Lands at FCS school
Macon announced Dec. 21 via his personal Twitter account that he committed to FCS Alcorn State, joining the program as a transfer from Missouri.
ANALYSIS
Macon, a 5-foot-11 quarterback, left the Missouri program in late November following two seasons in Columbia. He qualified for a redshirt in 2021 and will thus take up to three years of eligibility with him to Alcorn State. Macon appeared in six games during his time with the Tigers, completing nine of 17 pass attempts for 143 yards and a touchdown while carrying 13 times for 50 yards and another score.

Enters transfer portal
Macon has announced his decision to enter the transfer portal, Dave Matter of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
ANALYSIS
Macon will reportedly look for opportunities with a new program following two seasons with Missouri. The redshirt freshman quarterback appeared in four games, throwing for 143 yards (9-of-17), one touchdown and zero interceptions.

Named Saturday's starter
Macon will be getting the start Saturday against Georgia in place of the injured Connor Bazelak, Dave Matter of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
ANALYSIS
Macon got the edge as the team's starter for Saturday, however, both he and Brady Cook will see action against the Bulldogs. Macon is a true freshman who has thrown just four passes this season and will now have the challenge of going up against one of the nation's top defenses. It's likely going to be a very conservative offensive gameplan for Missouri, leaving Macon and the rest of the offense without much desire to be added into any lineups.

Likely to play Saturday
Macon is expected to see the field Saturday against Georgia with Connor Bazelak (undisclosed) ruled out, Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Missouri has yet to name a starting quarterback for Sunday, but Macon and Tyler Cook are both expected to see the field. Macon has appeared in two games this season and has completed three of four passes for 69 yards and has two carries for eight yards and two total touchdowns.
