MLB Pick: Reds ML (-110) at Bet365
Cincinnati Reds vs. San Diego Padres
Monday, April 29, 2024 – 09:40 PM ET at Petco Park
There’s No Stopping Nick Lodolo
The Cincinnati Reds ace left-hander has a 2-0 record with a 2.12 ERA after facing his first 71 batters. He’s struck out 28.2% of batters and has added a .063 ISO and wOBA of .270.
Lodolo won’t have an easy task against the Padres’ offense, which is typically good against lefties. But he is no ordinary lefty. He’s also kept walks down to 5.6%, so traffic won’t get jammed on the base paths.
Don’t Trust Matt Waldron
Last season, Matt Waldron was bad against lefties after allowing a .187 ISO and wOBA of .348 to 85 lefties. This season, he’s held them to a .122 ISO and wOBA of .309 despite earning only 35.5% of ground balls. He’s also allowed 14.6% of walks to lefties.
Something’s got to give. With five lefties in the Cincinnati lineup, hitting a combined .236 ISO and wOBA of .357, the Reds have the edge in this game.
MLB Computer Pick
Consider backing the Reds at -110 MLB odds. Cincinnati might be on the road, but they’ve got the better matchups overall.
