The rookie shortstop took Cole Silseth deep in the second inning, giving the Phillies an early 4-0 lead in the rout. In back-to-back games Stott has produced his first career homer and first career steal, but he's still only slashing .160/.209/.222 through his first 26 MLB games.

Stott went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's 6-5 win over the Giants.

The steal was his first in the majors, while the multi-hit performance was his first since May 13. Stott has a miserable .143/.195/.169 slash line through his first 25 games in the big leagues, but with Jean Segura (finger) potentially out for the next three months, the rookie will be in the mix for playing time at second base.

Stott was added to the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Giants.

The 24-year-old has been out of the lineup in each of the last four games, but he'll be a late addition to Wednesday's lineup after Bryce Harper (forearm) was scratched. Stott is starting at shortstop and batting ninth.

Stott is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.

The Phillies handed Stott three consecutive starts from Wednesday through Friday, but the rookie went 0-for-9 over those contest to squander any hope he had of wresting the shortstop job from Johan Camargo while Didi Gregorius (knee) is on the shelf. Now slashing a lowly .114/.173/.129 through his first 75 plate appearances in the majors, Stott finds himself on the bench for the second game in a row.

Stott is out of the lineup for Monday's game in Atlanta.

Stott made four starts during the Phillies' recent six-game homestand but didn't take advantage of the opportunity, going 1-for-9 in Philadelphia to bring his season-long slash line to .131/.185/.148. The rookie will stick around with the big club while Didi Gregorius (knee) is on the shelf, but Johan Camargo may still be ahead of Stott in the pecking order for playing time at shortstop.

Stott will start at shortstop and bat eighth in Tuesday's game against the Padres.

Stott will be awarded his third start in four games, but he still looks like he may be stuck in a timeshare at shortstop with Johan Camargo until Didi Gregorius (knee) returns from the IL. The rookie recently turned in a career-best performance at the plate in Friday's 12-10 win over the Dodgers, going 2-for-3 with two walks, three RBI and two runs. In his first 13 big-league games, Stott hit .111 with two walks, four RBI and one run.

Stott isn't starting Thursday against the Dodgers.

Stott has gone 0-for-12 with a walk and six strikeouts over his last three games. He's started just once against a left-hander this season, and he'll get a breather for the second time in the last three games since southpaw Tyler Anderson is starting for the Dodgers on Thursday. Johan Camargo will start at shortstop and bat eighth.

Stott was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday.

Stott's strong spring earned him an Opening Day roster spot, but he struggled to a .133/.161/.167 line in 31 plate appearances and was demoted in late April. He's back again less than two weeks later with the Phillies needing another shortstop as Didi Gregorius (knee) hits the injured list. If part of Stott's struggles can be attributed to the fact the he was playing irregularly and bouncing around the infield, there's a case to be made that he'll look better this time around if he's given a temporary everyday role at his natural position of shortstop. Whether or not he'll actually have that role is unclear, however, as manager Joe Girardi may prefer veteran utility man Johan Camargo in that spot.

Stott was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Monday.

Stott earned an Opening Day roster spot following an impressive spring, but he failed to do enough to stick around. He hit .133/.161/.167 with a 32.3 percent strikeout rate in 31 trips to the plate and had fallen from favor to the point that he hadn't appeared in a game since last Tuesday. He'll get regular at-bats at the Triple-A level while awaiting his next chance in the majors, with Johan Camargo emerging as manager Joe Girardi's preferred utility infielder.

Stott remains out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Stott will stay on the bench for the fifth game in a row and appears to be clearly behind Alec Bohm for playing time at third base. Even with Didi Gregorius (hand) sidelined for the fourth straight game, Stott hasn't been able to crack the lineup at shortstop either, as Johan Camargo has served as Gregorius' primary replacement. If Gregorius avoids the injury list and rejoins the lineup at some point during the upcoming week, the Phillies could send Stott back to Triple-A Lehigh Valley to pick up some consistent at-bats.

Stott is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Stott had started in each of the Phillies' previous five games, making four of those starts at second base while going 2-for-19 at the plate. Primary second baseman Jean Segura (hand) is back in action after a three-game absence, while shortstop Didi Gregorius and third baseman Johan Camargo form the left side of the Phillies' infield. Entering the season, Stott appeared to be battling Alec Bohm for the primary job at the hot corner, but both look to be behind Camargo in the pecking order at the moment.

Stott will sit Monday against the Mets, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Stott and Alec Bohm have alternated starts at the hot corner through four games. Stott's previous day off came against lefty Cole Irvin, but he'll sit here against righty Taijuan Walker, suggesting the situation isn't necessarily a true platoon. It may take a few more games to get a full sense of how often the rookie will be in the lineup this season.

Stott isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Athletics, Jim Salisbury of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Stott went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in his major-league debut Friday, but he'll take a seat a day later. Alec Bohm will start at the hot corner and bat eighth.

Stott batted eighth and played third base in his Major League debut. The heralded prospect singled and scored in the sixth and added a RBI double in the eighth. After a monster spring, hitting .419/.514/.581, Stott was given the Opening Day start over Alec Bohm. The 24-year-old is capable of playing both middle infield positions and likely will find a way into the lineup, albeit at the bottom of the order.

Stott's contract was selected by the Phillies on Thursday.

Stott impressed in the minors last year, and he won a spot on the Opening Day roster by slashing .406/.513/.563 with a home run, two doubles, six runs and three RBI across 14 Grapefruit League appearances this spring. The 24-year-old has defensive versatility that will allow him to see time at third base, second base and shortstop early in the 2022 campaign.

Stott will break camp on the big-league roster, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Stott was competing for time at shortstop this spring but also emerged as a potential option at third base. After posting a 1.261 OPS with more walks than strikeouts in Grapefruit League action, the Phillies seemingly had no choice but to call him up. His expected role isn't totally clear, as third baseman Alec Bohm has also made the team, leaving the Phillies with seemingly one too many infielders. He and Bohm could potentially platoon at third, with the left-handed Stott seeing the majority of the starts in that setup, though he could also start in either middle infield spot to give veterans Didi Gregorius and Jean Segura the occasional day off.

Stott owns a ridiculous .480/.581/.680 line with a homer, two doubles and a 6:4 BB:K this spring.

He's been in competition for the starting shortstop role with Didi Gregorius, and while the veteran has had a credible spring himself, Stott's numbers are jumping off the page. While nothing official has come out yet, all signs point to Stott making the team. This comes after a big-time 2021 in which Stott rocketed from High-A to Triple-A and posted a composite .299/.390/.486 line across 112 games. If there's a note of caution here for fantasy managers, it's that Stott doesn't have big-time power or speed, so his value will largely hinge on his ability to deliver batting average, RBI and runs.

Stott is starting at third base and hitting eighth in Sunday's Grapefruit League game against the Blue Jays.

Stott has been in competition with Didi Gregorius for the starting shortstop role in camp. However, he'll now get a look at the hot corner, where Alec Bohm is currently penciled into the starting lineup. Stott has appeared in only seven games at third base during his pro career, so this could just be an exercise to get him more reps at the position in case of an injury. Though he's in camp as a non-roster invitee, Stott has reached base in seven of his 13 plate appearances this spring.

Manager Joe Girardi said Sunday that Stott will compete with Didi Gregorius for the starting job at shortstop during spring training, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Stott isn't on the 40-man roster but receive an invite to big-league camp, and he'll apparently have a chance to secure a starting job outright. Gregorius is under contract for $14.5 million and should be the favorite to start, but the veteran is coming off a poor season in 2021. The Phillies seem likely to bring up Stott for his major-league debut later in the season, though there's a small chance he unseats Gregorius and opens 2022 as the starter.

Stott was invited to the Phillies' big-league camp Saturday, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Stott looks like the shortstop of the future in Philadelphia, as he's coming off a year in which he hit .299/.390/.486 across the three highest levels of the minors before posting a .318/.445/.489 line in the Arizona Fall League. He may not get full consideration to break camp with the team, which could use the fact that he's only played 10 Triple-A games to justify keeping him in the minors long enough to delay his free agency by a year, but he's likely to spend a substantial portion of the season in the majors. He may not be as exciting of a fantasy option as you'd expect given his prospect pedigree, however, as his appeal is based more on the fact that he's roughly average at all facets of his game rather than any one standout tool.

Stott has hit .320/.450/.493 with 20 walks against just 12 strikeouts through 21 games in the Arizona Fall League.

Stott is an interesting but fringy prospect, as he might not have quite a good enough glove to stick at shortstop and may not have quite a good enough bat to profile as an everyday player elsewhere. There's a chance he's good enough on both sides of the ball, however, giving the Phillies a capable everyday shortstop for years to come. His fall numbers cap a strong season for the 24-year-old, who hit .299/.390/.486 with 16 homers and 10 steals across the three highest levels of the minors. Just 10 of those games came at Triple-A, so he may be a long shot to crack the Opening Day roster, but if the Phillies don't acquire anyone better than Didi Gregorius at shortstop this winter it could be a sign that they expect Stott to take over sooner rather than later.

The Phillies promoted Stott from Double-A Reading to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Wednesday.

Stott will join the Triple-A affiliate for the final week of the regular season along with two of the Phillies' other more highly regarded prospects in catcher Logan O'Toole and right-handed pitcher Francisco Morales. Over 351 plate appearances at Double-A this season, the 23-year-old shortstop slashed .301/.368/.481 with 10 home runs and six stolen bases.

Stott has been promoted to Double-A Reading, Tom Housenick of The Morning Call reports.

Scott got off to a strong start this season with High-A Jersey Shore, slashing .288/.453/.548 with five homers and 10 RBI across 95 plate appearances. His solid play has earned him a promotion to Double-A Reading, where he will debut Tuesday.

Stott will join the Phillies at spring training as part of the team's minor-league mini-camp.

Stott won't technically be part of big-league camp but will get to be around the major-league team for a few weeks. He's still a year or two away from joining the team on a permanent basis, however, as he's played just 48 professional games, none of which have come in full-season ball.
