Expected to miss rest of season
Weigman's lower leg injury is more extensive than previously thought and is expected to miss the rest of the season, Brent Zwerneman of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Weigman was initially called day-to-day earlier in the week after the initial x-rays came back negative. Further tests showed that it was not just a bad ankle sprain and that there was a more significant injury. This will mark the third year in a row that an Aggie quarterback has suffered a season-ending injury early in the campaign with Haynes King suffering a broken ankle in 2021 and Max Johnson suffering a broken thumb in 2022. Fortunately, Johnson is healthy this year and will be able to take over as the starting quarterback for the team going forward. Weigman will focus on his rehab on hope to be on track to participate in spring ball.

Tabbed day-to-day
Coach Jimbo Fisher said Monday that Weigman (lower leg) can be considered day-to-day ahead of Saturday's game against Arkansas, Brent Zwerneman of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Weigman exited Texas A&M's last game after the first half due to a lower leg injury. Though his X-rays came back negative, he is still battling a sprain and some swelling, leaving his Week 5 status up in the air. If Weigman were to be held out Saturday, Max Johnson would be the presumed starter.

X-Rays negative
Weigman (lower leg) underwent an x-ray on his lower leg which came back negative, Travis Brown of The Eagle reports.
ANALYSIS
Weigman who was helped off the field during the first half of Saturday's game against Auburn, appears to have avoided a major injury. The sophomore quarterback has been impressive in his first season as the Aggies' starter, but head coach Jimbo Fisher had no information on how much time Weigman would miss.

Not warming up for second half
Weigman (ankle) isn't warming up for the second half of Saturday's game versus Auburn, Travis L. Brown of The Eagle reports.
ANALYSIS
Weigman left Saturday's game early with an ankle injury, and it appears that he will not play in the remainder of the game. Max Johnson is set to be the team's quarterback for the remainder of the contest.

Exits game Saturday
Weigman (ankle) was assisted to the locker room by trainers late in the second quarter of Saturday's showdown with Auburn, TexAgs.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Weigman suffered an apparent ankle injury which has forced his exit from the field during Saturday's matchup against the Tigers. It is unclear if the sophomore quarterback will be able to return for the second half, but Max Johnson appears ready make a relief appearance.

Tosses first picks of career
Weigman was 31-for-53 passing for 336 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions during Saturday's 48-33 defeat versus Miami (FL). He also had five rushes for 29 yards with one touchdown.
ANALYSIS
Weigman showed flashes of brilliance, but also threw the first interceptions of his collegiate career and completed under 60-percent of his throws in the loss. A cupcake matchup with ULM should allow him plenty of opportunities for touchdown passes next weekend.

Answers doubters in opener
Weigman was 18-for-23 passing for 236 yards and five touchdowns during Saturday's 52-10 victory versus New Mexico. He also had three rushes for 22 yards.
ANALYSIS
There were some questions about the quarterback position for A&M entering this contest, but Weigman answered them with a stellar performance. He took the starting job late last season for the Aggies and has not relinquished the hold, as Max Johnson threw just six passes despite the lopsided final score. Weigman's first real test looms next weekend at Miami against a much-improved Hurricanes squad that is also hungry to prove last season's down year was a fluke.

Named starting QB for Week 1
Weigman was named Texas A&M's starting quarterback for Week 1, TexAgs.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Weigman and Max Johnson were competing to be Texas A&M's starting quarterback for Week 1. Eventually, the former won out and has an immediate opportunity to break out in 2023. Weigman showed some upside with a limited sample size in 2022, when he logged 73 completions and 27 rushes for 993 all-purpose yards and eight touchdowns (all passing).
Nov 19, 2022
Tosses touchdown in win
Weigman completed 11-of-19 passes for 191 yards and a touchdown Saturday against Massachusetts, while also rushing eight times for 66 yards in the 20-3 win.
ANALYSIS
Weigman has six touchdown passes in his last three games for the Aggies. The regular season comes to a disappointing end for A&M against LSU next weekend.
Nov 13, 2022
Dismal completion percentage
Weigman completed just 14-of-36 throws for 121 yards and a touchdown Saturday at Auburn.
ANALYSIS
Though none of Weigman's passes went to the other team, he was nonetheless wildly inaccurate in the 13-10 loss to the Tigers. Weigman had the flu last week and missed the game versus the Gators; thus, it remains possible he was still feeling the effects of the illness. A step down in competition versus UMass next weekend should help Weigman to right the ship.

Cleared to practice
Coach Jimbo Fisher said that Weigman (illness) has been cleared to practice this week, TexAgs.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Weigman was unable to play last week due to a battle with the flu. The expectation is that Weigman should be able to return for this Saturday's game against Auburn. Texas A&M needs a win in the worst way and having Weigman back in the fold should certainly help that cause.
Nov 5, 2022
Not warming up pre-game
Weigman (illness) was not seen in warmups ahead of the game versus Florida on Saturday, TexAgs.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Weigman came into the day unlikely to play due to illness and this seems to confirm that the Aggie's signal caller will not take the field. Haynes King will start in his place.
Nov 5, 2022
Not expected to start
Weigman (illness) was not cleared to play as of Friday and is not expected to play Saturday against Florida, 247 Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Haynes King is expected to take over as the starter with Weigman among several Aggies dealing with a case of the flu.
Nov 5, 2022
Questionable for Saturday night
Weigman (illness) is questionable for Saturday night's game against Florida, Pete Thamel of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Thamel, the Aggies are battling through a flu outbreak on the team that is affecting multiple players, including Weigman. If Weigman is unable to go, Haynes King would likely be the next man up if healthy. It is unclear at this time which other Aggies are impacted by this outbreak.
Oct 30, 2022
Balls out in loss
Weigman completed 28-of-44 passes for 338 yards and four touchdowns Saturday against Ole Miss.
ANALYSIS
Though the Aggies fell by a score of 31-28, Weigman showed why he was a five-star recruit, providing competent quarterback play for A&M for arguably the first time this season. Weigman will almost certainly start against Florida next weekend.
Oct 29, 2022
Expected to start against Ole Miss
Weigman is expected to start Saturday against Mississippi, Mike Craven of Dave Campbell's Texas Football reports.
ANALYSIS
This is a potentially big development for the embattled Aggies as they turn to the five-star true freshman to provide a much-needed spark. Weigman went 8-for-15 for 91 yards in relief of Haynes King in Week 8 against South Carolina.
Oct 23, 2022
Relieves injured starter
Weigman relieved the injured Haynes King (shoulder) and completed 8-of-15 passed for 91 yards Saturday at South Carolina.
ANALYSIS
Coach Jimbo Fisher indicated the move to keep King out was merely precautionary, though King has not exactly been lighting it up as starter either. With Max Johnson (hand) sidelined, it would appear King is not in danger of losing his starting job against Ole Miss next weekend, though Weigman would be next in line.
