Sent to Sacramento
The Giants optioned Wisely to Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
ANALYSIS
Wisely came up from the minors on July 3 and has since slashed .132/.233/.158 across 43 plate appearances. He'll now attempt to get back on track in Triple-A while Brandon Crawford (knee) comes back from the injured list to fill Wisely's roster spot.

Sits against southpaw
Wisely is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Tigers, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
The lefty-hitting Wisely will see his streak of nine consecutive starts at the keystone come to an end while David Villar mans second base in his stead as the Giants face off against southpaw Tarik Skubal. At least until Brandon Crawford (knee) returns from the injured list, Wisely should have a clear path to everyday playing time versus right-handers, and he was even included in the lineup in Sunday's 6-1 loss against the Nationals and southpaw MacKenzie Gore.

Getting regular burn at keystone
Wisely will start at second base and bat ninth in Monday's game against the Reds, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Wisely appears to have overtaken Casey Schmitt as the Giants' preferred option at the keystone with Thairo Estrada (hand) on the shelf; Wisely has now picked up five starts at second base over the past six contests. The Giants will have room for both rookies in the infield Monday, however, as Schmitt will start at shortstop while the lefty-hitting Brandon Crawford exits the lineup against Reds southpaw Brandon Williamson.

Back with Giants
Wisely was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento ahead of Monday's game against the Mariners, Danny Emerman of KNBR 680 San Francisco reports.
ANALYSIS
Wisely will take the roster spot of Thairo Estrada, who was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday with a fractured hand. Wisely provides the Giants with plenty of versatility, as he's drawn starts at second base, third, shortstop and in left and center field so far this season.

Optioned to Triple-A
Wisely was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday, Danny Emerman of KNBR 680 San Francisco reports.
ANALYSIS
Wisely will head back to Sacramento after Thairo Estrada (wrist) was activated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday. Wisely appeared in 24 games after being called up from Triple-A on May 1, producing a .231 average with two homers, four doubles, six RBI, five runs and two stolen bases over 65 at-bats over those contests. The 24-year-old has the ability to play both in the infield and outfield and will likely return to the major-league roster again later this summer.

Takes seat Saturday
Wisely isn't in the Giants' lineup Saturday against Baltimore, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
ANALYSIS
Wisely has logged a base hit in each of his last two games, but his .517 OPS over the last seven days will send him to the bench Saturday. Casey Schmitt will start at second base instead, allowing Brandon Crawford to start at short and bat ninth.

Takes seat against lefty
Wisely is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Pirates.
ANALYSIS
The lefty-hitting rookie has been serving as the primary replacement at second base for the injured Thairo Estrada (wrist) of late, but he'll take a seat for the series opener with Pittsburgh bringing southpaw Rich Hill to the mound. Casey Schmitt will check in for Wisely at the keystone.

Filling in for injured Estrada
Wisely will start at second base and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Brewers, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
For the sixth time in seven games, Wisely will be manning second base, and he looks like he'll have some leash as the Giants' main option at the position after Thairo Estrada (wrist) was moved to the injured list Saturday. The lefty-hitting Wisely could find himself on the bench against select southpaws, though he appears poised to remain at least a strong-side platoon player while Estrada is on the shelf.

Pops second homer
Wisely went 2-for-5 with a double, a three-run home run and a second run scored in Friday's 15-1 rout of the Brewers.
ANALYSIS
He took Freddy Peralta deep in the third inning as part of a seven-run frame for the Giants. Wisely's only other homer this season came May 6, and while his .240/.269/.420 slash line on the month is a step up from his seasonal numbers, and the 24-year-old utility player could pick up more playing time at the keystone if Thairo Estrada's sore wrist becomes a bigger issue.

Loses hold of regular role
Wisely is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
ANALYSIS
Wisely has been handling a near-everyday role for most of May while bouncing between second base and center field, but his time as a regular in the San Francisco lineup looks to be over now that the Giants have recently welcomed back Brandon Crawford and Mike Yastrzemski back from the injured list. The rookie will be on the bench for the third game in a row Wednesday.

Sitting Monday against Phillies
Wisely is out of the starting lineup for Monday's contest against the Phillies, Danny Emerman of KNBR 680 San Francisco reports.
ANALYSIS
Wisely will get a day of rest to open the series against the Phillies after going hitless in the three games against the Diamondbacks over eight at-bats. Casey Schmitt is starting at second base for the first time in his MLB career with Bryce Johnson hitting ninth and playing center field.

Hits first big-league homer
Wisely went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Brewers.
ANALYSIS
Wisely gave the Giants some insurance with his seventh-inning solo shot, which was his first big-league homer. He's hit safely in consecutive games for the first time as well, though he's still slashing an ugly .100/.129/.200 with two RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases through 32 plate appearances.
May 6, 2023
Notches first two steals
Wisely went 1-for-3 with a walk, two stolen bases and a run scored in Friday's 6-4 win over the Brewers.
ANALYSIS
Wisely has gotten into six games since he was added to the roster first for the Mexico Series and then as an injury replacement for Mike Yastrzemski (hamstring). His hit Friday was his first in that span, and a 1:4 BB:K is far from impressive, but he was able to notch his first two major-league steals. The utility man is batting .074 with one RBI and one run scored over 29 plate appearances while hitting near the bottom of the order when he draws into the lineup.

Sitting versus lefty
Wisely is not in the starting lineup Wednesday versus the Astros, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After going 0-for-6 while starting the first two games of the series, Wisely will head to the bench as the Giants face off with left-hander Framber Valdez on Wednesday. Austin Slater will replace him in center field and bat first in the series finale with Houston.

Recalled from Triple-A
Wisely was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento by the Giants on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Wisely was actually already with the club as the 27th man for their Mexico City series versus the Padres, but he'll now remain with the club as Mike Yastrzemski's (hamstring) replacement. He's starting in center field Monday.
Apr 29, 2023
Added for Mexico Series
The Giants added Wisely as the 27th man for the Mexico Series against the Padres, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Each team gets an extra bench player for the two-game series in Mexico City. The lefty-hitting utility player is slashing .304/.467/.500 with zero home runs and three steals in 12 games at Triple-A. Wisely is capable of playing both middle-infield positions as well as center field.

Optioned to Triple-A
Wisely was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento by the Giants on Monday, Danny Emerman of KNBR 680 San Francisco reports.
ANALYSIS
Wisely went 1-for-14 at the dish during his first stint in the big leagues. He's clearing out to make room for Mitch Haniger's return.
Apr 18, 2023
Recalled from Triple-A
Wisely was recalled Tuesday from Triple-A Sacramento, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
ANALYSIS
Wisely made the Opening Day roster out of Giants camp this spring before getting sent down after just one game. He'll get another look coming off a huge weekend showing for Sacramento, including a four-double game Sunday.
Apr 1, 2023
Bumped from roster
Wisely was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Wisely made the Opening Day roster but stuck around for just a single game. He appeared as a defensive replacement on Opening Day but now loses his spot to Bryce Johnson.

Makes roster after all
Wisely made the Giants' Opening Day roster, Danny Emerman of KNBR 680 San Francisco reports.
ANALYSIS
Wisely was initially told he wouldn't make the Opening Day roster, but the Giants' last-minute moves opened up a spot for the versatile infielder. The 23-year-old will open his major-league career as a bench bat, and it's unclear how long he might stick with the big club.
