Bibee (hip) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Sunday.

The Guardians needed to free up a spot on the 40-man roster for the return of Triston McKenzie. Bibee had already been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to right hip inflammation.

Bibee was placed on the 15-day injured list Monday, retroactive to Sept. 17, with right hip inflammation, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

Bibee suffered the injury during his last start over the weekend against the Rangers and it will officially end his season. It was an outstanding rookie campaign for the young right-hander, as he collected a 2.98 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 141:45 K:BB through 142 innings. The Guardians have yet to announce who will take Bibee's spot in the rotation, but they could bring back Shane Bieber (elbow).

Bibee (hip) will not travel with the Guardians to Kansas City, Tom Withers of the Associated Press reports.

Withers adds that Bibee's season may be over, which is not surprising if he's forced to miss any amount of time this late in the season. The rookie has been excellent with a 2.98 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 141:45 K:BB through 142 innings this year while posting a 10-4 record. Bibee's spot in the rotation could be filled by Shane Bieber (elbow) or Triston McKenzie (elbow) if the Guardians want to bring them back before the end of the season, which may be up in the air as Cleveland is seven games behind Minnesota for the AL Central lead. The Guardians have yet to officially announce any details regarding Bibee's status going forward.

The lone run against Bibee came in the fifth frame, where he allowed a single to Evan Carter and a double to Marcus Semien on back-to-back at-bats. Bibee is expected to toe the mound next against the Orioles at Progressive Field.

Bibee logged his 14th consecutive start allowing three runs or fewer, but he issued a career-high five free passes, limiting Tuesday's outing to five innings. The standout rookie owns a 10-3 record with a 3.05 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and a 2.87 K/BB ratio across 129.2 innings on the campaign. He'll look to get back in the win column in his next start, which is projected to be on the road against the Angels over the weekend.

Bibee held the Twins scoreless over the first four innings before allowing a walk and a single in two of the first three at-bats to open the fifth, which would lead to two runs coming across for Minnesota. The 24-year-old right-hander was able to get through the inning but would not return in the sixth as the Guardians eventually went on to win in extra innings. Bibee still has not allowed more than three earned runs in any start since June 13 and he's allowed two or fewer runs in 10 of his last 12 outings. He's also recorded at least five strikeouts in five straight starts and currently holds a 2.83 ERA in August.

Bibee (10-3) picked up the win Friday, giving up two runs on six hits and a walk over six innings in a 5-2 victory over the Blue Jays. He struck out five.

Solo homers by George Springer and Vladimir Guerrero accounted for the only damage off Bibee, who produced his fifth quality start in his last seven outings. The rookie right-hander has a 2.47 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 40:9 K:BB through 43.2 innings over that stretch with a 5-1 record, and he'll look to keep his second-half surge going when he next takes the mound, which is likely to come next week in Minnesota.

Bibee received plenty of run support early, then held the Rays in check to earn his ninth win. He has now won seven consecutive decisions with his last loss coming June 13. The rookie has also not allowed more than three earned runs in his last 10 starts, holding a 2.03 ERA over that stretch. Bibee is scheduled to take the hill at home next weekend in a favorable matchup against the Tigers.

Bibee was locked in a pitcher's duel with Blue Jays starter Yusei Kikuchi on Tuesday and emerged as the victor. Bibee has been nothing short of spectacular since the start of July, posting a 1.70 ERA, 1.12 WHIP across 42.1 innings and winning all four of his decisions during that stretch. The standout rookie is projected to face Tampa Bay on the road over the weekend.

Still, the 24-year-old Bibee has pitched well of late -- he's held opponents to three runs or fewer in his last seven starts, going 4-0 with a 1.96 ERA in that span. Overall, Bibee sports a solid 3.14 ERA with a 1.25 WHIP and 95:35 K:BB across 17 starts (94.2 innings) in his rookie campaign. He's currently lined up for a home matchup with the Blue Jays early next week.

Both Bibee and Phillies starter Zack Wheeler turned in an impressive start Saturday, but the rookie outdueled the veteran with his seven scoreless frames. Bibee allowed just four baserunners -- two on hits, one via walk and one on a hit-by-pitch -- and racked up an impressive 22 whiffs en route to eight strikeouts. The right-hander has yielded two or fewer runs in each of his past five starts, posting a 1.21 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 34:12 K:BB over 29.2 innings during that span.

Bibee struck out two of the three batters he faced in the sixth inning, but he gave up a one-out infield single and wasn't allowed to finish the frame. That cost him a quality start, though the rookie right-hander nonetheless shined, tying a career high with nine punchouts while recording his first scoreless MLB appearance. Bibee has cemented his place in the Guardians' rotation by allowing just one earned run over his past 11.2 frames across two starts, notching a 16:6 K:BB over that span. He's impressed with a 3.46 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 67:23 K:BB in 65 innings overall this season.

Bibee (4-2) earned the win Saturday, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits and four walks over six innings against the Brewers. He struck out seven.

After giving up five homers over his last five appearances, Bibee kept the ball in the park Saturday and managed to hold the Brewers without an extra-base hit. The rookie has been quite impressive to start the campaign, allowing one earned run in five of his 11 starts while posting an 8.80 K/9 through 59.1 innings. His lone blemish has been his control, as he's dished out at least three walks four times. Bibee's tentatively scheduled to make his next appearance against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.

After a disastrous start Tuesday versus the Padres, it was good to see Bibee submit a decent effort. It still wasn't very efficient -- he needed 105 pitches (65 strikes) to complete five frames -- but he had plenty of support from the Guardians' offense. Bibee now has a 4.05 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 51:17 K:BB over 53.1 innings through his first 10 major-league starts. He's not dominating opponents, but he's done enough to hold down a spot at the back end of the rotation. Bibee's next start is projected to be at home versus the Brewers.

Bibee (2-2) allowed six runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out three over four-plus innings, taking the loss Tuesday versus the Padres.

The Padres' four-run first inning was ultimately all they needed to win. Bibee yielded four of the six runs on home runs by Gary Sanchez and Fernando Tatis over the first two frames before settling down a bit. This was Bibee's worst start of nine in his young career, as he allowed season highs in hits and runs while walking multiple batters for the fourth time. He's still at a reasonable 3.91 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 45:14 K:BB over 48.1 innings. Bibee is projected for a tough road start in Arizona over the weekend, and his place in the rotation is at least somewhat stable until Cal Quantrill (shoulder) can return to the active roster.

Bibee stifled the Cardinals' bats throughout the contest, but a second-inning solo home run by Brendan Donovan was enough to hold him to a no-decision. The right-hander racked up an impressive 19 swinging strikes en route to a career-high nine punchouts, and he picked up his third consecutive quality start. Bibee has had one bad outing this season -- a 3.2-inning, four-run effort against Detroit on May 8 -- but has otherwise been fantastic. Overall, he's posted a 2.88 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 34:9 K:BB across 35.1 frames.

Bibee didn't factor in the decision in Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Mets. He allowed two runs on seven hits with four walks and three strikeouts across six innings.

With the Guardians playing their sixth game in five days Wednesday, Bibee was promoted from Triple-A Columbus to make the start in the series finale with Colorado. The 23-year-old was sharp and composed during his MLB debut, with the lone run on his ledger coming after a leadoff double and a bloop base hit in the sixth. He was taken out after inducing a double-play ball and ended with eight strikeouts, displaying the swing-and-miss stuff that led to a stellar first season in professional ball in 2022. Bibee and Logan Allen both impressed during their respective MLB debuts within the past few days, and at least for the short term, the two youngsters look as though they'll have the opportunity to stick around with the big club. Per Mandy Bell of MLB.com, Guardians manager Terry Francona said after Wednesday's game that Bibee will remain with the team for its upcoming road trip, even though an exact plan for the right-hander's next opportunity to pitch hasn't yet been nailed down.

The Guardians selected Bibee's contract from Triple-A Columbus and will have him start Wednesday's game against the Rockies at Progressive Field, Joe Noga of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Cleveland designated southpaw Konnor Pilkington for assignment to clear room on the 40-man roster and 26-man active roster for Bibee, who will be making his big-league debut Wednesday. After a stellar first season in professional ball in 2022, the 23-year-old right-hander continued to find success over his first three starts at Columbus, logging a 1.76 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 19:8 K:BB across 15.1 innings. Blessed with a four-pitch repertoire that he's used to generate high strikeout rates at every stop of the minors, Bibee makes for a strong speculative pickup, though fantasy managers should be aware of a potential demotion if he falters in his big-league debut. The Guardians already have five healthy members of the rotation and are adding Bibee to the mix after a recent doubleheader created a stretch of six games in five days, but he could still have a case for sticking around with the big club if he dazzles against the Rockies.
