Gets in three carries Saturday
Brown compiled three rushes for six yards and caught their only target for two yards during Saturday's 35-16 victory against Virginia Tech.
ANALYSIS
Brown was initially expected to sit out Week 3, but he ended up entering the game for back-to-back carries in the second quarter followed by one final rushing attempt in the fourth quarter. The sophomore was similarly limited to just four carries in Week 2 while he continues to work his way back from a foot injury. Therefore, while he did make an appearance Saturday, it's likely that he'll once again see a limited workload if he suits up Week 4 against Michigan -- especially considering the recent effectiveness of running back Kyle Monangai, who rushed for 143 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries Saturday.

Won't play Saturday
Brow (foot) is out for Saturday's matchup with Virginia Tech.
ANALYSIS
Brown's still dealing with a foot injury that sidelined him in Rutgers' opener, though he did run for six yards and a touchdown on four carries last week against Temple. Kyle Monangai figures to lead the Scarlet Knights' rushing attack again while Brown's out.

Still dealing with injury
Brown said Wednesday that he's still working his way back into game shape, Chris Iseman of the Asbury Park Press reports.
ANALYSIS
After missing Rutgers' season opener with a foot injury, Brown was able to play in Saturday's game versus Temple. He logged four carries for yards and one touchdown to go along with one reception for 27 yards through the air. Brown should be good to go for this Saturday's matchup with Virginia Tech, but it appears that he will slowly be ramping up his workload.

Good to go Saturday
Brown (foot) isn't listed on the availability report ahead of Saturday's game versus Temple.
ANALYSIS
Brown returned to practice during the week and is apparently set to retake his spot atop the depth chart for Rutgers in the running back room. Bronw impressed in limited action last season, rushing 86 times for 374 yards and a trio of touchdowns in seven appearances, but he averaged nearly 20 totes a game and 81 rushing yards in his three games of 2022 before suffering a season-ending injury.

Returns to practice
Brown (foot) practiced this week ahead of Saturday's game versus Temple, Kristian Dyer of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Rutgers coach Greg Schiano said Brown could've played last week but wasn't needed. However, with a full week of practice under his belt, the sophomore running back appears likely to suit up for Saturday's matchup with Temple.

Expected to return soon
Brown (foot) is expected to return soon, Chris Iseman of the Asbury Park Press reports.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Greg Schiano noted after Sunday's game that Brown could have made a return if the circumstances aligned, but was ultimately not ready. Brown is expected to make his return to the playing field in the coming weeks, with Saturday, Sept. 9 being his closest return date. Ja'Shon Benjamin and Kyle Monangai led the Scarlet Knights ground game with a combined 34 carries for 95 yards in Sunday's 24-7 win over Northwestern.

Questionable for Week 1
Brown (foot) is questionable for Rutgers' game Sunday versus Northwestern, Pete Thamel of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown suffered a foot injury sometime between Rutgers' fall camp and upcoming game Sunday. Aaron Young (undisclosed) will sit out, so Kyle Monangai is the lead candidate for rushes if Brown must sit out the team's 2023 opener.

Full-go for training camp
Brown (lower body) will be a full-go for the start of Rutgers' training camp, according to Pat Lanni of NJ.com.
ANALYSIS
Brown sat out a good chunk of Rutgers' 2022 season with a lower-body injury. It affected him this spring and most of the summer, but Brown's latest update indicates he is healthy now after months of recovery. Presuming he goes through training camp without any problems, Brown is expected to be Rutgers' No. 1 running back when the team's 2023 season begins in September. While healthy, he logged 86 rushes and four receptions for three touchdowns and 391 all-purpose yards.

Out for season
Brown (lower-body) will miss the rest of the season, Chris Iseman of the Asbury Park Press reports.
ANALYSIS
It's unfortunate to see Brown go down with such a big injury as he worked very hard to put himself in the starting role and was playing at a high level. With Brown out, it may become a committee with Kyle Monangai and Aaron Young.

Notches first 100-yard performance
Brown rushed 28 times for 101 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 24-17 win over Indiana.
ANALYSIS
Brown logged career highs in carries and yards as he likely cemented his spot as Rutgers' No. 1 running back Saturday. The freshman also found the end zone for just the third time with a two-yard plunge in the third quarter. Brown has now compiled team highs in rushes (86), rushing yards (374) and rushing touchdowns over seven games in 2022.

Paces rushers in loss
Brown recorded 63 rushing yards on 16 carries during Friday's 14-13 loss to Nebraska. He also caught one pass for nine yards.
ANALYSIS
Brown led the Scarlet Knights' rushing corps in attempts and yards for the third straight week while presumptive starter Aaron Young (undisclosed) remained sidelined Friday. Fellow running backs Al-Shadee Salaam and Kyle Monangai totaled just 24 rushing yards on seven combined carries with zero catches. Brown has now totaled 192 yards on 41 touches (4.7 yard-average) over the past three weeks, and he appears to be set as the team's No. 1 back moving forward.

Carries rushing effort in loss
Brown rushed 15 times for 79 yards during Saturday's 49-10 loss to Ohio State.
ANALYSIS
Brown once again paced the Scarlet Knights' rushing rotation as presumptive No. 1 back Aaron Young (undisclosed) remained out in Week 5. The 220-pound freshman also averaged just above 5.0 yards per carry while finishing as the running back to outdistance Rutgers quarterbacks Evan Simon (six carries, six yards) and Noah Vedral (four carries, 10 yards) in the running game. After making almost no impact during the first three weeks of the season, Brown has now totaled 24 touches over the past two games.

Paces running back corps
Brown recorded 34 yards on six carries while adding three receptions for eight receiving yards during Saturday's 27-10 loss to Iowa.
ANALYSIS
Brown made the biggest all-around impact of any Scarlet Knights' running back in Saturday's losing effort, as this group averaged just 4.2 yards on 16 combined carries. Rutgers leaned into the passing game behind lone healthy quarterback Evan Simon (28-of-49 passing, 300 yards, 1:2 TD:INT ratio) after falling behind early against the Hawkeyes. Brown's fantasy value figures to remain limited while operating in a running-back-by-committee approach alongside Kyle Monangai (six carries, 25 yards) and Al-Shadee Salaam (four carries, eight yards).
