Bullpen Game For Phillies
It looks like the Phillies will be riding with the bullpen for most of tonight’s game. They’ll start Orion Kerkering, but it’s more likely Kolby Allard will get most of the bulk.
Allard is a left-handed pitcher, which is ultimately why the Phillies are waiting to pitch him in this game.
The Mariners have Randy Arozarena and Cal Raleigh, who have destroyed lefties. Jorge Polanco has done the same. But if the Phillies can minimize his acting against those difficult hitters, they’ll be in a better position.
Many Fly Balls For Bryce Miller
Bryce Miller is the better pitcher in this game. That said, his numbers could weaken over the next month.
After all, Miller has allowed 39.5% of fly balls and has induced only 38.2% of ground balls. He’s also allowed a super high hard contact rate and hasn’t earned many swinging strikes against lefties.
The Phillies have some potential with their lineup which consists of four lefties that have knocked a .202 ISO.
