For this week’s best NFL picks, we are looking at NFL picks Week 8 that will find the best value bets while 6 teams are enjoying their bye week. Still, there are some exciting games with good betting opportunities.
NFL Picks Week 8 At-a-Glance
Our NFL picks for Week 8 include the Colts trying to sweep the Titans, a defensive battle between the Texans and 49ers, and we shoot our shot on what Aaron Rodgers will do in likely his only NFL game against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night.
But let’s start with the Colts and that No. 1 offense led by Daniel Jones, the biggest surprise of the 2025 season so far.
Tennessee Titans vs. Indianapolis Colts (Colts -14)
The Indianapolis Colts (6-1) have the best record in the NFL in large part to having the No. 1 offense behind quarterback Daniel Jones. No one saw this coming, but they have a very good coach in Shane Steichen, and he’s getting the most out of a strong line, Jonathan Taylor, and a great rookie tight end in Tyler Warren.
The Colts are loaded offensively, while the Titans are struggling to find any help for rookie Cam Ward, who coughed up another unforced fumble for a touchdown last week. The Titans already lost a 41-20 game at home to these Colts in Week 3, and it wouldn’t be surprising if the super-efficient Colts approached 40 points again in this game.
That’s why we like the over 47 points as the best pick in this division matchup instead of the huge spread, as the Colts haven’t been a 14-point favorite this early in the year since 2009. But we do trust that offense to deliver, while the Titans will put up some points too.
Expert Pick: Over 47 (-110) at BetMGM
San Francisco 49ers vs. Houston Texans (Texans -1.5)
The offense was ugly in prime time last week as the Texans lost 27-19 in Seattle in a game that wasn’t really that close. The 49ers beat Atlanta 20-10, but that was also a subpar game for quarterback Mac Jones, who is expected to start another week in place of Brock Purdy (toe).
But this is mentor (Kyle Shanahan) vs. mentee (DeMeco Ryans) as these coaching staffs know each other well. With the way C.J. Stroud is struggling behind his line in his new offense, it’s hard to trust him to score against the 49ers even without Nick Bosa and Fred Warner. Meanwhile, the Houston defense has played strongly despite the team’s poor record. They can make things hard on Jones, who didn’t even complete a pass to tight end George Kittle in his return game last week.
We’re going to bank on a game where neither teams get to 20 points and take our top pick for this matchup as the under 41.5 points.
Expert Pick: Under 41.5 (-110) at BetMGM
Green Bay Packers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (Steelers +3)
The Steelers (4-2) blew a golden opportunity in Cincinnati last week, losing a shootout with Joe Flacco. That doesn’t bode well for facing the Packers, the team with the best record (4-1-1) in the NFC. But Mike Tomlin is the king of losing the “small games” and playing up to the competition in matchups like this as a home underdog on Sunday night.
He also has Aaron Rodgers on his side, and we know Rodgers will be motivated to play well against the Packers, his original team. Rodgers unlocked his tight ends last week, and tight ends have given the Green Bay defense issues. We also know Jordan Love can make a bad turnover, and the Steelers will look to play better defense at home to complement the offense.
But Tomlin covers as a home dog almost 70% of the time, the best record in the NFL since 2007. This is exactly his kind of spot to surprise people who have turned on the Steelers after last week’s loss, so the Steelers covering the 3-point spread is our top pick, and don’t be surprised if they win outright. Green Bay’s already lost in Cleveland, tied in Dallas, and struggled in Arizona.
Expert Pick: Steelers +3 (-105) at BetMGM

For our NFL picks Week 8, our most anticipated game is Sunday night as we picked the Steelers to cover the spread against Green Bay. We also recommend the Colts and Titans to go over in points again like they did in Week 3, and we’re on the under in 49ers vs. Texans.
