Adames is slated to serve as Wisconsin's designated hitter Sunday in what will be his first game action since he sustained a concussion after being struck by a line drive off the bat of teammate Brian Anderson while he was spectating in the dugout in a May 26 game against the Giants. The 27-year-old has seemingly made strong progress in his recovery over the past week and a half, and heading out on a rehab assignment marks the final hurdle he'll need to clear before being activated. ANALYSIS
A line drive off the bat from Brian Anderson in the second inning struck Adames in the head, and he left the stadium to head to a hospital to be evaluated. The positive news is that Adames has no fractures and he's been alert throughout, and while he will remain in the hospital overnight, he's expected to be released Saturday according to Counsell. Adames will miss at least a week, but as Hogg notes in his report, this could have been much worse.

The shortstop has found some consistency lately, going 10 for his last 31 and improving his batting average from .218 to .226 during that span. With 122 strikeouts to 93 hits on the year, the batting average upside is limited for Adames, but the power is undeniable.
Aug 25, 2022
Slugs 25th homer
Adames went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, a double, a walk, two total runs and three total RBI in a loss to the Dodgers on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Adames gave Milwaukee an early lead with his first-inning solo shot off Andrew Heaney, but the Dodgers dominated the rest of the way. The long ball was the shortstop's 25th of the campaign, tying the career-high mark he established last season. Adames' 73 RBI are also tied for his career-best mark, but his .226 batting average and .291 on-base percentage is each the worst across his five big-league campaigns.

Adames has been very streaky this month, with two three-game hit streaks, a five-game hit streak and now a two-game hit streak. The shortstop has hit better of late and has a .273/.294/.515 line with two homers and seven RBI in seven games in August. While his average and OBP are down from his breakout 2021 season, the 26-year-old continues to hit for power and his 22 homers are just three shy of last year's mark.
Aug 7, 2022
Launches 22nd home run
Adames went 1-for-5 with one homer, one RBI and one run scored in Sunday's 4-2 loss to Cincinnati.
ANALYSIS
Adames took a 2-0 cutter from Graham Ashcraft deep to left-center in the third inning for his 22nd home run of the season. Sunday's effort was indicative of his season as a whole, as with the 1-for-5 effort, Adames is now hitting .220 but is second in home runs among shortstops, only to Corey Seager. Despite the low average, Adames' power and position atop the Brewers lineup make him a top option at the position.

ANALYSIS
Adames came up with two timely two-RBI hits to keep the Brewers in the back-and-forth contest. Adames now has 61 RBI on the season. The total marks a new career high despite hitting only .225 and reaching base at a poor .292 clip.

Solo homer in loss
Adames went 2-for-5 with a double and a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to Pittsburgh.
ANALYSIS
Adames put the first run on the board for either team with a solo shot in the top of the sixth inning. It was his 21st home run of the year and his first since July 22. After a five-game hit streak ended on July 25, the shortstop has struggled to get things going again, as he has six hits in his last 30 at-bats. Adames also has 10 strikeouts during that span. Even though he is batting .222 on the year, the penchant for hitting home runs is enough to keep him relevant in fantasy baseball.

Adames is in the midst of a five-game hitting streak in which he's hit .273 with three homers, a double, five RBI and three runs. However, he'll get a breather while Luis Urias starts at shortstop while Keston Hiura enters the lineup at second base.

Reclaims team home-run lead
Adames went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
Adames' first-inning blast off Jack Flaherty was his 14th of the season, breaking a tie with Hunter Renfroe for the team lead in home runs. Though he hasn't been lacking in power since returning from the injured list June 8 (five home runs, three doubles in 13 games), Adames could stand to show a more refined plate approach. He's batting only .218 and has drawn one walk against 15 strikeouts since being activated from the IL.
Jun 19, 2022
Homers in back-to-back games
Adames went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run Saturday in the Brewers' 7-3 win over the Reds.
ANALYSIS
The 26-year-old has now popped home runs in consecutive games to begin the series in Cincinnati and has six extra-base hits in his 10 contests since returning from the 10-day injured list earlier this month. He'll start at shortstop and bat second in Sunday's series finale.
Jun 15, 2022
Productive in win
Adames went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 10-2 win over the Mets.
ANALYSIS
Adames did most of his damage in the fifth inning. He opened the frame with a single, scored on a bases-loaded walk by Victor Caratini, and then added a two-run single in his second trip to the plate. With five hits -- including three for extra bases -- in his last three games, Adames is starting to show up on offense more. He's batting .208/.292/.465 with 11 homers, 30 RBI, 28 runs scored, eight doubles and a stolen base through 178 plate appearances this year.
Jun 12, 2022
Drives in three runs
Adames went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and three RBI in Sunday's 4-1 win over Washington.
ANALYSIS
Adames provided most of Milwaukee's offense Sunday, knocking an RBI double in the third inning before taking Evan Lee deep for a two-run shot in the fifth. He's now 3-for-20 with two homers since returning from the injured list. Sunday was his first multi-hit performance since May 5 and it bumped his season slash line to .200/.290/.467 with 28 RBI and 18 extra-base hits.

Makes return from IL
The Brewers reinstated Adames (ankle) from the 10-day injured list Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Milwaukee optioned utility man Pablo Reyes to Triple-A Nashville to clear a spot on the 26-man active roster for Adames, who had been sidelined since mid-May with a left high-ankle sprain. Adames checked out fine following a recent three-game rehab assignment at Nashville, so he'll be in the clear to reclaim an everyday role at shortstop. Luis Urias is expected to slide back over to third base as a result, while Jace Peterson will transition into a utility gig.
Jun 7, 2022
Set to return Wednesday
Adames (ankle/quadriceps) is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list Wednesday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
It was previously reported Adames was poised to be reinstated for Tuesday's series opener versus the Phillies, but manager Craig Counsell said the team wants to give the shortstop an extra day to make sure he's fully healthy. The 27-year-old also indicated he feels 100 percent healthy, so it appears the delayed activation is simply a precautionary move from the Brewers.
Jun 4, 2022
Expected to return Tuesday
Adames (ankle/quadriceps) is expected to be reinstated from the 10-day injured list prior to Tuesday's series opener against the Phillies, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Adames concluded his rehab assignment at Triple-A Nashville on Friday and is expected to rejoin the Brewers on Saturday. However, manager Craig Counsell said that the shortstop isn't expected to be activated until Tuesday. The 26-year-old hasn't played for Milwaukee since May 15 due to a left ankle sprain, and he faced a minor setback in his rehab process due to quad soreness. However, he should reclaim his job as the Brewers' everyday shortstop once he's officially activated.
Jun 2, 2022
Returns to Triple-A Lineup
Adames (ankle/quadriceps) is starting Thursday's game at Triple-A Nashville, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports.
ANALYSIS
Adames missed the last two games in Nashville due to quad soreness, but he'll start at shortstop and bat second Thursday. If the 26-year-old feels good after returning to game action, he'll likely be in the mix to rejoin the Brewers during their weekend series against San Diego.
May 31, 2022
Quad issue crops up
Adames (ankle) isn't in the lineup for Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday after experiencing discomfort in his right quadriceps during his first rehab game, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 26-year-old went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run and a walk during his first rehab appearance Sunday, but he apparently picked up the quad issue and won't play Tuesday. Nashville has a scheduled day off Wednesday, and Adames is expected to be back on the field for Thursday's contest, so the injury doesn't appear to be a serious concern.
May 29, 2022
Shifting rehab to Triple-A
Adames (ankle) is scheduled to make his second rehab appearance Monday at Triple-A Nashville, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
As a test of the health of Adames' sprained left ankle, the Brewers plan to have him play consecutive days in the minors before bringing him back from the 10-day injured list. He made a successful return to action at Single-A Carolina on Sunday, when he served as a designated hitter and went 1-for-2 with a home run and a walk. If Adames starts at shortstop Monday and comes out of the rehab game no worse for the wear, he could rejoin the Brewers for Tuesday's game in Chicago against the Cubs.
May 29, 2022
Starts up rehab assignment
Adames (ankle) will begin a rehab assignment at Low-A Carolina on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Adames hasn't played since May 15 due to a left ankle sprain, but he looks to be on the cusp of a return from the 10-day injured list now that he's been cleared to suit up for the Brewers' Low-A affiliate. The team hasn't indicated whether Adames will require additional rehab games to begin the upcoming week, but the Brewers will presumably see how his ankle feels coming out of Sunday's action before determining his next steps. Assuming Adames is cleared to come off the IL within the next few days, he would take back everyday duties at shortstop, with Luis Urias sliding back over to third base and Jace Peterson moving into a bench role as a result.
May 24, 2022
Won't return this weekend
Adames (ankle) participating in batting practice and fielding grounders Tuesday but won't be activated during the upcoming four-game series in St. Louis, which begins Thursday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
The 26-year-old recently said he was optimistic about being activated from the 10-day injured list when first eligible Thursday, but he'll be sidelined at least a few more days as he returns from a sprained left ankle. The fact Adames continue to ramp up his baseball activities is an encouraging sign, so he could be back for Monday's series opener against the Cubs.
May 23, 2022
Could be back Thursday
Adames (ankle) relayed that he's optimistic he'll be ready to return from the 10-day injured list when first eligible in Thursday's series opener in St. Louis, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. "There's a lot of tests that I have to pass to prove to them I'm good enough to play on Thursday, but the work that we're putting in, we're going to have a really good chance of being ready for Thursday," Adames said.
ANALYSIS
Since landing on the IL on Wednesday due to the high left ankle sprain, Adames has been able to some hitting and straight-line running without pain, but the Brewers want to ensure he has regained full lateral movement before activating him. Adames is scheduled to run the bases Tuesday, and if all goes well, he could test out his lateral movement in the field Wednesday. Even if being ready to go for Thursday's game proves to be too ambitious, Adames would still have a shot at returning later in the weekend in St. Louis.
May 18, 2022
Heads to IL
The Brewers placed Adames on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a high left ankle sprain.
ANALYSIS
The transaction is retroactive to Monday, so Adames will be eligible to come off the IL as soon as May 26. Though Adames has shown improvement since initially suffering the injury Sunday, the progress he made wasn't significant enough for the Brewers to feel optimistic about his chances of returning to the lineup by the end of the week. While Adames is on the shelf, Luis Urias is expected to take over as the everyday shortstop, with Milwaukee likely to run out a platoon of Jace Peterson and Mike Brosseau at third base.
May 17, 2022
Unlikely to return before Saturday
Adames (ankle) isn't expected to return before Saturday's game against Washington, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Adames sprained his left ankle Sunday against the Marlins. While he's avoided the injured list for now, the Brewers have yet to write off the possibility. He'll wind up missing at least five days and could miss at least 10 if he shows no improvement Wednesday.
May 17, 2022
Feels better, but IL not dismissed
Adames (ankle) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Atlanta, and Brewers president of baseball operations David Stearns said the shortstop could still require a stint on the 10-day injured list, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Adames sat out Monday's 1-0 win with the left ankle sprain, an injury that previously forced him out of Sunday's 7-3 victory over the Marlins. Though he'll give way to Luis Urias at shortstop for the second day in a row, Adames showed enough improvement upon reporting to the ballpark Tuesday for the Brewers to push back an IL decision until Wednesday, according to Stearns. That being said, Stearns noted that a trip to the IL is "still on the table" for Adames, who may need to resume baseball activities in some capacity Wednesday to avoid being deactivated for at least the next week.
May 16, 2022
Could require IL stint
Manager Craig Counsell said Monday that Adames (ankle) could require a trip to the injured list, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Adames underwent X-rays that came back negative Sunday, but he's still feeling sore and will visit with team doctors Monday night. He's out of the lineup for Monday's game against Atlanta, but the team could choose to give him additional time to recover. If Adames requires a trip to the injured list, Luis Urias and Mike Brosseau would likely see additional time at shortstop, while Pablo Reyes would be a candidate to join the major-league roster.
May 16, 2022
Not in Monday's lineup
Adames (ankle) isn't starting Monday's game against Atlanta, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Adames sustained a left ankle sprain during Sunday's win over the Marlins, but he underwent X-rays that came back negative. However, he'll be held out of the lineup for the first time this season. Luis Urias will shift to shortstop while Jace Peterson starts at third base.
May 15, 2022
X-rays negative
Adames (ankle) underwent X-rays that came back negative Sunday, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports.
ANALYSIS
Adames exited Sunday's win over the Marlins due to a left ankle sprain, and he doesn't appear to be dealing with any structural damage. He'll be reevaluated when the Brewers return to Milwaukee on Monday and is considered day-to-day for now. If Adames misses any additional time, Luis Urias and Mike Brosseau would likely fill in at shortstop.
May 15, 2022
Dealing with ankle sprain
Adames was diagnosed with a sprained right ankle after leaving Sunday's game at Miami, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
The 26-year-old suffered the injury during the first inning Sunday when he safely slid into home plate, and he was removed from the contest one inning later. Adames will be re-evaluated Monday and should be considered day-to-day in the meantime.
May 15, 2022
Leaves Sunday's game
Adames was removed from Sunday's game against the Marlins with an apparent left ankle injury, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Adames reached via fielders' choice during the opening frame and came around to score, but he appeared to tweak his ankle while sliding into home plate. The 26-year-old initially remained in the contest but was replaced in the field for the bottom of the second inning. He should be considered day-to-day until the team updates his status.
May 5, 2022
Two blasts in blowout win
Adames went 2-for-4 with two two-run homers, a walk and an additional run scored during Thursday's 10-5 win over the Reds.
ANALYSIS
Adames hit a two-run shot off Reds starter Hunter Greene in the bottom of the second inning to give the Brewers a 6-3 lead and added another two-run dinger off Reds reliever Art Warren in the eighth to extended Milwaukee's advantage to 10-5. The shortstop has seven home runs and 17 RBI over his last 10 games.
May 4, 2022
Blasts three-run homer
Adames went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Tuesday's win over the Reds.
ANALYSIS
Adames hit a long ball off Tyler Mahle in the third inning, his fifth homer in his last eight games (sixth overall). The 26-year-old shortstop has upped his OPS more than 200 points in that eight-game stretch, to slightly over .800. He has one stolen base in two attempts so far this season.
Apr 30, 2022
Belts fifth homer
Adames went 2-for-5 with a double, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Friday's 11-1 win over the Cubs.
ANALYSIS
The Brewers smacked 10 extra-base hits including six homers on the night, with Adames providing more than his share of the slugging. The shortstop is only batting .225 through 21 games, but he's delivering his expected power numbers with five home runs and 14 RBI.
Apr 26, 2022
Homers twice, drives in seven
Adames went 4-for-5 with a double, two home runs and seven total RBI in Tuesday's win over the Pirates.
ANALYSIS
The Brewers won a 12-8 slugfest and Adames did the heavy lifting. He hit a two-run homer in the first inning, drove in two on a double in the fifth inning later went yard a second time to cap a six-run sixth for Milwaukee. He also homered Monday, so Adames has more extra-base hits in the last two days than he had in his first 16 games of the 2022 season.
Apr 25, 2022
Drills second homer
Adames went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 4-2 loss to the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Adames came through in the bottom of the eighth inning with a solo blast that tied the game at two, but the Brewers would cough up the lead in the ninth. Monday's long ball marks Adames' first home run since Apr. 10 against the Cubs, and it could be a sign that he's ready to bust out of an early slump. The shortstop is slashing .194/.296/.323 through his first 17 games of 2022.
Apr 24, 2022
Steals home in win
Adames went 2-for-4 with a run, an RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's victory over the Phillies.
ANALYSIS
The stolen base came as part of a double steal executed by Adames and teammate Christian Yelich, and Adames wound up being credited with both his first stolen base of the season and a steal of home on the play. Adames has started every game this season, and after going through a 2-for-29 (.069) stretch, he reached base four times over the Brewers' last two games.
Apr 13, 2022
Reaches three times in win
Adames went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and three runs in Tuesday's victory over the Orioles.
ANALYSIS
Adames reached base multiple times for the third time in five games, and he now owns five runs and a .988 OPS on the season. He has started every game at the shortstop position and has filled the second spot in the batting order in each contest.
Apr 10, 2022
Crosses plate twice Sunday
Adames went 1-for-3 with a solo homer, two runs, a walk and two strikeouts in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Cubs.

During his three-game hitting streak to open the year, he's gone 4-for-12 with a homer, a double, four runs, two RBI, a walk and five strikeouts.
Apr 3, 2022
Back in lineup
Adames (calf) will start at shortstop and bat second in Sunday's Cactus League game against the Rangers.
ANALYSIS
Adames was pulled early in Friday's game against the Cubs after experiencing some calf cramping, but after a day of rest Saturday, he'll check back into the lineup to close out the weekend. The 26-year-old is positioned to begin the season as Milwaukee's everyday shortstop and should occupy a prominent spot in the lineup against both left- and right-handed pitching.
Apr 1, 2022
Managing calf cramp
Adames was removed from Friday's Cactus League game against the Brewers due to a calf cramp, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Manager Craig Counsell said after Friday's matchup that Adames is fine, so it seems unlikely that the shortstop will be forced to miss time to begin the regular season. He should be considered day-to-day with just under a week remaining until Opening Day.
Apr 1, 2022
Exits with apparent injury
Adames left Friday's game against the Cubs with an apparent leg injury, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
The nature and severity of the injury are not yet clear. With Luis Urias (quadriceps) opening the year on the injured list, the Brewers may have to turn to Mike Brosseau, Jace Peterson or Pablo Reyes at shortstop if Adames is forced to miss time.
Mar 22, 2022
Settles on contract with Milwaukee
Adames agreed to a one-year, $4.6 million deal with the Brewers on Tuesday to avoid arbitration, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.
ANALYSIS

Sends homer No. 25
Adames went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, an additional run and two walks in an 8-3 loss to the Dodgers on Saturday.
ANALYSIS

Sep 29, 2021
Returns to lineup
Adames (quadriceps) is starting Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
Adames was removed from Tuesday's lineup as a precautionary measure due to left quadriceps discomfort, but he'll be back in the lineup a day later. The 26-year-old will start at shortstop and bat second.
Sep 28, 2021
Scratched with quad issue
Adames was scratched from Tuesday's lineup at St. Louis due to left quadriceps discomfort, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The injury is with the same quad that sent Adames to the injured list earlier in September, so it's a potential worrying development during the final week of the regular season. The Brewers labeled his removal from the starting nine a precautionary measure, and the team figures to be extra careful for the final six games of the season since its playoff seeding is already locked in. Luis Urias will take over at shortstop and should continue to see time there until Adames is cleared.
Sep 27, 2021
Leads Crew to division-clinching win
Adames went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, a walk, three RBI and three runs scored in Sunday's 8-4 win over the Mets.
ANALYSIS
Adames showed out on Sunday as the Brewers clinched the National League Central with a win over the Mets. He started off by taking Carlos Carrasco deep to left in the first to put Milwaukee up 2-1. He would reach base three more times throughout the game and was able to cross home again twice. The 26-year-old has been absolutely brilliant since coming over to Milwaukee. He's slashing .289/.370/.529 with 19 homers, 57 RBI, 57 runs scored, four steals and 44:98 BB:K over 533 plate appearances since joining the team May 22.
Sep 25, 2021

ANALYSIS

Sep 20, 2021
Officially reinstated Monday
Adames (quadriceps) was activated from the 10-day injured list Monday.
ANALYSIS
The 26-year-old participated in pregame workouts over the weekend, which proved to be the final hurdle before being cleared to return from the injured list. Adames should reclaim the starting role at shortstop after missing the past two-plus weeks, but he could also receive more regular off days over the final two weeks of the season to help manage his return since the Milwaukee's playoff seeding is relatively secure.
Sep 17, 2021
Trending toward Monday return
Manager Craig Counsell said that Adames (quadriceps) will participate in pregame workouts over the weekend before likely being activated from the 10-day injured list for Monday's game against the Cardinals, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports.
ANALYSIS
Counsell said earlier in the week that the club was hoping to have Adames back at some point during the series against St. Louis, and now they have zoned in on Monday as the target return date for the shortstop. Assuming he's activated early next week as planned, Adames should assume his everyday duties at shortstop during the final two weeks of the regular season and into the playoffs.
Sep 15, 2021
Eyeing St. Louis series for return

ANALYSIS
The Brewers plan to put Adames through more workouts this weekend to gauge the health of his strained left quad, but if all goes well, the 26-year-old looks like he'll be ready to take back duties at shortstop for the final two weeks of the regular season. Luis Urias has been serving as the primary option at the position since Adames was placed on the IL on Sept. 5.

Sep 8, 2021
Hitting in batting cage
Adames (quadriceps) hit in the batting cage Wednesday and revealed he may not be 100 percent recovered until the offseason, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Adames landed on the injured list Sunday after aggravating his strained left quad, and it's unclear how long he's going to be sidelined. The 26-year-old should return this season but isn't expected to be fully healthy, though he hopes to get back to "at least 95 percent" in advance of the playoffs.
Sep 5, 2021
Moves to injured list
Adames was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday with a strained left quadriceps.
ANALYSIS
Adames aggravated the quadriceps injury during Saturday's game against the Cardinals after starting the contest 3-for-3, and he'll now be sidelined for at least the next 10 days. It's unclear how long the 26-year-old is expected to be sidelined, but the Brewers are figure to be cautious with his return since a potential playoff run is on the horizon, especially since he already missed some time after originally suffering the injury in late August.

The 25-year-old is 3-for-19 with eight strikeouts in his past six appearances and will attempt to get back on track in San Francisco. According to Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Adames will have more frequent maintenance days down to stretch to help ease his return from the quad issue.

He was spotted running the bases during batting practice Monday and gave reporters a thumbs up after the workout, seemingly hinting that he'll be back in action Tuesday. Adames doubled during the opening frame and came around to score, and he apparently picked up the injury while running the bases. The Brewers labeled his removal as precautionary, so the 25-year-old could end up making a quick return to the field. Jace Peterson entered the lineup in his place and is playing third base, while Luis Urias moves to shortstop.

Perfect at plate
Adames went 3-for-3 with a home run, an additional run scored and a walk in Friday's win over the Pirates.
ANALYSIS
Adames was one of three Brewers that went deep against Pittsburgh's starter, JT Brubaker, and the shortstop has been on a power tear of late with four homers over his last eight games. He also has hit safely in all but two games during that eight-game stretch while plating 11 runs, scoring eight of his own and posting a strong 8:6 BB:K to go along with a .379 average. Adames went 4-for-4 with four base hits Wednesday in the Brewers' 7-3 loss to the Reds.
ANALYSIS
Adames' efforts weren't enough for the Brewers to extend their winning streak to six games, but he's undoubtedly provided a much-needed spark to a Milwaukee offense that was struggling mightily prior to his acquisition May 21. Since debuting for Milwaukee a day later, the Brewers have gone 13-4, with Adames slashing an impressive .300/.382/.483 over that 17-game stretch. He'll be in the lineup for Thursday's series finale, manning shortstop and batting fifth.

Delivers four hits, four RBI
Adames went 4-for-5 with a home run and four RBI Thursday against the Brewers.
ANALYSIS
Adames delivered a clutch three-run home run in the seventh inning to put the Brewers ahead. It was his first extra-base hit since being traded to Milwaukee on May 21 and debuting one day later. Adames should remain locked into regular playing time, but he will need to decrease his 33.1 percent strikeout rate to improve his .217/.283/.395 line across 166 plate appearances this season.
May 22, 2021
Making Brewers debut
Adames is batting sixth and playing shortstop Saturday against the Reds, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Adames begins his Brewers career one day after being dealt by the Rays, with whom he spent his first 3+ MLB seasons. A defensively-sound shortstop, the 25-year-old figures to take the reins from the error-prone Luis Urias and be an everyday staple at the position for Milwaukee.
May 21, 2021
Shipped to Milwaukee
Adames and Trevor Richards were acquired by the Brewers from the Rays on Friday in exchange for relievers J.P. Feyereisen and Drew Rasmussen, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Luis Urias has struggled defensively at shortstop since the departure of Orlando Arcia, prompting Milwaukee to explore the trade market. Adames has struggled at the plate so far in 2021 with a .625 OPS, but he posted a .755 OPS across his first three seasons in the big-leagues. He figures to take over the starting role at shortstop for the Brewers once he officially joins his new team.
May 20, 2021
Heads to bench
Adames is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Orioles, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Adames will sit out the series finale after he went 5-for-15 with a home run, two doubles, five walks, five runs and four RBI while starting at shortstop in the Rays' previous five games. That represents one of the best stretches of the season for the 25-year-old, who is still sitting on a career-worst .197/.254/.371 batting line for the campaign. With multiple highly-regarded middle-infield prospects waiting in the wings at Triple-A Durham, Adames will need to continue to excel at the plate moving forward to ensure he holds down an everyday role for the balance of the season.
May 16, 2021
Launches two-run shot
Adames went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run in Sunday's win over the Mets.
ANALYSIS
Adames extended his hitting streak to three games and has reached base at least twice in all three of those contests, as he's leaving behind a woeful stretch between May 1 and May 12 where he only hit .206 across 34 at-bats. He also launched his fifth homer of the campaign, but the power display has been noticeable of late -- he has connected three of his five home runs during the current month.
May 16, 2021
On base thrice in win
Adames went 1-for-3 with a two-run double, two walks and two runs in a win over the Mets on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
It was an extremely rare taste of offensive success for Adames, who's slashing just .187/.237/.341 even when factoring in Saturday's productive day. The 25-year-old has shown some signs of life at the plate over the last 10 games by hitting .242 with two doubles, two home runs, six RBI and six runs during that span, but he's also struck out at a mammoth 48.6 percent during that sample.

May 9, 2021
Belts three-run homer
Adames went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Athletics.
ANALYSIS
Adames came up huge with a game-tying three-run shot in the fifth inning off Cole Irvin. Although the 25-year-old shortstop entered Sunday in a massive slump, this crucial homer might have earned him a spot in the lineup for Tuesday's homestand against the Yankees.
May 8, 2021

Apr 27, 2021
Sitting again Tuesday
Adames is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Athletics, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Now on the bench for the second time in three days, Adames may be at risk of moving into more of a part-time role in light of his rough start to the season. After an 0-for-3 showing in Monday's 2-1 loss, Adames is now sitting on a .183/.227/.338 slash line and 30.7 percent strikeout rate through 75 plate appearances. Joey Wendle will cover shortstop Tuesday and bat fifth.
Apr 25, 2021
Gets Sunday off

Apr 20, 2021
Productive in Monday's win
Adames went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base in Monday's 4-1 win over the Royals.
ANALYSIS
The bottom of the order did most of the damage for the Rays in this one, as the trio of Joey Wendle, Adames and Kevin Kiermaier combined for five hits, four runs and two RBI. The steal was Adames' first of the year, but perhaps more importantly he didn't strike out, the first time he's avoided fanning in a start since April 3. On the season, the shortstop has a shaky .204/.232/.370 slash line with two homers, four RBI and six runs through 17 games.
Apr 18, 2021
Takes seat Sunday
Adames is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Adames will sit out for the second time in four games while he remains in a prolonged slump at the plate. Over the Rays' last seven contests, Adames has gone 2-for-24 with 11 strikeouts, dropping his season average to .180. Adames could end up ceding more work at shortstop to Joey Wendle -- and eventually, top prospect Wander Franco -- if he struggles to get going at the plate in his future starts.
Apr 15, 2021
Gets breather Thursday
Adames isn't starting Thursday's game against the Rangers, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Adames has gone hitless with three strikeouts in his last seven at-bats. Joey Wendle will start at shortstop Thursday while Mike Brosseau enters the lineup at third base.
Apr 13, 2021
Swats second homer
Adames went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Monday's 1-0 win over the Rangers.
ANALYSIS
He took Taylor Hearn deep in the seventh inning to give Tyler Glasnow and the bullpen all the run support they would need. Adames also struck out twice, giving him a shaky 2:9 BB:K over his last seven games, but he's hit both his homers on the season during that stretch while supplying four RBI and three runs.
Apr 9, 2021

Apr 6, 2021
Scuffling to open season
Adames went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk in a loss to the Red Sox on Monday, but he's hitting just .182 (2-for-11) over his first three games.
ANALYSIS
The 25-year-old only had an Opening Day single to his name prior to Monday's two-bagger. Adames' slow start, albeit over what is still a very modest sample, is a disappointment after he was the Rays' most consistent offensive player throughout spring while posting a .390/.457/.805 slash across 46 Grapefruit League plate appearances.
Apr 2, 2021
Not in Friday's lineup
Adames is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Marlins.
ANALYSIS

Mar 30, 2021
Closes spring on power surge
Adames, who slugged two solo home runs in a Grapefruit League win over the Orioles on Monday, hit four round trippers in his last six exhibitions.
ANALYSIS
Adames also wrapped up spring with a four-game hitting streak, as he laced a double in the Grapefruit League finale in his one plate appearance against the Tigers on Tuesday. Adam Berry of MLB.com reports the 25-year-old's ramped-up offseason training, which included swing adjustments, seems to be paying dividends at just the right time with Thursday's Opening Day tilt against the Marlins next on tap. "I'm just happy that all that work we put in is going to the field now in the games. It's translated from the cage to the field, and all that makes me feel really good about the work that we put in in the offseason," Adames said.
Mar 27, 2021
Swings hot bat throughout spring
Adames went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and two runs in a Grapefruit League win over the Red Sox on Friday, pushing his spring average to .343 (12-for-35) heading into Saturday's action.
ANALYSIS
Adames has kept his foot on the gas at the plate all spring, with the rest of his line consisting of two doubles, a triple, two home runs, five RBI, five walks and eight runs across 40 plate appearances. The 25-year-old has only gone hitless in consecutive exhibitions once across that 15-game sample, giving him no shortage of momentum heading into the regular season and seemingly corroborating the effectiveness of the adjustments he made to his swing this offseason.
Mar 8, 2021
Solid start to spring
Adames is hitting .300 (3-for-10) with a double, a walk, an RBI and two runs across his first four spring games.
ANALYSIS
Entering his fourth major-league season, Adames is looking to put it all together after showing plenty of flashes thus far in his first three campaigns. Adames slugged a career-high .481 in 2020, belted a career-high 20 home runs a season prior, and generated a career-best .348 on-base percentage as a rookie back in 2018. The 25-year-old upped the intensity of his training this past offseason in an attempt to hit on all cylinders offensively in 2021, and he's gotten his quest off to an encouraging start, albeit over a small sample, early in Grapefruit League play.
Feb 23, 2021
Primed after productive offseason
Adames trained "harder than last year" this offseason after a significantly underwhelming finish to the 2020 season and postseason, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Adames split his training time between Miami and Santiago in the Dominican Republic this offseason after hitting just .149 over his last 18 games and following it up with an even more meager .136 mark in the postseason. Like teammate Kevin Kiermaier, Adames confessed to fears of being traded this past offseason, but he's back in his usual starting shortstop role and is looking forward to seeing if his offseason work pays dividends. "Hopefully this year is a little bit different for me in a good way," Adames said. "I'm just happy to be around, just happy to be back and can't wait to be on the field and show what we can do."
Sep 30, 2020
Swipes bag
Adames went 0-for-2 with a walk while recording a stolen base Tuesday to defeat the Blue Jays in Game 1 of the Wild Card Round.
ANALYSIS

Not starting season finale
Adames is not in the lineup Sunday against the Phillies, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS

Sep 23, 2020
Homers, steals base in loss
Adames went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, a stolen base and an additional run Tuesday in the Rays' 5-2 loss to the Mets.
ANALYSIS
Adames' second-inning long ball accounted for the Rays' only earned run off Mets starter Seth Lugo, who struck out seven over 6.1 innings. The shortstop later came around to cross home on a wild pitch in the sixth inning after putting himself in scoring position on a successful double steal with Joe Wendle. Adames' batting average has nosedived in September thanks to a huge uptick in strikeouts (45.6 K%), but he's still managed to be a decent power source with four home runs on the month.
Sep 21, 2020
Slumping in September
Adames, who went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Orioles on Sunday, is nevertheless slashing just .104/.173/.229 over the 52 plate appearances encompassing his last 13 games.
ANALYSIS
Adames' season line was up to an impressive .322/.398/.585 following a fourth straight multi-hit effort on Sept. 2 in a win over the Yankees, but the shortstop has been in a deep funk since. At the heart of the 25-year-old's extended struggles is a massive 51.9 percent strikeout rate over that span, which has helped limit Adames to just five total hits during the sample. There was a glimmer of hope to be found in Sunday's round tripper, however, as it marked the second time Adames left the yard in the last three games.
Sep 19, 2020
Not in lineup Saturday

Sep 11, 2020
Not starting Friday
Adames is out of the lineup Friday against the Red Sox, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Adames is 1-for-17 with 13 strikeouts over his past five games and will head to the bench Friday. Joey Wendle will take over at shortstop while Brandon Lowe starts at second base.
Sep 9, 2020
On base thrice in loss
Adames went 1-for-2 with two walks in a loss to the Nationals on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
The 25-year-old shortstop pushed his season on-base percentage to an impressive .376 with Tuesday's busy night. In the process, Adames snapped a brief 0-for-12 skid that had encompassed his last three games, and based on a 5-for-7 tally over his first two games of the month, he's still hitting a solid .286 through his first six September contests.
Sep 5, 2020
Gets day off Saturday
Adames isn't in Saturday's lineup against the Marlins.
ANALYSIS
Adames struck out in each of his four at-bats Friday, and he'll take a seat for Saturday's contest. Joey Wendle will start at shortstop in his place.
Sep 2, 2020
Swats fifth homer
Adames went 3-for-3 with a double, a solo home run and a second run scored in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Yankees.
ANALYSIS
The shortstop picked up right where he'd left off at the end of August. Adames has three straight multi-hit efforts, and over his last 10 games he's batting .378 (14-for-37) with a 1.167 OPS. The hot streak has pushed his slash line on the season up to .316/.391/.579 with five homers, 15 RBI and 22 runs through 35 games.
Sep 1, 2020
Finishes August on tear
Adames, who went 3-for-5 with a double in a win over the Yankees on Monday, finished August with a .333/.403/.633 slash line over the 67 plate appearances he logged in his last 17 games of the month.
ANALYSIS
The hot-hitting shortstop will look to keep up the stellar work at the plate over the several weeks of the season. Adames has been putting plenty of good wood on the ball during the aforementioned stretch as well, belting seven doubles and three home runs while generating an elite 38.5 percent line-drive rate and 46.2 percent hard-contact rate. However, he struck out at an elevated 31.3 percent rate and benefited from an unsustainable .472 BABIP over the same period, so some September regression is possible if he doesn't begin making more consistent contact.
Aug 30, 2020
Blasts grand slam in win
Adames went 2-for-5 with a grand slam and one strikeout in Sunday's win against the Marlins.
ANALYSIS

Enjoys strong spring slate
Adames hit .364 (8-for-22) with two doubles, one home run, two RBI, four walks and six runs across 12 Grapefruit League games before spring training was suspended.
ANALYSIS
Adames is set to once again serve as the everyday shortstop in 2020, but his impressive spring showing nevertheless is an encouraging sight for fantasy managers banking on a breakout season fro the promising shortstop. The 24-year-old already made significant strides in his major-league sophomore campaign in 2019, as he established new career highs in doubles (25), home runs (20) and RBI (52) while also lacing his first big-league triple. Whittling down last season's bloated 26.2 percent strikeout rate will certainly be key to Adames taking the next step at the plate, and on that note, it's somewhat disappointing that eight of the 14 outs he made in spring play came on whiffs.
