Solid end to the season
Sowell tallied five receptions (on eight targets) for 108 yards during Saturday's 29-27 loss versus Tulsa.
ANALYSIS
Sowell ended his freshman campaign with another 100-yard outing in Saturday's loss. He finished the campaign as the Pirates' top receiver in terms of receptions and yards, a very promising sign for his career moving forward. He finished the campaign for 47 catches on 79 targets for 622 yards and a touchdown in 12 games. If he can find more consistent quarterback play next season, he could be even more successful.

Lone bright spot in loss
Sowell gathered in six of nine targets for 62 yards during Saturday's 10-0 loss versus Navy.
ANALYSIS
Sowell was by far the Pirates' most productive offensive player Saturday as he led the team in receptions, targets and yards from scrimmage. The true freshman has quietly turned into the team's No. 1 receiver, gathering at least eight targets in five of the last seven games. He will look to keep that momentum going Saturday versus Tulsa in the season finale.

Solid in win over FAU
Sowell hauled in five of eight targets for 72 yards during Saturday's 22-7 victory versus Florida Atlantic.
ANALYSIS
Sowell had another productive day Saturday as he accounted for nearly half of Alex Flinn's passing yards in the win. He led the team in receptions, targets and yards Saturday and now leads the team in receiving yards as a true freshman.

Scores late in loss
Sowell posted four receptions (on nine targets) for 54 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 41-27 defeat against Texas-San Antonio.
ANALYSIS
Sowell scored his first touchdown of the season Saturday, a four-yard reception with 15 seconds left in the fourth quarter. While the touchdown did not mean anything to the game, it is good for him to finally find the endzone for the first time in his collegiate career. The true-freshman has seen at least five targets in each of his last six games, and with the hectic quarterback situation seemingly resolved, he could be in for a fairly productive final four games.

Lone bright spot Thursday
Sowell notched seven receptions for 120 yards during Thursday's 31-10 loss versus Southern Methodist.
ANALYSIS
Sowell put together his best game of the season Thursday as he posted a season-high 120 yards and made seven catches for the second week in a row. The true freshman has found his groove and now leads the team in receptions and yards despite recording one catch for five yards over the first two games of the season. He has yet to catch his first touchdown though which may continue given the Pirates have just two passing touchdowns in six games this season.

Breaks out versus Rice
Sowell gathered in 7 of 10 targets for 88 yards during Saturday's 24-17 loss against Rice.
ANALYSIS
Sowell came into Saturday's game with eight catches over four games, and left Saturday with seven catches on 10 targets. The Colorado transfer led the team in receptions, targets and yards Saturday and was the only receiver that Alex Flinn found consistently and efficiently. He will look to build on this performance Thursday versus SMU.

Finds new home
Sowell will transfer to East Carolina, he announced on Twitter on Friday.
ANALYSIS
Sowell only appeared in three games his freshman season at Colorado, so he should be able to call 2022 a redshirt year. The wideout caught two passes for 23 yards, and was targeted eight times. He'll hope to make an instant impact in the East Carolina wide receiver room.

Done for the year
Sowell had surgery for a torn labrum and will miss the rest of this season, Brian Howell of the Boulder Daily Camera reports.
ANALYSIS
Sowell apparently was told he needed surgery before the season even began but wanted to play through it. After four games, the doctors had seen enough and declared his season to be done. Sowell finished with just two catches for 23 yards and will aim to get healthy ahead of next season.

Does not travel to Arizona
Sowell (undisclosed) didn't make the trip to face Arizona, according to Brian Howell of the Boulder Daily Camera.
ANALYSIS
Sowell was among several players that didn't make the trip to Arizona, though the freshman has yet to make a catch since he ended up with two receptions for 23 yards in Week 1 against TCU. His next chance to play will come Oct. 15 at home against California.
