Sets record in blowout
Fifita completed 30 of 41 passes for 527 yards, five touchdowns and one interception during Saturday's 59-23 victory versus Arizona State.
ANALYSIS
Fifita set a school record with his 529-yard performance, and the Wildcats had their way against the Sun Devils, who struggled on offense due to subpar play from Jaden Rashada. The bowl-bound Wildcats fell just short of the Pac-12 title game, but a few points in either direction in their three losses could have resulted in an unbeaten season.

Stellar outing in win
Fifita completed 22 of 30 passes for 253 yards and two touchdowns during Saturday's 42-18 win over Utah.
ANALYSIS
Thanks to Fifita, Arizona may be one of the best three-loss teams in the country. The freshman's spectacular play has kept Jayden de Laura on the bench, and he's the unquestioned quarterback of the present and future for the Wildcats.

Puts in strong performance
Fifita completed 25 of 32 pass attempts for 300 yards, three touchdowns and one interception during Saturday's 27-10 victory versus UCLA.
ANALYSIS
Fifita was certainly thrown into the fire when he became the team's starter five weeks ago. He has faced five ranked teams in his first five starts and has posted impressive stat lines in each game. This game was no different as the freshman quarterback again eclipsed 300 yards, had three scores, and had an outstanding completion percentage of 78.3%. Previous starterJayden de Laura is finally back from injury, but it seems as though Arizona will stick with the hot hand in Fifita for now.

Throws three touchdowns in win
Fifita was 25-for-32 passing for 275 yards, three touchdowns and one interception during Saturday's 27-24 victory versus Oregon State. He also had five rushes for -27 yards.
ANALYSIS
Fifita keeps rolling out the hits while a healthy Jayden de Laura sits on the sidelines. After the freshman put a dent in Oregon State's Pac-12 title hopes, it doesn't appear that he'll be giving up the starting gig anytime soon. Over four starts, Fifita has compiled 1152 yards, 11 touchdowns and just three interceptions.

Could potentially start
Fifta may start this week against Oregon State as Arizona decides between him and Jayden de Laura, Justin Spears of the Arizona Daily Star reports.
ANALYSIS
Fifta has played very well in place of de Laura as the later nurses an injury that's held him out of serious action since Week 4. Fifta has played very admirably in his stead, tossing for 877 yards, 8 touchdowns and two interceptions across his three starts. Still, Arizona head coach Jedd Fisch hasn't made a decision about who will trot out under center for the Wildcats come Saturday.

Massive total in blowout
Fifita was 34-for-43 passing for 342 yards during Saturday's 44-6 win versus Washington State.
ANALYSIS
While all of Arizona's scoring came from the runners, Fifita had a masterful outing. Over three starts, Fifita has 877 yards and eight touchdowns through the air, connecting on 73.5 percent of his passes. With every successful game for Fafita, Jayden de Laura's grip on the starting role loosens. We'll find out more when the Wildcats take on Oregon State in two weeks.

Shines in nail-biter
Fifita completed 25 of 35 passes for 303 yards, five touchdowns and one interception during Saturday's 43-41 overtime defeat to USC. He also had nine rushes for 12 yards.
ANALYSIS
Jayden de Laura's job probably isn't at risk, but Fafita was brilliant in the overtime loss. He rendered USC's defense ineffective in the first half, driving the team to 17 consecutive points. The true freshman looked incredibly comfortable and seasoned in the pocket, and he's going to be the quarterback of the future somewhere if not Arizona. On a night when NFL scouts were present, Fafita certainly impressed.
Oct 1, 2023
Solid performance in relief
Fifita completed 27 of 39 passes for 232 yards, three touchdowns and one interception during Saturday's 31-24 defeat versus Washington. He also had six rushes for 19 yards.
ANALYSIS
Jayden de Laura (calf) was unable to go, so Fifita got his first start of his career. No one wants to face a team like Washington in their first start, but Fifita played quite well under the circumstances. De Laura's job is safe, but Fifita kept things close with the Huskies and proved that he's a competent backup. The quarterback has three years of eligibility remaining, and a performance like this solidifies him as the quarterback-in-waiting or a valuable transfer candidate.

Finishes game after de Laura injury
Fifita completed 4 of 4 passes for 47 yards during Saturday's 21-20 victory over Stanford.
ANALYSIS
Fifita made no mistakes and did what he needed to do, finishing off the Cardinal while connecting on all of his targets. The Wildcats face an uphill battle against Washington in Week 5, and Fifita may be the starter if de Laura is unable to play.
