The Padres haven’t found the most success with power against righties over the last 30 days. However, the lineup has still hit a wOBA of above .300 and has only struck out 18.2% of the time.
They’ll face Keider Montero of the Tigers, who has only added 22.4% of strikeouts over the last month. Montero is getting hit with many fly balls from lefties and has allowed a higher wOBA against righties.
The Padres have some room for success tonight.
Yu Darvish’s Return
The Padres finally have some excellent news with Yu Darvish. After missing months of starts, he’ll be on the mound tonight for San Diego. The veteran right-hander held his first 212 batters of the season to a .280 wOBA with 23.6% of strikeouts and just 5.7% of walks.
He’ll battle a Mariners lineup that has hit a wOBA of .297 with 26.9% of strikeouts and only 5.7% of walks against righties in the last month.
