Elbow surgery to remove bone spur
Lindor underwent surgery Tuesday to remove a bone spur from his right elbow, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
It's not clear how long the elbow had been an issue for Lindor, but he is expected to be fully ready for the beginning of spring training. The veteran shortstop had his first-ever 30-30 season in 2023, hitting 31 home runs and stealing 31 bases while slashing .254/.336/.470.
Sep 28, 2023
Huge day in twin bill
Lindor went 4-for-7 with two walks, three home runs and six RBI across both games of Wednesday's doubleheader split with the Marlins.
ANALYSIS
The shortstop took Braxton Garrett deep for a two-run shot in the matinee as the Mets romped to an 11-2 victory before accounting for his team's only offense in the nightcap with solo shots off Johnny Cueto in the second and fourth innings. The power display has given Lindor his first 30-homer season since 2019 as well as his first career 30-30 campaign, and he needs just four more RBI over New York's final four games to add his second straight 100-RBI season to his ledger as well.
Sep 22, 2023
First 30-steal campaign
Lindor went 2-for-4 with a run scored and two stolen bases in Thursday's loss to the Phillies.
ANALYSIS
The shortstop's bat has slowed down in September -- Lindor's slashing .257/.325/.392 through 83 plate appearances -- but he's remained busy on the basepaths with four steals in his last four games, giving him 30 in a season for the first time in his career. Lindor still has an outside shot at a 30-30 campaign, but he would need four homers in the Mets' final nine contests to pull it off.

Nabs steal No. 25
Lindor went 1-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base in Friday's 2-1 win over the Mariners.
ANALYSIS
The shortstop scored the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning, poking a leadoff single before stealing his 25th bag of the season and coming home on a Daniel Vogelbach hit. Lindor has now tied his career high in stolen bases, a mark he initial set in 2018 with Cleveland, and since the beginning of August he's slashing .303/.367/.440 with three homers, eight steals, 14 RBI and 21 runs in 28 games.
Aug 26, 2023
Hit streak goes to 11
Lindor went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 3-1 loss to the Angels.
ANALYSIS
He supplied the Mets' only offense by taking Patrick Sandoval deep in the third inning. Lindor also extended his hitting streak to 11 games in the process, a stretch in which he's slashing .386/.438/.614 with two homers, three steals, nine RBI and 11 runs. The shortstop is now creeping closer to his first 30-homer campaign since 2019 and first in a New York uniform -- he's six away, with 33 games left on the Mets' schedule.
Aug 22, 2023
Homers, extends hit streak to eight
Lindor went 2-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored in Monday's 10-4 victory over Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Lindor remained locked in at the plate Monday, extending his hitting streak to eight games with a fifth inning single and later adding a three-run homer to extend New York's lead to 10-4 in the sixth. The 29-year-old switch hitter registered three batted balls with exit velocities over 100 mph, including a flyout to the center field fence in the first inning. During Lindor's hitting streak, he's batting .400 (14-for-35) with one home run, eight RBI, nine runs scored and two stolen bases.
Aug 19, 2023
Nabs four hits, steals home
Lindor went 4-for-5 with one double, one RBI, three runs scored and one steal in Saturday's 13-2 victory over the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
Lindor extended his hit streak to six games Saturday, tallying four hits and scoring thrice. One of his three runs scored came in the first inning when he stole home on Miles Mikolas. Over his last 19 appearances, Lindor is batting 28-for-74 (.378) with 17 runs scored, 13 RBI and four stolen bases.
Aug 15, 2023
Hits 20-20 mark in win
Lindor went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and a stolen base in Monday's 7-2 win over the Pirates.
ANALYSIS
With his steal Monday, Lindor reached the 20-20 threshold for the third time in his career. The 29-year-old shortstop has heated up of late, going 20-for-55 (.364) with a 1.053 OPS over his last 15 games. Overall, Lindor is slashing .245/.333/.465 with 22 homers, 70 RBI and 74 runs scored across 502 plate appearances this season while going 20-for-22 on stolen base attempts.
Aug 12, 2023
Swipes 19th bag
Lindor went 0-for-4 with a stolen base in a 6-0 loss to Atlanta during the second game of Saturday's doubleheader.
ANALYSIS
The shortstop missed both Friday's contest and the first game of Saturday's twin bill after complaining of soreness on his right side, but an MRI came back negative and Lindor seemed to have no issues running in his return to action, beating out a potential double-play grounder in the first inning and then promptly stealing second base. Lindor is now one stolen base short of the third 20-20 campaign of his career, and his first as a Met -- his last came in 2019 with Cleveland.
Aug 12, 2023
Back in lineup Saturday
Lindor (side) is starting at shortstop and batting second in Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader against Atlanta, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lindor will make his return to the lineup after missing the opener Saturday with a side injury. The shortstop has gone 12-for-34 with a homer, two doubles, four RBI, seven runs and one stolen base over 10 games in August so far.
Aug 12, 2023
MRI results reassuring
Mets manager Buck Showalter said Saturday that Lindor's (side) MRI returned "pretty good news," Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Lindor has already been left out of the Mets' lineup for Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader, but Showalter noted the shortstop could still be available for the nightcap. Lindor is slashing .270/.375/.427 with three homers and nine RBI since the All-Star break.
Aug 11, 2023
Set for MRI on sore side
Lindor will undergo an MRI on Saturday after being scratched from Friday's lineup against Atlanta with right side soreness, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
ANALYSIS
Lindor had played every game so far this season, so it figured to be a potentially significant injury to keep him out of action Friday. Whether he will require a stint on the injured list will be determined after the imaging is done, but any sort of side injury has the possibility of causing a multi-week absence. Jonathan Arauz is covering shortstop in Lindor's absence Friday.
Aug 7, 2023
Swipes 18th bag
Lindor went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Sunday's loss to the Orioles.
ANALYSIS
The Mets got shut out, but Lindor still found a way to make a fantasy contribution. The shortstop has been dialed in over the last couple weeks, slashing .346/.424/.596 over the last 14 games with three of his 22 homers and three of his 18 steals on the season as he closes in on his first 20-20 campaign since 2019.
Aug 4, 2023
Slugs 22nd homer
Lindor went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's loss to the Royals.
ANALYSIS
He spoiled a combined shutout bid for the Kansas City staff by taking Jonathan Heasley deep in the ninth inning. It's Lindor's third homer in the last five games, and over his last 11 contests he's batting .310 (13-for-42). The 29-year-old's hot streak comes too late to save the Mets' season, but maybe not his own -- Lindor's slashing .235/.323/.464 through 465 plate appearances with 22 homers, 17 steals, 67 runs and 67 RBI.
Jul 31, 2023
Homers again
Lindor went 3-for-4 with one double, a solo home run and an additional run scored in Sunday's 5-2 win over Washington.
ANALYSIS
After going homerless for 15 straight games -- his longest drought of the season -- Lindor has launched a long ball in back-to-back games to bring his season total to 21. While leading all shortstops with 21 homers, Lindor is also slashing .236/.323/.464 with 17 steals through 105 games.
Jul 30, 2023
Belts homer No. 20
Lindor went 2-for-4 with a walk and a two-run home run in Saturday's 11-6 loss to the Nationals.
ANALYSIS
His fifth-inning shot off Patrick Corbin came too late for the Mets on Saturday, but it did snap a 15-game homer drought for Lindor. The shortstop has reached 20 home runs for the sixth straight full season, a streak only interrupted by the pandemic campaign, but his .231/.318/.451 slash line still falls well short of his production from his Cleveland heyday.
Jul 26, 2023
Swipes two bags in win
Lindor went 3-for-5 with a double, three runs scored and two stolen bases in Tuesday's 9-3 win over the Yankees.
ANALYSIS
The shortstop put together his first multi-hit performance since July 7, which was also the last time he swiped multiple bags or scored multiple runs in a game. In between those efforts, Lindor slashed a rough .125/.239/.150 in 11 contests as he continues to have trouble sustaining any momentum at the plate. On the season, he sports a mediocre .768 OPS, but Lindor does have 19 homers and 17 steals as he closes in on his first 20-20 campaign since 2019.
Jul 8, 2023
Stays hot Friday
Lindor went 3-for-5 with a home run, two stolen bases, three RBI, two runs scored and a walk in Friday's 7-5 extra-inning win over the Padres.
ANALYSIS
He's homered in consecutive contests and recorded a pair of multi-steal efforts over his last four games. Lindor is swinging a hot bat, going 10-for-24 (.417) through six contests in July. He's up to 19 homers, 13 thefts, 60 RBI and 56 runs scored through 88 contests. He's batting just .239 on the year, but his .805 OPS is more in line with his steady production across the board.
Jul 7, 2023
Huge performance Thursday
Lindor went 5-for-5 with a solo home run, two additional runs scored and two triples in Thursday's 9-0 win over the Diamondbacks.
ANALYSIS
Lindor racked up 12 total bases, though he fell a double short of the cycle after logging his second single of the game in the eighth inning. He'd posted four multi-hit efforts while batting. 268 over the previous 16 contests, but this was a career-best five-hit game for the shortstop. For the season, the 29-year-old is up to a .233/.316/.472 slash line with 18 homers, 57 RBI, 54 runs scored and 11 stolen bases through 87 contests.
Jul 5, 2023
Swipes two bags in win
Lindor went 1-for-3 with a walk, a double, two runs scored, an RBI and two stolen bases in Tuesday's 8-5 win over the Diamondbacks.
ANALYSIS
It's the first time this year Lindor's stolen multiple bags in a game. Over his last 12 games, the shortstop is slashing .293/.404/.561 with three homers, four steals, six RBI and nine runs as he continues his climb out of an early-season hole.
Jul 2, 2023
Continues to heat up
Lindor went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Giants.
ANALYSIS
The Mets only produced four hits on the afternoon, but three of them were third-inning solo shots as Lindor followed Francisco Alvarez and Brandon Nimmo in going yard off Anthony DeSclafani. Lindor has added more than 50 points to his OPS in the last couple weeks, slashing .304/.382/.674 over his last 13 games with five homers, three steals, 11 runs and 11 RBI.
Jun 28, 2023
Launches 16th homer
Lindor went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's win over the Brewers.
ANALYSIS
The shortstop took Julio Teheran deep in the fourth inning, one of four Mets long balls off the right-hander. Lindor has begun to look like his old self at the plate in June, and over his last 20 games he's slashing .277/.383/.615 with six of his 16 homers and five of his nine steals on the season
Jun 26, 2023
Belts 15th homer
Lindor went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Phillies.
ANALYSIS
He launched his 15th homer of the year off Zack Wheeler in the fifth inning, helping to build a lead the bullpen would squander in the eighth. Lindor is finally beginning to catch fire, going 8-for-24 (.333) over the last seven games with two doubles, three homers, six walks, three steals, seven runs and eight RBI, but on the season he still carries a tepid .749 OPS.
Jun 20, 2023
Knocks in five runs Monday
Lindor went 2-for-5 with a double, a home run, two total runs and five total RBI in Monday's 11-1 rout of the Astros.
ANALYSIS
Lindor had two big hits in the contest, belting a three-run homer to right field in the third inning and knocking a two-run double in the ninth. The five RBI were the second-most he has notched this season, trailing just his seven-RBI performance against Oakland in mid-April. Lindor has homered in two straight contests following a rough six-game stretch during which he went 1-for-17 with six strikeouts.
Jun 19, 2023
Celebrates Father's Day in style
Lindor went 1-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run, a second run scored and a stolen base in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
The shortstop missed his first start of the year Saturday after the birth of his second child, a healthy baby girl, early that morning. Sunday, Lindor returned to the starting nine and got the Mets on the board in the first frame by crushing a Matthew Liberatore fastball deep to left field. Lindor appears to be close to breaking out of his season-long malaise -- over his last 11 games he's batting just .212 (7-for-33), but that comes with two doubles, three homers, three steals and a 7:7 BB:K. The window for buying low on the 29-year-old could close soon.
Jun 17, 2023
Gets breather Saturday
Lindor isn't in the Mets' lineup Saturday against the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
Lindor will enjoy his first off day of the season Saturday after recording just one hit in his last five games. Luis Guillorme will take over at shortstop in Lindor's place and bat ninth.
Jun 12, 2023
Swipes sixth bag
Lindor went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Sunday's loss to the Pirates.
ANALYSIS
The Mets managed only three hits and one run on the day, but Lindor found a way to contribute a little value. The pilfer was his second in the last four games and sixth of the year, but the shortstop has struggled to find any kind of consistency on offense this season. Over the last month, Lindor is slashing just .205/.256/.402 in 28 games with six homers, two steals, 14 runs and 16 RBI.
Jun 10, 2023
Clubs 12th homer
Lindor went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Friday's loss to the Pirates.
ANALYSIS
The shortstop seems to have found his power stroke, as six of his 12 homers on the year have come in his last 17 games. Unfortunately, Lindor's luck on balls that stay in the park hasn't been as good. During that stretch, he's slashing just .200/.264/.492 with one steal, nine runs and 11 RBI.
Jun 7, 2023
Swats 11th homer
Lindor went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
He gave the Mets a 2-1 lead in the third inning by taking Bryce Elder deep. Lindor is flashing some power -- four of his 11 homers on the season have come in the last 10 games -- but little else is going right for him at the plate right now, as he's batting .154 (6-for-39) during that stretch to drag his OPS on the year down to a career-low .703.
Jun 4, 2023
Another miserable day at the plate
Lindor went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in Saturday's 2-1 loss against Toronto.
ANALYSIS
Lindor's cold spell continued Saturday, leaving him hitless in his last four games and 2-for-28 (.071) across his last seven. Though Lindor is only striking out at a 22.5 percent clip in 2023, he has been fanned five times in his last two games (eight at-bats). He will look to break out of the slump Sunday against lefty Yusei Kikuchi,
May 31, 2023
Launches homer No. 10
Lindor went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Phillies.
ANALYSIS
The shortstop took Ranger Suarez deep in the fourth inning, giving Kodai Senga and the Mets bullpen all the offense they would need on the night. Lindor has gone yard three times in the last four games, giving him 10 homers in 55 games, but his slash line remains a disappointing .227/.299/.435.
May 28, 2023
Pops solo shot
Lindor went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's 11-10 loss to the Rockies.
ANALYSIS
Lindor is getting his power back on track with three homers in his last seven contests following an 11-game spell between long balls. The shortstop has shown little else beyond some power lately, going 6-for-30 (.200) over his last seven games. For the season, he's at a .225/.295/.423 slash line with nine homers, 39 RBI, 32 runs scored and four stolen bases through 54 contests.
May 27, 2023
Crushes eighth homer
Lindor went 2-for-4 with one homer, four RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 5-2 win over Colorado.
ANALYSIS
Fantasy managers will hope this performance signals the start of a hot streak, as Lindor is currently in the midst of one of his weakest seasons at the plate. The former Guardian's on-base-percentage of .304 is far below his previous low mark of .322, which he set in 2021. The shortstop's .232 batting average is also approaching his career-low mark of .230, which he also set in 2021.
May 22, 2023
Launches seventh homer
Lindor went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader sweep of the Guardians.
ANALYSIS
After going 0-for-4 in the matinee, the shortstop got some revenge against his former club in the nightcap by spoiling Shane Bieber's shutout bid with a blast to left-center field in the sixth inning. Lindor is picking up the pace at the plate, and over the last 15 games he's slashing .277/.309/.431 with two of his seven homers on the year.
May 13, 2023
Drives in three to spark win
Lindor went 1-for-5 with three RBI in Friday's 3-2 win over the Nationals.
ANALYSIS
The shortstop accomplished one of the rarest feats in baseball, as he drove in three runs with a bases-loaded single -- with two outs and the count full in the sixth inning, Brandon Nimmo got a fantastic jump off first base and caught CJ Abrams napping after the Nats shortstop received the relay throw from center field. Lindor is finding ways to be productive, but his overall numbers remain a little sluggish. Through 12 games in May, he's slashing .234/.308/.383 with two homers, two steals, five runs and nine RBI.
May 10, 2023
Launches sixth homer
Lindor went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 7-6 loss to the Reds.
ANALYSIS
His eighth-inning shot off Alex Young nearly completed a Mets comeback from a 7-1 deficit, but the rally fell short. Lindor hasn't been able to sustain much momentum at the plate so far in 2023, and through the first nine games in May he's batting .242 (8-for-33) with two of his six homers on the year.
May 4, 2023
Crushes fifth homer
Lindor went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a loss to the Tigers during the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader.
ANALYSIS
His fifth-inning shot deep to left field off Joey Wentz gave the Mets a 5-4 lead, but Adam Ottavino coughed it up in the eighth. Lindor snapped a 13-game homer drought with the blast during which he's hit just .180 (9-for-50), so his bat may be emerging from its slumber. After a 1-for-4 performance in the nightcap, the shortstop is slashing .217/.321/.443 through 31 contests with five homers, four steals, 21 runs and 24 RBI.
May 2, 2023
Swipes two bags across twin bill
Lindor went 1-for-6 with two walks, two runs, an RBI and a stolen base over both games of a doubleheader versus Atlanta on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Lindor came into the contest with two steals on the campaign, and he doubled that amount with a theft in each contest of the twin bill. The shortstop also drew a walk in each game, snapping an eight-game stretch without taking a free pass. Lindor has been moderately productive so far this season, slashing .215/.325/.430 with four homers, 22 RBI, 20 runs, four thefts and a 13:32 BBK.
Apr 17, 2023
Goes deep again Sunday
Lindor finished 1-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and a stolen base in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Athletics.
ANALYSIS
Lindor took JP Sears deep in the sixth inning to put the Mets back up 2-1. It was his fourth long ball of the year and his third over the last four games. Lindor has now hit safely in nine of his last 10 games and is second in the National League with 16 RBI. He's sitting at a slash line of .246/.371/.561 to go with a remarkable .932 OPS through 16 games.
Apr 15, 2023
Smacks long grand slam in win
Lindor went 2-for-5 with one double, one homer, seven RBI and three runs scored in Friday's victory over the Athletics.
ANALYSIS
Lindor's 439-foot grand slam broke the game open, extending the lead to 6-0 in the top of the second inning. The star shortstop's seven RBI also set a new career-high. This game was a sight for sore eyes for fantasy managers, as the Puerto Rican native was only hitting .237 coming into this game. The speedy veteran will look to build on this effort, and re-establish himself as one of the more dangerous threats in the Mets' lineup.
Apr 13, 2023
Swats second homer
Lindor went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's win over the Padres.
ANALYSIS
The shortstop took Blake Snell deep in the third inning, tying the game at 2-2. Lindor has hit safely in six of the last seven games, and on the season he's slashing .227/.364/.455 with two homers, one steal, eight runs and eight RBI.
Apr 7, 2023
Big afternoon against Miami
Lindor went 1-for-3 with two walks, a two-run home run and a stolen base in Friday's 9-3 win over the Marlins.
ANALYSIS
The homer and steal were each the first of the season for Lindor. The shortstop came out of the gates slowly, but he's reached base six times in the last two games with two doubles, three runs and four RBI in addition to Friday's long ball and stolen base.
Apr 6, 2023
Productive in Wednesday's loss
Lindor went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored and two RBI in Wednesday's loss to the Brewers.
ANALYSIS
The shortstop put together his best performance on the young season, as he'd gone just 2-for-18 in the six games prior. Lindor is still looking for his first home run and first steal of 2023, but the counting stats will come as he continues to hit in the heart of the Mets' order.
Apr 3, 2023
Walks twice in blowout loss
Lindor went 0-for-1with a pair of walks in Monday's loss to Milwaukee.
ANALYSIS
The Mets were unable to get anything going against Freddy Peralta on Monday, but Lindor was at least able to reach twice with the free passes. The shortstop has posted a .381 on-base percentage over the first four games of 2023, but his .143 average and .214 slugging mark aren't exactly ideal in the small sample.
Mar 2, 2023
Slugs first spring homer
Lindor went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's Grapefruit League game against the Marlins.
ANALYSIS
The shortstop took Dylan Floro deep to right field in the third inning for his first homer of the spring. Lindor saw his numbers rise in his second season with the Mets last year as he drove in a career-high 107 RBI, but his .788 OPS was still a notch below the production he was flashing with Cleveland a few years ago. The 29-year-old should again hit in the heart of the Mets' order in 2023.
Feb 18, 2023
Played through appendix issue
Lindor had been dealing with discomfort dating back to August of 2021, but he's feeling better after undergoing an appendectomy in October, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
ANALYSIS
The discomfort evidently wasn't a major issue, though it reached a new level at the tail end of last season. Lindor's 125 wRC+ in September and October was a near match for his 128 mark over the rest of the year, so it doesn't look as though the pain showed up in his stats. It's possible that putting the problem behind him allows for even better numbers going forward, but it would probably be unwise to expect a significant different.
Sep 25, 2022
Trio of hits, runs, RBI
Lindor went 3-for-5 with a double, three runs and three RBI in a 13-4 win against the Athletics on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Lindor singled and scored in the third inning, doubled home two and scored in the fourth and singled home another run before scoring in the eighth. The 28-year-old extended his hit streak to 11 games with his fifth multi-hit performance during the stretch and is slashing a robust .316/.353/.526 with 11 extra-base hits in 23 contests this month.
Sep 21, 2022
Grand slam in win
Lindor went 2-for-4 with a grand slam, two runs and a walk in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Brewers.
ANALYSIS
Lindor singled and scored in the sixth inning before launching a grand slam off Taylor Rogers in the following frame. The shortstop has now gone deep 25 times this year and four times in his last 11 games. Since Sept. 6, Lindor has secured at least one hit in 13 out of his last 15 games, batting .317 with four homers, 13 RBI, 11 runs and a stolen base over that stretch.
Sep 13, 2022
Goes deep Monday
Lindor went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Monday's loss to the Cubs.
ANALYSIS
New York had trouble generating offense throughout the contest, but Lindor stayed hot with his third multi-hit effort over his past five games. He took Brandon Hughes deep in the ninth inning for his 23rd homer of the season, pushing his season RBI total to 92. That ties the career-high mark he established in 2018 while with Cleveland.
Sep 11, 2022
Contributes with three hits
Lindor went 3-for-5 with one double, one homer, two RBI and three runs scored in Saturday's win over Miami.
ANALYSIS
Lindor hit a solo homer off lefty reliever Andrew Nardi with two outs in the fifth. This blast ended a 21-game stretch without a home run for the shortstop. The 28-year-old has been better at putting the bat on the ball in his last 11 games with a .310 average and just six strikeouts over 42 at-bats.
Sep 2, 2022
Swipes bag in win
Lindor went 2-for-4 with one double, one RBI, one run scored and one steal in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Dodgers.
ANALYSIS
Lindor tallied an RBI double to tie the game in the sixth and followed that by stealing third and scoring on a sacrifice fly. The shortstop has been struggling during his last eight games with a .185 average and .222 slugging percentage in 27 at-bats. Furthermore, the 28-year-old is without a home run in his last 14 games.
Aug 26, 2022
Nabs 14th steal
Lindor went 0-for-2 with two walks, an RBI and a stolen base in Thursday's win over the Rockies.
ANALYSIS
He's reached base safely in 10 straight games, posting a .310/.370/.429 slash line over that stretch with a 4:5 BB:K. Lindor also has three steals during that stretch, giving him 14 on the year, and if he keeps up that pace on the basepaths down the stretch he'll have a shot at his third career 20-20 season, and his first since 2019.
Aug 20, 2022
Swipes 13th bag
Lindor went 3-for-5 with a run scored and a stolen base in Friday's 7-2 win over the Phillies.
ANALYSIS
The switch-hitting shortstop continues to rake, piling up three multi-hit performances over the last four games. Lindor's been en fuego since the All-Star break, slashing a blistering .366/.435/.564 over his last 27 games with 17 RBI and 23 runs, in addition to five of his 21 homers and three of his 13 steals on the season.

Lindor went 2-for-5 with one homer, one RBI, two runs scored and one steal in Wednesday's win over Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Lindor went back-to-back with Starling Marte in the first inning to give the Mets and early 2-0 lead. He later recorded a single and stole second base. The home run was Lindor's 21st on the season, and the steal his 12th. The shortstop has turned things around since the All-Star break, slashing .356/.436/.552 and has been a huge reason why the Mets have maintained their lead over the Braves in the NL East.
Aug 10, 2022
Productive in rout of Reds
Lindor went 2-for-3 with a walk, three runs scored and two RBI in Wednesday's 10-2 win over the Reds.
ANALYSIS
The shortstop extended his run-scoring streak to 13 games with another big performance. Over that stretch, Lindor is batting .417 (20-for-48) with four homers, 14 RBI and 16 runs, and perhaps the only disappointing thing about his recent surge is that he's only stolen one base. The 28-year-old now sports an .813 OPS on the season -- his highest mark since 2019, if he can maintain it.
Aug 9, 2022

Solo shot in loss
Lindor went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's loss against Washington.
ANALYSIS

Lindor is up to 19 home runs on the season after hitting homers in back-to-back games to start August. The short stop extended his hit streak to nine games after Tuesday's solo shot, a streak that includes four multi-hit performances. Lindor raised his batting average from .245 to .261 during that span.

ANALYSIS
The shortstop extended his current hitting streak to 11 games in the final contest before the All-Star break, while the steal was his 10th of the season. Lindor has seven career seasons with double-digit pilfers, and the only time he failed to reach that mark was in the shortened 2020 campaign.

Slugs 16th homer
Lindor went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run and a second run scored in Wednesday's 7-3 win over Atlanta.

Lindor has hit safely in seven straight games and gone yard in three of the last six, boosting his slash line on the year to .244/.317/.433 with 16 homers, nine steals, 52 runs and 64 RBI through 88 contests.
Jul 9, 2022

Lindor went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Marlins.
ANALYSIS
His towering blast off Steven Okert in the eighth inning gave the Mets their final gasp of offense on the night. Lindor is struggling again, batting only .226 (7-for-31) through the first eight games in July, and on the season the shortstop is slashing .240/.318/.417 with 14 homers, nine steals, 49 runs and 58 RBI through 83 contests.

Jun 25, 2022
Drives in four in Friday's win
Lindor went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run and four RBI in Friday's 5-3 win over the Marlins.
ANALYSIS
The shortstop connected on a solo shot off Sandy Alcantara in the first inning before providing the game-winning hit with a bases-loaded double in the sixth. Lindor is hitting only .212 (17-for-80) in June, but he's still been somewhat productive with four homers, a steal, seven runs and 14 RBI through 20 games.
Jun 19, 2022
Homers again Saturday
Lindor went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Marlins.
ANALYSIS
Lindor's third-inning blast off Marlins starter Braxton Garrett gave the Mets just enough of a lead for the win. The shortstop has homered in each of the last two games, though Saturday's blast paled in comparison to the 440-foot moonshot he launched Friday. He's up to 11 homers, 51 RBI, 43 runs scored, eight stolen bases and a .243/.324/.424 slash line through 66 contests this year.
Jun 18, 2022
Belts homer No. 10
Lindor went 1-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and four RBI in Friday's 10-4 win over the Marlins.
ANALYSIS
The shortstop took Pablo Lopez deep in the first inning for a three-run shot, setting the tone for the evening, and the 440-foot blast to straightaway center field was Lindor's longest yet as a Met. His numbers in June have been sluggish, as Lindor is slashing only .182/.246/.309 through 14 games on the month, but he's up to 10 homers, eight steals, 42 runs and 49 RBI on the season.

Playing through finger injury
Lindor (finger) is starting at shortstop and batting third Friday against the Dodgers.
ANALYSIS
Per Anthony DiComo of MLB.com, Lindor has a small fracture in his finger but it's something he can play through once the swelling went down. Even so, it's a little surprising he isn't in as the designated hitter, but perhaps that's a testament to how minor the fracture is.
Jun 2, 2022
Officially out Thursday
Lindor (finger) is not in Thursday's lineup against the Dodgers but is hoping to return Friday, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Lindor shut his hotel door on his right middle finger and has significant swelling. Even so, it sounds as if he will avoid a stint on the injured list. Luis Guillorme will shift over to shortstop and hit third in Lindor's absence, while J.D. Davis enters the lineup as the designated hitter and will hit eighth.
Jun 2, 2022
Dealing with finger injury
Lindor shut a hotel door on his finger and will likely not be in the lineup Thursday against the Dodgers, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
ANALYSIS
The freak injury came at a poor time for Lindor, as he has hit .375 with 20 RBI and 11 runs scored across his last 10 games. There's no word on the severity of the issue, but Luis Guillorme will presumably start at shortstop in Lindor's absence.
May 31, 2022
Swipes seventh bag
Lindor went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a stolen base in Monday's 13-5 win over the Nationals.
ANALYSIS

Over the six games that have followed, he's slashed .455/.500/1.000 with six extra-base hits, 14 RBI, 10 runs and a stolen base. He'll be in the lineup for Sunday's series finale, playing shortstop and batting third.

May 26, 2022

ANALYSIS

He has three home runs in his last 11 starts, also collecting 12 RBI and 13 runs scored in that span. Overall, Lindor has a .250/.337/.443 line across 205 plate appearances this season.
May 25, 2022
Homers, drives in six
Lindor went 2-for-6 with a home run, triple, two runs and six RBI in a 13-12 loss to San Francisco on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Lindor got going late with a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning, a two-run homer in the seventh and a bases-clearing triple followed by a run in a seven-run eighth. It was the 28-year-old's third multi-hit outing in his last six and his first with multiple extra-base hits since a two-homer game on April 15. The excellent performance raises Lindor's slash line to .244/.333/.419 with seven home runs, 30 runs and 32 RBI.
May 20, 2022
Crosses plate three times in win
Lindor went 2-for-3 with two walks and three runs scored in Thursday's extra-inning win over the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
The shortstop was a constant presence on the basepaths for the Mets, but Lindor's most important run came after he made the final out of the ninth inning, as he started the 10th as the phantom runner and came home on Pete Alonso's walkoff blast. Lindor has reached base in 12 of the last 13 games, and while he's batting only .234 (11-for-47) over that stretch, he's supplemented it with nine walks for a .356 OBP to go with two homers, two steals, seven RBI and 11 runs.
May 16, 2022
Pops sixth homer
Lindor went 1-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Mariners.
ANALYSIS
He took Robbie Ray deep in the first inning to get the Mets on the board. Lindor is having a rough May, going 8-for-53 (.151) through 14 games, but he's stayed productive with two of his six homers on the year, one steal, seven runs and eight RBI.
May 11, 2022
Swipes fourth bag
Lindor went 2-for-5 with a stolen base in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Nationals.
ANALYSIS
The shortstop delivered his first multi-hit performance since April 29, bookending a nine-game slump that saw him bat .139 (5-for-36). Lindor's .246/.326/.418 slash line is on a par with his disappointing numbers over the prior two seasons, but he's at least picked up the slack in the counting stats, adding five homers, four steals, 17 runs and 18 RBI through 31 games.
May 6, 2022
Belts fifth homer
Lindor went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Thursday's win over the Phillies.
ANALYSIS
The shortstop took James Norwood deep in the top of the ninth inning, kicking off a stunning rally from a 7-1 deficit. Lindor snapped a 13-game homer drought with the blast, a stretch during which he managed a poor .176/.246/.196 slash line. Despite the slump dragging his batting average down to .241, the 28-year-old still has five homers, three steals, 16 runs and 17 RBI through 28 contests.
Apr 21, 2022
Smacks fourth homer
Lindor went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs scored Thursday against the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Lindor got the Mets on the board by tallying his fourth home run of the season in the first inning. He reached base base in subsequent plate appearances with a pair of singles to record his fourth multi-hit effort in his last seven starts. Lindor appears to have put his disappointing 2021 campaign behind him, as he is hitting .308/.419/.615 with 12 runs scored and 10 RBI across 62 plate appearances early on in 2022.
Apr 20, 2022
Big day in twin bill
Lindor went 4-for-9 with two doubles, a run scored, two RBI and a stolen base across both games of Tuesday's doubleheader sweep of the Giants.
ANALYSIS
The shortstop played hero in the matinee, bringing home Brandon Nimmo for the winning run with a 10th-inning single, then Lindor scored the Mets' first run in a 3-1 win during the nightcap. The 28-year-old has regained his swagger to begin 2022 after a couple lackluster campaigns, slashing .310/.442/.619 through 12 games with three homers, three steals, nine RBI and 10 runs scored with a stellar 9:6 BB:K.
Apr 15, 2022

ANALYSIS

Apr 10, 2022
Homer, steal against Nats
Lindor went 1-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run and a stolen base in Sunday's loss to the Nationals.
ANALYSIS
The rest of the Mets' lineup couldn't get much going, but Lindor provided his fantasy managers with a tasty "combo meal" to close the first weekend of MLB action. Lindor's OPS is north of 1.000 in the early going as he looks to rebound after an underwhelming first season in Queens.
Apr 9, 2022
Confirmed in lineup
Lindor (face) will bat third and play shortstop Saturday against Washington.
ANALYSIS
Lindor left Friday's game after getting hit in the head by a pitch, but he avoided serious injury. He'll remain in the lineup and will look to improve on his slow start, which saw him go 1-for-6 with four strikeouts through his first two games.
Apr 9, 2022
Expects to play
Lindor (face) expects to be in the lineup Saturday against the Nationals, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Lindor was hit in the head by a pitch Friday and was forced to leave the game, but he cleared concussion protocol and his X-rays came back negative. His presence in the Mets' lineup should be confirmed soon once the team reveals its starting nine.
Apr 8, 2022
X-rays negative
Lindor underwent X-rays on his jaw that came back negative and cleared concussion protocols after exiting Friday's game against the Nationals.
ANALYSIS
Lindor was hit in the face by a pitch in the top of the fifth inning Friday, but he appears to have avoided a significant injury. The 28-year-old should be considered day-to-day ahead of Saturday's matchup against Washington, but if the Lindor misses any time, Luis Guillorme will likely fill in at shortstop.
Apr 8, 2022
Exits after HBP
Lindor was removed from Friday's game against the Nationals in the top of the fifth inning after being hit in the head by a pitch, Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
Lindor remained down for a few moments after being hit by the pitch, but he was walking and alert while being checked by trainers. While the exact nature of the issue isn't yet clear, he was replaced by Luis Guillorme, who entered the game as a pinch runner. Prior to Lindor's departure, he went 0-for-1 with a run, a walk and a strikeout. Whether he's available for Saturday's matchup against Washington remains to be seen.
Mar 25, 2022
Goes yard Thursday
Lindor went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, a home run, two runs scored and two RBI in Thursday's Grapefruit League game against the Marlins.
ANALYSIS
He went back-to-back with Mark Canha in the first inning off Will Stewart, giving Lindor his first homer of the spring. The shortstop has seen his offensive production plummet the last two seasons, as his .240/.327/.413 slash line over that stretch is a far cry from the .278/.342/.514 mark he put up the three years prior, but at 28 years old there's still reason to hope Lindor can bounce back to his previous level.
Sep 30, 2021
Hits grand slam for home run No. 20
Lindor went 1-for-4 with a grand slam and a walk in Thursday's 12-3 victory over Miami.
ANALYSIS
Lindor went deep during a six-run eighth inning for the Mets, connecting off Luis Madero to break things open at 10-3. It was Lindor's 20th home run of the season, and his third in the last five games. He's driven in eight runs during that stretch and is slashing a stellar .267/.359/.574 in the month of September.
Sep 29, 2021
Drives in three during twin bill
Lindor went a combined 2-for-7 with a home run, a walk and three RBI between both ends of Tuesday's doubleheader sweep of the Marlins.
ANALYSIS
Lindor led the charge for the Mets in the opening contest, connecting on his second home run in as many games when he took lefty reliever Steven Okert deep in the sixth inning. Though his first season in Queens hasn't come close to living up to expectations, Lindor is at least closing the campaign with the kind of production the Mets banked on when they handed him a $341 million contract in April. Through 25 September games, Lindor is slashing .258/.352/.559 with eight home runs and 21 RBI.
Sep 27, 2021
Launches early home run
Lindor went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 8-4 loss to the Brewers.
ANALYSIS
Lindor got the Mets on the board early with a solo home run off Freddy Peralta in the first inning. The long ball was the 27-year-old's only hit of the day and his first since he hit three against the Yankees in one game on Sept. 12. Lindor is not having the season he hoped for in his first year as a Met. All of his hitting statistics are down in comparison to past years. He's currently slashing .228/.322/.402 with 18 homers, 56 RBI, 69 runs scored, 10 steals and 55:90 BB:K over 494 plate appearances.
Sep 14, 2021
On base three times Monday
Lindor went 1-for-2 with two walks in Monday's 7-0 loss to the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
The Mets are finally seeing the player they thought they traded for in the offseason, although Lindor's turnaround might have come too late to salvage their playoff hopes. Over 13 games in September, the shortstop is slashing .283/.404/.717 with six homers, 14 RBI and 14 runs.
Sep 13, 2021
Completes homer hat trick
Lindor went 3-for-4 with three home runs, three runs, five RBI and a walk in a 7-6 victory over the Yankees on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Lindor powered the Mets offense Sunday with a three-run home run in the first inning and solo shots in the sixth and eighth with the latter proving to be the deciding run in the game. With the impressive feat against the Mets' archrivals, Lindor has finally been initiated into New York baseball given his dismal performance for much of the season. The electric shortstop has turned things around in September with a .273/.377/.727 slash line in 12 games this month, though Sunday's performance is responsible for a large portion of the recent success.
Sep 5, 2021
Pops 13th homer
Lindor went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, two walks and two total runs scored in Sunday's 13-6 win over Washington.
ANALYSIS
The shortstop sparked a six-run ninth inning for the Mets with his solo shot, which was his 13th homer of the year and his second in as many days after he went yard in Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader. Lindor hadn't homered prior to July 11 before rediscovering his power this weekend. The 27-year-old is slashing just .225/.316/.382 with 44 RBI, 56 runs scored and 10 stolen bases through 414 plate appearances overall.
Sep 5, 2021
Plays hero in Saturday matinee
Lindor went 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and four RBI in an 11-9 win over the Nationals during the first game of Saturday's doubleheader.
ANALYSIS
The shortstop bailed the Mets out after they squandered a 9-0 lead in the matinee, taking Kyle Finnegan deep for a game-winning two-run shot in the top of the ninth inning. Lindor's long ball was his 12th of the year and first since July 11, although he missed much of the intervening time with an oblique strain, and since returning to action he's slashing just .205/.200/.385 through 11 games.
Sep 4, 2021
Not starting night game
Lindor will sit for the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against Washington, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lindor looked great in the first game of the day, going 3-for-4 with a homer, four RBI and a pair of runs scored. He won't be asked to play two games in one day, with Jonathan Villar taking over at shortstop.
Aug 31, 2021
Sitting Tuesday night
Lindor is on the bench for Tuesday night's game against the Marlins.
ANALYSIS
Lindor went 0-for-3 with a walk in Tuesday afternoon's continuation of a suspended April game. In his last 10 contests, the switch-hitter is hitting .243 with three extra-base hits and four RBI. Javier Baez is playing shortstop, with Jonathan Villar moving to second base.
Aug 28, 2021
Swipes two bags in win
Lindor went 1-for-4 with a single and two stolen bases in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Nationals.
ANALYSIS
While Lindor's bat hasn't come around yet since his return from an oblique injury, the shortstop's legs appear to be just fine. The 27-year-old swiped bags nine and 10 Saturday night, while also smacking a base hit. If nothing else, the steals are a sign that the four-time All-Star is feeling A-OK after an extended stay on the injured list.
Aug 25, 2021
Retreats to bench
Lindor isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Lindor returned from the injured list Tuesday and went 0-for-4 in the series opener against San Francisco, but he'll head back to the bench as he's eased back into action. Javier Baez will shift to shortstop while Jonathan Villar enters the lineup at third base.
Aug 24, 2021
Activated from injured list
Lindor (oblique) was activated off the injured list Tuesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lindor had mentioned returning without a rehab assignment previously and he'll wind up doing just that, with his first game action in over a month coming at the big-league level. It's possible he's handled cautiously initially, but the Mets don't really have any time to waste, as they sit 6.5 games back in the NL East and seven games back of a Wild Card spot.
Aug 22, 2021
Expected back Tuesday
The Mets are hopeful that Lindor (oblique) will be ready to return from the 10-day injured list for Tuesday's game against the Giants, Justin Toscano of The Bergen Record reports.
ANALYSIS
The Mets entertained the idea of bringing Lindor back from the IL for Sunday's series finale with the Dodgers, but Rojas said at the recommendation of the team performance staff, the four-time All-Star was given some additional time to recover from the right oblique strain that has sidelined him since July 17. Assuming Lindor makes it through a pregame workout Tuesday no worse for the wear, he should draw back into the New York lineup for the series opener with San Francisco. When Lindor is activated, he'll slot in as the Mets' everyday shortstop, while Javier Baez shifts over to the keystone and Jeff McNeil moves over to third base.
Aug 21, 2021
Could return Sunday
Manager Luis Rojas said it's possible Lindor (oblique) is activated from the injured list Sunday, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Lindor will take live batting practice Saturday, and if all goes well he could be back in the lineup for Sunday's series finale in Los Angeles. He's been on the IL since July 17 with a right oblique strain. An update on Lindor's expected activation date figures to become available within the next day or so.
Aug 17, 2021
Faces live pitching
Lindor (oblique) hit against live pitching Tuesday, Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
Manager Luis Rojas said over the weekend that Lindor could return during the Mets' upcoming homestand, which begins Aug. 24, and facing live pitching is a good step toward making that a reality. The 27-year-old has been sidelined for a month by a strained oblique, but Rojas also indicated the shortstop may not require a rehab assignment before being activated.
Aug 15, 2021
Could return next week
Mets manager Luis Rojas said that Lindor (oblique) could be activated from the 10-day injured list when the team returns from its upcoming seven-game road trip that begins Monday, Justin Toscano of The Bergen Record reports. "There's a possibility," Rojas said, regarding Lindor's return for the start of the Mets' homestand next week.
ANALYSIS
Prior to Sunday's series finale with the Dodgers in Queens, Lindor appeared to complete a full workout that included batting practice and baserunning, per Toscano. Lindor will join the team for its road trip this week that includes a three-game set in San Francisco and a four-game set in Los Angeles, but he's not expected to be available for either of the team's series versus the Giants and Dodgers. For now, the 27-year-old appears likely to avoid a minor-league rehab assignment, as the Mets will presumably have him take part in simulated-game work during the road trip before reassessing his status for the homestand that begins Aug. 24. Once Lindor is reinstated from the IL, he'll take back everyday duties at shortstop and push one of J.D. Davis or Jonathan Villar into a bench role.
Aug 14, 2021
May skip rehab assignment
Lindor (oblique) is hoping to skip a rehab assignment once he's cleared for game action, Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
The Mets are reportedly open to the idea, though they've yet to fully decide on their plans. Lindor has been out for nearly a month with a right oblique strain, so skipping a rehab assignment would be somewhat unusual, but he's seemingly willing to take the risk with the Mets locked into a very tight playoff race.
Aug 11, 2021
Ramps up baseball activities
Lindor (oblique) took batting practice on the field and participated in fielding drills Wednesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lindor has been taking grounders since the end of July, but he resumed swinging late last week and took another step by hitting on the field Wednesday. The Mets view this week as important in the shortstop's recovery process, and the team remains hopeful that he'll return from the injured list prior to the end of the month.
Aug 7, 2021
Resumes swinging
Lindor (oblique) has resumed swinging recently, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Lindor participated in fielding work at the end of July, and it's encouraging that he's been able to pick up a bat. However, the 27-year-old said Saturday that he still doesn't have a timetable to return. He's been on the injured list for three weeks and initially carries a recovery timeline of 3-to-5 weeks, but he still isn't particularly close to rejoining the Mets.

Works out on field
Lindor (oblique) played catch and fielded grounders on the field Friday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
ANALYSIS
The news represents the first reports of baseball activity for Lindor since he hit the injured list back in mid-July. He's approximately two weeks into a 3-to-5 week recovery timeline as he works his way back from an oblique strain, so he should return sometime in early or mid-August. Javier Baez, acquired in a trade from the Cubs on Friday, will likely handle shortstop duties until his return.
Jul 17, 2021
Dealing with Grade 2 strain
Lindor's oblique strain is of the Grade 2 variety, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Lindor's injury is evidently a fairly substantial one. He doesn't have a clear timetable but is at least expected to return at some point this season. Luis Guillorme will get the first crack at replacing him at shortstop Saturday against the Pirates.
Jul 17, 2021
To IL with oblique strain
Lindor was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a right oblique strain, Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
This was the fear when he exited Friday's game with right side soreness. Given the nature of the injury, Lindor could return in late July or early August if all goes well. Travis Blankenhorn was recalled in a corresponding move. Luis Guillorme, Jonathan Villar and Jose Peraza could all see starts at shortstop in the short term.
Jul 16, 2021
Exits with side soreness
Lindor exited Friday's game against the Pirates with right side soreness, Justin Toscano of The Bergen Record reports.
ANALYSIS
Side soreness can sometimes lead to an oblique injury designation, but it sounds like he is day-to-day for now. He went 1-for-3 prior to exiting and was replaced by Luis Guillorme.
Jul 16, 2021
Exits with apparent injury
Lindor was removed from Friday's game against the Pirates due to an apparent right side injury, Justin Toscano of The Bergen Record reports.
ANALYSIS
Lindor appeared to reach for his right side after a swing in the top of the fifth inning, and he didn't immediately run toward first base when he grounded out in the at-bat. Luis Guillorme took his place at shortstop in the bottom of the fifth, and the severity of Lindor's injury isn't yet known. Prior to his departure, he went 1-for-3.
Jul 11, 2021
Blasts 11th homer
Lindor went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk in Sunday's 6-5 loss to Pittsburgh.
ANALYSIS
The shortstop opened the scoring with his 11th homer of the year coming in the first inning off Pittsburgh starter Chase De Jong. Lindor has gone yard twice in the last four games. He's struggled a bit in his first half-season as a Met, posting a .227/.326/.377 slash line with 36 RBI, 49 runs scored and eight stolen bases through 361 plate appearances. Sunday was just his fourth three-hit game of the year.
Jul 9, 2021
Swats grand slam
Lindor went 1-for-3 with a grand slam, a walk and two total runs scored in Friday's 13-4 win over Pittsburgh.
ANALYSIS
The shortstop put an exclamation point on the Mets' 10-run sixth inning with his grand slam. Lindor is up to 10 home runs, 34 RBI, 47 runs scored and eight stolen bases through 84 games this year. Despite reasonable counting stats, he's posted a disappointing .221/.320/.366 slash line. His homer Friday was his first since June 23, a span of 14 games.
Jul 4, 2021
Swipes bag, drives in two
Lindor went 2-for-3 with two RBI, a walk and a steal in a win over the Yankees in Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader.
ANALYSIS
Lindor knocked RBI singles in the fourth and seventh innings and also stole his eighth base of the season. The struggling superstar seems to be turning things around, going 11-for-39 (.282) with eight RBI and five multi-hit games over his last 11 appearances. Still, he's slashing just .222/.318/.363 with 21 extra-base hits this season.
Jun 24, 2021
Mashes ninth homer
Lindor went 2-for-4 with a walk, a home run, two runs scored and three RBI in Wednesday's 7-3 win over Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
After going 2-for-16 over his prior five games, Lindor showed another flicker of his Cleveland form. The shortstop has yet to put together a sustained hot streak for the Mets but June has been his best month so far, as he's slashing .256/.337/.500 through 23 games with five of his nine homers on the season.
Jun 19, 2021
Belts two long balls in Game 1
Lindor went 3-for-5 with a pair of two-run homers and an RBI single in the 5-1 win over the Nationals in Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader.
ANALYSIS
Lindor broke out of a 0-for-11 stretch in a big way during the first half of the twin bill, knocking in each of the club's five runs. He took Joe Ross deep with a runner on in the first and fifth innings, while also mixing in a third-inning RBI single. It marked the shortstop's first multi-homer performance in a Mets uniform and just his second three-hit outing on the campaign.
Jun 12, 2021
Swats sixth homer
Lindor went 1-for-3 with a walk, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Padres.
ANALYSIS
His first-inning blast off Joe Musgrove gave Marcus Stroman and the Mets bullpen all the offense they would need. Lindor seems to have found a groove at the plate, batting .314 (16-for-51) over the last 13 games with seven extra-base hits, including three of his six homers on the season.
Jun 6, 2021
Homer, double in win
Lindor went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, double, an additional run and three strikeouts in a 4-0 win over San Diego on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Lindor's fifth inning home run doubled New York's lead to 2-0 and he later scored an insurance run after doubling in the ninth. This was Lindor's eighth straight game with a hit as he's gone 14-for-25 in that stretch and has raised his average from .182 to .222.
Jun 2, 2021
Three hits, two runs in win
Lindor went 3-for-5 with two runs scored in Wednesday's 7-6 win over Arizona.
ANALYSIS
All three of the shortstop's hits were singles. He scored on a James McCann home run in the first inning and Pete Alonso's go-ahead RBI single in the ninth. Lindor is on a five-game hitting streak, going 9-for-23 (.391) in that span. He's beginning to warm up after an ice-cold start to his Mets career. For the year, the 27-year-old is slashing .209/.300/.316 with four home runs, 12 RBI, 25 runs scored and four stolen bases across 205 plate appearances.
May 19, 2021
Records two hits
Lindor went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Tuesday's win over the Braves.
ANALYSIS
Lindor has been struggling at the plate but is showing signs of turning things around following a dreadful start to the campaign. The star shortstop has hit safely in eight of his last 11 games, posting three multi-hit efforts and a .282/.383/.487 slash line across that span.
May 17, 2021
Swipes third bag
Lindor went 0-for-3 with two walks and a stolen base in Mondays' 3-1 win over Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Lindor swiped his third bag of the year in the top of the seventh inning after reaching base on a free pass. Although he was able to showcase his speed in the victory, he continues to scuffle at the dish, as he's now 9-for-50 with two homers, five RBI and two stolen bases in May (14 games).
May 12, 2021
Steals base in win
Lindor went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Wednesday's 7-1 victory over the Orioles.
ANALYSIS
The shortstop now has at least one hit in each of his last six games, hitting 8-for-20 overall in that span with four RBI. The stolen base was just Lindor's second of the season, but he'll enjoy more frequent opportunities to swipe bags now that he's snapped out of his extended slump. The switch-hitter's average, now .202, remains underwhelming, however it has risen steadily in the past week and Lindor is beginning to look more like the player the Mets traded for and signed to a long-term deal.
May 9, 2021
Drives in one, swipes bag
Lindor went 2-for-3 with a double, one RBI, one run, a walk and a stolen base in the Mets' 4-2 win over the Diamondbacks on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Lindor may finally be catching a bit of a hot streak. The perennial all-star reached base safely nine times in his last three games. That includes a home run, three RBI, three runs and a stolen base in that stretch. Despite the quick burst of talent, the 27-year-old is slashing a brutal .190/.317/.270 in 121 plate appearances with his new team.
May 8, 2021
Mashes second homer
Lindor went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and a second run scored in Friday's 5-4 extra-inning win over the Diamondbacks.
ANALYSIS
The shortstop finally seems to be getting comfortable in his new uniform. Lindor's seventh-inning blast off Caleb Smith tied the game at 4-4 and was his first homer this season at Citi Field, and his second of the year. While he only sports a .549 OPS through 27 games, his 16:15 BB:K indicates his All-Star skill set is still intact, and the 27-year-old still has plenty of time to catch fire and put up his usual numbers.
May 7, 2021
On base four times Thursday
Lindor went 1-for-3 with three walks and a run scored in Thursday's win over the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
The shortstop had gone 0-for-23 over his prior six games, but Lindor snapped his slump while adding value with his batting eye. He hasn't lived up to his huge contract extension yet, slashing .163/.297/.207 with one homer and zero steals in 26 games, but Thursday's performance could be a sign he's coming around.
May 5, 2021
Sitting for Game 2 amid slump
Lindor won't be in the lineup for Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader at St. Louis, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 27-year-old went 0-for-3 during the matinee to extend his hitless streak to 23 at-bats over the past six games, so he'll head to the bench for the first time this season. Jonathan Villar will start at shortstop in Lindor's place for the nightcap.
Apr 25, 2021
Shifts to third in order
Lindor is starting at shortstop and hitting third in Sunday's game against the Nationals.
ANALYSIS
Lindor has hit exclusively from the second spot in the order prior to Sunday's game. However, the team shifted their lineup a bit, with Pete Alonso rising from the cleanup spot to second and Lindor shifting down one spot. Despite a potent lineup on paper, the Mets have averaged only 3.3 runs per game this season -- second-worst in the league -- so manager Luis Rojas may be looking to jumpstart the offense.
Apr 22, 2021
Slugs first HR as a Met
Lindor went 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and an RBI in Wednesday's 16-4 loss to the Cubs.
ANALYSIS
Lindor's bat finally came alive Wednesday night after going hitless in each of the last three games. The 27-year-old kicked things off for the Mets by capitalizing on a hanging changeup and skying it into the right field bleachers to give his team an early 1-0 lead. Lindor added two more singles later in the game and came around to score once on a Pete Alonso home run in the fifth. Despite the blowout loss, it was an encouraging effort at the plate from Lindor, as he launched his first long ball in a Mets uniform and recorded his second multi-hit game of the year. His slash line now stands at .222/.357/.311 with three home runs, three RBI, eight runs scored and an impressive 9:4 BB:K.
Apr 15, 2021
On base three times Wednesday
Lindor went 2-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Phillies.
ANALYSIS
A new team and the pressure of a big contract extension might have contributed to Lindor's sluggish start to the year, but the 27-year-old appears to be finding his stroke at the plate. He's still only batting ,222 (6-for-27) through eight games, but a stellar 7:2 BB:K has fueled his .389 OBP, and it seems only a matter of time before he breaks out.
Apr 1, 2021
Thursday's game postponed
Lindor and the Mets won't play Thursday against the Nationals after the game was postponed due to COVID-19 concerns, Buster Olney of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Lindor reached a 10-year, $341 million contract extension with the Mets on Wednesday, but he'll have to wait to make his debut with his new team. The Nationals are reportedly dealing with at least one positive test for COVID-19 along with several staff members who are unavailable due to contact tracing. It's not yet clear when the two teams will be able to play.
Mar 31, 2021
Reaches $341 million extension
Lindor agreed to a 10-year, $341 million contract extension with the Mets on Wednesday. Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The two sides appeared to be at a standstill in talks with Lindor's Opening Day deadline for negotiations fast approaching, but an agreement was reached late Wednesday night. The total value of the contract is $1 million more than the extension signed by Fernando Tatis earlier this offseason, though Lindor's annual value is much higher. According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, the contract contains no opt-outs and a partial no-trade clause, so Lindor is essentially locked in with the Mets through his age-38 season. He'll make his debut for New York on Thursday at Washington after posting a .370/.433/.630 slash line over 60 plate appearances during spring training.
Mar 30, 2021
Rejects 10-year contract offer
Lindor turned down a 10-year, $325 million contract extension from the Mets, Deesha Thosar of The New York Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
The All-Star shortstop had set a deadline of Opening Day to negotiate a new deal with the Mets, and what team sources described as their "best and final offer" fell short of what Lindor was looking for, which is reportedly closer to 12 years and $400 million. While that doesn't necessarily mean he will head elsewhere in 2022, it does mean the Mets will have plenty of competition for his services next offseason. Lindor posted a blistering .370/.433/.630 slash line through 60 plate appearances this spring with four homers and a 6:6 BB:K as he prepares for his first campaign outside of Cleveland.
Mar 16, 2021
Crushes first spring homer
Lindor went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer, a walk and two runs scored against the Astros on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
He'd been off to a bit of a slow start with the bat this spring, as the home run was Lindor's first extra-base hit of Grapefruit League play. It was a wonderful sight to behold for both Mets fans and those who've invested fantasy capital in the 27-year-old shortstop, as he turned on a fastball down and in, absolutely crushing it well over the right-field fence. Coming off the worst season of his career, Lindor has a lot to prove, so it'll be interesting to see how the Mets handle the pending free agent's contract negotiations.
Mar 9, 2021
Contract talks set to begin
Lindor and the Mets will begin discussions on a contract extension this week, Anthony Rieber and Tim Healey of Newsday report.
ANALYSIS
The shortstop, who picked up his first hit of the spring Monday, will become a free agent next offseason and has said he doesn't want contract talks to linger into the regular season, so the clock is ticking. Lindor could end up getting a deal in excess of $300 million, following in the wake of mega-deals signed by Manny Machado, Mookie Betts and Fernando Tatis in recent years, and new team owner Steve Cohen hasn't shown any qualms about opening up his wallet. Chances seem good Lindor's stint with the Mets will last longer than just the current campaign.
Jan 15, 2021
No arbitration necessary
Lindor and the Mets reached a one-year, $22.3 million deal Friday, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lindor was acquired by the Mets on Jan. 7, and he won't require an arbiter with his new club after agreeing to terms on a one-year deal Friday. With a deal in place for his final year of arbitration, the two sides will now presumably begin working on a long-term deal for the star shortstop. Lindor's marks were down during the abbreviated 2020 season, posting a career-worst .750 OPS with eight home runs and 27 RBI while appearing in all 60 games.
Jan 7, 2021
Heading to Mets
Lindor was sent from the Indians to the Mets on Thursday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The full details of the trade have not yet been released, but Carlos Carrasco is reportedly also included in the deal per Mark Feinsand of MLB.com, with Andersen Pickard of MLBDailyDish.com reporting that Andres Gimenez and Josh Wolf are among the pieces heading the other way. Lindor has just one year remaining on his contract, but the Mets will be acquiring one of the best shortstops in baseball for at least that one year, though he is coming off a season in which he posted career worsts across his mediocre .258/.335/.415 slash line.
Nov 5, 2020
Likely to be dealt during offseason
The Indians have informed several other clubs that they intend to trade Lindor prior to Opening Day, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Lindor is set to earn approximately $21 million this winter in his final year of arbitration, and the Indians are apparently eager to move him with the aims of cutting payroll for the upcoming season and getting back future assets in return for the star shortstop before he hits free agency next offseason. Though Lindor took a step back offensively in the 60-game 2020 campaign with a career-worst .750 OPS, his long track record of success at the dish coupled with the premium defense he offers should keep the Indians' asking price for the 26-year-old high. Expect a number of playoff-hopeful clubs to touch base with the Indians in trade discussions over the next few months.
Sep 26, 2020
Walks three times in win
Lindor went 0-for-2 with three walks, a run scored and a stolen base Friday as the Indians beat the Pirates 4-3.
ANALYSIS
Mitch Keller struggled greatly with his command Friday and walked Lindor in each of his first three at-bats. The 26-year-old was able to score a run and was active on the basepaths with his sixth steal of the season. Lindor is having a down year in terms of his personal numbers at the plate but is still doing well overall as he's hitting .263/.341/.425 with eight home runs, 27 RBI and 30 runs scored in 58 games.
Sep 16, 2020
Drives in four
Lindor went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, a stolen base, a walk, four RBI and one run scored Tuesday against the Cubs.
ANALYSIS
Lindor powered Cleveland's offense single handedly. He clubbed an RBI double in the third frame and followed that up with an RBI single two innings later. However, his biggest contribution came in the ninth inning, when he slugged a two-run home run to tie the contest. For the season, Lindor has maintained a .286/.346/.469 line with eight home runs, four steals, 24 RBI and 26 runs scored across 48 contests.
Sep 9, 2020
Launches seventh homer
Lindor went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk during Tuesday's loss to the Royals.
ANALYSIS
The 26-year-old's two-run shot during the third inning gave Cleveland a 5-3 lead, though the bullpen was ultimately unable to hold off Kansas City. Lindor has a .287/.353/.473 slash line with seven homers, 10 doubles, 19 RBI and three stolen bases in 42 games.
Sep 6, 2020
Tallies two hits, two runs
Lindor went 2-for-3 with a double, single, walk and two runs scored in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Brewers.
ANALYSIS
Lindor got out of the gates slow to start the season, recording just 15 knocks in his first 65 at-bats. However, he has enjoyed a strong stretch since Aug. 11, going 30-for-93 with 10 extra-base hits over that span. In all, the shortstop is slashing a solid .280/.341/.453 on the season.
Sep 2, 2020
Rattles off three hits
Lindor went 3-for-4 with a run scored and a double in Wednesday's 5-0 win over the Royals.
ANALYSIS
Lindor's biggest hit of the game was his ninth-inning double, and he came around to score on Tyler Naquin's second homer of the game. Through 37 contests, Lindor is slashing .283/.335/.461 with six homers, 17 RBI, 19 runs scored and two stolen bases. He's hit safely in nine straight games, going 15-for-38 (.395) in that span to firmly shake off his slow start to 2020.
Sep 2, 2020
Smacks sixth homer
Lindor went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run Tuesday against the Royals.
ANALYSIS
Lindor took Matt Harvey deep in the first inning to notch his sixth homer of the campaign. The performance extended his hitting streak to eight games, four of which have been multi-hit efforts. Overall, Lindor has put together a .270/.325/.446 line with two stolen bases, 18 runs scored and 17 RBI across 160 plate appearances.
Aug 29, 2020
Notches first steal
Lindor went 2-for-4 with three runs scored and a stolen base in Friday's 14-2 win over the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
Lindor singled, stole a base and scored on a Franmil Reyes homer in the first inning. In the second, Lindor reached on a double play and scored on Carlos Santana's long ball. Lindor's final run of the game came in the sixth inning when he doubled and came home on a Reyes single. The 26-year-old shortstop is up to five homers, 15 RBI, 17 runs scored and a stolen base through 32 contests.
Aug 26, 2020
Goes deep in win
Lindor went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a victory over Minnesota on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Lindor slugged Cleveland into a lead they did not relinquish with a two-run shot to right field in the sixth inning. The blast was his fifth of the season and his first homer and RBI since Aug. 16. Lindor is slashing .254/.316/.426 on the season.
Aug 23, 2020
Wields hot bat in win
Lindor went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored Saturday in the Indians' 6-1 win over the Tigers.
ANALYSIS
After a slow start at the dish to begin the season, Lindor is slowly rounding in to peak form offensively. Over his last 10 games, Lindor is slashing .302/.362/.442 with a home run, three doubles, seven runs and four RBI. He'll start at shortstop and will bat third in Sunday's series finale.
Aug 16, 2020
Logs homer, pair of doubles
Lindor went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run, two doubles, three RBI and one run scored in Sunday's 8-5 win over the Tigers.
ANALYSIS
Lindor entered Sunday's tilt with just seven hits in his last 41 at-bats, but the shortstop broke out in a big way in the series finale. After taking Michael Fulmer deep in the third inning, Lindor was able to add to his day with a run-scoring double in the seventh. Lindor is still slashing a pedestrian .233/.281/.422, but he will look to build off his big day when the Indians open a series with the Pirates on Tuesday.
Aug 4, 2020
Cracks third homer
Lindor went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 3-2 loss to the Reds. He was also caught stealing.
ANALYSIS
Since getting off to a 2-for-14 start, Lindor has gone 9-for-30 with three home runs. He's still looking for his first stolen base -- Monday's attempt was his first -- and Cleveland is not running a lot as a team early on. That said, it would still be a surprise if Lindor didn't end up with a handful of steals by the end of the campaign.
Jul 31, 2020
Goes deep Thursday
Lindor went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday victory over Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Lindor accounted for the only runs of the game with a two-run blast in the third inning. The homer was Lindor's second of the season and fourth extra-base hit across 29 at-bats. He is batting only .207 (6-for-29) on the campaign, though he has driven in six runs in seven contests.
Jul 28, 2020
Crushes first 2020 homer
Lindor went 3-for-8 with a home run, a double, three runs scored and three RBI as the Indians swept the White Sox in Tuesday's doubleheader.
ANALYSIS
The All-Star shortstop entered Tuesday's action 2-for-14 with one extra-base hit and five strikeouts through three games, so his performance in the the twin bill was a welcome sight. Lindor will look to build on that effort in Wednesday's series finale.
Jul 12, 2020
Likely to bat third in 2020
Manager Terry Francona said Sunday that he thinks Lindor will hit third, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lindor batted almost exclusively from the leadoff spot last season, but he could improve his RBI potential if he indeed gets slotted into the third spot in the lineup. Francona said that Cesar Hernandez is a likely candidate to replace Lindor as the leadoff hitter. Lindor slashed .284/.335/.518 with 32 home runs and 74 RBI for Cleveland last season.
Mar 23, 2020
Hot hitting in Cactus League
Lindor went 12-for-30 (.400 average) with three home runs and 10 RBI across 10 Cactus League games before the MLB suspended its season.
ANALYSIS
After his name cropped up in trade rumors all winter, Lindor elected to break off talks with the Indians about a possible contract extension during spring training. The uncertainty about his future in Cleveland clearly didn't impact Lindor on the field, as he immediately caught fire at the plate during the spring and played his usual stellar defense at shortstop. A trade may still be in the cards if Cleveland's season heads south quickly, but Lindor fantasy value shouldn't change much for better or worse if he ends up moving elsewhere.
Mar 9, 2020
Breaks off contract talks
Lindor suspended extension talks with Cleveland on Monday, Jason Lloyd of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The star shortstop could still sign a deal with the Indians following the season, as he still has two more years left on his contract, but for now he'll focus on his performance on the field. The lack of an extension seemingly increases the prospects of Lindor getting traded, though it's hard to say how a hypothetical trade would affect Lindor's fantasy value, as he currently plays in a middle-of-the-road lineup in a park that plays pretty close to neutral.
Feb 20, 2020
Batting order discussion
Lindor and manager Terry Francona might have a discussion this spring about possibly moving Lindor out of the leadoff spot, Paul Hoynes of Cleveland.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Francona cautioned that nothing was imminent about a batting order change. "I'm not trying to move him out of that spot," said Francona. "I want to be open to what could be our best lineup. I don't think anybody knows that until you have a better idea of what your team is going to look like." If Lindor were to move down to second or third in the order, he would have more RBI opportunities, perhaps at the expense of fewer plate appearances along with fewer chances to run.
Jan 10, 2020
Gets big one-year deal
Lindor and the Indians avoided arbitration Friday by agreeing to a one-year, $17.5 million deal, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports.
ANALYSIS
The contract is the second-highest ever for a player in his second season of arbitration eligibility, trailing only Mookie Betts' $20 million contract from last season. It's still a bargain given Lindor's impressive talent, as he hit .284/.335/.518 with 32 homers and 22 steals while playing strong defense at shortstop last season.
