Reds manager David Bell said Friedl (knee) checked out fine following his early exit Tuesday, Charlie Goldsmith of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Friedl took a pitch off his left knee in the sixth inning of Tuesday afternoon's Cactus League game against the Dodgers and promptly limped off the field, but he was walking normally soon. He should be able to return to Cactus League action before the end of the week.

The sixth-inning delivery from Jake Reed nailed Friedl square on the front of his knee and he looked to be in a good amount of pain as he limped off the field. Hopefully it just proves to be a bruise. The 27-year-old is projected for regular starts in the Reds' outfield this season and could also get semi-regular turns out of the leadoff spot.

Friedl (hamstring) took live batting practice Monday, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Friedl ended the 2022 season on the injured list with a right hamstring strain, but as anticipated, the injury isn't anything that will affect his availability for the start of spring training. After providing a serviceable .750 OPS to go along with seven stolen bases across 258 plate appearances with the Reds last season, the lefty-hitting Friedl should have the inside track for a strong-side platoon role in the outfield heading into Opening Day.

Friedl was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a right hamstring strain.

Despite the fact that Friedl is already 27, this was his rookie season. He logged a .240/.314/.436 slash line with eight home runs and seven steals in 258 plate appearances. Mike Siani and Aristides Aquino are candidates to pick up an extra start or two over the final two days of the season.

Friedl (leg) has been diagnosed with a hamstring injury and will miss the last two games of the regular season, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Friedl led off during the first game of Saturday's twin bill and went 1-for-3 with a double, an RBI, a walk and a strikeout. He'll get a breather while Aristides Aquino starts in right field and bats fifth.

Friedl went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and two total runs scored in Friday's 8-2 win over Milwaukee.

Friedl kicked off the scoring in Friday's contest with a solo shot, then scored again on a Jonathan India homer in the ninth. Friedl now has six homers on the season and three this month, matching his total from last month. The outfielder has been hot in his last eight games, going 12-for-33 (.363) with four homers, four RBI and eight runs scored. During that span, Friedl has improved his batting average from .252 to .276.

Friedl is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Cubs.

Friedl heads to the bench with southpaw Wade Miley on the hill for Chicago. He has been red-hot lately, hitting .438 with four home runs, three strikeouts and one walk in his last 32 at-bats.

Friedl will not start Friday against the Rockies.

Friedl has hit .386/.440/.727 with three homers in 15 games since returning to the major in mid-August. That hasn't convinced the Reds to start him against lefties like Friday's starter Kyle Freeland, however, so it will be Stuart Fairchild who gets the nod in left field.

Friedl started the last six games and hit .281 with two home runs, a triple, two doubles, five RBI and three runs. He'll get a breather while Stuart Fairchild starts in left field and bats sixth.

Friedl had the game's biggest hit, smacking a three-run homer in the sixth inning to snap a 1-1 tie. It was just his second long ball of the campaign over 40 contests with the Reds, though he did go deep eight times across 64 games with Triple-A Louisville. He isn't highly regarded for his power, but of Friedl's last six hits, four have gone for extra bases (two doubles, one triple, one homer).

Friedl isn't starting Wednesday against Philadelphia.

The Reds are facing a left-handed pitcher (Cristopher Sanchez) for a second consecutive game Wednesday, so Friedl will remain out of the lineup. Stuart Fairchild is starting in left field and batting sixth.

Friedl is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Phillies.

With lefty Ranger Suarez taking the hill for Philadelphia, the lefty-hitting Friedl will take a seat for the first time since Aug. 17. Stuart Fairchild will get a look in the corner outfield in place of Friedl, who went 3-for-13 with a solo home run, a walk, a stolen base and two additional runs while starting in each of the previous four games.

Friedl will start in left field and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Pirates.

Friedl will draw his third consecutive start and his fourth in five games in left field after going 5-for-12 with a home run, two RBI and two additional runs over his prior four contests. At least against right-handed pitching, the lefty-hitting Friedl appears to have supplanted the righty-hitting Aristides Aquino as a regular in the Cincinnati outfield.

The Reds recalled Friedl from Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday.

Friedl has been in the minors since June 19, at which point he had hit .200 with six extra-base hits in 29 games. The outfielder will likely return to Louisville once Donovan Solano (paternity) returns from his brief absence.

Friedl is hitting only .197 across 85 plate appearances on the season, though he has five stolen bases without being caught and has also tallied 11 runs scored.

The 26-year-old batted atop the order for the fourth straight game Wednesday and produced his first multi-hit game of the season. Overall he has a .220/.283/.293 slash line with two RBI, seven runs and one stolen base. Friedl has taken on an everyday role in the absences of Jake Fraley (knee) and Nick Senzel (COVID-19), and he should continue to see plenty of opportunities until one of them returns from the injured list.

Friedl will start in right field and bat leadoff in Thursday's game against the Brewers.

Due to a slew of position players who are out with injuries or due to COVID-19-related reasons, Friedl will pick up his third consecutive start and his second straight turn out of the leadoff spot. He went 1-for-5 with a triple and a run scored in the Reds' 18-4 loss Wednesday.

In Friedl's stead, manager David Bell will give Delino DeShields a spin in center field after DeShields went 2-for-2 with three walks Sunday.

Friedl isn't starting Thursday's game against the Nationals.

Friedl will be out of the lineup after he went 2-for-4 with a homer, two runs, two RBI and a walk across his last four appearances. Jose Barrero will start in center field and bat eighth.

Friedl will stick in Cincinnati outfield for the second straight day after going 0-for-1 with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in Tuesday's 6-2 loss. The lefty-hitting rookie looks like he could occupy the larger side of a platoon in center field with Jose Barrero or Delino DeShields for the rest of the season with Tyler Naquin (ribs) unlikely to play again until a potential postseason run.

Friedl had his contract selected by the Reds on Saturday.

Friedl has played the entire 2021 season at Triple-A Louisville and posted a .264/.357/.422 line across 448 plate appearances. He'll now be set for his major-league debut and could get meaningful playing time with Jesse Winker (ribs), Tyler Naquin (ribs) and Shogo Akiyama (hamstring) all on the injured list.
