Undergoing surgery, out for season
Fagnano will undergo shoulder surgery and sit out UConn's 2023 season, Joe Arruda of the Hartford Courant reports.
ANALYSIS
Previously undisclosed, Fagnano's injury will cause him to end his 2023 season prematurely. The ex-Maine quarterback completed 18 of 35 passes for 173 yards and a 0:1 TD:INT ratio. Now that his 2023 season is done after he minimally logged multiple games, the Huskies will move forward with Ta'Quan Roberson under center.

Suffers mid-game injury
Fagnano suffered an undisclosed injury during UConn's 35-14 loss Saturday against Georgia State, Joe Arruda of the Hartford Courant reports.
ANALYSIS
The injury limited Fagnano to four completions and nine carries for 74 all-purpose yards (60 passing and 14 rushing) Saturday. So instead of him, Ta'Quan Roberson took most of UConn's snaps against Georgia State. For now, Fagnano is questionable as the Huskies prepare for Sept. 16, when they are scheduled to host Florida International.

Will start opener
Fagnano (calf) will start the season opener versus NC State, Brett McMurphy of WatchStadium.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Fagnano transferred to UConn from Maine this offseason, and the senior has apparently outdueled others in the competition to earn the starting nod. He completed 57.1 percent of his 364 pass attempts last season, amassing 2,231 yards and a 15:6 TD:INT ratio and added a bit of a threat on the ground, rushing for 296 yards and a trio of scores.

Set to miss a few days
Fagnano has sustained a minor calf strain which will hold him out of practice for a few days, Joe Arruda of the Hartford Courant reports.
ANALYSIS
Fagnano, who is expected to be UConn's backup option under center this season, will sit out of practice for a few days as he deals with a calf injury. The senior quarterback, who joined the Huskies after spending the last four seasons with Maine, appears likely to return well ahead of UConn's season opener on Aug. 31, against NC State.
