over 19 games with the Rays to begin the year but has cut down to a 20.6 percent strikeout rate in the minors over 15 games since the start of June. In spite of his struggles in the big leagues early in the season, Lowe should see regular playing time once he's called up Monday.
Jun 14, 2022
Trimming whiffs recently
Lowe has struck out only twice in his last six games for Triple-A Durham -- a span in which he's hit .381, walked six times and stolen two bases.
ANALYSIS
He recently went four straight games without striking out -- the first time he's done that all season. Before that stretch, Lowe had struck out at least once in 26 of 27 games since his demotion to Triple-A. In June as a whole, Lowe has hit .300/.429/.475 with a homer, three steals and a 9:8 K:BB, so it certainly looks like he's turning the corner with his approach at the plate after struggling mightily to begin the year.
Jun 3, 2022
Producing despite strikeouts
Lowe hit .284/.337/.531 but struck out 35 times across 81 at-bats with Triple-A Durham in May.
ANALYSIS
Lowe struck out at a 38 percent clip in his first taste of the big leagues, and that mark has remained consistent with Durham. He's still managing to produce -- he has five home runs and two stolen bases across 99 plate appearances -- but his inability to make consistent contact could prevent him from getting another immediate chance with the Rays.
May 12, 2022
Striking out plentifully in minors
Lowe has homered in each of his last two games and three times overall for Triple-A Durham, but he's picked up only one other hit in seven games since being demoted while striking out 17 times in 28 plate appearances. He's hitting .188/.257/.344 for Durham.
ANALYSIS
Lowe was already whiffing way too much in the majors before his demotion, but this is a whole new level -- a 60.7 percent strikeout rate. The issue seems more like a problem with his approach or confidence than anything physical, so Lowe could be just an adjustment way from being the hitter who posted a .291/.381/.535 line for Durham last year. He's always going to strike out a lot, but Lowe is a much better hitter than he's shown this year. Fortunately, the Rays have the luxury of letting him work through it at Triple-A for as long as he needs.
May 1, 2022
Optioned to Triple-A
Lowe was optioned to Triple-A Durham on Sunday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Lowe didn't have a particularly hot start to the regular season, as he slashed just .181/.250/.325 with three homers, 13 runs, eight RBI and a stolen base. However, he still had regular playing time and is one of the Rays' top prospects, so it's surprising to see him sent down as part of a move to trim the major-league roster from 28 to 26 players by Monday. The 24-year-old will likely be back with the major-league club at some point as long as regains some production at the plate in Durham, but it's not yet clear when that could be. Harold Ramirez and Brett Phillips should see an uptick in playing time following Lowe's demotion.
Apr 30, 2022
Launches first career homer
Lowe went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Friday's 6-1 win over the Twins.
ANALYSIS
The rookie turned on a Dylan Bundy fastball at the top of the zone in the first inning, sending it over the fence in center field for his first homer in the majors. Lowe has had a tough start to his tenure in Tampa Bay, with his 36.5 percent strikeout rate being more than 10 points higher than his mark in Triple-A last year, but he's been making hard contact when he does get his bat on the ball and a hot streak could be coming.
Apr 27, 2022
Not starting Wednesday
Lowe isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Mariners.
ANALYSIS
Lowe has started against just two left-handed pitchers this year, and he'll take a seat with southpaw Marco Gonzales on the mound for Seattle. Randy Arozarena will start in left field while Harold Ramirez serves as the designated hitter.
Apr 24, 2022
Bows out of lineup
Lowe is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
ANALYSIS
He's one of three lefty-hitting regulars taking a seat for the series finale, with Ji-Man Choi and Brandon Lowe also joining Lowe on the bench. Randy Arozarena, who served as the Rays' designated hitter in Saturday's 3-2 win, will replace Lowe in left field Sunday.
Apr 18, 2022
Collects two hits, steals base
Lowe went 2-for-4 with a steal, one RBI and a run scored in Monday's 4-2 loss to the Cubs.
ANALYSIS
Lowe scored on Ji-Man Choi's fourth-inning single after he singled and swiped second base. He then drove in Brett Phillips with an RBI single of his own in the fifth. The rookie outfielder is now slashing .182/.289/.242 with five runs scored through 38 plate appearances.
Apr 16, 2022
On bench Saturday
Lowe isn't starting Saturday's game against the White Sox, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Lowe has gone just 1-for-14 with an RBI, two walks and eight strikeouts in his last four appearances, and he'll retreat to the bench for the second time in the last three games, even with righty Michael Kopech on the mound for the White Sox. Randy Arozarena will start in left field while Taylor Walls enters the lineup at shortstop.
Apr 14, 2022
Sits against lefty
Lowe is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Athletics, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
ANALYSIS
With southpaw Cole Irvin on the hill for Oakland, the righty-hitting Harold Ramirez will crack the starting nine as a replacement for the lefty-hitting Lowe. Over his first six games with Tampa Bay this season, Lowe has slashed .143/.308/.238 with three runs and an RBI across 26 plate appearances.
Apr 9, 2022
Walks twice in debut
Lowe went 0-for-2 with two walks in Friday's win over the Orioles.
ANALYSIS
Lowe was not originally slated to begin the season on the major-league roster, though that changed once the Rays dealt Austin Meadows to Detroit. Though he hit seventh in the order while making his debut, it appears that Lowe will have everyday playing time to begin the season as he was in the Opening Day lineup despite facing a left-handed pitcher. While it's not clear how Lowe's skillset will translate to the big leagues immediately, he has hit for power and stolen double-digit bases throughout his minor-league career.
Apr 8, 2022
Serving as designated hitter
Lowe will bat seventh and serve as the designated hitter in Friday's season opener against Baltimore, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
It's rare to see someone capable of playing center field stuck in a designated hitter role, but the Rays will roll with a trio of strong defensive outfielders in Randy Arozarena, Kevin Kiermaier and Manuel Margot for the first game of the year, leaving no room for Lowe. The fact that they want Lowe's bat in the lineup anyway, even against the left-handed John Means, is an encouraging hint at how he's viewed by the team. Lowe hit .291/.381/.535 with 22 homers and 26 steals in 111 games for Triple-A Durham last season and should be able to contribute across the board if he's given enough at-bats.
Apr 5, 2022
Officially added to roster
The Rays recalled Lowe from Triple-A Durham on Tuesday, making his addition to the Opening Day roster official.
ANALYSIS
One of the organization's top prospects, Lowe was originally optioned to Triple-A Durham on March 31 so he could continue to play on an everyday basis to begin the season, but an opportunity on the big-league roster reopened after Tampa Bay traded Austin Meadows to Detroit on Monday. Even with Meadows exiting the outfield and designated hitter picture, the Rays are still overflowing with quality options at either spot, which could result in the lefty-hitting Lowe settling for strong-side platoon work or perhaps even a part-time role. Even if he ends up sitting two or three times per week, Lowe should still receive enough starts to justify a roster spot in most 12-team mixed leagues. The 24-year-old put his excellent speed, plus power and strong plate skills on full display at Triple-A Durham in 2021, producing a .916 OPS while walking at a 13.2 percent clip and going 26-for-26 on stolen-base attempts.
Apr 4, 2022
Set to join MLB roster
Lowe will be called up by Tampa Bay and join the team beginning on Opening Day, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Lowe was optioned to Triple-A after he hit .190 with two RBI, a stolen base and six strikeouts in eight Grapefruit League games this spring. However, he will be recalled to the majors with the trade of Austin Meadows to Detroit. Lowe isn't likely to be called up if he isn't going to get significant playing time. Lowe is one of Tampa Bay's top prospect and has 20/20 potential with his combination of speed and power.
Mar 31, 2022
Optioned to Triple-A
Lowe was optioned to Triple-A Durham on Thursday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Lowe was competing for a depth role in Tampa Bay's outfield this spring, but he'll report to the minors to begin the year after he hit .190 with two RBI, a stolen base and six strikeouts in eight Grapefruit League games this spring. However, he'll likely be in consideration for a major-league roster spot at some point in 2022 as long as he performs well in Durham.
Sep 11, 2021
Back to Triple-A
Lowe was optioned to Triple-A Durham on Saturday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
ANALYSIS
With Randy Arozarena getting activated from the paternity list, Lowe predictably got sent back to the minors. Lowe had a single, a walk and a stolen base in two plate appearances while playing sparingly during his first cup of coffee in the majors.
Sep 8, 2021
Contributes in debut
Lowe went 1-for-1 with a walk and a stolen base in his big-league debut Wednesday against the Red Sox.
ANALYSIS
Lowe, who batted eighth and got the start in right field, walked and stole second in the third inning, then he pocketed his first career hit with an infield single in the fifth. He was removed for pinch-hitter Yandy Diaz prior to his next plate appearance. Lowe was recalled from Triple-A Durham earlier in the day after Randy Arozarena (personal) was placed on the paternity list, so it could be a brief stint with the big club if Lowe is once again the corresponding roster move upon Arozarena's return.
Sep 8, 2021
Batting eighth in debut
Lowe is starting Wednesday's game against the Red Sox, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Lowe was recalled from Triple-A Durham on Wednesday after Randy Arozarena (personal) was placed on the paternity list, and he'll make his major-league debut in right field. The 23-year-old isn't guaranteed a spot on the active roster once Arozarena returns, but he'll get a chance to make an impact at the top level in the near future.
Sep 8, 2021
Set for big-league debut
Lowe was promoted to the majors on Wednesday, although he may not be up for long, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
One of the best outfield prospects in the game, the 6-foot-4 lefty hitter has plus power, plus speed and plays excellent defense. He hit .282/.369/.540 with 21 home runs, 24 steals, a 26.7 percent strikeout rate and a 12.4 percent walk rate in 98 games for Triple-A Durham. While Lowe's skillset is very exciting for fantasy, his situation is not. The Rays already have Austin Meadows, Randy Arozarena, Kevin Kiermaier, Manuel Margot and Jordan Luplow as healthy outfield options while Nelson Cruz clogs the designated hitter spot. Passan's note that Lowe might not be up for long is not a guarantee, but it's hard to see how he would play more than a few times per week as things stand.
Aug 21, 2021
Homers in three straight
Lowe hit a walkoff two-run homer for Triple-A Durham on Thursday and is now batting .275/.353/.552 with 20 homers and 19 steals across 83 games this season.
ANALYSIS
That marked his third straight game with a homer, and he's actually gone four consecutive games without a strikeout -- a positive sign, as Lowe has whiffed fairly prolifically throughout his career in the minors. He may never hit for great average, but Lowe's homers and steals should make him a valuable fantasy asset once he finds his way to the majors -- whenever that may be.
Jul 12, 2021
Showing power-speed combo in minors
Lowe is hitting .290/.362/.518 with nine homers, 12 steals, 33 RBI and 32 runs for Triple-A Durham.
ANALYSIS
It's hard to find many flaws in what Lowe's done this season, as the 23-year-old has improved both his power production and his base-stealing efficiency -- he hasn't been caught a single time. Though he may get lost a bit among all the Rays' big-name prospects, Lowe has an exciting skill set for fantasy purposes. Even better, with only the light-hitting Kevin Kiermaier standing in his way, it seems like only a matter of time before Lowe is patrolling center field in Tampa.
Mar 16, 2021
Moves to MiLB camp
The Rays optioned Lowe to their minor-league camp Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
The 2016 first-round pick will likely open the 2021 campaign at Triple-A Durham after posting a .783 OPS while stealing 30 bases in 121 games with Double-A Montgomery in his last minor-league season in 2019. The 23-year-old boasts and intriguing combination of speed and plus-power from the left side of the plate, and his ability to play a solid center field could make him a candidate to fill a full-time role for the Rays this season if the team decides to trade away veteran Kevin Kiermaier at some point.
Nov 20, 2020
Protected from Rule 5 draft
Lowe's contract was purchased by the Rays on Friday, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Lowe, the younger brother of Nate Lowe, is one of the best center field prospects in the minors and is essentially big-league ready after an impressive Arizona Fall League in 2019 and a strong performance this past summer at the alternate training site. The one concern is that the platoon-happy rays may limit his exposure to left-handed pitchers, but he brings a very appealing power/speed combo to the table.
