TD reception against TCU
Richardson logged 17 carries for 66 yards and caught both of his targets for 18 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 42-17 loss versus TCU.
ANALYSIS
Richardson recorded his first touchdown reception of his collegiate career as the Bears were blown out by the Horned Frogs. Richardson has received 17 carries in each of his last two games which suggests he's the primary back when healthy. Baylor will finish the season against a good West Virginia defense.
Nov 12, 2023
Totals 97 yards in loss
Richardson tallied 17 carries for 89 yards and reeled in 1 of 2 targets for eight yards during Saturday's 59-25 defeat to Kansas State.
ANALYSIS
Richardson dominated the touches in the backfield, however, has yet to score a touchdown for the Bears. It's been a disappointing season for the Bears who will try to salvage any type of progress when they play at TCU next week.
Oct 8, 2023
Totaled 39 yards in loss
Richardson tallied nine rushes for 21 yards during Saturday's 39-14 defeat versus Texas Tech. He also caught two of three targets for 18 yards.
ANALYSIS
Richardson was the primary back in the loss to Texas Tech, however, he's starting to get pushed by back-up Dawson Pendergrass who saw some success in the passing game against the Red Raiders. Meanwhile, Richard Reese had just four carries for four yards. Baylor's offensive line is struggling to block opponents at the moment which makes it tough to trust the Baylor running backs for fantasy purposes. Baylor will be on a bye before playing at Cincinnati in Week 8.
Oct 2, 2023
Logs 10 carries
Richardson logged 10 carries and two receptions for 63 all-purpose yards (37 rushing and 26 receiving) during Baylor's 36-35 win Saturday at Central Florida.
ANALYSIS
According to Michael Haag of WacoTrib Sports Dept, Richardson has a high ankle sprain and been getting limited carries as he gets back to speed. Though injured and limited, the latter is a vague description, as his 10 carries beg to differ. When fully healthy and unrestricted though, Richardson is expected to excel far more than how he played Saturday.
Sep 24, 2023
Minimal production against Texas
Richardson posted six rushes for four yards during Saturday's 38-6 defeat to Texas. He also recorded three catches (on four targets) for 16 yards.
ANALYSIS
Richardson returned from an ankle injury, however, with minimal success as Texas shut down the Baylor offense all night. Teammate Richard Reese also saw limited production with just eight yards on three carries. The run-game should be more productive at UCF next week, but it will be hard to predict which back will have the most success.
Sep 16, 2023
Suffers high ankle sprain
Richardson suffered a high ankle sprain and is unlikely to play in Week 3, Zach Smith of the Waco Tribune Herald reports.
ANALYSIS
Richardson didn't suit up in Week 3, and he reportedly has missed plenty of practice time. It's now been cleared up that the halfback is dealing with a high ankle sprain, and he seems unlikely to be available for Baylor's game next week against Texas.
Sep 16, 2023
Out Saturday versus Long Island
Richardson (undisclosed) will miss Saturday's game versus Long Island, Michael Haag of the Baylor Lariat reports.
ANALYSIS
After receiving 30 total carries in the first two games of the season, Richardson will not play Saturday versus Long Island. With his absence Richard Reese is expected to lead the backfield and Bryson Washington and Dawson Pendergrass should see an increased workload as well.
Sep 9, 2023
Appears to be primary back
Richardson tallied 14 rushes for 77 yards and reeled in all two targets for 15 yards during Saturday's 20-13 loss against Utah.
ANALYSIS
Richardson received the bulk of the workload in the backfield for the second consecutive week. This likely means he is the primary back instead of Richard Reese who had seven carries for 21 yards. Baylor will play an easier defense in LIU next week. Expect both backs to have productive performances.
Sep 3, 2023
Totals 97 yards in debut
Richardson totaled 16 rushes for 79 yards and reeled in 2 of 3 targets for 18 yards during Saturday's 42-31 defeat versus Texas State.
ANALYSIS
Richardson led the way in the backfield with his new team as co-starter Richard Reese had just seven carries for 14 yards. It was a disappointing day for the Bears and it won't get any easier next week as they host a great Utah team.
Aug 28, 2023
Deemed co-starter on depth chart
Richardson is listed as a co-starter on the opening depth chart alongside Richard Reese, source reports.
ANALYSIS
Richardson figured to be in the mix for carries with the Bears after making the move from Oklahoma State in the offseason. While he'll likely share carries with Richard Reese in 2023, the two should still each get a sizable share of totes.
Dec 22, 2022

ANALYSIS
Richardson will have one year of eligibility with the Bears. Richardson played in 26 games across three seasons for Oklahoma State.

Richardson (undisclosed) is present for warmups ahead of Saturday's game against West Virginia, Cody Nagel of 247Sports.com
ANALYSIS
Richardson was considered a game-time decision as of Saturday morning but he is going through warmups, which is an encouraging sign. He was unable to go against Oklahoma in Week 12.
Nov 26, 2022
Game-time call Saturday
Richardson (undisclosed) is a game-time decision for Saturday's game against West Virginia,Cody Nagel of 247Sports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Richardson was out for Bedlam and it remains to be seen if he will play in the regular season finale. If he's unable to go, Jaden Nixon and Ollie Gordon would be the primary backs.
Nov 19, 2022
Not warming up Saturday
Richardson (undisclosed) is absent from warmups ahead of Saturday's game versus Oklahoma, Cody Nagel of 247Sports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Richardson was limited in practice this week and seems unlikely to play Saturday. Jaden Nixon and Ollie Gordon should receive extended workloads in his absence. Richardson's next chance to play will be next Saturday's game against West Virginia.
Nov 19, 2022
Status uncertain for Bedlam
Richardson (undisclosed) was limited in practice during the week and his status is uncertain for Saturday's game against Oklahoma,Scott Wright of The Oklahoman reports.
ANALYSIS
Richardson's status is up in the air heading into Bedlam. His participation level in pregame warmups will be telling ahead of the 7:30 Eastern kickoff. Jaden Nixon and Deondre Jackson project as the next backs up if Richardson is unable to go.
Nov 13, 2022
Limited to 2.9 yards per carry
Richardson had 14 rushes for 41 yards during Saturday's 20-14 win against Iowa State.
ANALYSIS
Richardson managed just 2.9 yards per carry against a tough Iowa State defense. After starting the season with a 5.3 yards per carry average in the Cowboys' first two games, Richardson has not been able to get over the 3.6 yard per carry mark in any other game. Oklahoma State's offense has struggled over the last month of so. It will be interesting to see what kind of offensive production occurs at Oklahoma next week.
Nov 12, 2022
Likely to play Saturday
Richardson is expected to play in Saturday's game against Iowa State, Cody Nagel of 247Sports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Richardson previously missed the Cowboys' blowout loss to Kansas State in Week 9, though he was able to return the following week and record 51 rushes on 14 carries against Kansas. The junior running back has totaled 502 yards and eight touchdowns on 135 carries to along with 22 receptions (on 27 targets) for 220 yards over eight games this season. Richardson's availability should provide a lot of stability for Oklahoma State's offense, which will be without starting quarterback Spencer Sanders (undisclosed) on Saturday.
Nov 6, 2022
Commands 15 touches in return
Richardson tallied 14 carries for 51 yards and gathered in 1 of 2 targets for two yards during Saturday's 37-16 loss versus Kansas.
ANALYSIS
Richardson saw 15 total touches which is encouraging as he returns from an undisclosed injury. Unfortunately, the Oklahoma State offense is reeling without star quarterback Spencer Sanders (undisclosed) who did not play against Kansas. Richardson will go up against an even tougher defense in Iowa State next week, so proceed with caution.
Nov 5, 2022
Expected back Saturday
Richardson is probable for Saturday's game against Kansas, Cody Nagel of 247Sports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Oklahoma State is perilously shorthanded Saturday without starting quarterback Spencer Sanders among other key contributors, but at least Richardson is on track to suit up against the Jayhawks. Richardson missed the blowout loss to Kansas State but has otherwise been the engine of the Oklahoma State run game with 451 yards and eight scores through seven games.
Oct 29, 2022
Out against K-State
Richardson (undisclosed) will not play Saturday against Kansas State, Cody Nagel of 247Sports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
This is a big loss in the Oklahoma State backfield as Richardson far-and-away leads the 'Pokes backfield in carries with 121 while no other back has more than 22. Fellow running back Ollie Gordon is probable and Jaden Nixon now projects to be more involved against the Wildcats.
Oct 23, 2022
Three TD in first half
Richardson rushed for 24 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries while reeling in all four of his targets for six yards before leaving with an undisclosed injury in Saturday's 41-34 win over Texas.
ANALYSIS
Richardson was able to rack up a season-high three touchdowns in the first half against the Longhorns before leaving with an undisclosed injury. Back-ups Jaden Nixon and Ollie Gordon combined for 12 carries for 77 yards while replacing Richardson. Stay tuned for updates on Richardson's status going in to a game at Kansas State.
Oct 16, 2022
TD in three straight games
Richardson recorded 22 carries for 72 yards and one touchdown while reeling in 3 of 4 targets for 79 yards during Saturday's 43-40 overtime loss to TCU.
ANALYSIS
Richardson recorded a touchdown in his third straight game and has scored in five of six games this year. He has dominated the carries in the backfield with 48 percent of the team's carries. The only problem for fantasy managers is quarterback Spencer Sanders who has commanded 31 percent of the carries and has eight rushing touchdowns on the season. This has limited Richardson's upside and is the primary reason he has been capped at a single touchdown when scoring. Regardless, Richardson is receiving heavy volume and should remain in line-ups versus Texas next week.
Oct 8, 2022
Adds score against Red Raiders
Richardson rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries to go along with a pair of catches for 24 yards in Saturday's 41-31 win over Texas Tech.
ANALYSIS
Richardson has a touchdown in four of five games this season. This number could be a lot greater if not for quarterback Spencer Sanders who is having himself a year on the ground with six rushing scores. Nonetheless, Richardson is seeing decent volume with 17.2 rushing attempts and 2.8 receptions per game. This suggests that more touchdowns are coming, so stay patient. Oklahoma State will have an exciting match-up with TCU next week.
Oct 1, 2022
Totals 91 yards and TD in win
Richardson rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries while also grabbing four catches for 18 yards in Saturday's 36-25 win at Baylor.
ANALYSIS
Richardson's 3.0 yards per carry was nothing to write home about, but he's seeing plenty of volume when Oklahoma State goes up against Power Five opponents. He does have a touchdown in three of four games and should be a strong play against Texas Tech next week.
Sep 18, 2022
Not needed in blowout win
Richardson rushed for 23 yards on seven carries while also nabbing two catches for 39 yards in Saturday's 63-7 win over Arkansas Pine-Bluff.
ANALYSIS
Richardson did not need to fill his typical workhorse role as the Cowboys rolled over their inferior opponent. The lead back also had his first lost fumble of the year which made it easier for the coaching staff to see what they have with their reserve backs. Richardson should be back to his usual role when the Cowboys come back from a bye week to play at Baylor on Oct. 1.
Sep 10, 2022
Impactful performance against ASU
Richardson rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown on a career-high 27 carries while also reeling in five of six targets for 44 yards in Saturday's 34-17 win over Arizona State.
ANALYSIS
Richardson was a true workhorse running back against the Sun Devils. Some fantasy managers may have been worried about his 10 total touches in his first game, but the performance against Arizona State should have them worried no longer. Expect him to keep chugging out yards against Arkansas-Pine Bluff next week.
Sep 3, 2022
Notches TD in season-opener
Richardson rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown on nine carries while catching his only target for eight yards in Thursday's 58-44 win over Central Michigan.
ANALYSIS
Richardson was effective on his limited touches but it was the quarterback Spencer Sanders who stole the show for the Cowboys while accounting for a career-high six touchdowns. Sanders was the leader out of the backfield with 11 carries for 57 yards and two scores. This will be a trend to watch as the season progresses, however, Richardson still expects to be a workhorse in the Oklahoma State backfield this year. The Cowboys will host Arizona State next week.
Nov 20, 2021
22 touches against Red Raiders
Richardson rushed for 84 yards on a team-high 20 carries while catching two passes for 20 yards in Saturday's 23-0 win at Texas Tech.
ANALYSIS
Richardson received the bulk of the work in the backfield as Jaylen Warren was not fully healthy. Warren had 12 carries for 37 yards. Richardson could be a sneaky play against Oklahoma if Warren is still banged up.
Nov 14, 2021
100-yard rushing game in relief
Richardson rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries in Saturday's 63-17 win over TCU.
ANALYSIS
Richardson was able to record his second-career 100-yard rushing game after starter Jaylen Warren racked up 113 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries. The Cowboys had eight rushing touchdowns as a team in the easy win. Oklahoma State will play at Texas Tech next week.
Oct 31, 2021
Adds first TD of season against KU
Richardson rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries in Saturday's 55-3 win over Kansas.
ANALYSIS
Richardson received double-digit touches for the first time this season as Oklahoma State blew the game open against Kansas. The back-up running back was able to record his first score of the season. Oklahoma State will play at West Virginia next week.
Aug 26, 2021
Good to go for Week 1
Richardson (undisclosed) is listed as a co-starter to begin the 2021 season, Cody Nagel of 247Sports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Richardson missed some time in the spring for an undisclosed reason, but it all good to go. He was solid as a true freshman in 2020 and will hope to do more in 2021. Richardson is a co-starter with four other players.
Apr 24, 2021
Not dressed Saturday
Richardson is not dressed out for Saturday's spring game, Cody Nagel of 247Sports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
There wasn't an explanation provided as to why Richardson is not in pads as he's expected to hold a backup role in a loaded running back group for the Cowboys. He logged 44 carries for 223 yards and three touchdowns as a true freshman in 2020.
Dec 13, 2020
Big game at Baylor
Richardson rushed for 169 yards and three touchdowns on 23 carries in Saturday's 42-3 win at Baylor.
ANALYSIS
Richardson had his opportunity to shine and he took full advantage while averaging a glistening 7.3 yards per carry. The true freshman was given his first real chance for the Cowboys as he entered the game with just 14 carries for 40 yards. Considering the recent news of Chuba Hubbard opting out of the rest of the season and declaring for the NFL Draft, it makes sense that Oklahoma State would see what they have in the backfield. Both Dezmon Jackson and LD Brown will have senior eligibility next season, so it will be interesting to see if Richardson can get some significant volume in the bowl game.
