Exits with apparent injury

Sent down Thursday
Bruihl was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
ANALYSIS
Los Angeles needed to make room on the big-league roster for the returning Brusdar Graterol, and Bruihl was consequently sent down. The latter had been busy prior to the move, pitching four of the previous five days and allowing one run over 3.1 innings during that span. Bruihl has posted a 3.80 ERA and 1.18 WHIP over 24 major-league outings this season, and he figures to be among the first options should the Dodgers need to call up a bullpen arm over the final stretch of the regular season.

Secures one-out save
Bruihl retired the only batter he faced to earn the save in Sunday's 4-3 extra-inning win over the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Andre Jackson was initially given the save chance with a two-run lead, but he allowed three of the five batters he faced to reach base. He left the game with the bases loaded, and Bruihl was able to get LaMonte Wade on a groundout to end the contest. The save was Bruihl's first in his major-league career, and his first at any level since 2019 when he logged two saves in Single-A. The Dodgers used seven relievers in this contest, with regular closer Craig Kimbrel pitching the ninth inning, so Bruihl shouldn't be expected to see many additional closing chances. He's given up two runs across four innings in four appearances since he was called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City earlier this month.

Back with Dodgers
Bruihl was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS

May 27, 2022
Earns first career win
Bruihl (1-1) was credited with the win against Arizona on Thursday, allowing two hits across one scoreless inning.
ANALYSIS
Los Angeles put up six runs early in the contest, but starter Mitch White was pulled after four scoreless frames. That enabled Bruihl, who followed White and pitched a scoreless fifth inning, to pick up the win. The left-hander has been solid for the Dodgers this season, allowing only three runs across 12 frames and posting a 1.00 WHIP while picking up two holds.
May 17, 2022
Rejoins big club
The Dodgers recalled Bruihl from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
He'll step into the Los Angeles bullpen as a replacement for Caleb Ferguson, who was optioned to Triple-A after making a one-inning appearance in Monday's 5-4 win. Bruihl is up with the big club for the second time this season after he made the Dodgers' Opening Day roster and proceeded to give up four runs (three earned) over eight innings across his eight appearances before being sent to Oklahoma City on May 8.
May 8, 2022
Sent to Triple-A

ANALYSIS
Bruihl made the Dodgers' Opening Day roster and has a 3.38 ERA, 0.75 WHIP and 6:1 K:BB across eight innings, but he hasn't pitched in a week and will now head to Oklahoma City. Robbie Erlin, who served as the 27th man for Saturday's doubleheader, won't return to the minors and will instead remain with the big-league club.
Mar 23, 2022
Healthy for spring training
Bruihl (arm) is listed among the Dodgers relievers scheduled to pitch in Wednesday's Cactus League game against the Guardians, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Bruihl will be making his second appearance of the spring after he struck out two over a scoreless frame Sunday against the Cubs. The 24-year-old southpaw looks like he's made a full recovery from the left arm injury that kept him sidelined late in the Dodgers' National League Championship Series loss to Atlanta last October.
Oct 22, 2021
Dealing with soreness
Bruihl may not be ready to go for Game 6 of the NLCS against Atlanta on Saturday after experiencing soreness in his arm while warming up Thursday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Bruihl tossed 18.2 innings with a 2.89 ERA in the regular season and has thrown two scoreless innings thus far in the playoffs. He's yet to be removed from the team's playoff roster, but it's a real possibility he will be if he's unable to contribute in a must-win game.
Sep 27, 2021
Secures third hold
Bruihl picked up a hold against Arizona on Sunday, hurling a scoreless inning during which he allowed one hit and one walk.
ANALYSIS
Bruihl came on in relief of starter Julio Urias in the sixth inning and allowed a pair of baserunners, but he was able to retire Kole Calhoun with runners on the corners to keep the Diamondbacks off the scoreboard. The hold was the third of the campaign for the rookie and his first since Aug. 21. Bruihl has struggled of late -- over his past four outings, he has given up four runs and six hits across 2.2 frames -- but he has posted a respectable 3.24 ERA and 1.20 WHIP across 16.2 innings overall.
Aug 18, 2021
Opening again Wednesday
Bruihl will start Wednesday's game against the Pirates, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
ANALYSIS
Bruihl served as an opener Monday against the Pirates and delivered a scoreless inning, and he'll do so again in Wednesday's series finale. Mitch White is expected to follow as the primary pitcher for the Dodgers.
Aug 17, 2021
Scoreless first inning
Bruihl started Monday's 2-1 victory over Pittsburgh as the opener, allowing one hit in the first inning.
ANALYSIS
After making his four appearances in relief, Bruihl made his first career start during Monday's win. He got through the first inning on just 12 pitches, but it's clear manager Dave Roberts planned for the rookie to pitch only one inning. Bruihl isn't a viable option unless he can be trusted with a larger role.
Aug 16, 2021
Starting Monday
Bruihl will start Monday's game against the Pirates, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Bruihl has four appearances since receiving his first promotion to the big leagues last week, and he'll now make his first major-league start. The left-hander should cover an inning or two before turning things over to the bullpen.
Aug 9, 2021
Superb in big-league debut
Bruihl tossed 1.2 scoreless innings against the Angels on Sunday, allowing no hits and one walk while striking out two.
ANALYSIS
The southpaw's first major-league appearance was immediately stressful, as he entered with runners on second and third and only one out in the eighth inning. Bruihl handled the situation with aplomb, striking out Brandon Marsh to hold the runners before walking Shohei Ohtani and then inducing an inning-ending groundout. Bruihl returned for the ninth frame and retired the side in order to finish off the win. The positive first impression could help Bruihl -- who the Dodgers signed as an undrafted free agent in 2017 -- stick on the big-league roster while a host of the team's regular relievers are on the injured list.
