Returns to action at Triple-A
Kreidler (core) has gone 3-for-13 with a double and a stolen base in three games for Triple-A Toledo since being reinstated from the 7-day injured list Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Kreidler rejoined the Toledo lineup Thursday for his first appearance with the affiliate since April 26 after a prolonged absence due to knee soreness and then core-muscle surgery. The 25-year-old infielder remains on the Tigers' 40-man roster and could be in the mix for a late-season call-up if he can stay healthy at Triple-A and produce well at the plate.

Rehabbing at Single-A
Kreidler (abdomen) moved his rehab assignment to Single-A Lakeland on Tuesday and went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run in his first game with the affiliate.
ANALYSIS
Kreidler remains on Triple-A Toledo's 7-day injured list but appears on track to be activated this week or next. He hit .300 with three home runs, two stolen bases and 12 RBI in eight games for Toledo before being deactivated in late April after picking up a knee injury and then undergoing core-muscle surgery.

Recovering from core-muscle surgery
The Tigers announced Wednesday that Kreidler (knee) recently underwent core-muscle surgery, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Kreidler was placed on Triple-A Toledo's 7-day injured list April 28 due to knee soreness, but he was cleared to begin a rehab assignment with High-A West Michigan just under a month later. He played in five games in the Midwest League before being pulled off the assignment two weeks ago, presumably on account of the core-muscle injury. Kreidler is in the midst of daily treatment and is taking part in physical therapy following the recent procedure, but he's without a clear timeline to resume playing in games.

Starting rehab assignment
Kreidler (knee) is beginning a rehab assignment with High-A West Michigan on Friday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
ANALYSIS
Kreidler has been on the injured list at Triple-A Toledo all month because of a sore knee. He'll rejoin Toledo once he's deemed ready but could push to rejoin the major-league club at some point sooner rather than later.

Lands on Triple-A injured list
Triple-A Toledo placed Kreidler on its 7-day injured list Friday due to knee soreness, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Kreidler likely would have been in consideration for a call-up to the big leagues after Kerry Carpenter (shoulder) was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday, but Kreidler's own knee issue explains why the Tigers opted to promote Zack Short from Triple-A to fill the vacancy on the 26-man active roster. Provided Kreider's knee injury isn't anything more than soreness, he should be ready to return to action with Toledo within the next two weeks. After being optioned to Triple-A on April 15, Kreidler had slashed .300/.382/.600 across 34 plate appearances in his first eight games with Toledo.

Optioned to Triple-A
Kreidler was optioned Saturday to Triple-A Toledo.
ANALYSIS
Kreidler was just 2-for-18 (.111) with two singles and seven strikeouts through 11 games this season with Detroit.

Making third straight start
Kreidler is starting at second base and batting ninth for the Tigers in Thursday's home opener versus the Red Sox.
ANALYSIS
It's the third straight start for Kreidler, with two of them coming at second base and one at shortstop. One of those starts came against a righty, but for the most part he seems to be in a short-side platoon with Zach McKinstry. Kreidler is 2-for-11 at the plate so far this season.

Seems likely to make team
With the Tigers optioning Akil Baddoo and Zack Short to Triple-A Toledo on Monday, Kreidler has a clearer path to an Opening Day roster spot.
ANALYSIS
Kreidler is versatile enough to play across the infield and in the outfield, and that appeared to give him the edge over Baddoo and Short. Even if he sticks on the roster into the regular season, Kreidler is unlikely to have a huge fantasy impact after recording a .477 OPS across 26 games with the Tigers last year.

Productive Sunday
Kreidler went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI in Sunday's Grapefruit League game against the Twins.
ANALYSIS
Batting second, Kreidler made his presence felt. The infielder is battling for a reserve role this spring, though he'd likely make the team based on his defensive versatility, as he batted just .178 in 26 games for the Tigers in 2022. However, Kreidler looked better in the box at the Triple-A level the last two seasons, so perhaps he can improve his offensive production in the majors. Even if that happens, Kreidler will remain off the fantasy radar unless he's able to secure regular playing time.

Could earn reserve role
Kreidler may make the Tigers' Opening Day roster in a reserve role, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Tigers have some roster uncertainty, particularly with Nick Maton and Matt Vierling coming over in the trade for reliever Gregory Soto. Kreidler played in 26 games for Detroit last year and batted just .178, though his defensive versatility could help him have an inside track on a utility role off the bench.

Starting Sunday
Kreidler is starting at shortstop and batting eighth in Sunday's game against the Twins.
ANALYSIS
Kreidler picks up a start with Javier Baez getting the day game off. The rookie is stuck in a reserve role and is slashing just .190/.243/.254 this season, so he doesn't figure to offer a ton of fantasy value Sunday. He'll likely have to settle for a similar role in 2023 with Baez locked up on a six-year deal that he signed last offseason.

On bench Saturday
Kreidler isn't starting Saturday against the White Sox.
ANALYSIS
Kreidler is out of the lineup for the third time in the last four games after he went 2-for-4 with a strikeout Friday. Jeimer Candelario will start at the hot corner and bat seventh.
Sep 21, 2022
Sitting in second straight
Kreidler is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles.
ANALYSIS
Kreidler will sit for the second day in a row after producing an ugly .182/.255/.273 slash line over his first 52 plate appearances of his big-league career. In light of his struggles, the 24-year-old rookie may be in danger of moving into more of a part-time role over the final two weeks of the season.
Sep 20, 2022
Catches breather Tuesday
Kreidler is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Orioles.
ANALYSIS
Kreidler snapped out of a slump by reaching base three times and driving in three runs Monday, but that did not prevent him from being held out one day later.
Sep 17, 2022
Added to Saturday's lineup
Kreidler was added to the lineup for Saturday's game against the White Sox.
ANALYSIS
Kreidler was slated to get a day off Saturday, but he'll start at shortstop and bat seventh since Javier Baez (undisclosed) was scratched. Kreidler has hit just .189 with a home run, a double, four runs and two RBI over 11 games this month.
Sep 17, 2022
Takes seat Saturday
Kreidler isn't starting Saturday against the White Sox.
ANALYSIS
Kreidler went 0-for-7 with a run and three strikeouts over the last two matchups and will head to the bench for the second time in the last four games. Harold Castro is starting at third base and batting cleanup.
Sep 13, 2022
Riding pine Tuesday
Kreidler is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Astros.
ANALYSIS
Kody Clemens will start at the hot corner and bat seventh. Kreidler is hitting .233 with one home run, one double, nine strikeouts and three walks in nine games since getting the call this month.
Sep 11, 2022
Back in lineup Sunday
Kreidler is starting at third base and batting ninth in Sunday's game against the Royals.
ANALYSIS
Kreidler got Saturday's game off but will now be starting for the eighth time in the last nine contests. The Tigers are clearly wanting to take a look at the rookie, who is slashing .250/.321/.417 so far early in his career. Jeimer Candelario heads to the bench after starting at third Saturday.
Sep 10, 2022
Riding pine Saturday
Kreidler isn't in the lineup Saturday against the Royals.
ANALYSIS
Kreidler started the last seven games and hit .250 with a home run, a double, three runs, two RBI, three walks and seven strikeouts. Jeimer Candelario will take over at the hot corner and bat eighth.
Sep 7, 2022
Hits first MLB home run
Kreidler went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Angels.
ANALYSIS
A batter after fellow rookie Kerry Carpenter tied the game with a home run, Kreidler put the Tigers ahead with his first MLB long ball. The 24-year-old was called up from Triple-A Toledo earlier this month, and he's gone 4-for-20 across six games. Kreidler is one of Detroit's top prospects, and with Jonathan Schoop (ankle) out, the former should continue to see regular infield playing time in the final weeks of the season.
Sep 4, 2022
Picks up third straight start
Kreidler will start at second base and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Royals.
ANALYSIS
After going 2-for-5 with two walks, two runs and an RBI while starting both of the past two games at third base, Kreidler will replace Willi Castro at the keystone in the series finale. The Tigers are expected to get primary second baseman Jonathan Schoop (ankle) from the injured list during the upcoming week, but so long as Kreidler keeps producing at the plate, expect manager A.J. Hinch to find room in the lineup for the rookie somewhere.

Moves up to majors
The Tigers selected Kreidler's contract from Triple-A Toledo on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Kreidler will be on the bench for Thursday's series finale against the Mariners, but he's expected to start Friday against the Royals and could eventually challenge Willi Castro from the primary gig at second base while Jonathan Schoop (ankle) is on the shelf. Over 250 plate appearances with Toledo this season, Kreidler slashed .213/.352/.411 with eight home runs and 15 stolen bases. In addition to seeing time at the keystone, the 24-year-old Kreidler also picked up reps at shortstop and third base.
