Hits first major league home run
Caminero went 2-for-6 with a solo homer, two RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 12-8 win over the Blue Jays.
ANALYSIS
Caminero got an RBI-single in the second and then launched an opposite field home run off Tim Mayza in the fifth for his first big league blast. The 19-year-old phenom slashed .235/.278/.353 with seven RBI, four runs and a 2:8 BB:K in 36 plate appearances since he was called up and should be in the mix to make the postseason roster for the Rays.

Eventful big-league debut
Caminero went 1-for-4 with a walk and a run scored in Saturday's 7-6 win over the Blue Jays.
ANALYSIS
Making his MLB debut after having just turned 20 years old in July, Caminero collected his first career hit in the third inning, a line-drive single to left field that left his bat with an exit velocity of 112 mph. The Rays' top prospect was then a key figure in his team's comeback rally in the ninth, beating out a potential inning-ending double-play grounder to set the stage for Josh Lowe's walkoff hit. Caminero was slashing .342/.404/.747 over his final 20 games with Double-A Montgomery prior to his promotion, and he seems to have carried that confidence with him to the majors. With Tampa Bay having clinched a playoff spot with Saturday's victory, he could see regular action over the final week of the regular season and potentially even find his way onto the postseason roster if he keeps raking.

Debuting as designated hitter
Caminero will bat fifth and serve as the designated hitter in his major-league debut Saturday against the Blue Jays, Steve Carney of StPeteNine.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Caminero was called up straight from Double-A on Friday spent his first day on the roster watching from the bench. Whether that was a sign that we shouldn't expect to see him too often over the remainder of the season or merely an attempt to ease his transition to the highest level is not yet clear. The latter would seem to be more likely given that the Rays are confident installing him right in the middle of the order in his debut.

Not in Friday's lineup
Caminero is not in the lineup for Friday's contest versus the Blue Jays, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
Caminero was promoted from Double-A Montgomery to the big leagues Friday, but he will have to wait to make his first start. Being on the bench wouldn't seem to be a great sign for his playing time outlook down the stretch, although Tampa Bay could just want to give the top prospect a day to settle in. Curtis Mead is at third base Friday and Osleivis Basabe is handling shortstop.

Promotion made official
The Rays selected Caminero's contract from Double-A Montgomery on Friday, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
One of the top prospects in all of baseball, Caminero will skip the Triple-A level and report to the big leagues after turning 20 in July. He earned the promotion by slashing .324/.384/.591 with 31 home runs and 94 RBI between High-A Bowling Green and Montgomery, with 20 of those homers coming at the Double-A level. While primarily a third baseman, Caminero has experience at all four infield positions and could potentially take over at shortstop for the Rays.
