Plans to enter transfer portal
Morris plans to enter the transfer portal, Hayes Fawcett of On3.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Morris was enrolled at North Carolina State during 2022 and 2023, years in which he fared relatively well compared to most quarterbacks but remained limited. He never played more than five games both years yet still logged at least 700 scrimmage yards and seven touchdowns. Ideally for Morris, his next college is one that will maximize opportunities for him.

Split action in win
Morris completed 11 of 21 passes for 123 yards, one touchdown and one interception during Saturday's 20-6 win against Miami (FL). He also had six rushes for negative five yards.
ANALYSIS
After taking over the starting job Morris has seen the bulk of the action. However with the Wolfpack still having some struggles the team used packages to get both Morris and former starting quarterback Brennan Armstrong involved in the game.

Modest day in win
Morris was 11-for-20 passing for 138 yards and two touchdowns during Saturday's 24-17 victory versus Clemson. He also had six rushes for -16 yards.
ANALYSIS
Morris didn't do anything stellar on Saturday but got the job done as he threw two touchdown passes and didn't turn the ball over in route to stunning upset win over Clemson.

Held in check in loss
Morris completed 24 of 40 passes for 193 yards and one interception during Saturday's 24-3 defeat versus Duke. He also had 14 rushes for 38 yards.
ANALYSIS
Morris had a much tougher test this week in his second start since the Wolfpack benched Brennan Armstrong. Morris struggled at times with the tough Duke defense and things likely won't get easier as NC State will face off with Clemson next week.
Oct 9, 2023
Up and down day in win
Morris completed 17-of-32 passes for 262 yards with four touchdowns and three interceptions in Saturday's 48-41 win over Marshall.
ANALYSIS
Morris had a boom-or-bust day as he got the start for the first time on the season with the Wolfpack benching starter Brennan Armstrong. Morris will have a tougher test next week as he looks to be the starter again against a though Duke defense.
Oct 2, 2023
Taking over as starting quarterback
Morris is going to take over as starting quarterback going forward, 247Sports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Initially beginning North Carolina State's 2023 season as a backup, Morris will be promoted to starter following Brennan Armstrong's disappointing performance against Louisville during Week 5. Morris will have a relatively good opportunity to begin his 2023 campaign strong, with a home game scheduled against Marshall on Saturday.
Aug 17, 2023
Projected as backup
Morris is projected to be the Wolfpack's No. 2 quarterback going into their 2023 season, Michael Clark of 247Sports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
With the 2023 Wolfpack set on Virginia transfer Brennan Armstrong as their No. 1 quarterback, it was unclear if they would continue rolling with Morris as their primary backup. It appears Morris will maintain the same role he had during 2022, when he completed 42 passes for seven touchdowns and 648 yards across five games.

Staring Friday
Morris is listed as the starting quarterback for NC State's Mayo Bowl matchup against Maryland, Ethan McDowell of The Wolfpacker reports.
ANALYSIS
Morris hasn't suited up for a game since Nov.12 as he's been dealing with a lingering lower body injury. Over the last week, he's been progressing nicely, and he'll finally have the chance to showcase his ability for NC State's most important game of the year. Over five games with the Wolfpack, the freshman has been outstanding, throwing for 648 yards, seven touchdowns and only one interception.

Unable to give it a go Friday
Morris (lower body) has been ruled out for Friday's game against North Carolina, Pat Welter of WRAL News reports.
ANALYSIS
Morris entered Friday's contest as a game-time decision due to a lower-body issue, but it now sounds like Ben Finley is slated to start under center for the Wolfpack, while Jack Chambers could also handle rotational QB snaps, per Pete Thamel of ESPN.com.

Deemed GTD, will try warming up
Morris (lower body) is considered a game-time decision for Friday's game against North Carolina, Pete Thamel of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Morris missed the Wolfpack's Week 12 contest versus Louisville with a lower-body injury, after he had started under center in each of the team's three games prior. The freshman is expected to test his health during pregame warmups, but if he's eventually unable to gain medical clearance Friday, then fellow quarterbacks Ben Finley and Jack Chambers would likely rotate as NC State's primary pass thrower, per Pete Thamel of ESPN.com.

Not playing Saturday
Morris (undisclosed) will not play Saturday against Louisville, PackPride.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Both sides will be without their starting quarterbacks Saturday as Louisville is missing Malik Cunningham as well. Morris suffered the injury against Boston College and it remains to be seen who NC State will turn to, though Jack Chambers has the most starting experience this season among the available quarterbacks.
Nov 7, 2022
Providing spark in win
Morris completed 18-of-28 passes for 210 yards and three touchdowns. Morris added 19 carries for 43 yards in Saturday's 30-21 win over Wake Forest.
ANALYSIS
After the injury to Devin Leary, Jack Chambers took over at quarterback and struggled to bring much to the offense. Since taking over for Chambers late in the first quarter last week Morris has completed 67-percent of his passes for 475 yards and six touchdowns and has led the Wolfpack to back-to-back wins.
