Injury not considered long-term
Head coach Tom Allen indicated Monday that Cooper's (undisclosed) injury is not considered long-term and is questionable for Saturday's matchup against Illinois, Jack Ankony of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Cooper left the game early against Wisconsin and was not able to return. With teammate Cam Camper (knee) out for the year, the Hoosiers will lean on the redshirt freshman to step up. The 6-foot-1 wide receiver has totaled 18 receptions for 267 yards and two touchdowns this season.

Heads to locker room

Catches another TD in Week 9
Cooper caught all three targets for 52 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 33-24 defeat to Penn State.
ANALYSIS
Cooper caught his second touchdown in as many weeks, as he hauled in one of the three passing touchdowns from the Hoosiers' new starting quarterback, Brendan Sorsby. The redshirt freshman hasn't been particularly featured in the Hoosiers offense this season, logging more than five targets just twice this season. Expect him to slot in as one of the team's starting wideouts if senior Cam Camper remains sidelined for the second week in a row this coming Saturday versus Wisconsin.

Catches early TD in loss
Cooper caught one of two targets for 35 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 31-14 loss to Rutgers.
ANALYSIS
Cooper reeled in his first touchdown catch of the season when the Hoosiers opened up with a touchdown in the first quarter. However, he tallied just one more target for the remainder of the game. Through seven games this season, the redshirt freshman has caught 14 passes (on 26 targets( for 203 yards, and almost exactly half of this production came in a Week 2 win over Indiana State. Cooper's production should once again fall to the wayside when the Scarlet Knights head on the road to Penn State in Week 9.

Leading receiver Week 2
Cooper hauled in seven of 10 targets for 101 yards during Friday's 41-7 victory versus Indiana State.
ANALYSIS
Cooper finished as the Hoosiers' leading receiver in Friday's rout, as he helped pick up the slack after senior wideout Cam Camper was forced out with a lower-body injury. The 6-foot-1 redshirt freshman turned heads during Indiana's training camp, and he's already logged more catches and targets than he did across four appearances in 2022. Cooper's apparently larger role in the offense this season could net him a healthy workload if Camper remains sidelined Week 3 versus Louisville, especially now that highly-touted quarterback Tayven Jackson was officially named Indiana's No. 1 quarterback after he went 18-for-21 passing for 236 yards Friday.

Making good impression in camp
Head coach Tom Allen relayed Wednesday that Cooper has stood out recently, Zach Osterman of The Indianapolis Star reports.
ANALYSIS
Cooper was reportedly vying for the slot role in the spring, so his standout play in fall practice bodes well for his chances of seeing some action this fall. The redshirt freshman totaled three targets over his four appearances for the Hoosiers last season but could be primed for a more regular role on offense in 2023.
